    Sorry for the late response! If you don't get a reply within a few days or a week, it's totally fine to bump the topic. Unfortunately I also tend to lose track of the Java sections of the forum (this isn't your fault, it's my fault, restructuring the forum is still on my to-do list).

    I had to do a double take when you mentioned Java. Feel free to move this to the Unity version, not Java. That one is on me, but the error is still the same. If you want me to bump threads, I shall going forward. Thank you.

    No hard feelings, I'm just cranky while also wondering how to politely poke you.

    However, recently I found a bug that caused gravity to break objects in rare cases, even if they had contact to the ground or something solid (originally this issue was raised in connection with blueprints). This might be responsible for the objects to disappear in your case.

    Noted. Yeah, that does sound plausible, and I wish you the best mending whatever it may be. I've been itching to get back on but both this and other games have prevented me from playing. Maybe I can play Rising World again knowing there is a potential fix for it.

    I'll look out for any 'events.db' the next time I see it happening. But yeah, feel free to move this to Unity subforum. I screwed up on that one.

    As Red51 told me to, and I'm doing this by his request for my aid for assistance, is to note odd disappearances of items in my game world.

    This issue occurred on May 5. Took me far too long to officially note it here, also partially hoping Red51 could fix "something" via a hot fix patch during this.

    I had 2 of 3 barrels disappear from my shelter in the middle of two settlements. I also had 2-3 primitive chests disappear on the right side (being a makeshift sheltered horse stables, and a nice wooden bed disappearing. I had tons of stone, dirt, wood, saplings, and even some ores in there. The original barrel stayed, the others disappeared. The three barrels sit on a blocky ledge, the 2-3 primitive chests sat on the ground, as with the bed (on the ground). They disappeared. I reloaded back to the main menu and back. I exited the game and back, nothing reappeared.

    I was waiting for winter to transition into spring, it never has, and I don't know what day it is. Yes, I need to bring a calendar here. I was going to, and maybe I should go back and get a calendar to place here for reference sake. Red51 noted I can hold 'F' to note how long a season shall last, etc. Noted.

    PC: Bazzite OS - Linux.

    (Not a Steam Deck, but my ancient Win 10 PC which is now on Linux.)

    Yes, everything is rough, and now even more so with how I had primitive chests disappear with resources. It made me demoralized because I chewed through so much resources. I saved so much for future projects, and poof. Gone! I wanted to make a memorial for the passing of my dog in 2017~, and for my friend's passing of his dog last month. It hurt, and this just demoralized me. I want it fixed. State how we can narrow things down and I'll see what I can do to help you track this issue down. Maybe I can feel motivated to also get back to building my settlement. I have images I want to turn into posters, etc.

    What do you need, I'll do my best to make note of glitches and bugs I encountered.

    Oh, well, why don't you just send a private message or an email?

    It's a matter of respect.

    I can't send him a DM because he's busy in his own little world, so the next best option is to leave a posting here to see if he does or doesn't. Maybe I can, but prior to an update being released, I can't. I can't send him a DM. Maybe after an update is released, that's a proper time to pester, poke, and prod him, and all that stuff. After an update, but never before an update.

    And now that I made a thread I got a response.

    I'm not a rw developer but also a (senior) developer and just to answer the question thats asked here: In general language related text should never be hardcoded and should lay in some outsourced language files, so it doesnt matter how many locations in the code reference gender strings only the language files have to be updated, for example json files like:

    Code
    {
    "body": {
    "type": {
    "a": "Body Type 1",
    "b": "Body Type 2"
    }
    }
    }

    Only these have to be changed (in all languages ofc. )

    Thank you! I asked Grok and Gemini prior to all this as well and they both agreed it's a 5 minute to 1 hour change, and that's what I expected. I thank you for noting how easy all this is.

    Much appreciated.;)

    That's all I was asking for, and I thank you for your response. <3 (Heart, because I don't see a salute o7 emote)

    Respect. o7

    I want an opinion from Red51, Waveshapr, or someone of the team noting the recent troubles on Palworld. I want their honest opinions, as a developer, even if they have to DM it to me instead, to which I can use their opinions loosely going forward since then. I just want to know how easy or hard changing a text line in the player character line is.

