It's definitely good to have more options for baits. Although corn is very easy to obtain (much easier than earthworms or guts), so probably it would be better to have a recipe which requires more ingredients to craft a corn-based bait

Or another option (especially once food spoilage comes into play) could be stale bread for freshwater fishing. That would require a lot more steps and give a reason to use stale bread.
Tried the fishing just to get an idea of what it's like for building a fishing hut for a village build.
My suggestions:
1) An option for the cursor to auto-hide when the fishing rod is equipped / line is cast.
2) The ability to use corn as bait (works well irl and doesn't require killing anything for those that eventually want to catch and release fish when we can eventually tame / stock ponds, etc.)

There have actually been a few discussions about this... I think we can finally get it into the game with the next regular update... CursedXistence is eagerly waiting for it too
I'm just a little unsure about the standard size of the torus. It would typically be one block across, but not very tall, so it would be more like 0.1 to 0.2 blocks high or thick. Does that roughly match your idea?

Jokes aside, there's only a few block shapes overall that are still missing after the last group you added and torus and torus segments have seriously been one of the most requested ones. Being able to make more realistic looking ropes / bindings will definitely be a big game changer for us builders.
Would be nice if the sickle would have 2 modes. Left mouse would cut grass and it won't grow back, right mouse button would cut grass but it will grow back over time. Or any other solution to only temporarely remove grass. Plus an option for admins to set grass growback time.
It's been tossed around a few times in discussions. Personally I like the idea of the grass growing over time. I think it could be cool to come back to areas after a long time and seeing nature retake an area. Even having it where you cut the grass and it gives enough to manually replant it plus a little extra (like what happens with tree saplings) would be nice.
Maybe just something as simple as left and right mouse button raise and lower the terrain like normal and middle mouse button simply rakes dirt without changing the terrain level.
I know that. But it never raises it so that it touches the object, the terrain always stays lower so that there's a gap and the object is floating.
It's floating in your screenshot because the terrain under the back half of the smelter isn't level
when using the rake use the right mouse button to raise the terrain level.
The sickle will cut grass which you can then use in your hot bar to replant it in areas. It won't automatically grow back in places where you cut it so make sure the place you're actually going to cut is an area you don't want it it.
Of course, they are dry storm in the real world, even in summer in my own region in southern Europe. But its not what its pointed here. I have clearly mentioned a clear sky. Dry storm occurs only with a cover one (without rain). Here, it's just an unrealistic occurence of lightning and thunder in a perfect sunny blue sky

I have noticed lightning in a clear sky in an arid biome. I'm assuming this is stormy weather in temperate biomes. That can be fixed in a hotfix or than need more work to implement local weather ?

granted I make a vegetarian version of this now instead of using real chicken, but I used to make a pizza with blue cheese for the sauce, grilled bbq chicken, green and red bell peppers, onions, and either jalapeno or banana peppers. Wasn't even on the menu at the pizzeria I worked at but someone saw me make it once for myself for my lunch and had so many people asking for it they added it to the menu.
BBQ sauce on pizza is definitely underrated.

Since we have finally saltwater, it definitely makes sense to take a closer look at that now... although probably we'll either add food spoilage or more food items first (so there will be a reason for the player to farm salt)^^

Actually all chunks which were ever modified before are now usually freshwater (depending on when the world was created)... due to flowing water, it could be a relatively large area.
I was NOT looking forward to having to manually redo my stream and waterfall so glad it I got lucky and it defaulted to fresh water. lol

Don't kill me for asking this is more out of curiosity than anything, but now that the game has saltwater, is it eventually possible to add Sea Salt farming?
If you're not familiar with it, it's a shallow area that's flooded with a couple of inches of saltwater and then as the water evaporates the salt is raked, bagged, and dried. You could add a small flood gate with a lever to fill the pond area aka turn on / off a water source block.
That could have a lot of uses for cooking, food preservation, etc. in the future.
Triggered the heavy thunderstorm, lasted not even two minutes before it had me almost falling asleep it sounds so nice.
Grilled corn made me hungry for it irl.

Suggestion would be add an option for fresh / saltwater in the terrain editing tools so we can manually fix the water. Just as an example, luckily all of my ponds, lakes, river, wells, etc. all switched automatically to freshwater no problem, but all of the water around my island (and assuming it would be the case for any explored / modified islands) is freshwater and not saltwater.

The answer to your question is literally written in the update notes:
"Last but not least added 22 new clothes with this update! This includes various shirts, pants and shoes, but also two types of armor. We're still working on more clothes as well as various customization options (e.g. the ability to change the color or to attach custom icons to clothes), so stay tuned for the next updates!"
There have also been numerous discussions on adding more crafting for things like, food, medicine, brewing, etc. not to mention expanding and adding more biomes to the world generation. And that's not even taking into consideration the expansion it would give for building and decoration.
The addition of more plants, etc. is actually one of the easiest and more resource effective ways to add a lot of content to the game considering you can buy asset packs of literally dozens, even hundreds of plant models.
