However, creating a ladder out of beams will not make it behave like a ladder.
@red51
Look at it this way, you have a free QA team!
I just thought of something. The stats server may not know what the correct value is so its setting itself to 0 as a placeholder which would be the date in 1970.
As long as Windows is set to sync the clock to remote servers and if your timezone setting is correct, then your Windows firewall should make the correct ports open on your PC
It wouldn't hurt to check that port 37 on both TCP and UDP are open on your router.

what do you mean @zfoxfire? to edit a chunk so that it gets converted to a new "biome"-type of thing?
In theory that is possible with the API I think
I think it is possible in theory as well. But I'm wondering if terrain in the Rising World version was generated by algorithm or done manually.
The image I linked is from Minecraft. However, I remember a picture similar designed in Rising World
I don't remember who but someone reproduced this in Rising World a few months ago
The image above is generated by a mod called Terrain Control. I'm curious if something like this might actually be feasible to do now in Rising World. The API seems to support reading and writing chunk data so that combined with a few custom entries in each chunk might be able to pull this off. What does everyone else think?
Oddly enough I get that error whenever I upload from a screenshot folder in Rising World. If I upload from another location then its fine. Probably some special character in the file path that the forum does not like.
in the night of the fullmoon... yaeh, one of them three... i took a deep look into my fortune teller pond and saw the master of jiw games playing halo
in my opinion, he played excessivly halo in his days and as he brainstormed over a good name for his company, he remembered his glorious days
Was he wearing a red flannel shirt? We're still trying to guess as to which of the new character models portrays our mighty developer the best. In general, it would be nice to put some pictures to names. For now these people of Men of Mystery...
sounds like the time set on your server is wrong. january 1 1970 is the beginning of unix time and nearly every server bases its time of the number of seconds that have passed since that day.
Atleast nowadays you can easily write a hotfix and push it out to a million consumers. Back then once that code is written to cartridge rom you're done. I imagine quality control was more of a thing back then in the pre-internet days.
Zero Wing is the name of a game with dialogue poorly translated from Japanese to English. You may be familiar with it from the "All your base are belong to us" craze about 15 years ago. Its a good example of how without knowledge of the language, you'll just do a word for word translation that doesn't actually make sense. My lack of knowledge of the various uses of the word "Spiel" just demonstrates that.

Where did you read it? Jäger in Welten makes not that much sense to me.
But the translation is right.
I don't know any German so anything I say is a direct word-for-word translation so yeah, it probably doesn't make sense. Ever played Zero Wing?
I've already ruled out Red's initials since I know his name. It's not that. and I figured "Hunter in the World" would seem appropriate for a survival/crafting game but I'm really just taking stabs in the dark. I am also assuming the acronym is German but I could be wrong. "games" in German is spielt so maybe the acronym is English afterall.
Maybe JIW means nothing. I once asked Red what "Red51" means and apparently it was something random he picked for a screen name.
I'm guessing Hunter in Worlds (Jäger in Welten)
Rather than guess at it and completely butcher a language I do not speak, I will simply ask; What does JIW mean?
Wow! you had @lucien.schuenke and @red51 watching your live stream. Very cool
Yeah, It's been a bit of time that has passed but I'm pretty sure Red mentioned something about tiers of crafting stations. I just remember it was somewhere around the time that primitive stone tools came up in discussion. In addition to a stone axe and a fire, we might have other simple stone-age tools which I'm hoping will include a tiny furnace and mortar and pestle), iron age (most of what we have right now), modern age (tier 2 and maybe an electronics station and a fabricator).
Just to clarify, I know absolutely nothing about a mortar and pestle. I cannot recall any official mentioning of such a tool. I really hope that one does come because that would be key to making herbal teas and gunpowder (since we need to break down the charcoal into a powder).
