A new update is now available, introducing fishing, climbing gear, clothes and more!
Latest hotfix: 0.8.5.3 (2025-05-09)

Maybe there should be two furnace achievements because of all the variety we have going on. I see you also added my "knee deep in lava", yet as hellstone instead.

    • 'Striking while it's hot' - Using an anvil to turn metallic stuff into other components shortly after having cooked it in the furance of your choosing (A 1-2 progression achievement).
    • "Iron Horse' - Using a low tier train for the first time.
    • 'Ride of the Valkyries' - Survival mode only flying a long enough distance with a hang glider.
    • 'Gone Fishing' - Simply go fishing.
    • 'Dungeon Crawler' - Register 5 unique dungeons in underground & overworld (far future addition).
    • 'Lard Lump Hump' - Tame & mount a camel (humps are fat for energy for when food is scarce in a desert).

Probably not witty up front, yet they do hold hidden meanings to history.

Posting to note I just had '1337' posting. I kept it for a day to see if anybody noticed; Nobody has :P .

But yeah, I'm curious to know who's botnet DDoS'ing the Rising World servers. It's been said, by Steam, that many games are being effected as well that it may be Rising World, or it may be a whole clump of games that someone seems bitter about. I retract the Subnautica fanboysim while pondering about if it's the negative reviewers trying to find new ways to be vocal and weird. More so the ones on Rising World's negative reviews if it's at all isolated to just Rising World.

    ------

    - Subnautica hype:

Subnautica is making me wish we had boats sooner, yet can't push Red51. Gotta keep my cool. I'm still highly eager for any mode of transportation, as well as the submarine kind in Subnautica (the Seamoth). I also made a Prawn suit that may seem unplausible for Rising World to have, yet should be neat if we ever do. Oh, going scuba diving + submarining would be interesting. When we get to the whole boat thing I do hope we can colour scheme them, name them, and such. Storage concerns has been address so I can stop bugging about that.

Subnautica is a damn great game. Buggy still, yet great. :D I love comparing some elements to Rising World and vise-versa that I gotta note that Rising World does better posters than Subnautica. Another +1 to Red51 for being able to upload/import images via inside the game itself.

    *dies laughing*

I agree with Lenko that they should put their talent and effort into more worthwhile things. They should spend the time creating stuff, not being salty.

What I'm suggesting is for a plausible VR function for Rising World, yet believe it should also be its very own object in the game as well.

I feel that whenever Red51 has a dull day he could just add in cameras to go all Instagram & filters with things that we, the players, can then have fun messing about with those things. Whatever images we take we could probably add filters to them, even applying them directly into posters without needing to exit the client. Older cameras could simply be grainy black & white to eventually be retro 80's coloured, and etc until we get to more modern cameras to be pure crispy quality. Having a camera in game should also re-enable the landscape mode, something you just don't get in VR.

If Red51 feels generious and ambitious I wouldn't mind seeing a 360 bubble of an image, yet that's not really necessary. Just being able to take images in VR with an Oculus Rift would be handy. Even as a stand-alone item for others to use as well, thus this request here.

This camera suggestion basically comes about from my frustration with the Oculus Rift that having an in-game item should hopefully mend any issues with such. I wouldn't have to bug someone to jump on to take pictures, and etc. I wouldn't need to press two buttons at the same time, nor would I have to fight with Subnautica's menu. Having it all in game with the camera would add to a great "quality of life" to those that have fun taking 'scenic' images. The Oculus Rift forces you to hold two buttons that they then end up being portrait flat that what I"m suggesting is more of a "quality of life" suggestion over anything else.

Not really focused on it, yet Minecraft also has a camera item in a very certain version: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Camera

A suggestion for gaming "quality of life", VR support, as well as a stand-alone suggestion as well.

Here I was wanting to play Rising World today yet it seems someone feels triggered enough to DDos Rising World.

We are currently experiencing a large DDoS attack on our servers. As a result, the game will run in offline mode. You can still play singleplayer or coop, but you cannot join multiplayer servers which have hive verification enabled.
We are working on this issue and try to keep the downtime at a minimum. We appreciate your patience!

That bubble on the forum. A shame. Curious where the source came from, and if it's anything to do with how toxic the Subnautica community is? I name dropped Rising World there seeing an insane amount of toxicity from the Steam forums that people pounce on one another. Or as simple as being a hosting site coincidentally having RW on it.

I'm just going to post this here because in any other thread it be even more out of place than this one.....

    - Subnautica Game Observation:

I must thank Red51 for going out of his way into making Rising World be both singleplayer and multiplayer. Red51 went out of his way to make sure we have direct IP, open lan, external server hostings, as well as the much recent P2P addition. Playing Rising World with friends is as easy as 1-2-3, thus why I'm treating Rising World as this "perfect game". It's just so easy to drop in and out that everything works the way you want it.

I'm saying this because the developers of Subnautica are refusing to add any form of multiaplayer (even simplistic co-op) that it's a thorn in the game's side. It's a big elephant in the room that forces you back into Rising World, or whatever your main game is. Rising World shall be my flagship game because of how Red51 treats his game versus how the developers do on Subnautica side.........

Subnautica also has this pet called 'Cuddlefish' that I'm curious how Rising World's pets shall work. Hopefully in a similar manner, yet in a way where you can take it with you on transportation without isssues. People hate how the Cuddlefish is left behind on the planet when you take off in a shuttle in Subnautica, something we won't do in Rising World. Hoping pets shall be implemented with common sense into Rising World to find items, and etc.