    -----

    There's this issue with Palworld (since launch) where Palworld developers (Pocketpair) released the game with 'Body Type 1 & 2 (A&B)' to the point they could more or less ignore it. It was an issue, yes, but it's a constant grinding point, now more so than ever, especially with Japan's dishonesty law requiring developers in Japan (and those selling) to provide authentic and honest mediums released in their intended manner. No censorship, no political nonsense, just straight-up pure gaming experience. Players have been upset about it from launch, some more accepting than others, but it's a constantly reoccurring issue for Palworld. I've stated that if Pocketpair/Palworld chose to dedicate their time to fix a text-based issue that it would only take 5 seconds (realistically 5 minutes), with the added time to verify it legally, with Steam, etc. The problem itself, via coding, would simply be a 5 second 'Ctrl + F', find and delete, replace, and have it be 'Male' and 'Female' again. Correct?

    Here's the video for a summary:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UaR0StWyK8

    I don't care if this is from Asmongold and Grummz or not, they have the information I desire within showcasing Body Type 1 & 2 issues. I'm used to Red51 hotfixing his game within the same hour, the same day, or even a week, something Pocketpair/Palworld is refusing to do for Palworld after 3+ years for a quick fix.

    - Locked thread for Body Type 1/2

    - Thread boils over

    - Numerous posts are deleted, topics removed, and just an outright shitshow.

    This could have been easily avoided by simply acknowledging the playerbase, more so since Day 1, by respecting those who actually play the game over those who go out of their way to sabotage the game.

    Instead of fixing their game, patching things players desire to see normalized again, we're seeing constant pushback against the Palworld community. Gaslighting tactics, personal attacks, and just constant disrespect.

    (- I woke up to my Steam notifications being filled with community notes of how many of my posts have been removed, initially with no reason, later given a false reasoning afterwards. Other people were banned (both sides of the fence) and topics sabotaged.)

    I had to boot up Rising World (Unity) to note stuff (for science) with how easy it is to have male and female identifiers. Red51 has, by default, showcased male and female symbolism, and no fuss grown out of that. Granted, he did gain a few grumpy posts on the Steam forum about the female player appearing masculine. Was later shown they can appear feminine, but that's for another time. With all the issues I had with Rising World, I'm glad Rising World can be honest here.

    (Side-note: I need to redo my character appearance, having switched from Windows 10 to Bazzite OS while waiting on the Steam Machine.....)

    Too long, didn't read:

    Q - How easy is it to change 'Body Type 1' & 'Body Type 2' text in the menu?

    I say it's between 5 seconds to 5 minutes, and that's gauging it from Red51's past showcases on how he programmed the game. The struggles he had to go through with water turning into molten metals, and various typo edits, but the hotfixes were usually 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, or even 1 month.

    Other developers I followed throughout the years implied everything, with passion, can be programmed within a short period of time. They made no excuses, they had a plan, and they executed it to have it implemented in a game. Same with a few authentic modders in the modding scene. Same with Japanese game developers who both release their game, note hotfixes/patches, and their blogs on DLSite and similar websites. I can also state such from RPG Maker side of things, and a few modding attempts, etc. I'm sure I could have worded things far better, I"m however far too angry for that right now. Too many fake happenings and instances going on, and constant betrayals both here and Palworld, and everywhere else. Nobody is allowed to have fun. I want to jump back onto Rising World though. I want to tame that wolf as a pet..... I find this whole Palworld situation absolutely stupid. It's been hijacked, especially since launch, and it's become more apparent than ever (even with Rising World) how everything is just intentionally sabotaged.

    Changing texts shouldn't be a life and death situation, but I want to hear from Red51, if he chooses to, or maybe he'll stay silent. He has an update he still has yet to release. I also want to ask other developers who have coding experiences, etc for how easy and simplistic this situation is, and I'll hopefully get their opinions later. I need to hunt the people down I know who are authentic game developers (not passing as one) having made games, and such.

    I also had people poking me about when the update shall release so I'm also here wondering where it's at. I had to also keep asking Grok/Gemini, and also the Trello. Red51 shall release his update when it's ready, but it's taking forever, as always.

    I genuinely desire to see Rising World succeed because Minecraft irritates me so much. Trying to play it with Trains Add-on via Bedrock is awesome, just not the vanilla side of things. I'm happy Rising World is doing so well, but it can also genuinely do so much better if only people and Red51 can both be as honest as they can be. Everybody needs to keep doing what they can to keep both Rising World and older games doing well. And of course, a few proper newer gems of games.

    Another reason as to why games are faulting is because gamers are aiming for older games, not newer ones.

