Hi, I'm new to this and have downloaded your blueprint, but do I need to dig out the ground for the underground section or just flatten the top and sink it? Nice work BTW. Thanks for your help.
I'm honestly not sure. As a matter of habit I always manually dig out the terrain myself just to really make sure all of the terrain is exactly how I want to it.
Sad to hear and it never felt like a cry for sympathy, just your brave message to the community. I plan to use your blueprints, and I will do so with pride, a Pride that belongs to you, their creator. You will live on in Rising World through your creations.

Yeah I haven't started on the koto yet. There were some storyline games I was trying to finish up first before it was too late. Now that I'm done with those I'm going to start doing some building in RW.
Yes, for me it totally depends on the mood. Sometimes I love building to the in-game music, sometimes I turn the music off to just hear the ambient sounds, and sometimes I need more aggressive music.

Nope, not me. I've used the screenname CursedXistence for everything for years now and the same avatar photo I use on here. I definitely would be one to comment about the Cherry Blossom trees though. Many of the jobs I did when I was still able to work was doing landscaping. Probably a big part of why I'm always bugging Red51 for more plants in the game. lol
At the end you brought me to the Idea. I'm glad you like it.
And I have to thank you for the nice track you shared. Damn, I had to listen more Japanese traditional music.
Nothing against the music in Rising World but I'll put on some tracks like that and just zone out building for hours.

Actually now that you mention it and I really think about it any type of instrument is something I've never tried building before. That could be a really fun challenge.
I think I'll start with something more simple like a Koto
If there's anything specific anyone wants me to build just let me know. I can't promise to do any super large builds as I'm not sure on the exact timeline of how things are going to progress, but as of right now I'm still well enough to work on things.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I originally wasn't going to say anything but I still get people asking me all the time about using my blueprints in their projects so figured I'd better say something now that I'm at this point.
There's still a couple of builds that I've been working on that are just waitng for some certain block shapes we don't have yet. If I last out long enoug hthat those block shapes are added then I'll upload those blueprints as well. If not then I'll upload them and detail exactly what's missing on them still so people can finish them out to use.
I want to preface this by saying I'm not posting this looking for any type of sympathy or anything like that, just wanted to make it clear what the usage rights for all the blueprints sre that I've created and uploaded.
I have stage 5 chronic kidney disease and my heart is only working at 20 percent. I just got out of hospital (again) on Oct. 3rd, 2025 and was given a prognosis of a few weeks. Obviously that means I won't be around to give permission for people to use my blueprints so just wanted to clarify that anyone is more than welcome to use and of the blueprints I've created and uploaded for any project. I've always just asked that you give credit where credit is due when you use one of them so still asking for that as a condition.
I'm also posting a version of this message on the steam Rising World forums just so it's also documented on there.
It's a dev test / easter egg area and no it can't currently be spawned in.
There are several little areas of special interest that people have found.
There's one dubbed the hole to hell which is literally just a giant hole all the way down to the hell level.
The update is almost coming I guess..

"Item placement" as you called it is still on the roadmap, it's listed as "Item Handling"
So somehow you get unity access even though the game has not done billboards? Why would you not use the existing Graphics dir that posters require - it is because the art becomes part of the plugin itself?
The plugins folder is one of the few folders that you never have to worry about it being modified, etc. by an update.

Those are the only parts of it you can change through the settings right now. Red51 still neeeds to do a rework of the UI for adding the rest of the controller support in the next couple of updates so chances are the HUD will have more customization then. I know it's something others have asked for in the past along with a colorbind mode and some other accessibility options.
Not that my opinion matters and I have nothing to do with this server but personally if I was running a server and someone new came in and asked "Does anybody want to see my builds in my world?" I'd probably ban the person as well. While it might not have been the intention new people joining a server for the purpose of poaching players to populate another server is a very real thing and a pet peeve of a lot of server owners, especially ones spending their own money to host the server for others to enjoy.
PS: Also to get back on topic, that build challenge sounds really cool and nice to see someone doing something like that.
A few half step Unity versions back Unity decided to change the way lighting renders to make it more performance efficient. The problem is Unity being Unity and them having all their best and brightest supposedly working on the full rebuild of Unity managed to fuckupshoi the new light rendering. Of course their grand solution is just letting the game developers deal with it in their own projects so all of the lighting in projects needed to be remapped, settings changed, etc. and even then most light as still too dark. And of course this is all in combination of who knows when / what Unity will screw up with it in the next half step upgrade so most devs haven't bothered with all the extra work just for it to possibly get undone again.
All depends on if the upcoming update has something I'm looking forward to or not, the last couple of ones not so much. If it does then yeah I watch for the update announcement like a hawk.
I think mirrors would be a cool thing to add. Maybe they can only reflect what’s within say maybe 10-15 blocks but mirrors would typically be indoors anyway so that could work
Unless there's a new method of doing it they are extremely performance intensive even if you only have a couple of them. That's why most games cheat them and just have a blurred reflective pbr surface.
Red51's probably just streamlining the roadmap. Persistent Item Placement could easily just go under the main item handling category so it didn't really need it's own category.
Open Barrels, water troughs, etc. aren't fillable yet.
The closed lid barrel just works the same way as a chest.
I'd love to be able to rotate the textures we have.. is there a way I'm missing? I like to make wainscoting and such and there's no good vertical grain wood textures but some of the horizontal ones would work great... if I can rotate the texture
I wish, can't even count the amount of times I've placed down a bunch of blocks just to find out the texture is in the wrong direction.
