Yeah, you and Mino both. What is it this time, and why can't I join up. There always has to be ONE stupid issue somewhere haunting me at all times. ||

I've restarted the server, I restarted my modem/router, and I even restarted my PC. What now.

Well, this is frustrating. I can't tell if it's actually my client, or if it's my hosting (Nitrado) doing this. I have to wait until someone on my server chimes in to test it out, yet it's either client side or Nitrado side preventing me from playing. I'm unable to complete my Canadian Tower in time for Canada Day.

Red51, you have my server information so you might know. I can provide you with the necessary information, even to whitelist you, to troubleshoot this to see if it's client side, or Nitrado side.

It's just a simple socket error.

    ------------

I realized too late that this is in the client, and not server side. Sorry!

    What about a sailor's cap?

    Like this "Elbsegler": Elbsegler

I approve of this one because it'll allow me to do such NPC wise also.

Zfoxfire showed interest in this, having the option to have fox ears & fox tails for our NPCs for the serious anime side of things.

    - Fox ears:

    - Tail

    Yeah.....

    - Standard baseball cap:

Being able to have them in all sorts of types, plus somehow being able to customize them. I would love it if we could also add in emblems onto the hats so we can customize them in game via a hat maker, or something.

Actually we were more focusing on different clothes than on hair styles There won't be so many different hair styles in the initial release, but more hair styles (and more clothes) will be dded in the future.
We also have to find a convenient way to add new hair styles etc. to the game via the API.

Aww. I hope we can have the option to API/Mod in more hairtypes similar to how we can insert plugins with ease. I hope you can treat further player model accessories & customization similar to how we deal with plugins. That's how I remember one +18 Illusion game dealing with character customization that you could import the eye types as .pngs that it may be interesting to see how people treat such.

But I'm also happy to hear that you'll be focusing on more clothing types because that'll really change things up in customization & variety. All sorts of stuff would be possible. I really do want to crank out clothing in my world, as well as being able to display them openly as if what I had was a shop (or shall be a shop) because they also tend to make nice visual appearances on all fronts.

I find clothing to be similar to Euro Truck Sim 2 & America Truck Sim's take on paint jobs. They're simple, people curse & throw childish tantrums when they don't get other features, yet you're able to keep adding lovely customization options to the game.

Oh yes, there will be at least a few glasses. Once the player models are available, we are open for suggestions about new clothes, hair styles, glasses, hats, suits etc (especially glasses and hats don't need rigging, so they're easy to create).

Sweet! Looking forward to seeing what hats & glasses types we get. Wondering if we'll get aviation related accessories because one of my buddies played Minecraft using aviation related skins. The old timey aviation goggles, hats, scarves, and such. For me, I'd be happy (as a hat) to have both a baseball cap (for myself) as well as some fox ears (anime style & in various colours) for the NPC side of things.

    ---------

Looking forward to seeing what these current player models are capable of because it'll allow me to gauge the power of what they'll be able to do later. There's however been a little 'complaint' about the fingers being too widely spaced that you may want to tweak the hand to have less finger space. I guess nobody wanted to mention that openly because it feels rude, or something. Thought I'd put it out there just in case. It might have been shadows, or it might be the spacing itself.

There's also another comment making note of how 'masculine' the female body appears that I hope we'll have a body slider, or something, to choose from various types. Masculine, feminine, and the whole range inbetween. People would want to see all sorts of body type sizes for their characters, something I'd love further customization options for both myself & NPCs.

But nice, shall be sweet to see more clothing types, hat types, and even glasses types. I'd request for a Canada Day shirt, yet that's too late this year. I guess we can still have them, but it be after. I have lots of requests, yet you're a busy guy. I'd feel guilty spamming you with clothing types. It's tempting though.

I guess wording is key, or Red51 needs to also focus on doing what Empyrion does by allowing some builds to be used as 'prefabs' by using the blueprint system. Have some basic builds so you can place down basic shelters, farms, and such. Similar to what you mentioned Dagoline's builds were that you could have basic homes & such for people to construct with. Also, people should be the ones at fault for failing to do the research. I've been saying it time and again, yet people need to do research.

I say that strongly also from a retail perspective when people come in to buy stuff then they throw a tantrum because they failed to read the 'grams' part on the box that they then start whining & moaning by also saying "they weren't that guy". They were by whining & moaning saying they'd have to flip the store upside down, or something, to find what they needed which was over-reaction. Shut up. People need to know what they're buying, thus researching. Research every part, ask questions, and know what you're buying. That should be standard practice.

