A new update (0.9.2) is available now!
Latest Hotfix: 0.9.2.1 (2026-05-13)

OT but I find it amusing those on steam bagging minecraft using java who are totally unaware this game is java even though it says so straight out in the specs.

I don't like java myself (first a C programmer from '92 and then OO C++) but it has it's place. Cross platform is great as a Linux user since '97 and even though C is cross platform it needs a bit of fiddling around.

That's actually the reason why I went to look at the JMonkey engine because people enjoy treating Minecraft like a piece of crap by being anti-Minecraft. I went to see if Rising World is Java based, found that it is to then search to see if there's any naval related content. I dislike how people try to 'suck-up' by claiming Rising World is the very best while knocking Minecraft down to the ground in a traitorous manner. Rising World was inspired by Minecraft using it as a respectful stepping stone to reach higher

It's Mojang I hate, not Minecraft. There's a big difference there to make note of that I'm frustrated with Mojang with how "sloppy" they are. I can't code to save my life so I have to respect people wishing I had those skills. I tried learning yet my mind won't grasp it unless there's those rare blue moons. If I learn it I'll soon forget it as well.

Alright, I'll just use this thread to post about Minecraft seeing as it's not being used at all.

    -----------

    - Vanilla Minecraft:

I find it stupid Mojang/Jeb would tweak horses while ignoring implementing other features into the game. Of all the other features Mojang could have messed with they had to downgrade the horse model.....

    https://twitter.com/H0MINIX/status/928348044076167168

Then laugh about it....Keeping it as it is.

    https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/928545653239754753

They could have added storage containers to boats, gave use to ender dragon eggs, place pumpkin pie into the world like cake, and etc. It's just a wasted effort they could have spent on other features.

    ---------------

    - Mob Voting:

I stumbled across Mojang finally doing something worthwhile, yet silly they have to vote on it. They could have just added all 4 entities, ones I've kept pushing for on both fronts, yet they have to narrow it down to one specific entity.

    - Mob A - (Water):
    https://twitter.com/Minecraft/status/930076496294760448

A dangerous entity meant to pull you under when being careless island hopping to places. They would attack players, dragging them to drown in the depths with their tongue tentacles.

    - Mob B - (Flying Night Creature):
    https://twitter.com/Minecraft/status/930435305500442624

It is attracted to insomnia attacking players who haven't slept in a few days. They're to fill in the void of taking advantage of the sky, something I've nudged Red51 to do to Rising World similar to how Jeb acknowledges there's no flying entities in the sky in Minecraft. Take advantage of the sky so players can be encourages to admire the scenery above them.

    - Mob C - "The Hunger" (Eating/Ground):
    https://twitter.com/Minecraft/status/930797685497622528

Camouflages itself in the ground to eat mobs and items like a trap. It waits for food to come to it, eating it. It's aimed at enchantment while giving some unknown bonuses to the player in the right context.

    - Mob D - "Major Blaze"
    https://twitter.com/Minecraft/status/931160039649431554

This is a bigger & badder Blaze mob that had shields to block you. It's a brutal chaotic master mob to challenge the adventurous.

    ----------

I'm both liking and hating where Minecraft is going, yet curious as to how it'll all fit together. Everything that I've suggested to Red51 seems to be partially noted by Mojang/Jeb that they're now tackling it, yet not fully because of voting purposes. I'm a bit frustrated they have to vote on this while not adding them all in at once.......I guess they want us to feel empowered by a false taste of choice, or it's more of a coding thing.

I prefer Mob B the most for how it'll take advantage of the air.....[Who shall win this game?] ..... I'm glad I'm seeing side polls of people desiring Mob B, and I hope it stays that way.

Those are even worse examples going in a completely different direction now. I've seen something where you can treat entites as RTS units, something that I'd find amusing if and when we gain drones in the game. I'm curious if you could command NPCs like RTS units in a game while having a light RPG element to it in the modern era of things. It's things like that.

And again, mainly focusing on naval elements.

Let's play a little game related to Rising World of "who shall do it first?" where we see features either added into Rising World, or another game of interest. The only condition is that both games are needing said features where those features are genuinely needed, not already there..... I'll strike out the loser to then bolden (maybe add colour) winner in the list.