    Steam Reveals That Players Spent Only 14% of Their Time on Games Released in 2025, Preferring Older Titles
    via: mp1st

    People desire to simply play games for games, without any real-world influences interfering with the game. Escapism with actual escapism. It's own realm and sandbox. AAA games are being trash, other games being less interesting, with myself playing Rising World that much more. Older games (such as Rising World) appeal to people because they actually contain what people desire for their actual escapism. From everything, including modern frustrations.

    Waiting on Red51 to update the game with necessary features so I can at least attempt to make more YouTube videos with bigger boats, trains, actual modding, etc. The more he adds, the better this game shall be. Red51 is lucky he was able to get a proper foothold into the market. Still more work to be done. Other games aren't as lucky. They need to be legally attacked by Nintendo, or face some controversy they can survive to even keep going forward. That, or simply make games people actually desire, which games usually tend to suffer from. Sweet Transit was awesome at launch, failing to hold its playerbase going forward turning more into a city builder, not a cute train game. Developers need to know both of what they desire and what gamers desire. A nice happy medium.

    Rising World should count its blessings, be grateful, moving forward without taking things for granted.

    I love it when I learn more about Germany, Norway's dedication to keep Germany's history alive, and for other folks trying to pay their historical respects to Bismarck, among other things.

    - Gneisenau Turret on display in Norway.

    It is fortunate that Norway had the foresight to preserve this important artifact from WW2, instead of scrapping or otherwise destroy it. Hopefully generations from now will be able to see with their own eyes this incredible gun emplacement.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_battleship_Gneisenau

    Azur Lane's recent event introducing three new German warship shipgirls via a side-event 'The Neon City Investigator'. The three vessels (shipgirls) are Admiral Zenker, U-552, & Z13 (AKA Erich Koellner)

    (I'm aware the video is age restricted. For those who feel like adults, behave like adults, and can view adult material can admire some light teases. Nothing too extreme. We live in an overly fragile world. I miss the 1990's & pre-2003 grown-up mentality;) .)

    I love Azur Lane because you're made aware of history and vessels you otherwise wouldn't have, even if the game is overly lewd. Knowing these vessels existed is more power to history, as Norway has embraced. Same with various parts of Japan. It's a shame Canada and the UK fumbled harshly on their museum ships. UK could have boasted historical significance with HMS Warspite. She fought to the very end, refusing to be scrapped. I prefer her more elegant KanColle variation.

    New game called - Ship Explorers - featuring Bismarck, among other vessels.

    We have one user on this forum who admires making ocean liners, this would be for them. They made the Titanic, Olympic, and other vessels. I would love to eventually get around to blue-printing vessels into my world, if I can find a large enough patch of ocean to do so. The detailing on Bismarck is glorious. I could imagine this being in Rising World. That would be glorious, even if firing the turrets would be for simple show.

    History is interesting. I admire the way Asians (Japanese, Chinese, & Koreans) poke around (naval) history. Europe used to be the best at it as well, as noted with Silent Hunter 3.:monocle:

    Oh, thanks for letting me know! Actually it only accepts a single type of dirt atm... we will change that so it will accept all types of dirt

    Awesome. Can't wait to use up the dirt piling up in my storage units after these fixes. I'll have room for stone again. Looking forward to when you mend this issue in a coming hotfix, update, or similar.

    Hmm... so ist means you tried to pick up a chest while the inventory was full? Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce this on my end... but if you run into this issue again, please send a report right when this happens (to do that, open the console and type report, then maybe add some additional information like "cannot pick up item") ;)

    Yes, I tried picking up the chests, and any other furniture item (mainly storage containers) with at least one always lingering behind on the ground. One always stayed. I managed to pick up the other 99%, just not that one stubborn 1%. I let it despawn, to my frustration. I became more cautious of how many I should craft at a time as to not have this issue replicate.

    If you still need a report I can look into trying to replicate it, I'll try it with something that doesn't require ores. Or Creative mode. And I'll do as you've noted, if you still need the logs.

    Do you mean lightning strikes are invisible? Right now they aren't visible if you're inside a building (or more precisely, if the game thinks you're inside a building, which might already be triggered if you're underneath blocks). This isn't directly a bug, but it's still something we will improve with one of the next updates ^^

    Yes. Thunderstorms become "invisible" when you're hiding under terrain itself. I've been carving out a large hill to place an access wall on the edge of it to reach higher heights, and to also act as a defensive structure.

