A new update (0.9.2) is available now!
Latest Hotfix: 0.9.2.1 (2026-05-13)

I'm sure you guys heard the news that 'The Pokemon Company' pulled Pixelmon from the Minecraft world. They killed the game because there's been mention of a new Pokemon RPG coming out on the Switch that it may conflict with one another, or something like that. I'm sharing this because it also impacts how Rising World would thrive in the modding scene when it comes to detailed modding that it makes one wonder. I used to play Pixelmon, and I loved it. It constantly wanted to pull me into Minecraft, even with Rising World here, that I want to see Pokemon co-existing properly. Not negatively with stuff, as it's now becoming, yet with happy thoughts and etc.

This feels like GEMA Youtube crap because it feels like we're being 1) Censored - 2) Not allowed to have fun modding Pokemon in games, & 3) Forcing the Pokemon RPG far too harshly that Nintnedo never bothers to listen to their fans in the first place.

    ------------

    - Pixelmon Shut down:

    - Petition:

    -------------

Again, I bring this up because I wanted to eventually see a Pokemon mod done for Rising World mirroring what's being done in Minecraft. The whole training, flying, swimming, riding, and battling. The whole actual real-world Pokemon thing going on, yet in more detail with Rising World going to have a more complex take on modding. Those finer details, and etc. Even though I struggled to jump back onto Pixelmon after the fact, I still wanted to jump back into the game because of the void created by Nintendo & Pixelmon. The whole free-roaming, and etc. I loved flying, the looting, crafting Pokeballs, and just....in a free-roamy world. Growing berries to make Pokeballs. It's the best example of how to make a Pokemon game, yet Nintendo constantly refused to listen.

"Are we allowed to mod Pokemon?" - When you have to ask whether you can mod something in or not you know something stupid happened. Something negative, and etc.

Nintendo constantly hitting all the wrong notes. With that, I doubt we'll see a Pokemon mod for Rising World because of what happened with Pixelmon. Nintendo's greed getting the better of them that Pokemon shall have to die a painful death now thanks to Nintendo's poorly placed stepping.

Yeah, I'm checking daily also to see if Rising World let off any secret heads up announcements. Constantly checking the updated games tab I gain when games update, yet never see Rising World there. I'm hoping Rising World shall update before my 25 days of server hosting expires that I'll have to renew it. Would be nice to have a bit of an overlap, yet Red51 has to push the update in a 'it's ready when it's ready' mentality.

I have a bit of an anxiety issue, yet I have American Truck SIm, Euro Truck Sim 2, Colony Survival as my distractions. I'll soon have Fate/Extella as my distraction on July 25th so I may end up struggling with Rising World for a few days from then.

Sorry if I'm the 'loud one' here, just trying to type this 'neutrally' hmm.

Fishing & food spoilage shall be a thing so it shall be interesting to see temperature & food spoiling "probably" happening after this next update. Both in Medieval & Modern era. Red51 mentioning tackling stuff, and I swear I 'heard' (saw) him make mention of fishing being a thing in either the 2nd or third chunk of that. I hope it's fun, and not tedious. The fun part of Rising World is that we could set up hard shell fish farms, something Minecraft modding tried doing in some parts.

Mortar and pestle shall be fun. I hope that 'adobe' shall be added in with more detailing.

I hope we also gain lobster traps which trap lobsters & crabs at random. They would just have a chance at spawning them, just as long as they're registered in an 'ocean' biome.

    --------------

My tips for fishing (to Red51): If you have to stare at the fishing rod floating bobber then you're doing it wrong. It strains the eyes, and it becomes quite tedious & chorelike that I'd much rather set up an NPC to handle fishing for me. I want to go fishing, and Minecraft made their version all that much more fun by seeing the trail of bubbles heading your way. You're given a heads up. Allow us to focus on something else in regards to fishing, not strain out eyes on the bobber. Just chill, relax, and wait for the fish to pop into your inventory, or something.

Curious to see how you'll handle this. How 'casual' you'll make it.

I think I know what those primitive crafting stations are, yet now forgotten because of how much time has passed. I did note how sticks & stones shall play in primitive weaponry & tools, yet there's a whole untapped side to Rising World that we have yet to discover. Just try and imagine Rising World, yet themed in Medieval Era only, and then modern era only. Just imagine that feeling, vibe, and aura around that. Even with how many stages Medieval era has, and then modern itself. That in itself is impressive.

Just playing Medieval Engineers allowed me to see a "what if" of Rising World turning sticks & stones into tools, and such.

I would LOVE to have a small campfire type furnace laying about. More stuff that I've seen in both Medieval Engineers + Wurm: Unlimited would be absolutely awesome, and why I love Rising World. It be a nice unified game for all that. The make-shift furnaces, the campfire we currently have with those 'spits', and such.

