Haha, the barking 'crow' will be replaced, I'm kind of annoyed by it, too ![]()
Give us a little bit of time to rework the sound system…

According to wiktionary 'strafe' originated in WWI "to attack (ground troops, for example) with a machine gun or cannon from a low-flying aircraft." As a noun, it means, "an attack of machine-gun or cannon fire from a low-flying aircraft."
It originated from the german word for punishment.http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Talk:strafe
IIRC Wolfenstein 3D already had strafing.

Will you be making ambient background tunes for different areas, or situations. Like different moods for the surface, or underground? In dungeons? Just curious.
We have been talking about this. We don't want to overwhelm the player with too much music, but instead making it really special when it comes up. It should really creep up on you in certain situations. We'll see how dynamic we can make it
There will be an 'sound update' at some point in the not too distant future, where the sound engine will get a nice tune up as well as adding a shit ton of new sounds and – possibly – music.
Thank you. red51 told me it is this music, in case anyone else wants to know: http://audiojungle.net/item/epic-adventure/9562866
Very cool! I'll put it in the first post. -
No, that is stock music. I'm sure red can tell you what it is. It certainly is very cool!
I'm more of an ambient soundtrack rather than an epic orchestral soundtrack guy

…are coming (believe it or not)

Well if you break a wooden block, it would be nice to here a wooden sound/chipping sound.
Apart from that, there is no sound, if you get a plank to break or any other non stone material(exept blocks).
It's in the works!
the inventory switching sound is a bit loud....I like it,but it seems kinda loud.
We might eventually replace that sound for a more subtle one, actually. But we've all gotten a bit used/attached to it, though.Just an idea but are we going to get the ability to play our favorite music in game with also having items like stereos and record players with a mini UI system to select the titles we want to play?
Great idea, but it's probably more of a single player feature due to copyright woes and it's also potential noise pollution once trolls pick up on it

Another one of those things we have set our eyes/ears on! I agree it takes away some of the immersiveness.
We have talked about possible solutions, we'll soon tackle this to work on neater solution. -
Haha, ancient (no pun intended) thread

Thanks guys!Yes, we'll work on some of those issues, adding lots of new sounds and replacing some of the crappier ones. We will also take a closer look at the timing as well. This will probably happen once all animals and monsters are out of the way (there's so much stuff in the pipeline, though).

Amazing work!

This is a bit outrageous… but I had a lot of fun going through backups of an older world I have been working on for a few months.
It felt really weird walking around in those older versions of that world, as if I was traveling back in time.Knowing that there's so much in the pipeline for the game right now, it is very unlikely that a feature like this will see the light of day any time soon. I just thought I'd throw that in…

This is going to be awesome

-
Animals you say?

-
Excellent

-
LOL.
That would be a funny idea. Oh, actually there is a possible name for it: "IDEA"; you know, to avoid copyright claims
-
Awesome, it's growing!

-
Those flowers look awesome!

…please feel free to throw in suggestions and report issues you have with the sound in the game here.
