It "was" password protected until I switched to whitelist after the fact. Too many troubles & was a hassle inputing password each time. He just floats in the air, even if I TP him that I believe he was standing in a crafting bench or something during log-off, or something.

Well, maybe after the next few major updates, the price will be bumped, Rising World will get Rockstar/Minecraft-like popularity and making millions in sales. Then Red51 can have his gigantic development dream team for the next company game project or maybe even rapid DLC content development for Rising World.

I know I'm biased in my opinions but I still think Rising World is going to be the Minecraft killer some day
Even now it is, yet you know people. They have to see the whole picture before they jump onto it, yet we're here & we can cradle the game until it becomes the grand game people chose to miss until they gain those necessary updates. I'm still annoyed with Lewis from Yogscast for mocking this game constantly just because it's still in Alpha. Constantly whined moaned knowing full well himself how hard making games are. They tried making a game themselves, yet failed.
But yeah, apparently it shall be "months" (not weeks, but months) until Rising World shall gain the mandatory 'Player Models & Animations'. That has me annoyed.
QuoteAs @joni0helper suspected, the new player models and items will be the next big update. Actually it's going to be a huge update, but it might still take a few months until it's ready. In the meantime, there will be some smaller updates

Btw. a big cooking update is also planned, unfortunately we have no ETA for that yet
Damn. Rising World shall be an on-and-off thing for me then. I hope the next updates shall distract me/us long enough until we get the next major update. -
This.
I agree with this 100%.
(Minecraft, MInecraft FTB, Terraria, Starbound, & Astroneer background. Heavy on the Minecraft
)It's so frustrating the game is so awesome, yet it's still so frustratingly youthful that we have to wait many months & years for it to reach its intended goal line. The part where you ride on horses, drive trains & vehicles, even exploring the vast 1-world ocean with many islands & continents.......That's going to take years, something I'm fearing something may intervene to prevent me/us from enjoying the end-goal of the game.
There's so much greatness to it. I just want to see the next Player Models & customization so we can customize our characters + ride horses at the least, then whatever is after that. Cooking? Trains? Something like that.
Hopefully we'll gain teasers of how our characters shall appear.
-
Hmm.......
- Making bears attack but only when in search for food. Have them play in hammocks & such while leaving the damage related stuff to pirates, bandits, and raiders. Make sure you're well armed, have NPCs at the ready and such. Have walls.
- I doubt that. I'd prefer tool durability + their material effectiveness used against other materials. I guess Minecraft style, yet tuned to the Rising World realism.
- I wouldn't mind crafting shoes specific for their use. Running shoes giving you a slight boost in running, snowshoes allowing you to travel quicker in snow (if snow is given the effect of slowing you down), as well as having skis, or flippers for water. I can agree half with this, yet not wanting to have it go too absurd.
- A fence & a rope is something greatly needed. Yeah. Really do need fences, as well as rope to lead animals back. More so once we gain horses so they can stay in their place, or be commanded to stay in place.
- Map is needed, yet Red51 wants to do this properly. He wants to reach the highest bar first before tackling the lower map types (Admist) while seeking more of a Google Earth thing (search through Steam forums dealing with maps).
> A side-Thought of maps: If you want a mini-map then it be necessary to search the area first to then gain access to a minimap that updates only when you're in the area). The modern version of that would be making antenna towers, or even sending GPS satellites into space to gain a more solid perspective of your world.
-------------------
@ Daboi:
- Tombs holding rare loot. There was mentioned that dungeons were supposed to contain rare items you couldn't craft so you'd find them there. I guess they're the torture devices, yet they should contain those similar things in the chests. More variety of records, more unique things.
----------------
- Xalzia:
- Pets is something I'd love seeing, but only if they can follow your commands while not warping. They should be able to be fed, keep themselves fed & thirsted, as well as (on occassions) find you things. They should point you towards dropped items, or even try picking them up to carry back. Things like logs & stone, but nothing like furniture. They should also warn you of danger, yet once Raiders, Pirates, & bandits appear they should attack & defend only if they know they'll survive.
- Side-Thought: Allow me to tame a fox, or an Arctic Fox then I'd be happy.

