In my steam setting I do not have a setting to "NOT" upgrade Rising world on my desktop.
Has anyone found a workaround?

There is unfortunately no setting in Steam to turn off updates. You can only change the update behaviour to only update the game when launching it (to do that, right click on the game -> Properties -> Updates -> select "Wait until I launch the game").
AFAIK the only true solution to prevent updates is to switch to Offline mode in Steam. Then you won't get any updates, but of course this affects all games.

The only game I play these days is Rising World.😁
So silly question going offline will I still be able to play RW???
You can play sp worlds offline with rw.
But... Why wouldn't you want an update ? ![]()
Because no update no matter from who is perfect and I like to see the bugs get worked out first!😁
After the bugs quit dropping THEN I update.

Yes, you can still play RW in offline mode (but only in singleplayer, because Steam provides no way for authentication in offline mode) ![]()

When the update is ready, I will update the unity_previous Beta branch (right now it's still at 0.9.1, with the update tomorrow it will be updated to the current version). If you change the download behaviour for RW in Steam to "Wait until I launch the game" (as mentioned above) and you see a pending update, just switch to the beta branch (make sure the description says 0.9.2.1).
But even if you download the new update accidentally, you can always switch back to the old beta branch (just make sure to not load a world with the new version, because then you won't be able to load it with an older version anymore)
