A new update (0.9.2) is available now!
Latest Hotfix: 0.9.2.1 (2026-05-13)

Well, I was trying to figure out how to divide a stack while playing with a stack in a giant crate I have at my 'Fox Tower' in the desert. Just reading what I noted on the Steam forums in the suggestions subforum of item stack division that I tried left clicking, right clicking, holding control, shift, and all that when my stack apparently was sent to my inventory (so I assume) where it then just outright vanished. I logged off my server & came in that it may have been on the floor, or it may have simply vanished. I have Harv as my witness, yet I think that's also gone. I'm sure I made note of it somewhere in the logs, yet too exhausted right now to do 'paperwork' type tasks.

I think it was before the final update, or something....Hard to tell now. It however seems to be a current rare issue because of that quote......I have to have it happen again then I can tell you if it's still around.

I see I'm not the only one having this issue so I'm going to make note that there's this bug that you tend to lose item stacks that you were to pick up. I've lost a stack of paper when trying to figure out how to split it, yet it just outright disappeared. It didn't appear invisible in any empty slots in either the crate or inventory. It just outright vanished. I'm thankful that a stack of paper is easy to make that it wasn't that much of a loss, yet it's something to track down and squash.

This happened when it was transitioning from the crate to my inventory. Maybe it fell on the floor when I logged out and back into my world......WHo knows if it's an MP issue, yet it seems to be a normal issue.

Something weird happened to picking up stacks and dropping single items in place. I keep losing the stack Im holding

That person also had that issue, and is why I'm posting because it confirms my issue.

When we get horses, camels, trains, boats and possibly airships we'll really need to bump that 10,000x10,000 to a high 300,000+ range so the place won't feel cramped. We'll be having so much fun making big spaces feeling cramped with our technological transportation advancements, as I have in Minecraft. :whistling:

Yeah, what Fox said. I wanted to add that it's recommended to stay within 10,000x10,000 radius. I do hope Red51 tries to tackle this after the major player updates to add the main update + the horses so we can then explore further. It's infinite, yet not really with the bugs and glitches that'll happen that Fox mentioned. I'm glad Red51 fixed the terrain positioning, yet bothered by the range you can build in. I hope it's looked at after the player updates.

Yeah currently there is no real crouching in the game This will change once we have our new player models, although I can't say for sure if the first release of the character models will already contain a real crouching feature (since this needs some fine tuning, so maybe it becomes available shortly afterwars)

Just a small inch of a crouch, yeah. I bet all the kneeling and stuff shall be later, yup. Awesome! That makes both me and others happy.

    ---------

Also, me and Harv have this desire (as well as Zork) to be able to export the map into a .png image file. Is that a possibility? Even in a modding sense? If it stalls/delays the player model update then could nudge someone via modding to do it. Let them know how then someone can poke around with it.

I wish we had more passionate and dedicated developers like Red51. Just look at all these awesome hotfixes! Impressive!

Well, Daboiye has two pyramids he can still claim. Also laughing that each hotfix costs Daboiye a pyramid so he probably lost another one thanks to all these hotfixes. One queued right now, and just staying queued so that's another one offered to the gods, whichever one that may be.

    • [Change] White wood texture is now also available for planks and beams (sawbench)
    • [Change] Reduced flickering of posters

    Nice on this! :D

@ArcticuKitsu and @DaBoiye: It's indeed a pity with the pyramids, but at least unexplored parts of the world shouldn't be affected

Guess we'll have to find him another desert, or just claim the two abandoned pyramids. I now feel much prouder of my pyramid as I'm now able to observe it from my 'Fox Tower' in Brisko Village. I can just chill calmly smelting while staring at my 'restored' pyramid that I had to repair on two occasions.

What Rising World gave me was that fun proud feeling of exhausted satisfaction in building, something I haven't had in a long while. Just pushing and pushing while seeing the end result. Like farming, I guess, and etc.

Can't wait for the player models update so we can continue to expand, grow, and see grander heights both in and outside of the game. The horses, boats, trains, and etc. Having vehicles, airships, or whatever shall happen.

A son of a friend wanted me to ask you (Red51) if we can crouch and have wave emotes in the next update. Crouching currently is useless, and a good way to hide & sneak up on stuff, or even evade threats. I'm certain both are on your list.

Shush! Don't tell Red51 that. You'll get the player models delayed from all these hotfixes ;-p

Heh!~ I live to prank & troll heh :whistling:

Well, as Red51 said I now have to live with the shacks in the desert so that's fine. I'll just have to build mock pyramids where they used to be (or around) if I ever want to get them back. That's fine. I'm fine that let's just get to the player models and animations. I didn't want it hotfixed because it was driving Red51 crazy. Anyways, and that's not me being 'tsundere' (putting on a false front). I'll just improvise.