But yeah, to the point that to prevent that sort of tantruming by the community we should inspire from Empyrion by having basic blueprints so people can build in a similar fashion to what's in the trailer. I bet we shall, more so when workshops become a thing, yet we have to wait.

Yeah, I can't wait to see a trailer when we have player models in, showing the various animations, as well as also the horse & boats. I also agree with scuba diving needing to happen to check out ruins, also needing to force oceans to dig deeper into the terrain to add more depth.

Oh, they're also on steam also. Red51 covertly releasing them I see. Nice stuff, yet seem to be rehash types of the first PV, yet minus the player model at times or a better take of them. Curious to see what he'll add with the player models released. Even need to get a shot of the dungeon pyramids in them, the character models, and such.

Found it 'cute' how he had the scaffolding act as a pier. Nice stuff.

I agree. There was a discussion about adding in national flags with different flag pole & banner styles that Red51 was interested in adding, yet some nations have copyrights on their flags so you can't really use them in the game. It be sweet to fly a default Canadian flag in various styles, or at least be given various shapes & pieces of them so we can do them ourselves.

Yes, looking at both Minecraft's banner system, as well as Medieval Engineer's banner system would be the way to go about it.

You know those flags and banners during festivals? Consider these: http://g.kwikweb.co.za/geniegr…//photos/banner-types.jpg

Or the kingdom banner types of various sorts: http://www.wurmpedia.com/images/e/ed/Banners.jpg

YOu also have those hanging flag-banner types with the triangle tip (long way pointed towards ground), or the inverted triangle going into the flag creating pointing corners.

Yeah, I agree Xalzia that various flags & banner types should be looked into. Even being given vectors, shapes, and such so we can create our own art, something that can be seen in detail if you go Google up some 'Forza Horizon' related car paint jobs.

I am offended by this because my natural hairstyle is "Bitch Curls" :D:D:D Usually tied up into a pony, though!I'd love to see a variety of hairstyles both for guys and girls too; nice picture!

I must have missed that :D I find it amusing now that you pointed it out that it's offending in that street punky manner.

    ---------------

I"m curious. I just have realized sooner, will we have the option to wear various forms of glasses? Using metallic + glass stuff to create glasses, sunglasses, and the like? Pilot googles, among other sorts? Desert googles so sand doesn't get in your eyes.

Not sure if you're focusing too heavily on hair styles or not, but for when you do here's some hair styles you could look into for added customization for the female side. I'm sure we could also find a nice male counterpart to the male player model hair customization.

Thought I'd put this out there while I still had this before I lost it in the chat void. We're going to have so much fun with these new player models.

Question: will we have any magic casters in game, or we it be strictly true to RL? I don't really expect it, just curious. Medieval areas had their soothsayers and such, while not true magic casters they had their 'auras'. And kings had their advisers.

I hope there'll be an option for magic casting on a basic level for plugin & modding purposes. Maybe some for the dungeons, and such. There's smoke effects that's stuck in creative so I do hope magic shall be treated highly in some fashion so we can use it for 'customization purposes', or something along those lines. The stuff that's in Skyrim with fire, 'winter' magic, as well as a magical 'light orb' for some basic stuff. Nothing major.

Happy to hear we'll have lots of suitable clothing, and such.

2-3x ? I agree that speeding up the max running speed makes sense, but I'm afraid that 2-3x might be too much

Well, just half-inserting times speed yet something that would be nearly mirrored to what's in 'Medieval Engineers', or even 'Grand Theft Auto 5/Online' type running speed. SOmething that's actually running. Maybe running, jogging, and running itself. When you run it has to really feel like running. Not sure how you view 2-3x speed, yet something that's simply 'twice as fast' as the running speed we currently have that's more like fast walking. It's making me curse with how slow it is.

You don't see much hair due to the perspective Here is another screenshot which reveals the true haircut of this character: images.rising-world.net/preview/playermodels/05.jpg

Perspective tends to harm, yet happy to see another shot. It makes much more sense now that you had to have that shot for mining, and such. Thanks for sharing! Interesting hair style. Curious to see what other hair types we'll get, something I bet we'll see when the update itself releases.

    Hyped!

