A new update (0.9.2) is available now!
Latest Hotfix: 0.9.2.1 (2026-05-13)

There was mention of oil being found in deserts (later on), plus vehicles shall be added after horses & camels. Trains (of all kinds) shall be added once those are ready. The only flying thing confirmed seems to be a hand glider.

Electricity is also planned, yet was said to be after all the vehicle stuff. It shall come after everything (or so was implied & said).

I'm just hoping we can have alternative fuel sources so when oil runs out we can keep using farmed goods to run our vehicles. Solar powered, electric vehicles, and the like. Even converting gas vehicles into electric ones via part component swapping. I tried suggesting this a few times yet unsure if it's been noted or not..... ?(

Bows & arrows, crossbows, muskets, pistols. Canons you'd find in colonial era sail ships & fortresses in Medieval era. Things you'd find in other survival type games. Red51 wants this to be more on the survival side that this isn't going to be Call of Duty, nor Battlefield type games. Just simple survival weapons you see in survival movies.

8o Sounds promising and already rather enticing! ^^

(The lake looks really gorgeous. I am collecting seeds with interesting lakes: any idea of this one?)

Glad you believe so. Trying to build things up whenever I have to time that I managed those builds. Out of everything I built I'm favouring the bridge I built, yet tryiing to figure out what to do with the staircase design some more by complimenting it. I also agree that those lakes you made note of are indeed the highlight of my server world generation. The insane beauty, as well as their vast numbers. The best part, so far.

And sure, 'Arcticu' for the grand Minecraft 'Arcticu Empire' I had going, something I'd love to replicate in Rising World 8) . Those lakes are EVERYWHERE! Mostly north & Northeast so far, yet they're EVERYWHERE! I wanted to find another biome, yet was stuck in a repeating lake & the maple-pine 'Canadian Shield' type rocky terrain. Bumpy canyons type thing.

Miiware, you're always welcome now that I know you on here.

    - General Joining Server Note: :!:
    (Just a general posting)

I do apologise to those wanting to jump onto my server, yet being denied by me because of not being familiar with people. I go by an honour system that you have to play nice, or you will be booted at the first sign of trouble. Blame the griefers on Minecraft, and again on Rising World forcing me to do things this way. This will also hold true until I figure out how the permissions work by having first time users travel the server as ghosts. The delay also is because I need to set up settlements also to make things 'interesting'. Even waiting on the next 1 or 2 updates before expanding further to make another settlement also.

I had someone on Steam poke me, yet had to sadly put him/her in a holding pattern because of that 'stranger' vibe. I'm not wanting to give a cold shoulder, yet trolls & griefers need to be blamed. If you want to join then consider join like an interview. The better you are, and friendlier you are the more likely you'll be able to join, something Vortac has done for his server also. The more you mingle with people here without stirring drama the longer you'll also join & stay.

It's still going to be a private server, yet depending on how permissions work I can try nudging things slightly in certain directions. A mature group of buildings in pure survival setting.

    (Note: All work in Progress!)

1 & 8) Just playing around with harmless rats as they went scurrying around the map. They later disappeared that it was as if I haven't done anything.

2 & 3) Trying to flesh out the medical building while trying to add some 'curves' to certain parts. Some flare. I'll add the red '+' in the next session via plaster, yet also supposed to be your basic medical area. Currently treats bandage related wounds & broken knees. It's open for further expansion for climate related stuff, among other things. 8 beds for NPCs, if they require such.

    4) A user's home using pure 'Planks & Beams' plugin. It's impressive, yet still not done! More to be added!

    5) Interior of the 'medical building' second floor. Open to hold more supplies, more detail, and even medical equipment of any sort.

    6) One of the occupied rooms in my Mountain Bowl Inn. Something basic until I expand into my prototype city later.

    7) Working on a tunnel that connects the 'Inner Mountain Bowl' with the 'Outer Mountain Bowl. An easy access to spawn in, go through a tunnel, then reach the outer district area. The inner one to contain an Inn, some starting stuff, and such.

Just the start, yet making a nice foothold :)

Nice, nice. Yeah, no need to rush it all out. Do take your time as I'm jumping all over the place in Rising World trying to get things built up without using PNB, yet it's just stuff I wanted to bring up. Some things that I noticed.

Yeah, I'll be sure to bring up the NPC side of things once they're ready & such, if forget. Can't wait for the updates. Shall experiment deeper & more detail with the plugin once I finish building two more things. Awesome stuff :D

I'm loving this plugin. It's adding so much to building & customization that I wish this was in by default. Seeing two buddies building with these that it's awesome. WHat makes me happier is how it's survival friendly.

It be nice if the following could happen.
    1) Have ID show on the texture when you hover of them.
    2) Once NPCs are introduced to tie this plugin with the NPCs in a merchant/vendor manner.

Nice stuff! I also get the null error & it's because I simply close out of the list when not purchasing anything.

Finally wanting to try it out wondering if it would be possible to simply place the files into the folder to then have a 'plank and beams' type interface to pull up the models within the folder. You would then place things around blueprint style, or something. That possible?