Now, let's see that preview for the player models so we can hype them up, the clothing, the armour, as well as me finally being able to customize NPCs to bring into my world.

Lastly, I was poking fun that all this fixing was making Red51 go nuts that I was expecting him to let out a curse word. Fox beat Red51 to the punchline, altering it in ways. That's actually quite hilarious haha!

In this case the pyramids weren't supposed to be at that location previously (a lot went wrong with the original world conversion, that's why it was such a drama). Unfortunately there is no chance to fix the missing pyramids, I'm afraid that any further attempts to fix this may break some other worlds^^

Well, that's a shame. As mentioned above i'll just make mock pyramids then Daboiye can do whatever he wants with them.

I've had such a good run that Harv had to boot me off of my own server just so I would get some sleep. When I get going I really do get going (in building), or so he mentioned.

Been talking about how I'm anticipating getting horses, trains, player models, computers, TVs, and etc. It just a great awesome game I can't stop playing when you place in the right fresh features. <3

Red51 finally made note of after many posts of mine to finally separate the marker from the bed & tent so you can actually navigate properly around the world. We now have maps, but having a proper marker on the compass for when we don't have maps is a good way to go about it.

The whole frustration of sleeping at a bed in your home would be overwritten by sleeping at a tent many miles away that it would negate the whole compass marker spawn thing. It just didn't work.

A tent gets its own marking, as well as a bed as its own current marking.....

Nice. Figuring out how to use the permission system is working out. I can soon open up my server ot others to allow others to come in as 'ghosts'. I love how the custom logo handles on the loading screen while desiring for logos on the server list so we can add such to the server bubble. The journal entry confuses me because I do not know where to put the .xml stuff, nor how to mess about with such. If there's a tutorial for such then I may make my own journal.

Also, I see that all the past pyramids turned into abandon shacks in the desert.

Also, Daboiye, I'll have to build you a Pyramid then you'll have to tunnel down to make a makeshift maze or whatever you need. Let's just do it that way. If the shack has loot it's all yours. All of them in the desert that I Haven't picked. I only picked one.

Also, can't seem to get the colours in chat & such to work. Not sure where you're pulling from yet wanting blue & red as a colour.

Many thanks! This has been squished & fixed! Nice! Also, I think I heard that new BGM playing that it sounds quite 'Stonehearth' manner. Something you'd expect to hear in that game. That, and the tears in the world have been mostly fixed by both rake & dynamite. I had to wake up the nearby sleeping voxels that it only responds to dynamite while using the rake to raise & lower the two rips into one another.

The world error is now fixed, as with the tears being both raked & dynamited away. The world is now 'clean' again. Many thanks!

Also, looking into this white wood texture addition wondering where it is. Would be neat if you could point it out in detail as to where this one is located because I'm somewhat struggling to find it.

I think it's ID 84 in the blockbench in the woodblock part. Maybe it's also being subtle with the planks & beams stuff, yet everything was always whitish there. Maybe just ID 84, or something.

Nice! This is awesome news that it's making me happy to have Red51 at the helm of this game. Don't allow this game to drive you mad, yet that form of perfection is something I can relate & admire. For both us do hope nothing else spawns from that issue because it truly does become bothersome haha.

Thanks again, and shall tell you how it is late at night roughly around the same time as tonight's reply heh.

I didn't delete anything. I didn't touch anything, plus I have no time to really mess with the files. I didn't even get to add in the loading icon. It just happened when you pushed out a new update with the paper press variations and such.

    --------

Alright, sent you the information to take a peek at it hoping that it's the right set of information. (Red51). You should be able to whitelist yourself + make a map & etc. I'll be back around 11 pm est so we'll see what happens between now & then.

This one really spooked me with how imposing the pineforest appears in the desert biome. I turned the corner of my new structure to find that the desert now has pineforest, something that caught me offguard. It spooked me that I'm now seeing what may be an old world generation meshing with the new one that only the new-old chunks that you interacted with have stayed. The bit around my spawn (Mountain Bowl) is normal, yet when you get further out to the 0.8.2 chunks with pyramids and such (the bit where biomes were modified) everything just flipped out.

I'm thankful the surface dungeons are back, yet the older world generation seems to be over-riding any untouched landmass by converting it back into the old world generation. I'm at a loss as to what happened, or if any conversion failed. It's now preventing me, and others, from playing on the main server that I'm now cursing I didn't back up the world.

Image 1: The view outside my new workshop & storage tower

Image 2: the pyramid that was overwritten by another, now found in what may be the original lake of the first world generation of the ocean & lakes. My desert was originally a hybrid of a lake and a pine forest.