    YATTA!~

Finally! I can finally rest easy knowing we have the previews for the 'Player Models & Animations' update. I love the first & last image because it brings the most out of the characters. The second image is funky because hair isn't being shown (or little), yet love how you're showing off the shirts & mining helmet, something I'd use. Mining helmet, musket, as well as bow & arrow. Shall be interesting to see how I'd tweak my character to be more like me. It's as you say, a foundation for things to come.

I hope you don't mind me being picky. I was expecting more, yet I'm happy with this because it's going to change how we play. We're now going to be able to tell each other apart, as well as being able to craft clothing to tend more to ourselves. It's a nice welcomed addition. Do hope you speed up running to 2-3x the speed when holding shift. Maybe with a sprint meter. That really has to be a thing. No joke.

Same question as Harv of - "Will we be able to customize our character that "one time", or be able to have it stored on the server to put into one server and another?"

Nice. I can't wait to see modding adding in body types to bring out the most out of these character models. Not just the nudity side, but the actual quality. Not knocking you guys because you're working your rear-ends off, yet curious how far modding shall go by adding further customization.

Even loving the stats. I may play around with that to see how that goes. Glad you finally mentioned it, answering questions of what it shall contain, and such.

I've been curious if it would be possible, in some manner, to have some form of fishing going on. Similar to Machette's 'Animal Breed Master' plugin & that 'cars' plugin I'm curious if there's a way so we can import any models to act as hard shells (clams, mussels, and oysters), or even a fish model that only spawns in ocean & lake models to then fade out after you've fished enough. Some sort of quantity that it appear in your inventory, unless that goes into modding.

Not sure how this'll work, or if it's at all possible. If someone can experiment then that be awesome. As for the food type itself in the inventory I'm unsure.

Really feeling bad for Red51 right now because of the whole anticipation for the next update. The whole wait for the preview images to then have the update as it's split into three (or so worded) that we're desiring it. I guess I'm the worst of the bunch because I really just want to go fiddling with the features while being the most vocal about it, and I feel I must apologise for that. I just want to play with custom NPCs + finally be able to customize my character. The whole thing about being able to run faster, and to have horses soon after such.....

The whole desire and mood for it is serious that it's making me irritable, and I do apologies for that on both here & steam. It's like having Christmas in summer, but you just don't know when Christmas is in the summer months of December type of thing. Imagine if you didn't know what day Christmas was in December. You just knew it happened, yet didn't know when....That's how I feel right now.

The problem I'm seeing on Steam are the skewed negative results making the results turned into 'mixed' that it doesn't make Rising World appear all that grand. We humans are short-sighted species that we want everything now, and I'm sadly in that group that it's special we have Red51 as special as he is with the patience he has. People constantly saying we need content, yet we're all stuck having to wait on Red51's perfectionism, yet that in itself is something that should be protected. Rushed buggy content is crap, yet as Trillnar and others have said is to divide things into smaller chunks to be released, something Red51 seems forced into doing by turning one update into two, then three big chunks.

Yeah, sorry. I'm just breaking from the whole anticipation because it should have taken advantage of the steam sale by showing preview images. We're told "next days", which to me means "in the next FEW days". English language is a messy language that only Europeans (or those currently being taught English) have proper grasp of the full meaning. Europeans & focused Asians (i.e Chinese & Japanese) tend to have a crisper grasp on a more professional side of the English language.

I'm not flacking Red51, just restless that I also wanted to point out how other people are restless also on Steam & such. Even wanting to apologies for my obnoxiousness I admit that I'm being an idiot that I need to play other games more. Sorry guys. The anticipation for the next update is, again, serious. :S

Alright, I see a lot has been done on my server, yet some I can't share quite yet because of it being in a 'WIP' state. I still want to partially open up my server to people, yet still feel uncomfortable doing so. I haven't even tweaked with the permissions to allow standard users to simply 'ghost' around. I still do plan to partially open it up, only allowing trusted folks to play. If I know you play fair, you'll be in.

    - [0.8.2.4] Brisko Village - 'Triangle Dirt Shelter', (WIP) Canadian Tower, Lumber Cabin, & 'Canadian 50's Diner:

I felt that it was time again to share some more goodies as enough builds were completed. They still need tweaking, yet being able to post them as they are.