Finally found a Bismarck WW2 model that I'm hoping "should" work (also bookmarking it here in ways).

    https://3dexport.com/3dmodel-bismarck-27393.htm

I'll test it out though the original way, unless there's an easier way after (tonight, or later). I'm curious.

Yup, that's what Rising World is! It's an awesome game only going to get better with each update. It's not just the stuff we have now, but also the stuff that's coming that makes this far more awesome. A nice 'Minecraft + Skyrim' type comparison.

I'm loving the planks also, as with the 'planks & beams' plugin. I just wish that plugin also showed IDs, or tapped into the ID reading part.

I'm mainly looking forward to when horses come with how we'll be able to customize them. Them, plus trains, vehicles, among others. Even the way we smelt is unique & worthwhile here. You can in smaller or bigger chunks, even eventually going into modern era industrial once we get there. I'm seeing even hardware related setting options for headphones, among others that 1-ups Minecraft on everything. It's glorious. Everything that Rising World does 1-ups Minecraft in that same zone.

More biomes to come, more goodies, more greatness. I just love this game itching for more updates to release. I"m constantly experimenting with my builds to see how to be less Minecrafty, and more unique. Trying to take advantage of the beams, the window frames, among others. I however want Red51 to add in those 'stepping stones' for roadway type stuff.

Some images to post up from the time it was started till now.

    • A nearby lake that's highly gorgeous & scenic. One of the many within the world that everybody can happily own a nice gorgeous lake.
    • Mountain Bowl, as seen from the mountain by a beginner's shelter shack on Day 1's end when the server started.
    • My bridge I built today (out of order image) heading towards a flat area + a pineforest. Was hoping to have an easier access to the beach, yet this brought me closer to a pine forest.
    • When Red51 fiddled with the rain transparency I was able to see the rain both to the left & right at my 'General Workshop'.
    • My home with the tree farm & Joni's lookout on the mountain. Glad to have a home on this map.
    • A medical building interior I'm working on to hold bandages, splints, as well as 8 patients in 4 rooms; 2 per room. Used planks & beams plugin for the door frame related stuff. ( should have shared the complete floor 1 image instead)
    • The 'Medical Building', the dirt area I cleared, plus the bridge I'm standing on being previous to image #3. A ton of dirt was cleared (all the grass-less area)
    • Mountain Bowl Inn containing a 'bar' type area on first floor & resting areas on top floor. 6 rooms to hold people + a patio/balcony area to enjoy the view of the canyon nearby.

Trying to build up the settlement while waiting for trains + another possible dungeon update before expanding some more. Also, the better parts are not being shared as they're such fine details making me need to do a video tour when ready. Still need to up a few more buildings before that.......

I finally have a server going, yet shall be whitelisted for now until I set everything up properly. Starting off with a few 'trusted' members, then shall expand as time goes on to have it be more of a semi-open server once I figure out the permissions. The name 'Arcticu Valley' is just a borrow name from my Minecraft map meaning covering the whole map, not a region. It's more related to my territory in game, once I establish that in this & the final map.

    ========

    - Server Details:

    ========

    - Current Settlements:

    • Mountain Bowl: A spawn town containing our beginner homes before we branch off into the world. This settlement is located both within the 'Mountain bowl' as well as having more room on the exterior. (Maybe not at the beginning, yet shall spawn a mini settlement within the bowl for spawning purposes, and for name-sake purposes).
    • Brisko Village: A desert city birthed by a pyramid upon first desert dungeon update. Expanded around pyramid with 'Fox Tower', a small farm, 'Mini-Brisko Museum', Canadian Tower, Lumber Lodge, as well as 'Canadian 50's Diner'. A desert settlement making the most of the desert life.
    • Arcticu City (Coming soon): A prototype city inspired by my Minecraft builds, yet being a testing ground until Rising World matures enough to have a '1 world ocean' biome. Shall begin work on it once we gain railways. Not horses, but once railway releases.
    • More coming eventually......

    -----------

    - Other:

Again, I shall open up my server to visitors once I figure out how to work permissions so I can have myself as adming still, my current users as a higher tier, and the visitors being the 'ghosts' & 'tourists' of the world. I also have to spend time building up the server, yet also wanting a place to share images here.

If we talked for long enough, and in good standings, then you're welcome to join me. If I missed anyone, or if they're interested then simply PM me. I must know that you won't mess up anything.

    My 2017 thoughts:

I want to tame & own a horse so I can get around properly. Even decorating it, as well as having storage on it.

The second biggest one would be trains. I really REALLY would love a train to connect my settlements & outposts. I would also encourage people to build settlements to visit, even visiting NPC settlements to interact with.

When building my bridge today I've even been wondering about a little scooter to move around. Doesn't have to be much, just enough to get around quickly.

I keep mentioning that 1 world ocean biome with many island & island continents because that's where Rising World shall be the most fun at. Red51 mentioned it, and I can't wait to see him take it there. Same with his plans for boats a long while back with durability & water type attrition. All those horses, boats, and stuff. We'll have a little bit of everything near the end of it and by the end of it.

