yes change "game_debug_console=false" from false to "true". Will upload the log file the next time it happens.
here you go.
When does it say it can't authentice, when starting the game, or when going into a server or singleplayer?

For the one from Steam and for mac: I have to download it on steam right?
If you bought the game on Steam, right-click the current one you have, click Delete Local Files, then re-download it from your Game Library.
This is something I keep getting, then for no reason it stops and I can join.
Seems you're not authenticating to the HIVE.
Do you know how to enable logging?
I played a few hours last night. I was only able to see maybe 6 servers (there may have just been only 6). I didn't really see many issue at all though most servers were just running a few people in them. I did fall through the world a few times but I don't know if that is a network issue or a known bug. Anyways for the most part it seemed pretty stable. Good job.
Known bug.
Changed:
- Country flags (geoip)
- Replaced locked column to an icon after the server name
- Last server status indicated by an Up / Down label before the IP
- Changed out of date server (version) indicated by red row, to highlighting the version number instead.
Going out of town today. Don't expect I'll have a chance to make more changes until next week.
Good idea. How about a +1 or Like?
A +1 would be good and eventually able to sort by the top-voted.
Looking good so far.
Maybe you could implement a basic 'voting' system? Just an up/down to see how it'd go.
I love those textures, it really fits well into the game, too. Which is a bonus. Keep it up!
I'd say stick with Java. It's cross-compatible with just about every system. Heck, even televisions and mobiles, to a point.
i've been on 3-4 diff times within the last 2 hrs.runs good but after 15-20 mins. the connection error shows up.
Quit Rising World, then go to: steam/steamapps/commons/risingworld
Open the config.properties file in a text editor, preferably Notepad++, then change game_debug_console to 'true', open up Rising World now.
A new window will also appear which outputs the server log.
Once you see the error, close Rising World and a log file will be created inside the Rising World folder under Logs, open up that file, paste it into PasteBin, then give the link to it here so I can check.

I don't know of any others yet. That was provided by one of the devs a week ago or so. Definitely enough information to tie player accounts to web accounts.
Well I can definitely see some useful information in there that could be used with several web-based projects, particularly so on a servers own website. Such as displaying the 'live' version of the server on their website, rather than modifying it manually, as well as showing who's online and how many.
Yes we will change it. Especially as soon as the offline-mode for Steam works. We will save your account name after the first game start on your harddrive and use this as a fallback in the future.
Perfect! Check Steam chat by the way.
All of this can be done without extending LuaJ. The game server already provides enough information about the game server via the http port (the port you specify to run the game on - 1, e.g. game port = 30500, http port = 30499).

Will be interesting to see what can come out of this game.
Once things are more 'stable', e.g: less modifications, I'll consider getting into the developing side.

Wow dude. That's all I'm saying.
The reason I see this coming into play, or one of the reasons, is with server-list websites. To register the votes from a database, or get some nice statistics.
Another reason could be to store server statistics on an external database, such as the amount of players, to display on a website.
One other could be to 'sync' users between the server and for example, a forum.
Ok so if I avoid trying pick the logs up fast this problem should be less likely to happen or perhaps increase the length of time it takes for it to happen? Still a bug though and perhaps when that gets fixed we will see much less connection issue's.
Not sure about it been a connection issue on my end as I place a lot of multiplayer games (some of which are like F1 2014 where there is no dedicated server) and I have never had a connection problem in any of those games.
I've made a note of the issue with @red51 - hopefully some bug testing can get done and we'll see if this is a bug.
This should only happen when it fails to connect to the 'hive' server, if I understand your issue correctly.
Are you still having issues after updating the game on Steam?
Thanks, I should have been more clear I was showing Absalom I couldn't see his server....which i can now.
Ah, okay. Glad you can now.
This is your computers username, we don't have any private information about any player (only nickname and email). It is used as a fallback when connecting to the hive was not possible. Usually in this case you should not be able to connect to a server (as long as hive_verification is true, should be by default).
Maybe allow us to set a fallback name in our Settings and use that rather than the computer name? That would be more logical and privacy-friendly.