-------------------------
Lacking survival? Yeah, the updates are struggling thanks to both the water & biome update. Even with the dungeons update. We're still having to wait on the necessary 'Player Models & animations update' which shall then allow us to have nature effects of heat stroke, hypothermia, among other things. Even colds, flus, food poisoning, among other natural effects. I guess basically mirroring what 7 Days to Die is doing, yet minus the zombie madness.
I also love building with a purpose. If I'm told to keep my guard up then that's the perfect game as you're given a reason to build up. Like those drones in Empyrion. Build up, colonize, and explore. Needs more dungeons, more base building that it be Skyrim + Minecraft comparison 100%. I think it already is, yet more so.
The next major update. We need teasers of the next major update.

From what was mentioned openly on steam we'll see all sorts of trains. From diesel, electric, to even steam. Anything that Red51 could manage, and similar. And yes, even after the 'player models & animation' update. Not sure when, yet should be after. It's a highly requested feature that we even 'may' (don't quote) see it after the player models.
What you're showing is actually quite handy, and I've been itching brutally hard for some form of transportation. At least what you're sharing, or even horses & camels. Just something, or even auto-running. What you're suggesting would help with mining, and I'd be all for it. Nice modular designing, something Red51 could fiddle with also in the style he desired.
If Red51 wanted to do something a bit longer range for hauling then I'd suggest 'sugar cane trains' for being small, yet handy.

Should be handy for the little we do carry currently in the game. If Red51 wants to add a liquid storage cart for water & fruit/vegi juices then that be neat also.
----------------
Edit:
Yeah, you're seeking modular that it's something Red51 was indeed looking for us to do. Maybe Astroneer style, maybe even Subnautica style, yet it's something he wanted us to do to customize our vehicles. Who knows if we'll get what you desire of adding various components to the train (astroneer style), or colour changes. I'm hoping it would be a mix of both, even allowing you to build the train out in the open as to give them actual worth & value (Wurm vibes here).
-
Red51 doesn't want to add in automatic or assault rifles. Only survival related firearms such as pistols & muskets. Even bows & arrows, crossbows, and more swords. Basically things like that which shall aid you in survival while fighting bandits, raiders, and pirates.
I'm painfully itching for horses & railway that I just want the player models & animations to release (only if ready). That, or give me auto-running until then. And yeah, so much great potential in this game that it's awesome. WHy I'm here, somewhat obnoxiously.
-
Yeah, the dungeons are like those in Minecraft. The Strongholds, not the single-room dungeons. But yeah.
I'm feeling frustrated that no surface entrances were added into this version, even though I warned of Minecraft's sloppy mistakes and such. A long many month warning that Minecraft at first advertised surface entrances to later be like this update. It howver does what it does right by adding a visible entrance to the dungeons, even well thought out rooms & plans. Hidden traps, and chests.
Land generation without tunnels & caves make dungeons a troublesome task to get to, something I had to cheat on my Niska world, yet did properly in my new Arcticu server.
I'm favouring the bug that Zork showed of Trillnar's experience. That's the way to do it. Sit a temple, some ruins, or whatever above dungeons, or connect them below until they reach the surface. That 'Taverley Dungeon Entrance' is something to consider. Try for a two-part castle (fort or etc) type ruins on top to lead down below via that staircase as it also feeds you into other floors. Small ones are still welcome though, just make sure they connect somewhere.
-
Crab Apple tree & Cherry Blossom tree. Would be nice if they're in bloom, or randomly go in bloom. The crab apple tree being dark purple in summer & light pink (like Sakura) in spring.
I'm loving the mention of new seed types + mention of grinder for these. Let it happen

-
Axed the zombie stuff? They're still plausible, just need to keep the paranoia & fear in moderation. I can still see zombies when you keep them weighted & worthwhile, but keep them only in what could be considered a 'tainted' & poluted' place. Maybe closer to hell, or just a rare poluted biome, or a side effect from our industrialization that it would taint the dead from our nuclear waste. If you don't want zombies then don't go nuclear.

But I'm loving the idea of ghosts, but in a less scary way. I wouldn't play Rising World anymore if they kept jump scaring me to death. Make them more friendly, more of the wandering type that would see peace when you chest their bones near orbs, and etc. A head, rib cage, and 4 limb bones would do. Another thing. If there are helpful 'quest' ghosts I would put them in that big dungeon room with the double urns. Not in them, but in that room for how 'spacey' it is.
If you want jump scaring ghosts then give me NPC followers who follow you & attack, otherwise I'll shy away from dungeons in frustration & fear.

