Hi, i prefer prevent you guys, my English suck (I’m french) but I’ll do my best for describe my problem.
I just bought the game from steam like two hours before, i can't launch a new world or even connecting to a multiplayer server.
The loading stops at 10% and the game shut off.
I’ve try some change in graph configuration but nothing work.
I even try to virtualize a win7 and install the game on it but still don't work
I would try to use my other graphic card to run the game but i cannot even launch the game console (Tried the keys given even F12 but no one work)
Im on Ubuntu 14.04
Got a Nvidia GTX850M and a chipset intel
Intel i7-4710HQ
and 6Gb memory

Please have a look if there is a file called "errorlog" or "hs_err_pid" in your game directory. If you find such a file, please upload it here or post it here or on http://pastebin.com

I’ve done all my updates so i thought i okay with that.

its using the intel gpu that might be your problem you need to set the game to play using your Nvidia GTX850M gpu also it looks to be out of video memory i think the game may run on that gpu bad but it might run the only problem is in bios you may have set the video memory far to low for the game witch needs 1gig or more

Due to lots of problem in my first install I cannot switch my graphics card so i format evrything an run a proper install of ubuntu 15.04,
Now my Nvidia GTX is used but still got an error, now i cannot launch the game. He fail when the white screen "Jiw Games" Pop.

this is a problem ive seen before i think it might be to do with steam running this game in 32bit it needs to be 64bit

did you install 64bit java or 32bit ? 64bit java link for ubuntu https://www.java.com/en/download/help/linux_x64_install.xml
also what ubuntu did you install the i386 or the amd64 if you did i386 i would reinstall this with the amd64 with 64bit java the amd64 works fine on the intel cpu its just a naming thing that does not mean AMD only.

Hey my friends! I have the same problem..
When i want to create a world, it stuck at 0-5% and then it dont make anything. I cantop the process with ESC, so the game isnt freeze.
But i can connect to servers without problems.
Ps: you can make spoilers and copy the log in that!:) tu es bien en l'england, mais mon est... -

I have to change my graphics drivers and the card used (Intel -> To Nvidia) it worked really bad with open-sources drives so i have to use Nvidia Drivers...
I swaped my os (i386) to x64 but i think the graphic drivers made the game work.
Maybe the swap of java version can made it too? -
