The Java edition is not going to be developed anymore, I believe.

Unfortuantely we have no plans to change the furnace in the Java version... I'm sorry
Actually we don't have enough time to focus on the Java version, because there is still so much work to do to get the new version ready... There may be a small bugfix update for the Java version in the near future though.