    Not a bug? Cool. Good luck with the update.

    --------

    Speaking of "next updates", are you able to tease anything relating to the next update? I keep being poked and prodded for what's coming up in the next update. If you can't tell, that's fine. I can wait it out. I'm overwhelmed with work, other games, and etc to the point I can wait things out. Figured I'd ask.

    A few issues were noted while working on a few projects on an on-off manner.

    1) Dirt (of any kind) can't be consumed to make loam. It's in the inventory, it however won't be used. If it's using Stone, or other material, it needs to change ASAP.

    2) Chests (and other items) which fly out of inventory from being overencumbered (full inventory) flies onto the floor, staying there. Happened more than once. Claims to be picked up, never is. Can be interacted with, yet refuses to be placed into the player's inventory.

    The item in the above image is the primitive storage. The recently implemented beginner type log chest.

    3) (Unconfirmed) - Thunderstorms have issues when hiding underneath player-made materials. Weather clears, returning once outside of shelter. Same with being under terrain. Thunderstorms may appear finicky. Who knows, maybe that's how they should behave.

    - Handcarts & Horse Drawn Carts:

    I'm aware Red51 noted he was planning to eventually implement carriages attached onto horses, it however is needed for bigger projects. Or maybe to ferry resources from one side to another.

    - Digging out an underground roadway needing to ferry stone & ores to other areas.

    - Hand-pulled carriages from Medieval era.

    Shall be nice to have these later.:nerd:

    The suggestion a group of us had for repairing the mining drill was the ability to forge new drill bits at the anvil and have them get applied like a repair kit that restores the durability of the mining drill. At least until the more advanced repair station gets implemented and even then the drill bits could then just become a required component to building the drill so it wouldn't be a wasted asset to create.

    I was afraid of that, especially seeing as how certain Minecraft Feed The Beast Modpacks handled repairs like that. Sure, if I'm overflowing with resources then I can gladly resort to repairing the drill via parts, new drill bits, and etc.

    Applied like a repair kit? I actually approve of that idea, and new drill bits, and parts. The "wasted asset" has me worried though, but what's mentioned is something I approve of.:thumbup:

    ---

    Edit:

    Forgot to note that in the "future" (whenever Red51 is able), I wouldn't mind seeing an NPC repair guy handle tool repairs (among other things), even relating to drills, or whatever you have needing to repair. Place a stall, have them stationed there, and repair the tools. Or go to a nearby settlement to have it repaired by someone over there. Whichever is closest. Or have automation repair your tools. Anything.

    Whatever works.

    [Bugfix] Fixed items not being repairable at the grindstone

    Even with the hotfix, I'm also saddened I can't edit my tool to go do some mindless terraforming. RIP. Still the same error on steel pickaxe.X(

    ---

    Edit #3:

    Done as James & I noted, and I'm a happy camper now.

    Done! Now back to digging & terraforming. I missed my drill, and I'm glad I can use it again. o7

    Advanced tools (ie mining drill, etc.) can not be repair yet as the developer has stated that he wants a more advanced / interactive method for repairing the advanced tools.

    RIP.

    Was hoping for a more feature-ready compromise until until such advanced methods were ready.

    there is a setting to disable the durability system [New] Item durability is now fully configurable and can optionally also be disabled (see settings -> miscellaneous)

    I'll do just that. I'll store my tools in a special chest in hopes of having them eventually repaired, even if they're noted as being "worn out" & "broken". Would be a shame to throw these tools out.

    I'll just spawn a new set of tools in, toggle it (as noted in your quote) and move on. Thanks.

    (Hopefully that'll loosen the slack on the ball-&-chain on the leg.)

    This one makes me sad. The flaws with this one makes the game feel like it's missing something, or with the sensation I'm not allowed to do something. Makes me feel like I'm wearing a ball-on-a-chain while roaming around my world.... I feel highly limited in what I can do, and sure, that may be an unintentional cause-and-effect to these updates.

    - Shelving my drill. It's now broken, and I now fear I won't be able to repair it at all.

    - But this.... I can't repair, nor sharpen my tools because it's "too damaged".

    What's the point then? I was warned far too late with the yellow-orange notification, and by then it's actually pointless to "sharpen" the tools. I feel I can't play Rising World with these tools being low in durability, let alone being unable to be fixed properly. I understand there may be a fix coming along, but is there any way we can do a work-around, or have the notification pop up prior to a tool being fully broken?

