Before making a decision I do sneak over to the cabin in a way that the cabin will block my being seen by the first boar.
The picture below shows that there is indeed a chest inside the cabin and the chest may hold something I really want.

I could sneak right up to the cabin and perhaps open the chest while standing outside the cabin.

However that will not work as I need to be standing in front of the chest which means opening the chest inside the cabin with a wild boar just 10 feet away!

If I decide to kill the boar it may charge me when it sees me.
At the moment it has not seen me from my vantage point above it.

    So what do I do?

There is a pond just a few feet behind me...... I can quickly run forward...grab the boars attention and then dash back through the pond and hopefully drown the boar when it cant clamber out of the water. Problem is boars are nasty and there is a very high chance I will get injured from those razor sharp tusks.

I then notice on the left of the pond is a fairly big hill. I go up the hill and it allows me to look about 30 feet directly down towards the cabin from a higher elevation.

Looking at the cabin I hear the boar directly in front of me as it snorts and what sounds like stomping noises.
The boar is somewhere between me and the cabin.....but where?

As I watch the cabin I then see the boar.....and I have highlighted it in the picture below with a yellow arrow.

The dark brown shape the yellow arrow is pointing to is the boar....It is inside the cabin!

Now I have a problem. What do I do?

I can sneak up to the cabin and hope the boar is trapped inside and cant get out to bore me.... maybe I can kill it with my pick axe.
The boar got inside the cabin so there is no reason at all why it can't rush out of the cabin and charge me with it's tusks.

The problem is while I am doing this the first boar may see me and charge me from behind!

Oh this has just suddenly got very complicated and there may not even be a chest in the cabin at all.

    What do I do?

The following is one of the reasons I love Rising World.

I was scouting the area looking for a place to start a mine well away from the camp.
I then suddenly come across an abandoned cabin not too far from camp.

As I begin moving towards the cabin I hear a sound of something moving through the grass and it is nearby.

I stop and listen and all of a sudden I hear a wild boar snorting to the left and front of me.

I then see the wild boar some distance away to the right and further down the hill.
Yellow arrow in the picture below shows where the wild boar was last spotted moving away.

However even though the boar is far away and the cabin is right in front of me there is a problem.
If the boar is down on the right why am I hearing grass moving and a boar snorting close by on the left and front direction.

I check my headphones.....yes...left headphone is over the left ear.

Then it dawns on me...... a second boar......its mate!

It reminds me of the first Jurassic Park movie where the one character in the movie was distracted by a Velociraptor that he could see ahead and as he takes aim with his gun he then sees a 2nd Velociraptor only a few feet away from him on his left.

    A Velociraptor Trap. Game over!

So my problem is I have a cabin only meters away from me but somewhere between me and the cabin is a wild boar perhaps just on the other side of this little ridge. Will he charge me if he hears me or only when he sees me?

And me without any weapons !!!!

When moving through the forest to this area I hear a wild boar near by and stopped to work out which direction the sound was coming from.... I use headphones for this game.

I worked out that while I was moving across the slope of a hill the wild boar was somewhere above me....possibly at the top of the hill. Without weapons I needed to keep away from the boar so made sure I did not go any further up the hill.

By moving slowly, listening for wild boar or bears and moving away from their sound you can hopefully stay out of their way and stay alive.

I find scanning the forest around you every 10 steps or so will allow you to see them moving in the forest ahead long before they see you.

Use your senses of sight and hearing to find them before they find you.

The area in the last couple of posts was missing a supply of food so I moved on....

I have now found an even better seed which starts me out about 50 feet away from a small lake which has a cabin right next to it. The cabin has a wooden chest in it and when I looked in the chest it had an axe in it....... not much use as I already have one.

So I used the same seed and created a new game......this time instead of an axe the chest had a sickle in it...... excellent.

Having found a sickle changes the gameplay as I now do not need to create a smelter and find iron and so on ......while travelling across the land to find a camp I can collect food and seeds using the sickle so that by the time I reach the forest with a nice lake to setup camp I will have a huge number of food and seed.

By the time I reached the area shown in the picture below my inventory was full. I had removed the chest from the first cabin so now I have my area for the cabin I put all my food and seed in the chest.