    • Horses - Rising World, 7 Days to Die, or Medieval Engineers - [Red51 seems to be getting these first; Medieval Engineers is in heavy need of mounts... Both games, actually yet RW is confirmed first. It's been desired to have boats in 7 Days to Die.]
    • Actual lakes and oceans - Rising World or Medieval Engineers - [Rising World shall add in actual 1 world ocean with many island continents and islands; ME really needs something on the scale of a lake, or similar. It needs water.]
    • Boats - Rising World, 7 Days to Die, or Medieval Engineers - [Rising World needs realistic boats for the water + a storage container for the cargo... ME needs water + boats. Achievement hunter were also crying out for boats that I'm adding it here with 7 Days to Die.]
    • Birds/Flying Entities - Rising World or Minecraft - [We're to gain birds & hang gliders; Minecraft is voting on [this] entity attacking players with sleep insomnia after few days. Both games need to take advantage of the sky.]
    • Water Creatures/Animals - Rising World or Minecraft - [Minecraft is voting on 4 creatures, one of which shall pull you deep under into the very depths.]
    • Scuba Gear - Rising World or Minecraft - [With the addition of Minecraft's aquatic biome Minecraft should seek out actual scuba gear for swimming in vanilla, something I'm curious if Rising World shall have. The thought parallels with RW for seeking out future shipwrecks + ruins.]

You guys are free to vote (post wise), but do keep to the topic. Do not spam needlessly or I'll ask certain posts to be removed. Only mention what's on the list.

Maybe so, yet theres still a chance of dropping through into the void when the terrain doesn't render fast enough. I forgot who it was, maybe it was Daboiye, yet he had to lower his settings for when it rained that it was painfully laggy that he wished it was always sunny. That was a rare thing when it was always cloudy and rainy, and still is.

I guess I'll just not, yet just saying this in a "better safe than sorry" manner.

Only saying that to be safe because I've witnessed people dropping into the void at times. Weird water problem and such that it's better to be safe with higher computer specifications. I've seen servers strain on Minecraft side as well where it would rubber-band you horribly.......

    Better safe than sorry.

If you want to play a few times a week then I'd pick 'Open Lan' to where you may have to use Hamachi. It's not recommended since I myself ended up becoming a target for Hamachi hacks to gain access to my computer. I had to uninstall it, trying to deactivate my account & etc. I'd recommend playing in the same home.

Then there's hosting it on your computer [Guide] to be able to host it on your computer with more control. You could even dedicate a specific computer in your household to such, but keep in mind computers have to be powerful enough to do this.

Then there's Rented servers to host it for you while being at the mercy of the server hosting. It's the easiest, yet also the most hassle when the site's GUI changes, and such. The layouts, and such.

If you're playing less then it's either Open Lan or a private server hosted on your machine. If it's long-term then try renting it, or dedicating it 24/7 on a specific household computer while having unlimited internet usage.

I have a few more while waiting for Rising World to update........

    -------------

    - Skid-Steer (Bobcat): What I know to be a Bobcat is actually a skid-steer, something Daboiye had to correct me on. I request this for when there's just too much dirt & stone to dig that you'd want this to collect it (safely). Bonus points for being able to dump new gained resources in a storage container + dump trucks, or whichever.
    - Grader: For smoothing vast amount of terrain at a leveled position. Removes bumps + moves loose materials to either side of the turned plow when angled.

    ---------

    (Modding Side):

Having witnessed EA Games being greedy bastards, yet awesome in certain game concepts, I really want to see various Star Wars elements in Rising World. Well, actually.... Even before EA was greedy with BF2, yet still want to see something in Rising World. Basically land based objects vehicles, droids, & furniture to be found in the game via modding. I do hope someone picks up modding I really want to see the likes of wearable Stormtrooper armour, see Imperial/Rebel banners, and craftable droids. It's more appropriate for Empyrion, yet Rising World can still be open to having Star Wars fun of having AT-ST walkers, AT-AT walkers, and other things. I truly miss my Star Wars Galaxies years that I'd love to pay SOME respect/tribute to it in Rising World towards it.

