For the Jungle biome which comes to mind is choco trees for chocolate. Or banana trees. The other animal can be tiger, since grasslands has tigers already. Temperature is warming than normal.

Arctic biome. Summer time version little snow with growing plants. Winter should have no growing plants, only meat just like the snow biome. The coast line should large chunks of ice. Mine ice for ice block or ice glass like with sand for glass. Ice block can be white or blue or even transparent.

The problem about mining a cave with snow, the temperature is colder than the surface. Torches gives light but no heat currently. Furnace needs fuel. Campfires and heaters are the only heat source. With fishing you need bait. If no worms, cut up raw meat to use for bait. The cold will kill you too.

My starting point in the game for survival was dead middle of the snow biome. A single campfire was not enough to survive on. I do have a underground house in snow biome if you want to see the temperature difference. Steam version single survival mode.

I been playing and testing different biomes to grow plants in. For places that do not have dirt, I bring normal dirt in. Looks like any soil can go crops on. Snow I have not tried. Single player Survival mode. Also weather conditions to give more a real life affect.

Snow biome: underground with heaters and dirt: all vegetables and food trees are yellow with brown spots. Still need to harvest them ready to harvest.

Underground plants might work if enough heat in the room, slower growing times and producing times for food.

Surface plants...have not tried but would be impossible to grow. Chance to freeze and die. Just like the player getting too cold, takes damage until death.

Mud soil can be the best for growing once removed from snow biome and place in normal biome like forest. Faster growth and more yields in harvesting.

Blizzards can cause white out conditions, extra cold damage from wind, easy to get lost without compass.

Forest biome: Can go any plant or tree includes cactus. Normal growing with the weather.

Thunderstorms with lightning can hit trees, leaving a dead tree that only have wood and no saplings. Any other damage to plant/player/animal/npc can be minor or even death.

Fog can be dense and hard to see even with light. You can hear animals/npc but seeing away is hard.

Mountains biome: Similar to forest or snow depends on location and temps. Normal weather to cold weather on high peaks

Very tips of the mountains should have a little snow for being very tall in elevation.

Thunderstorms, Blizzards, or Wind storms have a chance of push a player off.

Plants: no cactus also depends on forest or snow mountains.

Underground need dirt, since no rain plants should be slow growing and producing food. (my way station farm is -150 in height)

Grasslands biome: Similar to forest and desert biome. Weather bit warmer

Have not seen any weather conditions

Seen a lot of chili peppers and sometimes lemons trees. Dry dirt can be slower growing and plant can be 'stressed' yields be lower in harvesting.

Desert biome: Similar to snow but very hot weather.

Sand storms with heat, easy to get lost in without compass, wind can push player around

Plants similar to snow biome. Chance to be burned and die. Just like taking too much heat and water levels drain fast. Grown around oasis or water hole can be normal like the grassland. Trees should be grassland trees with palm and cactus. Sand should not be able to plant any crops on. Put crops on sand and also planted forest trees on sand without problems. Everything growing normally.

Not sure in survival mode have an item for the house, to lower the temp in desert biome home.

Found plants in desert biome just cannot use sickle to harvest anything.

Beach/Ocean have not found it...should be similar to everything above just depends on location with temps.

Salt water barrier in growing plants as nothing can grow unless can handle high salt levels plus anything can handle it, cannot grow anywhere else. No Crops grown in this area. Salt water cause hunger faster.

Underworld: still mining to it. Anyone know hellstone depth? Should be hot temps. Metal detector for lava within in -100 or less height. I.E. Current height is -550, use metal detector for lava, no reading. Say -895 then read weak or strong signal. As you get deeper to lava, conditions get hotter and red glow.

I am doing survival mode single player. I am trying to figure out how deep I am. I look at F3 but it does not say current depth. The last group of has something about depth...The lowest I hit is -0.11, when I hit the surface then it reads 0.0, no matter how high I go it stays at 0.0. I am in premade tunnels, game generation. I found 1 large gold vein, like over 100 ore when mined. Nothing since and started a new deep tunnel down. I had to make a way station for food and water. Once I start mining food/water is around 50%. Water was 100% at the entrance. My way station has crops and a chest with block bench so I can follow the red brick marks to the surface. I made small switch backs so when I go down, I do not die jumping down. I also kill spiders, only 2 going to my way station now. Also trying to figure depth for deep underground garden. Has 2 apple trees, 3 plants of corn, tomato, and strawberry. Also looks like a chair but for 1 bucket of water on it for drinking, save using my canteen.