At this stage I have perhaps several weeks of food but for this survival challenge I now need to create a farm. Problem is no stone or caves nearby and if I wander too far I will meet a bear or wild boar without weapons.

So to get a farm going I need to create my own mine by digging into the ground and looking for stone and then iron ore and get to the stage where I can create a hoe.

Once I have that I can then start planting crops.

Now in case it takes a while to find iron and eventually have the crops growing, I made sure along the way that I picked up apple tree saplings so as soon as I cleared away the tall grass using the sickle I have planted the 3 apple saplings so that I have them growing while looking for iron.

To try the seed I am now using from now on copy and paste the following into Rising World as is (case sensitive)

    Best Forest seed 001

I have also added a lot more detail about this seed here
    http://steamcommunity.com/app/…ns/0/1470841715942008052/

As you said using dynamite will create large holes and blow up anything in that area such as stone and resources.....hence the need to be careful with placing it.

I think the initial idea is that using dynamite will help those people who do not want to spend time digging tunnels...... the dynamite blows a hole and you might then see ore in the surrounding walls.

With using dynamite in singleplayer mode there are probably a number of uses..... there are probably many uses for those with imagination.

For example I spend my time in forests surrounded by dense trees and no mines..... I discovered that will small boulders if I used my pick axe on them I might find a cave hidden beneath. I have not tried dynamite yet but for my adventures in Rising World I would find a boulder with perhaps ore on it, extract the ore and then place dynamite and see what is below. Perhaps dig a hole 10 feet down and make sure you can get out quickly to create a much deeper hole from the explosion.

I think in my case I would use dynamite not in existing tunnels or caves but say for example in this forest I am currently in I would use dynamite in an area to create a quarry to find stone (in this area I do not see any stone in close proximity) or to create the beginning of a mine.

All over the map you see areas where there is a cave with the only access as a vertical drop...... only way to get in there is to dig down with a pick axe. Perhaps here you can place the dynamite at the top near the vertical drop to the cave system and blow away the stone providing an easier access to the cave system.

The following is just a wish list of what I hope to see in the future for Rising World allowing more use of dynamite
    =============================================================================================

Hopefully down the track Rising World will introduce game play where for example you are in a desert and there are no lakes around you. When it rains the rain will fill in puddles where there are slight indentations in the ground. However with enough rain there could be a small water source created when the rain fills in a much bigger hole...example a few feet wide. Perhaps in the future you can create a dam in the area of your camp by using dynamite to blow up a big hole in the ground and wait for rain. The developer could eventually have the water level in the dam dropping every day when there is no rain and the water level increasing in the dam when there is rain. This could be a fun survival challenge if the weather system is developed further so sometimes you have a week worth of rain so you have flooding ...or you have a drought where there is no rain for weeks.

Setup a new camp by a large lake........... not much chance of bears here and this will be a break from the constant threat of bear attack.

The aim of this camp area is to setup a farm to grow crops, trees and breed cows and pigs.

Where I am at the moment is standing on an island looking back at the mainland with a natural bridge linking to the island. The water is not deep where the rocks cross the water and I can walk across the shallow water without getting my ankles wet..... only a few centimeters of water in the stone bridge area.

The cabin and some crops will be built on the island with main crops and animals being across the other side of the water.

This is a picture of my camp setup in the middle of bear infested woods........

I hiked through the woods until I found a small dam which had a small outcrop of rock nearby only 10 feet by 10 feet.

Cut down a few trees and setup torches for night lighting and then used my pick axe on the small rock outcrop which you can see in the middle of the picture..... to find after my 2nd hit a huge cave below. You can see the orange glow of the cave below the rock outcrop.

Grabbed lots of stone digging down into the cave, found a lot of iron and coal and built the anvil, the small smelter and the scythe.

The seed I used for this is 010820171451 which puts you in a forest with plenty of food around

Moral to this story..... no need to spend hours looking for a cave next to a lake for your camp as I often dig into a very small outcrop of rock and find a cave system from there.

An area full of trees , food and cotton but no water and no stone or much needed ores.