Going off what Chil said imagine if we turned thaching into planks type objects, but more 'fluffy' to place on roofing, Thaching and adobe, or even hardened dirt bricks and such. That wiki link I shared above...... Rising World, you're awesome in how detail you could be, and how you may be. Everything on paper is impressive.

Also, I can't wait for when we gain our horses twice over (or many times over) through map refreshes when updates force us to do so.

Yeah, the way both Grand Theft Auto 3/4/5/Online, and even Euro Truck SIm 2 & American Truck Sim handle media is the way to do it with radio. Both offline and by pulling from the internet through playlists and such.

You guys should seriously check out 'Tower Unite' which allows you to stream via Youtube & Soundcloud through computer monitors, TV, & projectors.

For music, it be interesting to connect it via Soundcloud and youtube, but sound. Red51 has various ideas for that which I'd love to see that we came across this topic through GEMA. The ironic part where GEMA timed their decisions to lax (soften) Youtube censorship more that it even surprised Red51.

But yeah, those would be awesome items to have.

Also, the fridge item I mentioned here if you want to chime in - Food Spoilage

Forgot to add the roadmap link into the first post so I did that. Also, just to be clear.....I did not mean to come off as hostile or defensive. Not even as a fanboy to Colony Survival. Just, that........ Don't harm yourself because you see similarities in others games. Do as you wish, just don't purposely blind yourself is all I'm saying in as neutral tone as I can.

    -------------

I'll also post it here, yet it's also in the first post.

    Roadmap:
    http://www.colonysurvival.nl/2…e-want-to-add-during.html

    - Animals to be tended to by settlers. Sheering sheep, farming pigs & etc.
    - Automatically building & removing structures (walls).
    - Three new types of hostiles (Quick, strong, & stronger) (Heard mention of flying types, yet may just be a rumour)
    - Science (to research new ways of unlocking jobs, blocks, and gameplay)
    - Crate system to localize storage more realistically. More location based & 'transport' Settlers planned.
    - Multiplayer interaction improvements (more interaction with everybody)
    - Taxation & Happiness.

    -----------

Again, this is why I love Colony Survival, and why it's a game of its own when compared to Minecraft. To me, it just doesn't compete/compare because this is more interaction in a city builder manner. Think Stonehearth, but you're actually there with them. That's something missing from Minecraft that I always wanted to have more interaction with NPCs. Colony Survival is going down this path, and we'll see Rising World experimenting with the same in the future.

Seriously, do not judge prematurely as it may end up being awesome to you. Best to test it out and judge after the fact. Not wanting to appear as a fanboy, yet just wanted to post the roadmap today, and that's all I wanted to do. It's surprisingly fun watching others work as you observe them from your WIP tower.

I wonder if Adobe would find its way into the game in a more brick-like manner. Plaster, clay, and & etc of even getting some roasted to then become bricks. There's a 'loam' category, yet that category needs to also expand vastly in the blockbench to even include clay, and etc. It's popping up a lot in games now inspiring from Minecraft that it's now also found in 'Colony Survival' hmm.

The next update that we're all waiting for should allow for such. We may end up getting spears, clubs, stone knives,..... I can't say for sure on bricks, clay bricks, sugar canes, bamboo, and such. Even Shredded leaf is a mystery to me. If a player can hold it in his or her hand then it may end up with in the next update.

What I do know is that there was mention of stones & sticks to allow you to start off Medieval era as a primitive caveman with a stone axe, and such. You would start off your survival experience with a primitive stone axe to then gradually work your way up into metal workings, into late Medieval era, and whatever 'Modern Era' shall be.

Rising World shall be an interesting game, and why we're all here. It's why I'm here because of the potential, and what's on the road map.

but someone is getting sick like me, checking twice a day if there is the update?

Just a bit impatient because we know there's a lot of goodies to come, yet we just don't know when this update shall release to be Christmas. Even so, keep waiting while playing other games out there to see what they're all about. While you have the chance (such as myself) go explore various other games while you can before it's too late when Rising World shall truly grab your attention. The next updates are really going to pull you in that now is the best time to poke around with other games while you have the chance. All worth the wait.

    ---------

Well, I guess we'll need a sci-fi red shirt with Red51's name on it somewhere in the dungeons to look for & to be able to display openly as a collectable. Same with a half-joke on Steam mentioning a certain Red51 hat type also suggested to be found in dungeons.

Shall be interesting to even see birds floating about in the world, as well as an owl actually hooting in real time in our world. Not in this update, but some future one after these batches that I really would love to see an Owl type roaming around. Do hope to see an Owl so I can tame it either vanilla or plugin API style, and to also have it sit on my character's shoulder.

Yeah, patience is a virtue. I'm thankful we now have this hiatus (drought) because I can poke around with other games when I wasn't able to before with the few free time I do have.