One thing I notice can help out with everything is the grass or plants not as tall. I took a break from playing and played some Skyrim. I notice that they use short grass and with it easier to see items or kills. I lost a few animal and bandit kills from the tall grass in Rising World. That should even help with the graphics, less to load. I was thinking 1/4 to 1/2 the current size to be smaller. Or have kills lay on top of grass until looted or hide body. Just like saplings laying on top of grass. Snow biome and grassland grass can stay the same, just around forest and mountains. Also for future biomes to help cut the graphic demand on tall grass.

I finally got done exploring, building, and growing crops in a snow biome underground. Try to do it dead center of the snow area. I dug a cave like hole but first cleaned the area of bears. Single player, survival mode.

The layers I went through were snow (cannot be harvested), mud (look at everything crafting, useless), the stone. I was surprise to find the deeper I went in the ground, the colder it got vs the surface. Same effect at snow at night for temperature. Was wearing warmth cloth set but hat that gave 50 insulation, still got cold.

Once I had enough mats for building workbench and block bench, outside until I had large underground area. I built the ceiling under the mud layer. So I will not poke holes above to the surface. 5 blocks inside with floor and ceiling was total of 7 blocks. Instead of mining too wide of a place, I went down and made a large underground floor. I had a rock path so I can make blocks or dump stuff in a chest. With the main area done with walls, ceiling, floors, and ramp. The ramp connected up to a door that was ground level. Angle tunnel with ramps. Ramps where the floor and ceiling. Threw some windows with glass for light. To finish off the lower floor was very deep, no walls on the side, just bare rock. 3 pillars for the ladder (3 ladder parts to get out). Standard with crafting stations and water thrown in the corner. For the drinking water without using a canteen. Lightning torches/lights.

Underground farming/garden. I ran back to my main house and grab lots of dirt and other mats/items. I put the dirt down on the top the stone. This was the tricky part If you use the rake or hoe too much, you hit the stone and have to start over. Little hilly but mostly flat. I planted crops that keep growing and harvesting them. I did corn, strawberries, and tomatoes. Then hunted down a cherry tree and apple tree. The area was big enough to plant fruit trees, meaning height wise. When I planted everything I notice everything is a brownish yellow color. Still waiting on the fruit trees but the vegetables are that color even when ripe. Seem like a lot slower to grow. Torches for lighting.

I made a above ground tower which had issues dragging blocks to build many. 90% of the time was one block build unless filling in walls. Ceiling was glass windows with window frames. Base of the tower, put 2 statues and Christmas tree.

Temperature. With no heaters or campfires, underground was colder than surface expect at night, the same. The main room had a campfire and radiator heater which gave enough heat to wear starter clothes without get cold. Once you walked outside, you froze. For the garden area, about the same size as above floor but deeper. Found cold areas which needs more heaters.

Takes away do build/make but snow biome underground house ready to live in and watch the snow come down. Also give you that Christmas feel during the winter time.

I made a underground house with a tower above ground. Every time I log in the game (single player survival) the tag is gone and the building on the map is gone too. It has lights/campfires and so on. Other areas on the map for mark locations stay there.

For the size, I was bit sad. I find very large forest, good size mountains. The grasslands seem almost same size of the snow areas which is small. At least the North and South directions. I was around the starting area for the game, was in the snow area. I usually travel one full day for exploring. The snow area walked straight north into another forest biome. I thought it would be bigger.

Yesterday and today I notice my inventory has 2 slots that mouse cursor changes to normal mouse. The area is the second row, right side under slot 4 and 5. Single player survival game. I can leave to menu then re enter the game and the back to normal.

Forgive me if there is another post about water. I just got the game and in survival. I was trying to make a well so I do not have to run to a lake or pond to drink. No matter how much water I poured into a well type area, the water moved up. Same goes for down, you can drown if too deep. Placing water is 1 per tile. Water have some strange things in the game. You can place water from a bucket in a hole, on a side of block, or open ground which look like jello. Just cannot stack the water. Also if sinks could give water to drink or use.

Have not found lava or sand to see if the stays on top or disappear.
