Thank you for the very good update.
Still checking out all the new goodies. Love the hats :) And the many addition to the play, as in inviting friends to the personal servers.

I have a question about the personal light and the new helmet with light.

Why won't the helmet work when you equip it, as I haven't seen anyone else asking, it has to be me.
Does it need some way to activate it besides just putting it on?

Perhaps, the helmet won't work on the creative server, because of the personal light?
I did turn the personal light "L" off, and then back on: it didn't seem to make a difference either way.

Last, was the personal light output reduced? It really seems like it is half as bright at it used to be before the update.

The first voxel building game was Landmark The Game, alpha 2013 and Sunset 2017. I loved that game, excellent way to learn building skills working with the dev's.

There is a paint brush active in game now R3dskull, it is on the F4, F5, F6 tool bar, that is only active in Creative Mode. It is limited, but it is alpha. The paint/area/smooth/fill/remove tool are all the same and can be sized from a small circle or square to a large one, and controlled with a grid that can lower of raise.

I have to find your remarks are made because you do not have a full understanding of this game yet.

I imply that survival servers are not for creative building because I have spent several months on the survival server Serenity, which is also an economy based server: and now am playing on the Creative Server Artisans Realm.

I also have played on my own survival server and my own creative server, so as to learn the basics of both types of play.

You can build on a survival server of course. However, you will do it the hard way. You will dig all your own materials or buy them. You will not be able to summon any materials. You will not be able to fly. (some may allow you to now, but Red has said flying will be gone when the game launches. Instead, you have to use scaffolding and ladder to build high. You will not be able to use any of the Creative Building Tools.

Look around you, this is not Minecraft.

There are also 2 more styles of servers in the works. Adventure and another. Try different kinds of servers, there is no reason that you have to believe me, find out for yourself.

    Have fun.

Jon_Miner, the size command was no accident true. However, finding out how to make the blocks from an element that has no I. D. number was an accident.

I have used the' item etc no. I.d.' to summon building blocks of diff. mat'l. until the size command was given us.
I was playing with the size command - first time use.

If I had not been holding a glass pane next to a board, and hit the wrong hot key, I don't think I'd have used the pane on purpose. I meant that using the pane was an accident, resulting in a glass block.

I was pretty excited about it, as were a few others in our chat on DS that night. A lot of ideas of how to use glass in all sorts of nifty ways were discussed. :) I hadn't seen anything about working with it on any of the chats before this. So I posted it.

I'd like to see us be able to see the name of the blueprint we have in our inventory.

It would be handy so that when building a complex system, one that uses repeating features like ceiling arches, more than one type of windows, towers etc. we could carry 5 or 6 finished blueprints in our inventory and lay them down as needed.

Building large builds by module is a good way to build. And being able to lay down your mini modules would be useful.

Fences in general are easy to make using the plank and board methods.
    Logs make great rail fences.
Planks can be run in a long line, using the +/- buttons to vary the spacing.

Rope would be so handy for rope fences on docks.
    Also for nets.

I would like to see short little white picket fences, and standard rail fences: just for quick short set ups.

We have the ability to change the texture of the materials we are working with by the command console:

Typing in: item woodbeam 64 204 will give you 64 wood beams of black plaster

Or a plug-in named PnB (planks and boards) will do the same thing, allowing you to change texture of beams logs etc. Plus give you triangle shapes if you chose.

We have the ability to change the size of the materials we are working with using the command console:
put the item on your hot bar and type: size x y z
This will give you an item that will be the length, width, and depth that you specify with the x y z
need a large block? type in size 2 2 2 and you will get a block twice the size of the regular block

We have a paint tool. And a paint plug in.

Note that unless you are on a Creative Server, you likely can not do any of this. Survival servers focus on survival, not building. Check out the server you are interested in for the type of play they offer.

Hold a plank in your hand and type in F1 to pull up the extended construction menu, to learn more commands.

Read the tutorials treads here on these forums and see the many mind blowing things we can do now.

I discovered how to do this by accident, involving dropping a log, having a glass pane in the hot bar and hitting the wrong key when I sized the glass-entirely by accident.
Excuse the quality of screen shots as it is very difficult to get a good shot of glass.