With that in mind I'm curious to see where Rising World shall naturally expand to when it comes to the ocean side of things not because of Subnautica's errors, but because of a mix of both. The mix of curiousity and for the natural elements of scenery & plant life. I'm curious if we'll be able to do similar things in Subnautica, yet in a Rising World touch. Build underwater bases, have a 'moon pool' element, submarines, and boats. Boats are a confirmed thing, yet I'm thinking of the 'Cyclops' where you can dock a mini submarine into it called the 'Seamoth'........

Nothing major, and not really mandatory. Just simple curiousity where I'm not asking or demanding for things. I'm just agitated while thanking Red51 for all the effort he's done for Rising World while being disappointed & depressed that as good as Subnautica is as a game (8/1) with great music, scenery, VR, and such that it still finds excuses as to not add co-op into the game :( Rising World is my "Perfect Game" because of how smooth and accessible it is of a game.

    1) Can't seem to plant flowers

    2) Iron torch wall mounts (dungeon type) doesn't seem to be craftable?

    3) Medium crate missing label in the crafting list (crafting bench).

The head lamp is something I've been wanting highly, and it allowed me to finish connecting my tunnel to the two spots I wanted. I now have walling off and stone to clear away, something that's 70% completed :D . THis game is shaping up nicely.

Needing someone to test the P2P yet shall wait to see whenever 'they' wake up, or have time to test. It's a nice addition that it gains my +1 and respect.

[New] Added two new helmets with integrated lamps (L)
    > FINALLY! This one makes me so happy because I can finally go tunneling, mining, and etc properly without spamming torches.

[Change] World generates faster now when there are lots of buildings
    [Change] Reduced direct memory consumption
    > Maybe it does, yet I've noticed lagginess. Smoother before; Laggier now. shall continue playing regardless, yet just noting this.

    [Change] Slightly reduced running speed
    [Change] Stamina lasts longer now
    > I'm happy with this; No complaints. Love how you can sprint farther now with the speed now going to be covered by mounts & transportation itself.

[Bugfix] Spinning wheel no longer consumes too much wool/cotton/fibers (Multiplayer)
    > This should be handy. It sometimes became a snorefest that I'm glad some smoothness has been added to it.

Great update. i actually love this update for adding many worthwhile additions. :D

Well, the game is still very youthful that it's only the tip of the iceberg. At the very least we'll go from Medieval Era to Modern era crafting & tech wise that it's something to look forward to. Same with finding various dungeon types with bandits, pirates, and raiders topside; Monsters in dungeons; Hellhounds in Hell.

As for the other purpose of the game? I guess that's something we'll have to see what Red51 is planning and plotting once he reaches that point in time. If plausible, we may have NPC settlements to visit and interact with in a "plausible" Dragon Quest Builder manner, or even Minecraft's Millenaire mod style. http://millenaire.org/index.php?l=en

This game is a big game that we'll have to wait and see.

    Happy New Year (2018)!:

Happy New Years from Arcticu Valley Server from the town of Mountain Bowl. Well, the outter portions of it anyways. Streamed on 2nd of January, then uploaded today because was waiting on monitor adapter to edit it beforehand. Even so, thank you Red51 for the fireworks, plus hope you enjoy the fireworks show I tried hosting in tribute to Minecraft fireworks shows I used to do.

    <3:thumbup:

Its Kind of hard to do that when there are modern things alredy in the game... Eg.. Mining Drill, Flouesent lights, modern clothes.. moderm weaponms. maybye there wil be a mod that restricts what you can make, then progress

It's easy actually. Red51 wanted us to progress from Medieval era into the modern area as we tech up via recipes and such. Once he has everything tweaked he'll separate the two so we can play straight from Medieval era into Modern, or even locking it into either Medieval or Modern era items.

Hehe, glad to hear you like it There is definitely a lot of room for improvements, and I guess they will become even more interesting when electricity is in the game (allowing you to remote-launch fireworks, adding timers etc)

You're reading my mind! I was thinking how Minecraft has those item dispensors that I would have hooked those up to fire fireworks off on timers. Once we get there that shall be sweet.

For the Medieval side of things we should have firework holders to fire them off upwards and tilted 60*, or something. We should be able to place them, set off a fuse to then set them all off. That would be sweet. :D

So, the samurai armour is indeed a dungeon loot. Guess I gotta get looting!

I'm now testing out the stamina that I feel that horses & trains should be the next step. I already have things planned out that I'd add trains into the mix. I really want to see Red51's "big boat", yet I guess we'll have to wait on that. Horses & trains, then everything else. Stamina is a great touch though.

    In short: I vote trains

(I may have misread that I'll say that horses, trains, and boats should be next; From that, trains & horses.)

THanks! No more musket ball crash.

I also died laughing shooting off a whole swarm of fireworks that it's awesome. I however feel there needs to be sizing variations and effects to them, similar to how Minecraft does them. The whistling is awesome, even how they shoot off, yet be awesome if they added trail effects, multi-bursts, and etc. As they are now they're a fun toy to play with that I'm going to dedicate a building to making them :P:thumbsup:

Now, where's the samurai armour hiding at...... The swords are looking awesome as well.