If the ore detector would be able to detect dungeons that would be great
Or even bones (as there are lots of them in dungeons and shacks)
then no need for the dungeons to have an overground entrance, at least not all of them
just an idea
That seems a bit silly. It's a neat idea, yet let's nudge it more to some alternative compass type, or something like that. The "all in one device", or something along those lines. If a compass is going to stay a compass then I'll favour this "all in one device" while keeping ore detectors simplified also. Not being cruel, just that it seems a bit silly.
But yeah, I do agree that then that be a neat way to find the dungeons via another proper device. Not actually directly pointing towards the dungeons, just leading you in the general direction. I suggested a compass blue arrow, yet that was shunned upon for 'cluttering' the compass. I don't know........

-
Well, I did go on about GEMA when Red51 told me about how you have to pay for taxes & etc on everything. All these silly 'electronic taxes', registration, and etc that I went on a venting spree because I hate seeing censorships in anything. It's horrible. The GEMA thing being the light to an already bubbling keg when Youtube kept adding all its stupid censorships that you can't watch videos because of region copyrights, and all that nonsense. One of my videos also being blocked for German viewing.........
It's just silly. Painfully silly, and trivial. Petty. The day after I vented about GEMA they retracted their ban on Youtube, something we (me, Red51, & Zork) all found interesting. A funny coincidence......That, and and as the below video says German authorities also were forced to unban certain games due to their popularity.
I find it interesting on many levels that Rising World is from Germany when it has to deal with many limitations caused by German government stupidity that it also (lightly or heavily) harms Rising World in various ways. How people are sensitive over nudity when it's a normal thing, how beer/ale/wine is a taboo, and etc. It indeed is a trivial game feature (both), yet they still add to the gameplay in various ways. Things like building pubs & etc.
I find censorship frustrating that I snap at it all the time. I want to see Rising World being awesome, thus why I defend zombies, among other things. I just want to see the possibilities. If it's possible, make it happen......Same with seeing anime mods, and those +18 mods. Why stop it? If it's worthwhile let it happen.
(Side-Note: I'm not a fan of rape mods & such when you see me mentioning +18 mods & etc) -
I brought up the compass behavior to Red51 and he said the compass behavior in Hell is intended. I guess most of us haven't broken out a compass down there to have noticed.
Makes me glad that I have when screwing around seeking out dungeons in creative mode first. Now we all know

I can't stop thinking about dungeons making use of the stairway to add more floors, layers, and etc until it reaches topside (surface entrance) to maybe even lead into temples & etc. There's that potential there. Bugs me how dungeons are trapped in bubbles underground, same mistake Minecraft made.
-
Well, that was a fun session. Glad you allowed weather to be viewable through glass as that was one of my biggest concerns that I have never mentioned. I haven't experienced it, yet it's awesome.
- I have to note that I had no cave or tunnel generation under a mixed pineforest-lake combo that it made locating & accessing dungeons a real pain in the rear. I had to cheat a lot by using F2 to hunt down whatever dungeons I could find in the no-tunnel landscape, plotting and planning my routes wishing I had beacons, or something. Tunneling like mad for a good few hours...... Maybe it's a biome related thing, or it's an actual bug. Who knows if it was worthwhile or not. If such a thing happened again could we find dungeon related gadgets to hint-tease us in the general direction? Something like the compass, but for both medieval & modern area to vaguely point us to the nearest dungeon. Maybe a treasure map, maybe an actual gadget. Could even be a 'fantasy orb', or something more on the creative side. Anything. Something survival be nice.
- If it's possible, try adding modules & scanning to either A) Make dungeons generate a surface entrance, no matter how shallow or deep they are in the ground, or B) have them connect to one another until they can reach the nearest cave by scanning if another dungeon is in the area to allow for A to happen to reach surface. Just bugs me that there's no immersive way entities could have built such structures when they're stuck in their own bubbles, or missing tunnels & etc. Make use of the stairways and whatever else. Elevators, lifts, and etc.
- I like the way the ruins were scattered in the ocean, yet it's at the point scuba gear, snorkels, re breathers, submarines, and such ends up being gradually more mandatory with how phobic these ruins are in certain oceans. There's oceans without them, some filled with them, and etc. (or so I noted from my experiments). I love the ruins wishing for shipwrecks now.
- Dungeons need better loot variety. Maybe some ingots, weapons, and etc, similar to what ocean ruins have. The dungeons loot system needs to contain more unique things, maybe even ancient crafting benches, craft specific things, and maybe more broken furniture in chests. I guess I'm sure Red51 has some things planned that hasn't made it in, yet loot should have also been records, among other things. Animal fur/hide would have worked.
- Seems to be a belated note that compasses go crazy in hell, Minecraft style. Love that! Another fun Minecraft thing is how dungeons are moduled attached to one another that they spawn all interestingly in the world.
- We need carpets in our world by making use of cloth & fibres. Be neat if we had more carpet options, such as the bear rug. A friend of mine commented we need carpets.
- Loving the various spooky dungeon music. Really fits the mood that I keep thinking towards Skyrim from my dungeon experiences. THere's even one BGM that has a big bass vibration that it's interesting to hear it. Makes my headphones vibrate lightly.
Well, it's a nice hotfix that I managed to colonise new land, yet the issue and frustrations I had was something I had to cheat to get around. Dungeons really need surface entrances, or more immersive entrances.
-
Well, you're in luck. Most of these are being made! Nice!
Player models & customization shall be a thing. They shall move. The thing about traits is something I'm hoping shall work up more of 'the more you use it' instead of skill points, unless done the Planet Explorer ways where you can gain unlimited skillpoints. Maybe even the Kingdoms way of talking to other players & NPC for knowledge, or even hitting up books to learn more.
Nakedness shall not be a thing in vanilla, yet it shall be as a mod. It's bound to happen so no use resisting to those wanting to resist & groan. There's some good ones in Skyrim, just as there are silly stupid ones. Matter of preference, as with how people want & don't want zombies.