    • Daboiye's Farm: This one took me by surprise when I was simply following a pathway to get it marked on my map. I found Daboiye's 'massive' farm with a lot of goodies growing within. Quite an eye-catch that I love it.
    • 'Canadian Tower': A tease-view of the Canadian Tower being built up to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday. Still working on it, yet you can see it gradually reaching higher in the sky in a proud manner. I also spent this posting day's session reworking the courtyard roadwork. Need to decorate it. Been tweaking things with it on and off while working on something other.
    • Lumber Cabin: A building rebuilt from Niska Village (older world) in this world to hold all my logs, lumber, and any wood related goodies. It's even a basic make-shift crafting area to work with. Anything tree related, it goes in there. It's a modernized historical structure modernized in Brisko.
    • Lumber Cabin (interior): A bit of a walkway with a stairway leading to an upper balcony type thing. A place to view out, if you so desired. The upper walkway could also hold a few barrels, something I've slowly started to do by placing barrels up there..
    • 'Triangle Road Shelter': I have no fancy name for this, just that it's a shelter along the main road heading towards Brisko, as well as sheltering anybody heading the other way. It's simply meant to gather dirt, something that's precious in this game. Even planning to make a corn farm as a memento for me harvesting corn in '7 Days to Die' with two friends. There's trees now growing around it, yet this is the best 'clear' image I have of it.
    • 'Canadian 50's Diner' (upper): On the upper floor of the diner to give it a bit of that 'restaurant' feel to enjoy a nice cool night in the desert. A nice desert tropical touch, something I'll enclose with some sort of simplistic roofing. Cooking some chickens, something Red51 gifted us for a 'Canadian thanksgiving' a few years back because turkeys weren't around. Those chickens are MASSIVE! As big as turkeys. I must thank Machette for supplying the 'Animal Breed Master' plugin because I can breed chickens to supply my restaurant with. Wanting to also farm up pigs, cows, and the bunch also.
    • 'Canadian 50's Diner' (Interior): The inner view to 'AFK' at safely while eating a meal, to sit & rest, among others. Tried to make due with an awkward design, something I'm surprised came out nicely, or "well enough" to enjoy. Eventually going to add NPCs to sit, trade food, and etc.....
    • 'Canadian 50's Diner (Exterior): The outter view of what was supposed to be a modern restaurant, yet turned into a Fallout 4 themed build. A retro Canadian 1950's themed diner that it shows in the name. It's my Rising World Canadian themed build with that touch of Fallout for tribute in a desert wasteland. Hilarious.

Well, on July 1st I'm going to try and show a video, as well as the finished 'Canadian Tower' so I'm looking forward to that. Hoping to get that tower done, as well as some other side projects. I really want to get this Canadian Tower done in time so I can try and make a video (software willing) to share with you all. it's my pride and joy in this world that I also can't wait for NPCs so I can start populating my village to make it more awesome. Even having horses to speed things up, to further supply my settlement, among others. My builds are considered 'finished' (image sharing manner), yet they still need quite a bit of polish to make them genuinely completed. Things like proper decorative, railings, among others.

If you want to join my server then you must be good friends with zfoxfire, Daboiye, & Harv. I must trust you for you to join. Blame all the griefers & drama queens from both Minecraft & Rising World side of things. If something doesn't make sense then I posted this when I was half asleep.

To add to this I've been losing cactus saplings into the ground of the desert that I could have easily replanted more. Saplings tend to fall through the ground, or anything when it frequent quantity. As Xalzia mentioned, it wasn't ground breaking that I didn't make note of it. I was going it, yet haven't felt the need because it didn't feel "that special", or anything.

(Edit: Also, block ID 21 & 22 refuse to be IDs as blocks on the bottom left.)

The last update was exactly two months ago tomorrow, the time period between updates varies but for an update the size of player models with all the crafting stations to make the new items I would expect no less than three months.

Though as the steam sale is coming up (most likely on Thursday or Friday this week) a small update or an image preview would give a good incentive to people to buy Rising World in the sale :D

Gotta quote you because of that opportunity to get something out for the Steam sale coming up soonish, something Red51 seems to want to do by saying "few days" type thing. I hope it's in the next few days because I'm figuratively dying here for something. Needing something fresh for motivation.

I'm thinking about splitting this update into several parts, this would make some parts available earlier, and also bugfixing would be easier It's always a pity if updates take "too long", especially since this also holds back other changes and bugfixes that were done in the meantime, but in this case I'm sure that the result will be worth it.

Makes sense. Would explain why horses & camels are in the update after, yet from what was mentioned I'd at least get the NPCs in the creative form eh? Being able to size them and customize them to gauge what's possible, and what's not. To see what plugins could happen, and which can't on the level of exporting exterior clothing sets into the game via plugins, or however it works. Their function side (digging & bodyguarding) of things though, that be much later down the line with the hostiles from what's being noted. I'm fine with that, yet just something to stop me from being restless would be nice.