If it's about the graphics then let that bias die. Just allow the game to pull you in and have fun because it feels vastly different. The main focus is you tending to the NPCs while you guide them on a proper colonial path. It may look like Minecraft, as people have also claimed Rising World to be, yet it handles completely different.

If you want to play Minecraft instead then that's your freedom as a gamer, and that's cool. Just....if there is a graphics bias just drop it. You're only harming yourself.

Damn! This game is fun. I love how the developer made a nod towards the Japanese fanbase for having the most views from there. One of the updates added 'Cherry trees' by putting it in the shop item, as well as being able to use the logs from them to build torii gates. You know what's hilarious? Cherry trees were once on a snapshot log for a 'garden' update which added all sorts of flowers & bushes, yet Mojang never followed through with adding Cherry Trees into Minecraft. That was many years ago. I love this kind gesture towards the Japanese by giving a Japanese themed tree to them.

I believe this update was also before hand where you were given berries to start your colony with, something I find neat and worthwhile. It's also been given a secondary use of staining planks into bright red planks. 10 Berry seeds were also placed into my world that I could continue building from it.

I also ended up finally establishing a flax farm that I'm now making adobe oil to make stained planks, or whatever they're called. Used them in my 'Fox Tower' that it makes for nice fine wood. I love this game. Even all before this I even started using my straw for making roads, even if it doesn't make sense. This is like Minecraft so I wanted ot make use of it so it could lead me to a taiga biome. I want to expand and colonize other lands, yet it's not encouraging me to do so. I want to place more banners to keep zombies away.

    --------

I wish Rising World would have colorful trees like that cherry tree. It has a cherry tree itself, but it needs to blossom into pink. I wish we had more colourful trees. But damn, this game is fun.

    Images:

    • Trying out the new cherry tree & berry bush.
    • Starting to work on a straw road + lining the main portion with cherry trees in bloom. They grow within a day.
    • My flax farm is finally in place after waiting on my gold coins to come in.
    • The adobe stained plank on left, and berry stained plank on the right. Berries sure stain hard.
    • Fort Kitsu with the new additions with vantage point from my new 'Fox Tower'.
    • Fox Tower sitting outside of the walls, yet with a safe hallway leading into both places. Has one crafter worker within. I sadly messed up the third floor to have 3 floor high ceiling, yet I'll allow it to be a feature in that tower. Cherry tree in view.

I just love this game. Can't wait for more to be added, yet additions that won't destroy my fort.

Alright, playing more American Truck Sim that I stumbled across another cactus type that would be interesting to see in Rising World. Happily cruising through Arizona. I'll obviously wait for the main survival side to release, yet having these cactus types would be interesting.

What even is Adobe. I just know it's a software, yet it's used in Colony Survival...... Let's Google.....

    Quote

Adobe (US: /əˈdoʊbi/ ( listen), UK: /əˈdoʊb/;[1] Spanish: [aˈðoβe]) is a building material made from earth and often organic material. Adobe means mudbrick in Spanish, but in some English speaking regions of Spanish heritage it refers to any kind of earth construction, as most adobe buildings are similar in appearance to cob and rammed earth buildings. Adobe is among the earliest building materials, and is used throughout the world.

Alright, if Red51 knows how to add that into the game then I'll try and build with it.

Any thoughts on food spoilage? I don't want to pressure Red51, just something I want to poke at in a light manner while also frustratingly half asleep as I'm probably known to be now. I curse you random 'private number' for waking me up.

Well, food indeed has to spoil in this game because we're over producing to the point of heavily stockpiling on it. We need other NPCs to eat from our supplies, as well as ways to offer up an interesting 'supply & demand' with food related stuff. Trading with NPCs, and such. Food spoiling would balance things out that you would only harvest as much as you would need, or capable of storing in your storages. The way it's done in Starbound is that your food would naturally expire, yet would 'stop' the timer on spoilage when you kept it in a fridge object. I actually approve of that Starbound fridge gaming mechanic because it's not as severely harsh and hardcore as 'Conan Exile' where your food would spoil near instantly. You would only store what you're capable of, and you would keep what you've earned and entitled to in game. You would be given 1-2 in game days before your food spoiled into a green rotten mess, something Rising World should avoid at all costs in hardcoreness. Food spoilage should be natural, as in Starbound. I guess even 'Rimworld', yet it's now been too long I can't even use it efficiently as a reference point. Haven't even played '7 Days to Die' long enough to know how long food spoilage was, yet it managed to hang in there long enough that it must be good. Food should be able to last you a nice long decent while without frustrating the player.

