    I have done a quick trial of how to use the new Terraprints to create rivers. Below blueprint is really just a trial to get some feedback of how you think it could be used to create rivers more easily.


    The Blueprint is quite big and there should be sufficient terrain if you want to place it. Some smoothing and of course decoration, adjusments, etc are necessary depending on how you like to have it.



    If you think its a good start let me know and i try to refine it a bit more, as well as adding shores, springs, river bend, etc.




    Ich habe mal einen schnellen Versuch gemacht um zu sehen ob man die neuen Terraprints nutzen kann um Flüsse zu bauen. Natürlich benötigt dieses Flusstück noch einiges an Feinschliff damit es in eure Welt reinpasst. Lasst mich wissen ob es für euch passen würde und was geändert werden muss. Dann versuche ich es anzupassen und noch mehr Teilstücke zu posten. Flussufer, Quellen, Flussbiegungen, etc.

    ah oh no. I hoped so much for smoothing water :(


    The painting does quite well for waterfalls, etc. But there are still small triangular gaps in between that doesn´t make it look like a natural waterfall.


    But no problem. We will manage to work with this. Waterfalls are now easier than ever before, so it is still an improvment to have the waterpainting


    Well, basically the "smoothing out" feature never takes the currently
    selected material into account. Maybe we can hide the material selector
    while the smoothing mode is active (to avoid any confusions).




    This is basically intended: the regular terrain tools only affect the
    "terrain", i.e. solid ground, not water. That's why the brush is not
    visible on water surfaces. If you want to edit the water explicitly, you
    need to select the dedicated water tool (F5 -> 5)

    i still don´t understand the thing with the water. Maybe i missunderstood but i thought that we are now able to "smooth" water. The same way as we can with the ground. F5-5 just allows me to place water. I can see no difference to before the patch.


    What was added is the painting-feature, which is very nice. But i seriously hoped we could smooth the water and by that create beautiful waterfalls and rivers.

    @red51 am i doing something wrong? I have shot 7 arrows with the compound bow at a spider but it didn´t die. The yellow visual mark and the sound showed me that i hit my target but aside that no impact was recognizable. I hit it with the warhammer and the chainsaw and the spider died off almost immediately.


    That was in SP and creative mode


    Edit: It seems i didn´t hit the spider but the ground. Though when i did another trial, coming up very close to the spider, aiming directly at the hairy body the result was the same. Spider did not die.


    Is the hitbox for arrows really that small or maybe the collision not working? Or am i that blind that i can´t hit a spider with my arrow from a distance of 10 cm? :whistling:


    Edit 2: Nah, it isn´t my dioptrine. I locked the spider-NPC in place, hit it up close with arrows and also with the rifle but no reaction on the spider. Either the hitbox is really izzybizzy tiny or not detecting impact on projectiles

    Du machst ganz sicher was falsch. Bist Du Dir sicher das Du die richtige lösch Option ausgewählt hast? Du kannst z. B. Mit Objekt löschen keine Blöcke entfernen

    probier es doch mal in einer anderen welt. oder geh ein gutes stück von deinem jetzigen bauwerk weg und stell da irgendwas hin. dann versuch es mal.


    ich bin mir ziemlich sicher das du was übersiehst. denn das entfernen-tool hat bei mir nur bei blueprints gezickt (manchmal, nicht immer). ansonsten ging es einwandfrei

    Dann machst du aber irgendwas falsch. Denn das Tool funktioniert.


    1. F7
    2. Punkt A + Punkt B anklicken (Mausbutton) - ergibt einen roten Würfel das das zu verändernde Gebiet markiert
    3. Auswählen was du löschen willst (siehe mein vorheriger Post)
    4. ENTF-Taste drücken
    5. fertig

    Ja, fliessendes Wasser wäre super. Aber auch jetzt schon kannst du, mit einigen Tricks, schon Wasserfälle bauen. Das neue Aquaforming-tool sollte dabei helfen. Scheint noch nicht ganz so gut zu funktionieren (die Glätten-Funktion) aber es geht auch so schon einen halbwegs gut aussehenden WAsserfall zu bauen. Jemand hier im Forum hatte sogar mal einen mit Planks und Beams gebaut. War erst kürzlich. Such mal bei den Blaupausen nach "Rivendell"

    Erstmal vielen Dank für das Update. Ich habe das Entfernen-Tool F7 getestet, es funktioniert nach wie vor nicht. Wird es noch gefixt?


    Was funktioniert denn nicht? Du drückst F7, wählst dann den Bereich aus und in dem roten Bereich wird dann gelöscht. Mit den Tasten 1-5 kannst du auswählen was gelöscht werden soll. Grünzeug, Objekte, Konstruktionselemente, Blöcke oder Alles.


    Nur bei Blaupausen hat es etwas gesponnen. Meinst du das? Das müsste ich erst selbst noch testen.

    One more thing:


    Trying the water-terrain-tool-functions the "smoothing out" function doesn´t seem to work.


    I have selected "water" but all it does is to raise/lower the ground below. It doesn´t effect the water at all. The red circle/square is also not projected on the water surface but only on the ground below the water.


    The "painting"-tool though seems to work great.

    Red51 & Team.... THANK YOU!! The NPC are awesome (the peaceful times are over - they really mean to fight :) ) but for me personally the most outstanding part is the Terraforming-Blueprints. Im so happy about this i could cry. Now no mountain is safe from me.


    @WalterDasTrevas - would you be so great to upload a blueprint of your wonderful statues? I can´t wait to implement some of them on my map.

    I cant wait for the new update :) But just wondering if the falling through the earth will be fixed so f2 can be turned off so in pvp servers we dont have people f2ing into claims anymore? Or people using exploits in the pvp servers.



    The npcs look awesome, will be nice to have a challenge in the dungeons than just simple knocking out walls and covering pits


    I think falling through the ground is not a game issue. Most of the time it is related to the sever, sometimes to the client. Connection issues, low hardware, maybe even too many objects/elements on one spot that can´t be handled by the server or client.