    - AT-ST: Because it's slow, yet cool to have in Rising World. It would be able to cross the various terrain in Rising World with most ease. Not all, but most.
    - StormTrooper Armour: Because I miss being able to display and wear various stormtrooper & Imperial outfits. I miss my normal & ace Imperial pilot outfit.
    - ID10 Seeker Droid: Because I miss having a droid in SWG; Found in Star Wars Battlefront 2. I would love to find it in Rising World + be able to have it attach onto your back during transport, be able to hover, as well as have it find various things you're seeking.

I really would love to be able to craft an ID10 droid in Rising World after seeing how cute it is in Star Wars Battlefront 2 cutscenes. How it latches onto your back, hacks & shock things, as well as has an X-Wing slot specifically for it. It's adorable, and I want it in Rising World! Oh, how I'm going to have to wait a very long time.................How I miss playing Star Wars Galaxies.

Thanks, but I singled out the naval warship video purposely. I did notice those at a glance, yet wanted to focus on something more WW2 naval. if you can find any more naval warfare for this engine then those would be welcomed so I can try nudging seeing that in Rising World on either the vanilla or plugin/modding side of things. I do want it to happen because there's a free-roaming WW2 naval war game that it be fun to just sail your vessels through a vast endless world; Bonus if the ship turrets can fire somewhat realistically, similar to what's in 'World of Warships' :D

You've posted something neat though.... Car racing that I may have to come to expect that habit of car behaviour in Rising World, unless Red51 manages to tweak it in a specific Rising World fashion via personal habit coding, or similar. When it comes to vehicles I do hope they're weighted, not "light weight" as in that second last video.

Seeing that destroyer in the first post is showing nice signs of what Rising World could possibly add.

Thought I'd spawn this thread to ramble on a bit more while checking out what Rising World may or may not be capable of at a glance........Just seeing what people have built out of that engine, if there's any naval games out there, as well as if I'm intelligent or stupid to tackle it solo. At what I'm finding I think I'll have to piggy back off Red51's talent + any wonderful plugins & side help, and such of other people as I try to see things into existence in some manner......

    - Homepage: http://jmonkeyengine.org/

I've been loosely wondering if anybody modeled a working AT-ST model for JMonkey, or if (more seriously) someone tackled a WW2 era naval game with that engine.

I can't tell if it's JMonkey engine or not, but I'd love to see something similar to this in general in Rising World. The detailing of the vessel, the turning of the turrets, the firing....... It be perfect with the quality that Red51 puts into the game. It isn't survival, I'm aware..... Just something for ..... Amusement, or something. Territorial survival, maybe..... Having finally played 'World of Warships', missing Silent Hunter 3 type navel freedom, I have to wonder if Rising World could have at least one Z-Class WW2 era destroyer into that game. Thanks to World of Warships I was also inspired into taking a light curious peak into this engine to see what's possible at a glance. It's also because of me wondering if Rising World is on Java or not because of the whole Minecraft mess. Please allow us to have AT-ST's & a German WW2 destroyer in Rising World :P

I really have to wonder deeply about the vanilla & modding side for this game..... I hope we can do a lot because there's massive voids everywhere for many things to fill that can be done easily in rising World.........

If only the update could play fair with Red51 it would make him happy. I hope there's an end in sight for that Player Foundation update so Red51 can hopefully regain any lost sanity caused by complications relating to this update. With how complicated it is I'm chosing not to poke him via Steam and such because of how complicated the update itself is.....

On a note that I want to tie in with Rising World and Minecraft is how I want to re-point out the bit with the horses of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" thing that Mojang keeps ruining. I was absolutely furious when I saw Mojang wasting time and resources on something that doesn't need to be fixed. There were so many other things they could have tackled.... They then happily shrug that they have to keep moving......

    https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/928545653239754753

I for one hope Red51 doesn't do this, unless absolutely necessary. I'm in the mindset of "well, I guess I'm not playing Minecraft anymore" holding even more respect for Red51. It's still genuine, just frustrated why Mojang had to do what they did.......

On another note...... I love what SCS Software is doing with their American Truck SImulator game by adding dynamic traffic mishaps along roadways, as well as allowing cars to park in parking spots. It's little things like this that I admire game developing and the struggles of programming Rising World. The same bits of added features that you see people moan that nothing major was updated in Rising World. I gotta pat the developer in the back because those small things still add onto the whole picture.

    http://steamcommunity.com/app/…ns/0/1483235412201355237/

There's a video in the above link of car parking in a parking lot, something they haven't done before. +1 to those small details that I'm sure we'll see on a similar note in Rising World. :D:love:

(If you're confused as to what I'm trying to say then view this in a perspective of me making note and admiring of game development itself.)

