I would like to suggest that maybe see at least one car or a big steam truck for cargo similar to the game Eco. I am not sure how that will work for the devs if it's not possible then I understand but if we can see one car/truck sometime this year that would be great.

Its planned (as many other things). Though difficult due to the fully destructible world. I think Trains are going to arrive before cars.

Okay I don't mind waiting I just would like to see use of roads other than horses, but trains would be cool as well. I hope it makes it this year.

honestly, i am not sure about this. updates on such a type of game and with the limited ressources mean updates roughly every 4 month (till now). we can therefore expect 1-2 more updates this year and the content for those is already huge. like dungeons, trains, etc. i would recommend to prepare cars / trucks won´t make it into the game this year. i hope im wrong but i wouldn´t put a bet on it

Personally I agree with Avanar that cars / trucks won't make it in this year. Red51 already has it planned that there are more regions and biomes to add, the rest of the water mechanics to be implemented, persistent item placement, and some other core mechanics that really are the rest of the foundation for everything else.
I think the next vehicle type we see implemented will be something like minecarts as those are the basis for trains and also probably some type of transport ship.