Well, I can't wait to be blown away by the preview images, as well as the clothing types we'll get. Oh, I need to quench this curiousity so bad that it's just making me truly restless.

Alright, Red51 is probably going to kill me for constantly bringing this up but there's this new game that mixes Minecraft with Stonehearth type gameplay. Even Timber & Stone, but Minecrafty that I'd love to see this form in Rising World. It has what I want in it that I have to bring it up, but putting it in the FTB Turtles thing because of how these NPCs are tasked in a similar manner to FTB Turtles.

    --------------

    - Colony Survival:

Colony Survival is a Minecraft-Stonehearth-Timber-and-Stone type game where you try to get a settlement established to survive the elements. You try to build up a settlement with the basic resources to turn your settlement into something grand, yet every night monsters come attacking you to put your settlement at risk. You have to have food for your settlers, as well as a bed for them to survive in.

    Steam Page:

    http://store.steampowered.com/app/366090/Colony_Survival/

    ------------

    - What I Wish Red51 would note:

    • Being able to rescue NPCs from the wild so they could be recruit able to your side. It could be either randomly spawning camp sites, or in a bandit cage as a hostage, or something along those lines. Even a shipwreck on a beach, yet at a low frequency so you won't be over-run with NPCs to 'rescue'. If you can't rescue them then they should go to an NPC village in an implied manner, maybe even seeing them later.
    • Being able to converse with them in a VERY basic manner via text to join you. Ask them to join you, to trade inventory, and such.
    • Each NPC could have a 'flag' customized to them to tell them where they could put stuff, where to mine, and etc. Even placed on chests claimed for them. Similar to signs, but flags.
    • They would require food, bed, & storage assigned to them to settle in your place, or go elsewhere. (you have a lot of food that they can eat through. They would burn through your food stockpile)
    • Being able to cook for you, mine for you, farm for you, and even seek out desired items for you by pointing you in its general direction (if in its POV). Or just idle about....

When digging my road the past few days in anticipation for horses I once again desired FTB Turtles. I don't want to harass other players to help me build that I would need NPC assistance. People ended up getting offended with me when I constantly asked for their assistance that NPCs need to bridge that gap (Not in Rising World, but in Minecraft). People only have so much focus & attention that NPCs can bridge gaps. Even waiting for the next update to add that 'mining drill', among other things. You would put food & items in their inventory if you're going on a long journey, or else risk them dying. Put a flag on a chest so it could be claimed for the survival oriented NPCs. It would be helpful if I could task NPCs to do something I've had FTB turtles do for me by digging out columns of the terrain, and even flattening specific parts. Granted, we'd treat them humanely by keeping them fed, thirsted up, and well rested.

I would also love it if we could save NPC appearances into some sort of blueprint so we could bring them back up into our world. Carrying them from one world to the next, even with their skills that they may or may not have learned. If there is a skill system.

Sorry Red51, but when there's a demand there has to be a way to supply that. It's painful when one game has half a side, then another game has the other half that you need a way to merge those sides together. Rising World has one side, and Colony Survival has another side..........

[Keep in mind that the NPC I'm suggesting is something I view as 'ideal' for Rising World. One where they are themed in a RW manner, and not overblown into other people's desires of being 'slave NPCs'. I'm trying to request something balanced.]

Yeah, I'm now leaning in the 'Conan Exiles' side of things that we should gain a few varieties of desert trees to mess about with. I've been playing Conan Exiles again for some casual testing purposes that I approve of having desert trees. The cacti I have growing (in RW) actually behave as interesting fences that you could grow them to keep desert bears (it's an open world, yet it hasn't happened to me) away from you, or even bandits. You could prickle the bandits to death. Even make them prickly so you take damage from them.

Yeah, I swore that cacti stored water, and I'm glad you reconfirmed that. With that in mind there should be cacti types which you could crack open to fill up your water containers with as they (very slowly) regenerate water for you to survive on.

The 'prickly pear' is something that's catching my attention because you could farm up cacti for both water & food source. You could have an interesting cacti farm variety going on that it be interesting to see how people would live purely in the desert biome.

Seems like that's two votes (including mine) that wants to see cacti losing their wood ability, something I'm going to assume is only temporary.
