Gold in desert

Not sure for digging, but there is more then enough on the surface. and you only need it for the piano and one or two more things, so you don't really need much. just go around and watch for rocks with yellow lines...

The best gold source is deep cavern around -500. Here you will find many exposed gold vein to easy collect them. Deep caves is a alternative too to find exposed gold vein.

It’s spawns at almost all levels, but as Bamse said, the deep water caverns between-480 and -500 will yield the most gold. You can simply walk around and find it on the walls.

I prefer personally to dig for gold, because I can also dig for sulphur at same time. Overall not a fan of breaking rocks on surface ,when I play survival. It can spoil the view.

There's exposed sulfur in the caverns as well!

Yes, yes. This is why I called gold worthless. Or you can make explosives. I place and store dynamite on my walls, so I can handle explosives with care. One misclick can blow my whole cabin up. So immersive!

I know the topic is gold but i want to say something about copper. I hope it will be in the game when we have electricity. And you have to dig for it (don't get it to easy)

I really like the corroded copper texture that is in the game already - absolutely needs added to mining even before electricity for just making cool statues in survival.