Clothing shall be a thing, and that should be in the next update. I'm hoping Red51 shall continue releasing batches of clothing updates as they make Japanese game quite fun. Seasonal types, limited ones, and etc, yet they wouldn't be limited in Rising World manner. WOuld be interesting to see what modding does. The whole bandit, raiders, and pirates shall be an interesting thing to see. Red51 is wanting to add those, and I'm desiring those. Loving the mention of animals running away from you, even placing down lures. Haven't heard mention of those.
I do love your mention of patrols & settlements. The castles, and etc. You have nice solid ideas, yet most are already on their way in the next update. Hopefully. Shall read the rest.

I would love to see the ocean beach gaining more life to it. More mountains, rocky edges, drop offs, among other things. More 'ocean life' that I showed Red51, yet it's probably too complex or too time consuming currently. What I showed Red51 was more of a cove type thing where you can hide in ocean caves above, yet it be neat if we had some below also for how deep the world generation seems to go.
Coves & Cove Caves:
1) https://prd-wret.s3-us-west-2.…Cove--Jennifer_Lorenz.JPG
2) http://www.shzongyue.com/data/out/37/38980670-cove.jpgI do love the ideas of coconut trees, as well as American Agave, and even Bayhops. Even some odd standing rock formations, or even more 'sand grass' (Cuba), or something. (https://aos.iacpublishinglabs.…jpg?domain=cx.aos.ask.com & http://cdn.c.photoshelter.com/…regon-dunes-EdBook095.jpg)
When I first joined this community I told Red51 to pay special attention to the sky, more so because of how sloppy & lethargic Mojang is with Minecraft. That, and it's often an unused space that we really do need to see birds, airships, helicopters, among other things in the sky. Even rarely, dragons. Realistic dragons from Red51's 'Fantasy Biome' idea he wanted to play with. I really want to see Red51 play around with the fantasy biome, but with actual 'realistic' feeling Dragons. Not something you would kill, but something you could also tediously (yet worthwhile) raise a dragon to also be your pet & flying mount. Something like the game called 'Black & White'. That's on a whole different conversation & suggestion though......
Yeah, I would love to see shipwrecks, more sea-life decorations on the beach, some sea-type fossils, sea junk (rotten wood, opened mussel waste), among other things. More bendy & changing beach variations, among others. Beaches need the most touch ups.
Also, not just for something to be ON the beach, but also settlements (little tribal villages), pirate bases (leading into/touching mountains & forests), as well even fishing ports. Basically places you'll see NPCs actually going into the water to fish up actual genuine fish to then store in actual storage devices. Something you can trade with, yet when caught stealing you'd be hunted & tracked down by them. THere's lots needing to be done, and lots you can do with this.
Bonus: If it isn't too much to ask:

Red51's fictional take on a Caspian Sea Monster for a more Cargo related use. For when we tech up into Modern Era we should be able to build a Caspian Sea Monster, something that should see far more use when the world is switched over to a 1-ocean & many islands world generation. Again, keep in mind that the sky has to be used so this just adds onto that thought. I'll make use of boats, and I'll be happy when they're in, just that this is something to note for the future while I have this on my mind.
-
Yup. Already have it, and it's as Zork said. Makes sure you have a man-made block with you selected (active) in the hotbar to then hover over blocks. It was a hassle that I asked Red51 to do such, and glad we have such a feature. Was frustrating not knowing what we last used. Thanks, Red51!

Then turn off them lights

-------------
- Niska Village: Logging Cabin + Pub Build:
This next batch of images being from the same session as the above, yet split because of how many images I've taken. Been a fun build trying to get a logging storage building built in the style of a loggers cabin + having it focus on log storage. Was being highly annoyed at the thought of not having a dedicated structure to contain (hold) my cut logs.Secondly, once that was built, I desired rebuilding a gathering area (loosely named 'pub') to allow a place to idle. Basically a place to eventually gather food, to drink, to listen to extra sets of gramophone record music, as well as to deal with NPCs in the future. I'm hoping I'll be able to customize NPCs & such to my heart's desire to eventually allow them to vendor food, water, among other things so they don't idle rotting in storage crates. I'd love for them to handle food.
I also tried to further experiment with the 'Niska Pub' by trying out a new door style, loving it from all points of views. Even considering adding a second layer to the structure to contain sleeping areas, yet shall only do that once I'm aware of having NPCs in a more 'survival' behavior. If a wandering NPC merchant travels to through the world then I would love them to gather at my pub. I basically created that 'Niska Pub' to hold the piano, the extra sets of music discs, and to future proof it a bit to hold NPCs and to allow for the 'Cooking Update' to have fun with it.
(Last image is of a piglet I spawned back as a 'prank' present for my friend when the little piglet was introduced in an update. He only now just saw it thanks to this dungeons update adding in adventure type stuff.)

- Pitch Black Night: (0.8.0.1)
QuoteDisplay MoreI'm not sure if this is intentional, yet it was spooky & scary as hell. It was sudden, if a bit gradual, with how it crept in. Just being in my friend's home's attic to see his crate storage switched over from chests that he saw darkness when looking down into his main room. He was wondering what the hell was going on so I went down with my pen light to try and light itup, to no avail. I barely could see far enough, yet it was DARK. DARK! We inched our way out onto the main roadway to see we couldn't see crap. Nothing.
It's like a damn horror game........
Holy hell, was that every scary. I do not want Red51 to change this, just that it was quite an experience that I should have done as Zork said by recording this. BY having my OBS at the ready, yet haven't. I'm going to assume it has something to do with overcast + night time + Fog all added together that it just does..........THIS.
What an experience........Once you experience this you're pretty much screwed if you're traveling & roaming the world. It's like being in a snow squall or insanely dense fog. Red, do not remove this, just that I have to make note of this.......Holy hell.......
What an experience, and I wish Red51 would keep it like this. Even the inside of structures was darkened, yet a part of me is asking for that to be fixed when we're on horseback heading into structures, or something.
This was caused by heavy fog that it just blocked every bit of light, something I'll be needing to replicate for a video in a few once I can nudge my videos up to 40 views, or so.
-
I mentioned this on the Steam forum, yet it was horror game spooky with how darkness just creeped into the world.....I'll just quote the posting while attaching the images.....

So we should only expect to see like one shack per biome? Will this change or is this the plan?
From when I was trying to find an ocean I could only find one shack per biome so that's what my scientific conclusion resulted in. I saw one in a forested winter biome (I have an image of it), and again at the edge of a savananh biome. It's probably different each seed, yet that's what I'm going with. Maybe 1-3 shacks per biome, nothing more.Think of the jungle temples in Minecraft, and even pyramids in desert biomes. Not every biome has them, yet they'd be there. Numbers shall vary a bit.
