missing building options?

Hopefully someone can help me.

I feel like im missing something (probably obvious). In peoples photos I can see them making arches, vaulted roofs, curved brick sections etc but I cant figure out where to make anything but cube bricks.

Also, when I try to make stair cases I cant see how to offset the bricks by say half so that i can move up and down them - they always place 1 block up or down and i have to jump up them.

I have made every type of workbench and I cant orientate bricks like i can planks so im lost

size the planks and beams same as blocks and use them for the arches.

after making the arch, blueprint it and you can use it wherever you wish.

not difficult necessarily but time consuming and i don't really want to have to mess around with commands and stuff so ill just build around it until they put in some craftable curves like that small block one thats already in game.

No commands. Just shift, rctrl, pgup/dn and arrow keys.

It's tricky. But totally worth it

yes and no.

planks and beams are in the vanilla-version only available for wood-textures via the sawbench.

but the plugin "planks and beams" (which is supported by the dev of RW) allows to spawn these in any texture you can find ingame, without any commands. the good thing is that, for the purpose of realism / roleplaying, it involves also costs (1 stone for stone textures, 1 wood for wood textures, etc).
it also allows to spawn triangles, which are not craftable via the sawbench, and to spawn also the windowframes in any texture you like

The console commands are very easy to use.
If you are allowed to use F6 to look for the Id's or you know them by heart, that's what I do.

You can also repaint a wooden part or block in any color you like with the command "editc texture Id"
