A new update is now available, introducing seasons and more!
Latest hotfix: 0.8.0.1 (2024-12-20)

@red51 I love this new update and it is very awesome. Some people may not be able to read so I made my usual changelog video where I read it out loud and then introduce some gameplay into the video. The link to that video if I am allowed to post it here is

I love Rising World just as much as the next person and accessibility for disabled people is one of the features I am most proud of that you have introduced. So I ask of you, in the future could you consider adding more accessibility options such as a narrator? I know it's a longshot and probably a long road map as there are many features you wish to implement into the game. Having hostiles for example was a great idea along with the extended modding API could bring some mods to the table that would greatly benefit your game and bring new ideas into the light. One thing I have to thank you oh so very much for is I don't know what you changed in this game but my season 4 world is no longer corrupted instead is smooth and the sparkles are gone. If I could hug you and the other devs I would, this is one world I did not want to abandon and it's been repaired with this update. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thanks for the help. I was wondering is there a way to make it snow in different biomes than their designated area? Sort of like seasons, asking just out of curiosity here. I tried a few commands involving snow and I guess they just aren't a part of the weather presets just yet. You've got a wonderful setup for the default so far I'm thinking "timespan" as in the amount of time spent in a local area. You mentioned crop failure before and I am curious if seasons may play a part in that role?

As for the weather command... I went on ahead and disabled the weather then entered the game and switched it to overcast using the command "weather overcast 1" and it worked for a bit till it started to rain again. If only I could reduce the particles from the rain perhaps I wouldn't have much of an issue with performance. In the summer of 2020' I'll be getting a new PC this one is definitely not built for newer games.

Yesterday I was recording a video for today and I was cycling through the different weathers at the start (clear, fog, rain, thunderstorm, overcast) and decided to playthrough on the Overcast setting. Problem is the game starts to cycle this and bring rain and other weather types in when the weather cycle is turned off. Is this a bug or is there some other way to do weather overcast as a default? I've tried "weather: [overcast] default" and it resets the weather back to default instead of setting overcast as the default. The whole reason behind me trying to do this is so that I could change the color aspect of the clouds, fog and how they appear against the environment. In real life when it becomes overcast everything turns a beautiful murky green and it really makes nature come to life. I want to try the same thing in Rising World but I need full control over the weather. Any ideas?

Thanks guys, makes more sense now that Steam has finished updating 152 games ugh... yeah that took entirely too long. Just caught your posts now as I got back from a meat run at the store 5 lbs. beef for $7.45 each got 5 packages 83% lean now that put a :) on my face. Sorry for the update alarm though wasn't sure what it was till Steam decided it was time to update every game on my Seagate. Once again thanks a bunch guys, got to pack this meat in freezer bags and stuff it in the freezer. Got some cheeseburgers and homemade french fries tonight <3:saint:

Update just rolled out 479.4 MB at 12:19 PM EDT here in the USA. Umm... We've got hostiles at least I think so. Fired up up Rising World turns out that the Steam Servers are offline in my area but I am reading 0.9.5 for a version number. @red51 not sure if this is your update or if Steam has just gone cuckoo today. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Backed up my world, loaded it up in offline and it reverted to the 0.9.4.39 version? Is this accurate?

    (Edited after Testing)

Hello once again and a very good afternoon, morning, and or evening to wherever you may live in this beautiful world. Today I got a couple videos to share even some screenshots  it's a week that's going to be full of montages on Rising World with the exception of today's episode. I tore an abdominal muscle and it kind of put a slight damper in my enthusiasm, to put things short it hurts to move much. ;( But that's okay because our character can still move  Yep two videos for you episodes 48 & 49 of season 5 let's get started...

Episode 48 - Montage Week Part 1: In this episode we ramp up progress on Smilosabercat's home in montage mode by adding in the rest of the support beams to square off the roof, do some work in the kitchen, some walls and even the ceilings a bit.

Episode 49 - Custom Coat Closet: Smilo gave me an idea for a coat closet in the kitchen since I hurt myself we take the time to build this one together instead of speeding progress up.

    Screenshots:

Yes hello Martin, welcome to the Rising World community forums. If you have any media or screenshots @red51 has even made us all a really nice category where we can share our LP's artwork and so much more. Be sure to check it out while you are here and have a wonderful day :)

Loved the boat ride the swamp trees remind me of The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind though because the vines are too flat and they just don't match any other texture within the game that is one model that in my opinion needs an overhaul before being added to the world generation. At night they appear to look better with some mellow light.

Has it really been that long since I shared a video over here? 8| Wow I guess time does fly when you are having fun. Hi I create a variety of content but Rising World is the main feature on my channel and won't be leaving anytime soon. What @red51 has created is a timeless classic that will keep my imagination flowing for days on end. I record episodes of Rising world and release them Monday through Friday at 9 AM Eastern Standard Time - US (Pennsylvania) So instead of posting 23 back to back episodes on here to catch up here today I want to first off share my latest video with you.

