new install game resolution settings problem

  • Hi
Just installed game from Steam. On startup the setting screen is in window. My system recommends 1920x1080. Full screen set could not access any options at bottom of screen. managed to start game in window only but crashed. tried lowr display settings. same problem - full screen made access to option buttons at the bottom and rifht side unavailable. Subsequent efforts following restarts also crashed game .
Windows 10 / AMD HD 7700 / Radeon R7 200. Never had these problems with any other game. Any advice?

  • There are some problems with AMD cards. Several threads in this forum, maybe you find some information for you or you try to start game frameless.
If you've got an errorlog, pls post it here.

indeed there are AMD driver bugs that cause problems

but This may be caused by Windows display scaling. Please try this: Go to your game directory (rightclick on rw in steam -> properties -> local files -> browse local files), then rightclick on the "risingworldx64.exe", select "Properties", go to the "Compatibility" tab and check the "Disable Display Scaling On High DPI Settings" box. This should solve the resolution issue and the offset mouse.

also for the crashing you can eventually try to open the "config.properties" file in your game directory and set "graphic_instancing" to false. In most cases this should solve the problem, or at least cause it to crash less frequently.

If at first your code does not work call it version 0.1 with the odd bug

  • I had this same exact issue, its a really easy fix thats outlined in one of the stickied threads. Simply find the .exe in your games' install directory. Right click and click properties, then go to compatiblity tab. Check the box for compatibility mode for windows 8. Then check off the Disable Display Scaling on High DPI Settings, that is the key to fixing your issue, I can guarantee it. I don't know what these guys are talking about with AMD and blah blah.
