So, I have quite a few ideas for scripts that Lua coders could create, but they rely on being able to create a database connection and pull data from that database.
Is this functionality possible in Lua?

When connecting to other servers, do you receive any errors? If so, please repeat the above steps I gave you, whilst connecting to those servers, so that we can see the errors for that specific issue.

I've always used one single hard-drive to run my computer off of, but the other day I ordered a 1TB hard-drive to go along with my 500GB one currently, so that I'm running off of two hard-drives.
I am planning to either: run Windows and all my programs off one, and my games off of the other, or run everything on one, and record videos to the other.
Do you use a single hard-drive or multiple?
ok sweet!
We believe it is part of a known multiplayer issue.
Some more extensive bug-testing is taking place in the next 24-48 hours to find the cause and resolve it, expect a fix as soon as possible.
Hey @Animatrix
Quit Rising World, then go to: steam/steamapps/commons/risingworld
Open the config.properties file in a text editor, preferably Notepad++, then change game_debug_console to 'true', open up Rising World now.
A new window will also appear which outputs the log.
Now try connecting to a few different servers, wait till the errors appear, then go back to the Multiplayer menu, try another server, etc. Once you have done everything, quit Rising World, then go to the Rising World Folder, then Logs, copy all the text in the log file to PasteBin and pass the link here.
Perfect.
The issue is being looked into now - as I am connecting to your server, but the client still tells me it cannot connect, even though a connection was successful.
Doing some bug-testing with red now.
Well, It looks like they are at least planning to add explosives at some point - I've managed to spawn myself a few sticks of inert dynamite through the console.
Hell, they said they were going to go up to a contemporary level of technology. I certainly would not complain if they decided to add bulldozers, road graders, and excavators. *That* is definitely substantial progression there if that's what you want... Expensive machines with intricate parts that require expensive fuel to operate.
I would love machinery like that! That would make a truly complete game.
reply done try join
Now exit the game, go to the Logs folder, copy the entire text to PasteBin from the latest log file, then send it here for me.

Once everything is open and you're on your singleplayer world, reply here, I'll try to join, I'll reply if/when it fails, then you close the game after my reply, and a log file will be created inside the Rising World folder under Logs, open up that file, paste it into PasteBin, then give the link to it here so I can check.
well try join now
Seems to be 'working' now - just an issue preventing connections which I'm talking to red about right now to see what's going on. Will get back to you ASAP.
TCP first, then repeat it for UDP, so that you cover both.
ok ill do that now
Alright, after that, you will need to restart Rising World, so that Firewall can allow the port connection through.
windows 7
Click the Start button, go to Control Panel, select Security, then Windows Firewall.
At the side, click 'Advanced Settings'.
Now choose 'Inbound Rules'.
Under Actions, choose 'New Rule'.
Select Port, click Next.
Inside 'Specific Local Ports', type this exactly:
Click Next.
Select 'Allow the connection'.
Click Next.
Choose the network type, usually Private, but it might be best to choose Private and Public.
Click Next, then for the name type 'RisingWorld'.
Click Finish.
Should now work... if not, then, uh, must be a bug, surely...
i would just do a dedicated server but i dont know how to host that stuff or server restarts or anything im sure thats where people just lag out in most servers so i just would rather a simple setup but obviously its not that simple lol
It is possible that everything is set-up correctly but a bug is preventing me connecting, as the game does have some multiplayer issues currently that are being fixed in the next update.
I'm pretty sure more tools will be added in the future - however, as it's only an early-access at the moment, they are focusing on the core mechanics of the game, rather than the amount of items themselves.
ok restarted game and in singleplayer again
For the 'Protocol', are you able to change that to Any? Rather than a separate one for each?
http://gyazo.com/623cbd0512d436fb1a0f3ef9b5acfffc ok that there?
Yep, that's perfect. Now restart Rising World, load up your world again and tell me when you're ready.