    1. Place a glass pane on your bar, for example on space 2. Put it on your cursor, so that you can see it on screen. There are 3 types of glass, use them to get different appearing texture results.

    2. Type the tilde key (~) to bring down your console menu, as shown here.
Note this key may not be the tilde on your keyboard: the key is in the upper left of keyboard, below the ESC key and next to the number 1 key. Important: use only small letters for console commands, no capitols. See below:

    3. You are going to use the size command, size x y z , to make a block or plank.

    4. Type this into the console window: size 1 1 1. Close the console window.
Note that if using less than whole numbers, you MUST type it as 0.5, not as .5, always use a zero before the decimal pt.

This is the console menu at the top of your screen, when it is in the open position.

    5. Set down the new glass block, as shown. It is a 1 x 1 x 1 glass block that you can build with.

    6. To work with the glass block, you will find that it acts the same way as a wooden block: you can rotate it, change the length, width, and depth using the arrow commands: exactly as you would do with a wooden block.
If you do not know these commands: hold a plank in your hand and click on F1. This will bring up the extended construction menu and show you many excellent building commands.

Rotating the block: you can’t see part of it as the transparent parts make for odd screen shots.

    7. Using the glass block, build a glass wall, you will get this result.

    8. To get a large clear glass wall: use the size command again. Pull down the console window again and type in the size you want. Ex. Size 5 1 5
You will now have a 5 by 1 by 5 clear glass wall. See example here.

    9. You may use the arrow keys to make a plank using the same block you have been working with, or you may use a different glass pane. In other words, switching back and forth with the size command, using the same one block to switch between a block/plank. Or, you may make a separate block and a separate plank, this is the method I prefer to use.

    10. Using a new glass pane and the size command, create a plank, sized as needed. Ex: 5 lg. x 0.5 deep x 1 wide. Experiment to see what you can get. I like to keep a block, and a plank on hand to use without resizing one pane back and forth.

Note that when you look at your inventory, you will not be able to tell them apart by looking at them. The glass block and the glass plank will look the same. The only way to tell them apart is to know where you set them in inventory, and/or to actually place them as building.

Note: you have to have creative control to use these commands in the console. Survival servers likely will not allow you to do this. Each server has its own sets of rules according to the admin. of that server. If you are playing on a ranked server, you have to play a certain number of days to access different ranks, which will award different building commands.

If you play on a survival server, or a restricted server, you can practice these commands on your own single player server if you wish. Just be sure to make your personal server in Creative Mode.

Thank you Minotorious, that's what I was told on game, but the ones telling weren't sure of how it worked either. Sort of the blind leading the blind.

Putting it in the game files directory insures I won't loose it, or wonder what the heck it is a couple years down the line. I know where it is :)

I have a heck of a time running the game in window as my cursor won't work,-instead it moves the window around like a big icon and wants to only work on desktop. I never play any game in window form, so this is new to me. Is there a cure for it? I will look, got to be a setting somewhere for this.

    Happy New Year.

Minotorious, I have no experience at all installing plugins in any game.
Do you have a tutorial here that gives a general instruction of how to install your Blueprint Text? I have looked but have'nt found one.

I downloaded the file and installed in in my file along with other Jar files. I can pull up the menu by directly clicking on it.

When I open RW, all is well. No error messages, java errors, or other problems.
But: I have no idea how to access the program while in game. I have tried all sorts of keys and typing in the name: while holding a blueprint and without one: while in chat and in console menu.

There are people on my server who use it by getting out of the game and typing the info into the menu that comes up when they click onto the jar file, or something :). They have not posted as to how to actually do this. I think it's sort of a hit or miss makeshift sort of approach.

What am I missing? I apologize if you have a tutorial on this and I've missed it. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

This is my sculpture for the Jam on Artisan's Realm: title of this is "All angels are not gentle".

In a lighter vein, this is my Christmas/holiday cabin. All the furnishings are hand made by me using the size and the console commands for color id. Except for the tree and gifts, gramophone and obvious props.