The cold should indeed be taken into effect that you should use underground area as a way to preserve food in medieval era, as in modern. Those tunnels, stone layers, and such should cool your food to stay preserved for longer. Even keeping it at the bottom of the pyramid should be efficiently proper for keeping food intact. Living in a cold winter biome should keep your food intact near an infinite number that you could probably work out a transport network of sending food to a winter biome, then back again via horses, trains, and trucks back to settlements when needed. IN the real world, in Sibera, people preserve their food outdoors, yet protected from animals behind a wooden wall (somewhat like a garage) because of how naturally cold the environment is in that fridge-like state. If you're in a modern era then I bet people would make 'cool storage warehouse' in their modern era settlements to keep all the food from spoiling. Frozen foods, and such. Smoked salmon, smoked fish, ice cream, among other various sorts of more worthwhile foods relating to meat, fish, and maybe even veggies & fruits.

I also love the mention that we'll be able to smoke & salt our food to preserve it, something that adds a nice awesome touch to the survival side of things.

    Quote

Yes, definitely. Keeping things underground in caves sounds like a good solution. Other options would be to preserve food (e.g. salt or dry meat).
We just want to do something about the "food part", right now it's too easy to survive (planting a few tomato plants already solves all your food/water problems^^). But of course it will be possible to disable food spoilage in the settings.

if anything, we're at the mercy of Red51 on the vanilla side of things. We should however be able to tweak this via plugin API, configs, and such. I'm curious to see how Red51 tackles this as to not piss off the casual players, nor the hardcore players, even if we can tweak it plugin API wise.

One thing I need to do is build more like Harv & Daboiye are able to build because you can do SO much more with planks and beams. We have 'Planks & Beams' plugin, yet if we can get Red51 to vanilla'ize that plugin then imagine what people could do in the long term without having to do 'restoration' projects for textures and such. I need to see people build the way they do so I can inspire from them, and build that way. I'm STILL stuck building the Minecraft way, gradually making my way into Rising World logic building that I'm seeing more detailing & rewarding pleasure coming out building the way Harv showed he has built. Even simple fences & ramps, as well as walls in buildings.

One thing I"m hoping for is that with this blueprint that Red51 has a built in system to show these showing no textures when we blueprint them into that 'one world ocean' world generation of a true Rising World map.

I had to curse at how these stupid things rotated, yet stumbled across 9 & 3 on the num pad were able to rotate the stupid things around upward & downward (what I was seeking), not spin them in a circle. I wanted up & down movement on these things to make a walkway ramp, and such, yet they kept spinning on me in a bowl manner frustrating me. When you change the orientation I should still be allowed to use up & down arrow keys to bring the stupid things up and down, not 9 & 3 for alternate orientation. I now however know how to use this so let's see how complex I can build now.

I thank both Harv & Daboiye for inspiring me on how to build more Rising World manner, and less Minecraft style. Even Joni, yet he's MIA too much. I'll try and make a build purely planks & beams the next time I gain a strong Rising World itch. I know my images aren't special, but it's the small things that adds up that make it special.

There has been a great demand for a more 'user friendly' furnace in a more industrial manner that this would be helpful for "that person", or people. It would indeed be awesome, and I'd expect this sort of thing once Red51 nudges technology into the modern era from the Medieval era. I approve of his implementations of adding Medieval first, then modern era after that because it be weird to do it any other way.

If there's a way you can attach a stack onto a stick so you can then insert that into an oven then that would be another way to go about it. Just somehow slip the stack onto the ore oven stick, then have it dump into a smelter, then have it pop back out in molds, or something.........

    It would be awesome though.

Let me guess. Animal Breed Master plugin stuff again? 8o

Alright, cool. I've got that sorted now thanks to your help. Just that it now lists me as a player, not Admin. That should be easily fixed on my end as well.

    Edit:

Oh! This works nicely! I love this. I tried to keep my description nice and tidy that this works nicely. I love this!

I also saw information about the player profile stuff that it has me curious what you're cooking for player profile related stuff. I bet it'll contain stats, achievements, and maybe even tie in with special clothing only contained by special events. Maybe. SImilar to how Minecraft has achievements it be sweet if it had account based achievements and such. Clothing, and etc. What you've done with the stats page was helpful that this may also be awesome player wise.

I can't wait for the next update to release.

Alright, I'm back into my 'furious' stages again where I wish we could use garden shears to get saplings off the trees because I just can't get a successful Acacia farm going on. It won't allow me to have enough saplings going on that I wonder if that tree is being stingy only to me, or if it's its naturally stingy.

It deserves its own thread, yet posted it in FTB Turtles thread because it contains something I desired for Rising World. Having NPCs helping you out when others can't or unable to.

    -------------------

    - Colony Survival:

Colony Survival is a Minecraft-Stonehearth-Timber-and-Stone type game where you try to get a settlement established to survive the elements. You try to build up a settlement with the basic resources to turn your settlement into something grand, yet every night monsters come attacking you to put your settlement at risk. You have to have food for your settlers, as well as a bed for them to survive in.