I'm with Yahgiggle & Minotorious on this because that does look like spam to me, and others. It was simply going on about hemp, not Rising World in any form. Keep posts simple and interesting like a skirt so we can dissect it easily for easy reading. How do you imagine various hemp objects to be used in Rising World? Make a list.......

Also, throwing a fit on Facebook doesn't help. It only makes things worse...... I've put myself in the same position that it only makes you appear like a villain, and it's not a good place to be.

We're going to have to wait and see if Summer 2018 shall be an actual target, or if it'll take longer to reach that complete gameplay target. There's still so much left that it makes one wonder when it'll actually be considered "complete".

    ----------------

This tweet seems appropriate and relatable to Red51. I'm not helping Red51's situation either by suggesting & pointing things out either.
    https://twitter.com/bartwerf/status/927619702918131713

Mojang doesn't know what to do that they're basically trying to reinvent the wheel that's already been invented, only making things worse in the progress....... Instead of tackling the dragon egg into dragon hatching, giving boats more variety, giving boats storage chests, allowing pumpkin pie to be placed like cake in the world, or even adding variety to minecarts, yet they they have to go back to screw up the horses...... The horses look horrible now in one of the Minecraft Snapshots that I hope they gain enough flack to keep horses the way they are........

    https://twitter.com/H0MINIX/status/928348044076167168

I respect Minecraft for being a fine open world game, for giving me those fine moments, one that inspired Rising World to use it as a stepping stone to reach grander heights. This.........is just stupid. Mojang is lost that they need Red51 on the team so they can tackle actual features.... Even being able to place pumpkin pie as cake in the world........

The things Mojang is doing is also another reason why I'm here in Rising World because it's an intelligent and mature game with a developer whom has common sense. If this 'Player Foundation' releases this November then both him and I shall be in heaven doing things in the proper side of things. I want to tackle (in some noobish fashion) with whatever API I can so I can see Rising World pushed further than Minecraft...... The power of Rising World is far grander. I simply can't wait to finally see that update announcement bubble so we can push Rising World further..... I want to see that update this November.... Hopefully it's ready by mid November.

There's no denying that RIsing World is going to give Minecraft a run for its money once it matures with all the planned features + all those API things we'll be able to do. NPC API, modding API, and etc. Holy hell, am I ever furious with Mojang again that I'm thankful where Red51 & team have placed Rising World. So mature, I love it.

Joni, you're ending up like someone else on this forum that I want to slap you.

    - NPC Interactions/NPC Follow Animations

Still strongly desiring having companion NPCs to both help you out + immerse people into a world that comes off as eerie and empty at times. The game can sometimes be seen as a horror game with how empty is is that whenever possible (yet no rush) to insert NPCs on various levels, when humanly able. The silence in it sometimes tends to be worse than when there's mobs spawning at random.... Human mind works in spooky ways....

    Not why I'm posting though...

    https://twitter.com/7u_NABY/status/927686912994717696
(Please click this to see why I'm posting what I'm posting.)

    https://twitter.com/7u_NABY
(For more fun animation related content for inspiration.)

I needed a transition to post an interactive suggestion that some NPCs should "follow" other entities (NPC humans + players, and even pet animals) in proper moments. Be more up close on friendly terms, or something. High fives, or something. Same with also having "interactive follow" animations for when they follow you that specific ones could play. Maybe even being able to interact among themselves and the players for that immersive sake. Maybe as a bonus there could be a hidden guage attached to humanoid NPCs where it could track & trigger a higher chance for them to be more comfortable, maybe a bit more intimate (not mature content) among themselves and/or the player. Having NPCs being more lively and interactive could make Rising World just that much more fun and appealing.