Image 3: Alternate view of #1 where the pyramid was threatened to be wiped out by pine trees. Even the empty part above the farm has a single tree where I was to place a farm house to store supplies.

Image 4: My pineforest (new chunk) still remains as it becomes a road through an ocean that was originally there.

Image 5: Same as above, but with my campground I was trying to build up using planks, beams, and such.

Any way this world can be rescued? It seems to have suffered the same fate as Foxbox that I'd love to fix it ASAP so Harv could jump on to play on it. This ruined his weekend.

You wouldn't have to worry about copy infringement if you're on a server while keeping it out of youtube videos. It should be fine.

roasted pumpkin seeds should be a thing, yes. YOu should be able to scoop out a pumpkin with a spoon to get seeds out of it. Yeah, doesn't have to be filling, just rewarding.

Environmental diseases is what you'll indeed see in the future. Having to stay hot in cold biomes and cold in hot biomes, yup. That's planned. Go play 7 Days to Die and you'll get a basic idea of where Rising World is going. You'll catch as cold, and etc from the environment that you'll have to worry about quite a lot with medicine being of high importance for when you survive.

How detailed is to be seen, yet wouldn't be surprised if we would see diseases naturally in swamp to ward off. Hogweeds themselves you'll have to be well protected in long sleeves so you wouldn't get skin irritation in the game.

There's a lot planned. You can see small signs of such in the winter type biomes when your character exhales. That in itself.......As for collapses in mines, I'd say leave that for Medieval Engineer as things might get a bit too tedious. Maybe some falling debris here and there, I guess, which would force you to wear a mining helmet and such for safety to negate damage.

    Alright, from what you listed..........

Fish & Fishing: I really do want to see fish & fishing because that's how you start off surviving. It's also something that keeps you alive throughout the years because it regrowns. You can go for salmon, tuna, clams, mussels, and etc. I do hope we get both fish AND the likes of mussels, clams, and oysters to farm up. Fishing is coming, just how detailed we'll have to see.

Woodworking (Figuring & etc): Yup! I agree here it would be neat to make more decoration goods. Even metal working stuff into model kits and such. Making model anchors, and the like.

Pumpkin: Having pumpkin pie is the first thing. The next thing would be to make smoothies out of it (not a fan), as well even slicing up the inner parts as pumpkin slices. It needs to be something you eat, yes.

Improved Water manipulation: I agree fully here. Even having it level with the other water so it can just fill in all the voids. Just snap to the other water to also reach down to the bottom layer of a solid block so you can easily make a canal. It doesn't have to be dynamic, just simple-coded to just behave properly.

Fur: I agree here that we should be able to make rugs & blankets because floor decoration is at a loss currently. I also hate seeing posters used as a solution because it becomes tedious when you lose a world and etc. YOu easily loose track. Would also be sweet if we could use all our wool and cotton to produce carpets & rugs.

Candles & Wax: Oh! Nice idea. Would be sweet going down to the basics of things by having candles. I'd agree here.

Craft Records for the Gramophone, I know we can find them (and they're difficult to find for sure) but it would be nice to be able to at least maybe craft a handful of what's available.

I agree here. Being able to duplicate them for others should be possible, but only with a musical copying device. NPC Traders probably could offer up that ability, and they really should be able to barter their musical supply for you to obtain. It shouldn't just be an abandoned cabin thing, but also an NPC Trader/Merchant thing. Would love to barter some ores & food for a record, as well as any musical MP3 data, or whichever we get later on.

I wonder if it's possible to 'vanilla' import music by turning it into a record when we get music NPCs to do the recording while borrowing from the poster uploading system. Burn a record into existence by grabbing from the computer and such. I wouldn't worry about copyright when it's kept to your world, and etc.

I also agree that variations for the gramophone would be sweet. Similar with the paper press, as that's been lacking a bit.

Thanks to the map update we received (0.8.2) I've been itching for horses with wagons more than ever now that I'm finding this thread appropriate for such. Nice to see Red51 looking into wagons because we'll be needing that in more frequency and importance the more we gain each and every update. It's also nice to see Red51 is communicating exactly why it's taking forever, because of other plans + wagon not connecting properly. I love that transparency.

Because of that I suggested auto-run, yet haven't gotten that now. With the maps it's needed more than ever now. Shame it wasn't added in the past two updates. 20 min walk is brutal that I don't want travel that often ?(

Wow, that's brutal. Thankfully we're still in a test world (or so we should be) when it comes to testing this out, but damn...That's just brutal. You guys got a massive taste of the small pyramid trouble I had to deal with......

I wish you guys the best in getting that restored.
