really just completely baffling how many people are saying 'if you don't want people to steal from you, just don't have things they can steal' instead of the obviously morally correct option of 'yeah stealing is wrong and people shouldn't do that'. maybe it wouldn't be such a common problem if you people actually advocated against it and punished people/called people out for doing it instead of just being like 'eh, it happens. if you have feelings that can get hurt, you shouldn't participate in communities at all'. think about what kind of world you are fostering!

fun story to go along with all this. i just discovered a blueprint artist on here that hasn't posted in a while, via the credit Mag gave them when she posted a screenshot that included something of theirs. impressed by the screenshot, and having a name to accredit the impressive work to, i then searched that user on these forums and found they made a TON of INCREDIBLE pieces that i can now enjoy and comment on.
interestingly, i had actually already seen some of their work before; an eagle cut-out. it was on the side of a ship i downloaded from someone else. that someone did NOT credit dagoline in their post, so i thought they made the eagle themself. my husband and i complimented the wrong person, and the right person would never know how impressed we were if i hadn't found them through mag.
i would not only have never seen all the other awesome work dagoline had done if not for mag crediting them, but they would never get the positive feedback from me if i thought someone else had made what they did. personally, that kind of feedback is crucial for my continued building and sharing. what's the point of art if not to have people see and enjoy it? how could i know my work means anything if nobody ever sees it and tells me they appreciate it?
credit. matters.

i knew i recognized that eagle! âdler ...? / eagle ...? something

nope. well, not in the form of updates, anyway. developing one game is time consuming enough, red can't do both. java will remain as it was when the switch to unity began, forever, while unity will come to match and then surpass it in every way.
red will probably still offer support in the form of talk assistance when people have difficulty with java, tho.

those look so good! ...and i think i may have seen that eagle on a ship i downloaded...

just learned about your work through mag- these are amazing!

yeah. if all my hard work isn't even worth the barest respect, why should i share it at all? i spend hours making something i think is skillful and beautiful, that people will enjoy, but if merely having my name mentioned when it's reposted is too much to expect in exchange, then clearly i'm unappreciated and wasting my time.

that's an absolutely ridiculous comparison. there is a huge difference between basic materials/building blocks like individual lego bricks, paints, or food ingredients, and actual artwork such as a structure built from legos, an actual painting, or a food recipe. (not to mention, most people DO credit basic building blocks like legos, or the programs they use)
by your logic, a casual art store's selection of paints are more valuable than the entire lourve. do none of the artists of the pieces in that gallery deserve recognition for their years of study and hard work? should i be allowed to take the mona lisa, slap some sunglasses on her, and say it's my own art?

i haven't seen it happen, but i agree with you, deirde. it would be wrong to take someone's work, slightly change it, and then repost it as your own, or to make a blueprint of someone else's work in a multiplayer game and then claim it as your own to share it online.
i think avanar and forscherdrang are missing the point about reposting. the point of sharing blueprints on here is indeed to be able to incorporate them into your own work, but that doesn't include sharing it again as your own blueprint, or taking credit by posting pictures of others' work without mentioning them at all. when i download blueprints from here, i use them to decorate my own, private world. that is how they bring me joy and i don't need to steal credit by posting pictures of them. if i incorporate them into my own work that i would like to share, i would give the artists their due credit in the description or comments of the post, because that is the minimum amount of respect they deserve for sharing their hard work with me in the first place.
the disregard for artists' efforts and treating anything posted online as public property disgusts me, and as a professional artist, who tries to pay bills with my work, it makes me want to stop sharing anything i make online altogether (tho of course i'm not selling stuff i make in rising world, the feeling of betrayal and disgust is nevertheless the same. i may not be asking for payment, but i still expect basic respect). allowing people to view your work is not the same thing as giving them permission to take it and showcase it in their own gallery without credit as if they owned it, and just because someone shared a blueprint for others to use does not mean it's okay to erase their name off of it and write your own on top.
every creator may feel differently about it, but at the end of the day, the one fact that should never be ignored is that the creator's feelings are the ones that matter when it comes what people can do with their creations. if an artist says people can do whatever they want with their work, then that's true for their work, but ONLY their work. if another artist says they don't want people reposting their work, then nobody should repost that particular artist's work. and since it isn't always clear what an artist's stance is, it's common sense/decency to assume the strictest policy. people these days don't treat artists with any respect because it's too easy to rip their work from the internet and do whatever you want without getting caught. but morality isn't just about avoiding legal repercussions. it's about being kind and considerate to others.
permission to view =/= permission to use =/= permission to claim as your own by not providing credit when you share it
art is a product and artists have rights.

these other two blueprints may be useful for decorating a snowglobe too;
-
a cozy little house for snowy areas (or for adding to my snowglobe kit ;D). you have to crouch to enter, but can easily stand inside, and it even has room for a small base!
my being bad at math and circles being based on an irrational number made this a bit of a challenge, but i'm pleased with the final result! also thanks to my husband TayohShadowind for helping me with the final bits when i started to burn out.
personally i prefer the smoothed version, but it is harder to modify as it is made up of a lot more individual blocks, so i have also attached the original blueprint that is just the core of the build.
you could also repaint the blocks for it to be a mudbrick house, and maybe add windows, if you want, tho that is tricky on the smooth version. skylight would be easy tho!

i'd been thinking of making a neon alphabet myself, but i keep putting it off for more fun stuff. thanks a lot for doing it, that's very useful!!! i really appreciate having my contributions labeled like that

Your talents continue to amaze me! It is hard for me to believe that you made these using the blocks available in the game instead of using a 3D program, but the proof is there! The bows in the front are my favorite, as they are so shiny and such a lovely design. It is so hard to tell that the jingle bells don't have holes in them, and I love the details of them and the other bells (even the ringer on the inside). I also can't believe you were able to make the strings on the bells too! Keep up the amazing work!!!!
thanks for such a detailed comment, hun! i'm slowly getting more familiar with all the different ways to use all the different blocks. i'm pretty comfy with round shapes now, and thanks to the fancy bows i'm now getting better at the triangles. hopefully i can get faster and make more complex but repetitive things soon.

they are very beautiful again... you are very talented... hats off (as they say in Germany when you want to show respect) and thumbs up
----------------DE-----------------------
vielen dank! we also say 'hats off to you' in america

THE BOWS! these are in the main pic they just exceeded the attachment limit. the fancy and bouncy bows are my favorites :3 tho i wish i could think of a better name for the bouncy bow... i needed something other than 'bow' but that's all it is to me. way too many things in english called that.
-
sleigh bells/jingle bells and regular bells in different configurations, as well as several different bows for decorating presents/gifts and more!
i wish the sleigh bells were hollow, but alas those kinds of holes on curves are beyond me. i think the workaround i came up with is fine tho! BELLS FIRST THEN BOWS IN A REPLY
-
silly? .... noooo .... i love them
i'm glad you like them! i meant 'silly' in a good way, they're meant to be simple and cute. the others i'm planning to make will be more realistic and elegant.