I simply view this as an immersive thing that I would love to see some experimentation done for when humanoid NPCs are an active part of our world. Again, I'm here for Rising World's high potential + high potential in modding that I'd love to see Rising World do things that would otherwise be considered "impossible" in a lazy pessimistic excuse. I just find the 'Kemono Friends' lean-hugging cute that I'd love to see humanoid NPCs being there, and interactive. Hopefully it's being understood where I'm going & coming from.

i think Red51 has enough on his plate, it must be so stressful developing a game when you have 100s of users wanting the next update now oO but i guess you never know what's going on behind the scenes :-D

Yeah, thus why I said it the way I said it that it's probably a "next year" thing at this rate that I can wait. Yeah, it's that time of the month where Red51 mentioned the November release so I'll just simply focus on that while simply noting in a generic manner the desire for some Christmas decorations. If it doesn't happen, that's fine. I'd rather get what's promised instead.

I wonder if Red51 could add more Christmas decorations to the mix on top of snow textured planks. Maybe asking too much right now that it may be better for \next year.

Feel free to ignore my post, just that I managed to dream that Red51 gave us the update that I was able to test out the musket. It was still a placeholder feature, yet something we were able to have, but without ammunition. I wanted to shoot a bear, yet couldn't.

Also, I'm also curious about seeing if we could tune the arrows to have glow flares on them, flaming arrows, poison tipped, among others. Even having stone, iron, and other sort of tipped caps to do varying sort of damages for varying sorts of situations. As for guns I'm curious if there'll be normal ammo & tracer ammo where you could customize the loudout on the magazine, or if it'll all be default that what you shoot is what you get on a simplified level of things.

I'm hoping to see the pop up soon for the mid week of November. I'm hoping it'll pop around mid November when I gave myself time to play around with the update. I can't wait to see how muskets play in this game and how we'll go about making ammo packs for them.

Nitrado is also frustrating me that I can't download the world on a whim, nor the backups. I used to be able to download the backups, just not now. When I managed to download the world parts I did some exploring finding my two important settlements can reach both another desert biome & a winter biome.... Winter biome is tiny though that I wish it was larger. Same could be said with deserts as well that I wish they both were larger. Forests for days, yet no winter or desert biomes to choose from. Must be my seed.

Also found some weird funky abandoned dungeons.......... There were more, and some normal ones as well.......

It's the colour thing itself, and I lost the Prefix beside my name as well. It removed it all refusing to read it at all.

    ---------

PLaying around with it again using this site as well [http://www.color-hex.com/color-wheel/] while adding and removing the # big before the colour hex code. It's refusing to work.

For me it's because I have to get used to a new keyboard that I have to be twice as cautious now. It slid down a grassy bumpy mountain that I lost it, yet I crafted three spares just in case. I have to wonder though if locking the inventory should tie in with having a utility belt in both Medieval era & modern era that even if you press 'Q' it would just stay there, unless you otherwise specify to drop it.

    ----------------

    - Blue Jays:

I remember when I first joined the Rising World community back in 2015 that the first thing I requested was to take advantage of the free space up in the air. To add birds, dragons, , propeller planes, airships, among other things. I basically wanted to request things that Minecraft failed to tackle by taking advantage of the vacant space above. With how 'rare' the Blue Jays are to Ontario (Canada) I feel they should be added to any forested biome for how special they are. Maybe mainly populating the Canadian Taiga wooded areas to scavenge things from. They're genuinely majestic animal that when you do see them that they're truly special that it be sweet to have them in the game.

Bonus: If we can grow peanuts to then feed them to Blue Jays that be awesome. Similar with Squirrels coming up to you so you can feed them, turn them into pets, and such.

    -------

    - Owls:

Just a general suggestion tying in with Blue Jays because they're equally as majestic. Be nice to see them sitting up on trees that allow them to be perched up there. Maybe trees may have to be reworked a tad bit, yet if they can sit up in trees, hide within them in holes, and such then that be awesome to see. Even choosing to sit on fences, wires, and such... Anything that they can calculate to be a thin plank in a horizontal fashion. Snow owls scouting and swooping around the snow biome, as well as chasing curious rodents.

    -------------

The fun part is that there's bird models already passing through the modeling queue, or have done so, that we'll see them soon.... Just that I really would love to see a Blue Jay in a game, hear its bird call, as well as hopefully being able to tame one that they would follow you, yet do their own thing. If they're not directed into a cage they should fly about as their own entity going through chunks by loading & unloading them (only as pets).
