Thanks @WalterDasTrevas, I know how to use those things, still no idea what is "world, local and legacy" modes.

A quick test confirmed that all the rotation modes now work as expected.
Thanks @red51!What are the rotation modes? how you change them? Is there any doco on it?
I find hard to find a place where all the documentation is: there are forum posts on server.permissions, for instance, but it is all over the place.
Perhaps a top level pinned post with links to the several post where all the commands, settings, etc are would be a good start
-
Yes, @boisseau, as @botchikii says you will need one rule for tcp/udp for each port... or get another router that allows it.
-
You probably need to leave the "Port interne" blank.
-
Another possibility, perhaps more realistic, is that you can go to the frame and "measure it", then go with the measurements of the shape to the saw bench and build the part. This also would mean that it can calculate how much wood it needs and use all that is required, thous not having the same limits as normal planks.
-
Hi,
One of the most annoying things of the advanced construction with planks is to fill non rectangular areas, such as triangles.
May I propose a mode where, to certain extend, you can "fill" an area with planks, in sort of the same manner as you fit glass on frames, where the plank fills a -say- wood frame made of other planks, wood elements or stone blocks up to a certain area covering limit.
Two images to show what I mean:
Build a frame with for instance wood logs
and then enable the fill tool with a wood plank and it fills it (if the area is not bigger than the biggest allowed plank):
Is this doable? What do you think?
Maybe also possible to 5, 6, ... sides, not just triangles?
Cheers,
Marcos

Unfortunately I have no ETA for that yet. And I can't say much about how it will behave exactly... it's our intention to have a realistic behaviour, but we also have to make sure to not kill the performance (especially on multiplayer servers). I'm afraid rain will not affect water at all, flooding the whole terrain will be definitely problematic in terms of performance
Yes, I get the performance thing, however different types of terrain may absorb water quicker than others for instance. Sand almost instantly, rock not so much. Also maybe it could be a feature that can be turned on and off for a world, noting the huge performance hit?
Not expecting this kind of advanced features in alpha or beta, I am talking a few years from now. Version 2 anyone?
-
I have two questions:
- The most requested feature by my daughters: character gender and clothing! Any ETA?
- My most looked after feature: water / fluids that actually flowI'm sure it can be done much better than Minecraft. How are you planning to implement it? how would it behave? would rain affect -say- ponds levels? I would love to build dams that can actually fill with rain and get lower levels on dry times
Asking too much?
Thanks @red51, my three daughters an me love this game and play together a lot.

By the way, I copied the world to the Rising World steam client folder, and opening it as single player it converts and loads fine, I can even Open to LAN fine, so it is something with the server software only that is giving the error...
0.8.1 is still fine if I start it instead of the new one (but can connect from the 0.8.2 client).
Cheers,
Marcos -
Ok, looks like the error happens even when starting from scratch a new world:

Hi @red51,
After updating (ie copying the new 0.8.2 files over the old ones), the server will try to convert the world to the new version and fail.
Happy to share my files.

INFO: DatabaseTaskManager stopped! -
It is a Steam issue, other games are apparently affected too.
Maybe it is a good time to get an update, @red51?
-
Hi There,
In Linux, do you recommend the OpenJDK or the Oracle Java?
Asking both for the server and the client.
Cheers,
Marcos

To add to Minotorious, to pick those up (except the furnace) just press the F key for a few seconds over it.
