Crashing on start?

The next update will be available between Thursday, October 30 and Friday, October 31!
  • Hello! I was enjoying the game, thank you very much.

    But I've run into a problem. When I start the game via Steam or the Desktop Icon, or even running the .exe, a white screen displays for about 5 seconds and then closes.

    The game doesn't start. I tried running it as Administrator, same result.
    In the Player.log, I see this:

    [Physics::Module] Initialized fallback backend.

    [Physics::Module] Id: 0xdecafbad

    In the Windows Application Event Viewer, I see this:

    Any idea on what I can do to resolve it?

    Thanks! :)

  • Try to google "ntdll.dll exception code 0xc0000005" - no quotes.

    May be a solution for you in that search.

  • Thanks, did that. Ran both sfc and dism, nothing found.
    It's strange because it ran fine yesterday, and nothing has 'changed' or updated on my system in the last week.
    Not sure why it's failing now. I've even tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game, same results.
    Just not sure where to go from here.:)

  • Hmm, Ok - I upgraded the drivers for my RTX 4080 last week.
    Are you suggesting that I 'roll back' a version to see if that's causing it?

    I've tried disabling any 'unnecessary' running applications, (ICue, Discord, StreamDeck, etc.)
    Even made sure Steam was set to not run the overlays.

    Still same issue. I'll have to look at rolling the GPU drivers back, I've never had to do it before.

    Thanks for the suggestions/help!!

  • When you done the uninstallation, did you check that EVERYTHING was removed? 9 times out of 10 just running the uninstaller doesn't remove everything and in some cases it will leave some files behind (for when you reinstall) these would normally be the config files, you could try just remove that file from your Rising World folder / New version (just cut and paste) to the desktop and when you run the game again it will be like the first time you have run the game! and in the worst case that that still didn't help just paste the original file back again.

    Now Im not saying that doing this will help, but in some games it can.