So a trip heading inland heading away from the ocean and I stimble across a lake and a mine.
No ores evident but a large mine with many tunnels.

So while my main camp is in the trees I am setting up a secondary camp where I will have my smelter and workshop and do my mining.

The problem is without a map I will not find the way to and from the mine easily.

So a trail of 5 campfires have been left as beacons to guide the way.... spaced out so that the glow of the light can just be seen over the horizon as shown below.

5 beacons tells exactly how far away my workshop area will be from the cabin.

I did try going back to the base camp last night but as I approached the camp I heard a bear..... so I turned around and headed back to the last beacon I had passed whose light lit up enough of the area so I could see any bear coming my way.

The area is full of useful items..... cotton.....hemp.....watermelons......at least a dozen tomato plants......
No bears as yet but we did get close to a fox which scampered off when it saw us.

But with so many trees around us it is only a matter of time before we meet a bear.

Venturing into this area I move slowly as the bears will be on you before you know it.
So knowing this is bear infested territory and that I have no weapons each step is taken with caution listening for bears in the area.

This is actually a nice area as there is plenty of food to be found as I move through the forest.

The picture shows 2 tomato plants ready for picking..... I have just picked a tomato plant seconds before taking this picture.

Though the last picture is a nice area I prefer to find a heavy forest area Daniel Boone style.

So with the sea always to my right I set out as the sun sets and travel through the night collecting food , coal and ore as I travel along the coast.

As morning arrives I reach a huge forest area which is where my camp will be based.
As usual with the areas I go.....bear country.

When starting a new game I like to use a select method to determine the seed I will play.... and to do this I use the current date and time.

You can use the date format you use but here in Australia I use ddmmyyyy format

The seed I have used this morning is 270720170414am which of course is 4:14am on 27th July 2017.

After about 5 minutes of wandering I found this scenery where I will setup camp.

How to play in extreme survival mode.

Want a challenge? Are you finding the game easy because you have all the food you need?
Well forget food.....lets look at water instead which is far more important to survive.

Before starting a new game go into settings, click on water and remove ponds.

Try playing with the only water available being from food you eat or if you happen across lakes or oceans.

I do not mind ponds but sometimes I find there are too many and by removing them completely you then get an extreme survival challenge to find water during the game.

When you do find water such as a lake you can then setup camp nearby....otherwise start growing crops quickly so you have food that gives you water.

If you find a cabin, you may find a map.....nice and easy way to find water you have already found in your travels.
    Running low on water?

Just look at the map and look for a lake you have found.

But then that is too easy.

Tell you what....click on settings / dungeon before starting a new game and get rid of cabins.

Now not only will you have to survive without plenty of water around you will not have a map to find it at any time through the game.

Welcome to Rising World Extreme Survival Daniel Boone Style....

Made my way into another thick forest with plenty of food supplies and found a watering hole to setup my camp.
Only one problem..... there is a bear really close by.

With this game you are able to track the bear and work out what kind of danger you are in with it being in the area.

When I hear the bear I turn right until I can hear the bear on the left.
Then turn left until you can start hearing the bear slightly on the right.

Use this to creep closer keeping an eye out for any movement in the trees or bushes ahead of you. Directly going towards the sound of the bear should mean it will not attack from the sides.

Using this method you can then set your eyes on the bear and decide what you want to do.

Shortly after taking the prior picture I went the wrong way and ended up falling into a deep black crevice from which I did not survive.

Began a new map and using the seed RadioRealm2017 I began the map standing next to a tree in a cold environment....the tree just had one apple on it.

However there were plenty of potatoes lying around and I collected 32 potatoes before heading off into a much warmer biome.

Going down a steep vertical shaft looking for possible treasure at the other end. Hugging the walls and going down slowly is the only way and the only problem being not knowing if I will be able to get up the same way. I could very well die down here.

The picture below shows what looks like an average every day tunnel in the rocks.

However looks are deceiving and this is actually a vertical drop and one bad move I am going to have a long fall suffering in a very bad breakage of limbs and even death.

This cave system is immense with so many tunnels snaking through it that you have to take a chance exploring every part of it....even the vertical drops.