    This saddens me. Good luck getting these repairs, sharpening, and such tuned. Feels unbalanced to me. Makes Rising World feel unplayable, especially with what projects I have in mind. I guess I have to wait a while longer.:sleeping:

    (Not knocking on Red51, I simply feel the airs taken out of my sails on this one.)

    - I'm happy the Ore Detector is fixed. The display is readable again, and it feels awesome again.

    I'll check back again "soon". Good luck!

    Congrats on going main version, but I was hoping to finally have the drill finally be repairable. Was hoping to go back to at least do some mindless terraforming, or build something. I'm happy for your version update, and the new trailer. Here's to hoping we can eventually see fishing, dungeons, trains, and everything else promised (and desired) on the Java & Unity roadmap.

    Fishing is a nice checkpoint to cross, and that shall be a lot of fun.

    Thanks for getting the ore detector fixed, I needed that previously. Shall slowly ease my way back into Rising World again.

    And most importantly, no insults, that is not acceptable!

    Thank you! Now I don't have to be harassed again over trivial nonsense.

    I genuinely respect Deidre, and also Drakonas who makes awesome ocean liners. If they assumed I didn't, they do, and I have to note that.

    RE: HMHS Britannic

    Respect. /salute

    ------

    back to trains.......

    On the bit about "Just play Sim games", I bought Trainz Simulator 2022 and it just isn't good. It feels "old", dated, and weird. Sure, it's neat, it however doesn't hit that itch the way modded Minecraft does with Immersive Railroading, or even (hopefully) Rising World shall. Dovetail game's feel slightly more refined (if broken), and that's saying something when it comes to menus. Maybe the game is fine, and it does have my awesome Canadian National livery train.

    And that's your problem with sims, it just doesn't allow you do what you need to do. Sometimes it's bloated, sometimes it's undercared, or poorly tended to. As I've noted previously, Rising World can easily handle trains well, especially for the reasons I've noted previously........

    - Cargo, something Train sims don't have. Shuttling cargo your way, on your own terms, and properly.

    Currently using boats & horses in Rising World, though the farther something is, the more useful trains shall be. Yes, even underground and connected via bridges. Again, think of the Euro-Tunnel, or linking Japan's Aomori with Hakodate, or how Fukuoka lines need to connect into mainland Japan (linking to Hiroshima).

    With the steam train Red51 has shown in his Trello, and as I've shared in the first post, it shall indeed streamline everything. Get the right people aware of trains and they'll have fun with trains in Rising World. That is, if people actually care about improving Rising World. I'm having my doubts people want to actively sabotage Rising World. It would be a shame to see RW sabotaged over a genuine feature such as trains.

    - Immersive Railroading - V1.12.

    If, and when Red51 can get to trains properly you will see a nice noticeable switch, and influx of people. No joke.

    That's modded Minecraft. Seeing Rising World tackle this would be interesting. Minecraft & hopefully Rising World shall handle trains properly. Waiting to see what Red51 manages to do.:nerd:

    P.S: Waiting on Red51 to implement a way for drills and chainsaws to be fixed of their durability. I brought it up, still waiting.

    Yeah, many plugins broken, including the Teleporter and the Wisp plugins. Consider all the plugins broken. Hope I can have the Wisp plugin back in time.

    Yes, this Update has also added heat/cold sensitivity. If you're still Naked, and that can be so Intense, depending on which Region you're in.

    Wearing this. It seems to not be effective in either cold or hot weather. I have to test it out, it however isn't effective during the rain. Shuttling many supplies around.

    Happy we do have the heat/cold additions, and seasons. Steadily checking each, everything out. :D

    Had one crash, though no log was saved. I'm assuming it auto-sent a log to Red51.

    - Ore detector doesn't show text of what ore you're seeking.

    Messing around with the new features currently. Being near a furnace warms you up a heck of a lot, and being in the rain really hurts you. Almost like acid rain. Thankfully now have storage for my sail boat, something I'm happy. Even able to apply decorations on my sail. Nice!

    I was hoping for fishing because someone suggested it on the Steam forum side, and I'm bummed out there's no fishing. I'll however attempt to make use of everything else. I'm admiring the new primitive furniture set though. Slow and steady going through everything.

    I'm thankful I have my chainsaw back, I however noticed I won't be able to repair the drill. It's now under 'worn', and it appears we can't mend those items.
