Nice builds, so sad you loosed them
the old version won't go anywhere and Red is working hard on making the transition less destructive

I'm so excited for the demo

ok, yeah that's what I thought was some of the reasons but because I'm a Linux user I'll be using the Vulkan version anyway so I'm on the bug report side of things.
I would recommend keeping an eye on gamingonlinux.com,
they report the gaming side of linux and when there's news about Vulkan, Wine and drivers they usually covers it.
There's also people there who can help a bit with Vulkan problems and such sometimes even for WindowsI wish you good luck and be prosper in your Vulkan exploration

why not Vulkan on Windows too?
so that you don't have to remake the application for all systems and just target one api for Windows and Linux and one for mac -

right now it's the java version then later I think it'll be an option through beta to use the new one and when it's stable there most likely will be an announcement about the switch and that's not to say that there can't be an announcement about the beta version. after the new version is out I think it'll be an option or something to use the java version but hidden on the beta tab or something.