Rising World Episode 47 Exploring The World - In this episode we take a break from building to venture out 1500 blocks in each cardinal direction (North, South, East and West) to prepare to fill in a complete square for all of my subscribers. You see I am building a world where for every subscriber I can see that is subscribed to me via the "YouTube - Subscriber List" they each get a home. Every home will be unique and have a sign out front thanking them for subscribing. At the moment I am building Smilosabercat's home and we took a break to go scouting.

Now for the rest of the episodes to catch you up to speed please take a look at the Season 5 playlist found here -

As for PC Specs I don't exactly have the best PC in the world at the moment. Best Buy lied to me when I first bought the computer in 2015 which is an Asus M11BB series PC with a 8670D graphics card and an integrated quad core AMD APU 6700 HDD with Radeon Processor. Not the best for playing Rising World so expect some lag I record in 720P and encode in 1080P on edit then compress the video using handbrake due to rural internet providers and the 5 MBps upload cap. Love where I live and don't plan on moving to a city in the near future, the cars alone would drive me bonkers. :whistling:

Unfortunately we didn't release an update, this was apparently just Steam updating some dependencies :(
We're still working on the update. A few days before the update goes live, you will find the usual blue banner in the forums ;)

Looking forward to the update though I have to ask a couple things out of curiosity. If we add models to the world they are always static, when will we be able to fully modify and customize the world generation with new plant life, random sticks and stones and add more detail without it being static? There's a lot of opportunity being missed here that could really make your sales skyrocket with real modders coming to the table. Mods like Animal Breeder Master & Planks & Beams are great but the rest are mostly just scripts. I want to see some fresh life, some adventure, something to do rather than build all the time. Sure you can add a train and a couple weeks later people will be back to either building or playing something else. I love your game and play it nearly every single day with great pleasure. After this update can you please consider some other options to help the modding community out? Perhaps someone in there could even solve the riddle of flowing water :/ but it's a shot in the wind. Keep up the amazing development I will always support you. ~ David

Since the game is in beta you could setup a paypal button on the title screen? This way if anyone wants to donate to help the game develop they could click the button and be taken directly to a verified website vs. the alternative. <3

Okay so I'm working on a bunch of .nif files for this next update (grenades, assault rifles & more ;) ) and I am wondering what code am I going to have to switch these over to to work in Rising World? Can I add a weapons bench for scopes & other custom attachments? Basically what the aim would be for is for you to be able to fully customize both the current weapons in the game and the weapons pack that I am working on. I've extracted the weapons from Rising World and converted them over to .nif files so I could work on the meshes a bit easier. Grenades were the easy part the customizing of the weapons is a bit more tricky, I need a seperate workbench for these. Can you please provide the API for one of your benches so it could be customized? Thank you :saint:

(What do you guys think of me using Mithril as uranium for plasma grenades?):whistling:

This is all great news and a massive step to creating some really awesome mods for this game. We can make fully customizable weapons from whatever game we choose and use animations that are already in the game. However sound effect files do not seem to be the same scenario we can add those now. With the 3D rendering system Red has in place if we want a 9mm pistol to a tommy gun it's all possible. I'm going to start digging through some Fallout files for some of the 3D models and see about porting them over as a weapons pack mod. For grenades I was thinking possibly add a retexture of some dynamite, (grenade hotkey would be nice here) increase the blast radius and damage threshold and reduce the timing. We can do this! Let's build some real mods guys, let's bring Rising World into the next generation and I'll do mod reviews for all the weapon mods

Did he just say custom weapons? Umm.. somebody get on that missile launcher, please? Let's start porting weapons from all the games and calling the nexus. Would love to see this game on the Vortex Launcher by Nexus Mods :) #Hype So let me get this straight we can now make fully customizable weapons right? Does this mean we can possibly add fully customizable NPC's to the game (Models) "example: Dinosaurs, Super Mutants, Aliens... etc?" I realize we wouldn't be able to make custom armor pieces just yet because of limitations but I do know a couple mod authors on the Nexus I am friends with. Mostly everything we see here are plugins two very good ones are planks n' beams and animal breeder master but if we can bring cats, dogs and other variable npc's to the game by manipulating models and adding sound effect files for them it would make an excellent addition. How far off are we from achieving that?

I really don't want this to come off as a complaint just asking for some advice here: Did blueprints completely break with this update or were they rewritten in such a way that they are always smacking you in the face? I have tried to place blueprints so many times mostly structures after season 4 broke and every time I try I have to be standing on the ground in the middle of the house. I find this very aggravating as before we were able to press F2 and see the structure from above and move it around. Now we have to be standing on the ground jus for the object or assembled blueprint to show up? Is there a way to revert these changes back to normal so I could use blueprints again? I can't place a house if I am standing in the center of it and don't know if it is lined up correctly or not. Thank you have a wonderful day.

Any chance we can can something for automation (passive power) like generators, ovens and cookers etc.. maybe let meat be stackable with the next update? All the veggies and fruit stack still can't make heads or tails why we walk around with 15 steaks taking up inventory slots like it's minecraft alpha/beta. Not complaining here just asking for a sizeable stack option for the meats and fish we gather. please? Thank you.
