Hi red51
First of all, awesome!! I love the new graphics, and the ambience

I'd like to report some issues I found in Linux (I am well aware this is a preview, but thought it was important to report)
Setup: Linux Debian 64 bit, Steam version, Ryzen 1700x, Nvidia GTX 1700 with proprietary drivers 450.80
- There is a lot of mouse lag, no matter the graphics settings I use. The graphics run well in very high, but lag from start moving the mouse to see it on screen is terrible, even if I use the lowest graphics settings (no change in the lag).
- It may be related to the above, but when walking sometimes after a few (10+) seconds of very nice and smooth movement, it jumps forward
- there are some graphic glitches in the menu (settings) as well as in the radial one. bits of them briefly disappear and appear again.
Let me know if you need more info on my system, logs, or whatever

Thanks Red51!

Does anyone else keep checking the forums and Trello for news a few times a day, or is it just me?

-
Oh yes, that's definitely our intention
Once the world generation is ready, we can share more screenshots. Right now we're still working on stuff that can be considered as basic or "core features" (input handling, chunk loading, world storing/loading, networking etc) and obviously there isn't really much to show
When the world generation is ready, we will start working on things which provide more "visual feedback" in general, e.g. vegetation and objects, animations, particles etc - this gives us more opportunities to share screenshots and videos
Thanks @red51

-
Hi @red51
Could you tease us with a screenshot of the progress? Maybe once or twice a month?
Thanks! -
-
Red51 said there is something going on and he will post some info about it in the next 1- 2 weeks
Sorry, I missed that...

-
Any updates on the next update @red51? It's been a while!
I vote for the building changes so all things (planks/blocks) behave similar to planks (rotate, size)
Thanks!

And also please please the ability to work with what are now blocks in the same way as planks.
-
@red51 related to this, any chances that we will be able to reshape blocks like we can with planks anytime soon?
For the "builders" there, we have been looking forward this for quite some time.
And flowing water!

Thanks!
-
Amazing update! Thanks.
One thing I noticed with the indoors detection, is that quite often does not work for buildings with planks as part of the roof... which is most of my buildings as they are usually wooden.
Thanks!

Thanks @red51!
In Debian (testing, where Java 9 was auto installed by an update, but Java 8 was left there) you need to run as root/sudo:
and choose version 8
That makes Java 8 the default and then RW server works fine again.
Anyway, you still may need to look at RW server in linux from Steam trying to run the exe instead of the linux start script.
Cheers!

Hi,
So I just downloaded under "Tools" in Steam, the Rising world dedicated server.
First, there must be something misconfigured as in Linux it tries to run the .exe server, you may need to look at that @red51
Anyway, if I manually launch the linux_startscript as I used to do when the server was downloaded from this site before, I get the following:
Display MoreCodeWARNING: Use --illegal-access=warn to enable warnings of further illegal reflective access operationsWORLDINFOS seed: 3487590832450374257239467657656478599 type: Normal caves: true vegetations: true oreamount: 3 disablednpc: [[false]] disableddungeons: [[false]] disabledwatersources: [[false]]WARNING: Use --illegal-access=warn to enable warnings of further illegal reflective access operationsI just did a basic personalisacion of the server.properties file (server name and such).
Any ideas?

Hi @red51
We really need the "seeing through stone/soil" and "see lights through stone/soil" fixed. It really feels like cheating to find dungeons that way...
What are the plans for the next changes to the construction system? Any news on triangular or custom shaped planks? mirrors?
Thank you!

-
Just to report that in the world conversion I lost all the bones, skulls, chests, etc, and also all the pelts that were on "display" on tanning racks.

I know... alpha software. Still reporting.

I've had this issue with incorrect clipping when underground since I first bought the game about 12 months ago. Is there anything that can be done as it spoils the 'suspension of disbelief'/immersion and the excitement of discovering a dungeon! I've searched the forum but can't see any other mention of this specifically so perhaps its my gfx card (Radeon R7 200 series)?? Might have been better if I'd provided daytime screenshots but hopefully you can see what's going on...
Nah, that happens to everybody... right?
Yes, very annoying. That and that you can see light through rocks (as in the other side of the rock from the light source). hopefully that will be fixed at some point in the near future.
-
That should be fixed after the latest hotfix. Or do you still run into this issue?
I had that issue too, but it seems to be fixed for me.
-
That's really strange... there was an issue with rendering water previously, but that was supposed to be fixed oO
I had that issue, but it is fixed for me.