For now, just more sandbox plays-testing until we get to that stage........

I wonder If there are any near future plans for addition of a few extra biomes/plantation.

I'm sure there are, yet Red51 wants to hold off on any major terrain related updates as it runs the risk of corrupting our worlds. He wants to limit any pain because of how much we've built (blueprints). He wants to add more biomes, yet I'm with Red51 on adding other features before expanding on swamps, volcanoes, jungles, and etc. Adding player models, transportation, and etc before going into the other stuff. Cooking needs to be a thing also.

Note sure which ones were forum worthy & not, yet someone on Steam forum seeking bow & arrows. Zork asking me to share variety also.

Red51, if you see this feel free to yell at me & delete this posting if it's "too sensitive". I stopped asking for teasers for this very reason, yet wouldn't mind seeing player models & animation teasers. It's all up to you. I don't want to be a pest, thus I stopped poking Red51 directly.

Basically two bow types, as well as one modernized version. Crossbow is above. Shall be glorious once we get to the next major update.

Rising World is a mix of both. Construction so you can survive the elements while also surviving the elements building things. One is for survival, the other is for creative pleasure. If you don't want to build then you can simply survive or build things. Even go nomad, or what should be the plan as time goes on. It's the whole freedom where you have a good idea of it in 7 Days to Die & Minecraft by occuping a structure to then settle into it. THat, or build a city with our own bare hands.

The end goal is basically what '7 Days to Die is', minus zombies so you can be a nomad hopping into already built structures, or you can be stationary building grand cities while surviving.

One of my friends has a short attention span that I'd love to see him enjoy Rising World as much as he has with Skyrim. If more dungeon goods can release, as with NPC interactions, I could fish him into the game whether he loves it or not. If we can gain loose questing (survival) and such, exploring, have auroras in the sky, and similar to what Skyrim has then it be awesome. Having bandits, pirates, raiders, ghost towns, zombie island lore (rare zombies), and etc. Actual purpose to things then it would make him & other short attention minded people enjoy the game also.

Here's a quote to what Red51 said also about more block construction:That's awesome.

    Quote

Red51 says: I guess having the various bark textures available at the block bench would be a nice addition We will put that on our list.Btw. soon any block shape will be available as "construction element", i.e. you will be able to place, rotate and scale it without any restrictions. This allows you to rescale the current cylinder block (in combination with a bark texture, it would be very suitable as a wood log)

The amount of attention to detail is why I love this game. I'll now 100% also acknowledge my 'fanboyism' to this game, something told to me in jest on steam.

I love it how Zork's mind is going wild. I keep thinking the same thing, even now afraid to go in dungeons only because of the atmosphere. It's only for those that have shafts sticking out of the ground.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind burnt out forests, embers everywhere, yet it might need to be near a volcano, or even to some bandit camps & such. Bandits, raiders, or pirates having done it themselves. As for the dungeons, maybe tie it in Mayan style of they were once there, yet either colonization or looting caused them to die out in the Spaniard manner of illnesses. That, or "aliens", or 'fantasy biome' idea Red51 had going.

Abandoned modern day stuff? Maybe tie it in with disease, resources strain, among others. Or, Red51 could go a tiny bit anime, sci-fi, or Subnautica with it that humans made a space colony by heading out to another planet, yet we happened to be the few stragglers left behind.

There's an anime that's both serious, yet does it in a comical manner of humans needing to redeem themselves in some way by repeating history to learn their mistakes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…_in_the_Middle_of_Nowhere

There are a lot of ways to spin it........

Would love to see abandoned railway lines that you could chose to repair to then have the rusting trains restored to drive around. Even museum them, or something.

Hmm...Yeah, being a Canadian I may be poking at this stupidly while having to be constantly corrected by you (Dei) & even Red51. I was told I had things wrong so I just decided to shut up until this video again. I regret posting it, yet I just 100% hate censorships.

Well, glad to hear on that first part, Dei. I guess it's just light model tax, or whatever it was. For every model & music it's taxed and registered, or whoever that works again. I half care & I half don't that it's awkward. :/

Yeah, exactly. Where does it & and where does it stop. The moment you try to over protect is like with the whole 'Blue blooded' nobles of old where trees were padded with mattresses where the royal offspring would bleed on the slightest of prickle.

Yes! anytime you pick the trees it would wait awhile and then bloom and then give fruit. and it would also bloom before giving fruit when growing from a sapling!
it would act like a growth stage

Agreed. Yet, the ones I mentioned probably wouldn't give anything. When talking with Zork with how much he enjoyed his sirloins I thought of orange trees. We really need those once we get into Orange juice. Sakura, crab apple trees, and orange trees. Do we have coconut trees?

Apple & orange juice for when we can squeeze out the juices to then have liquid storage for them.

A few months sounds normal. Seems like we are getting 3 or 4 major feature updates and a bunch of smaller content updates each year. Like I said, when this game kills the charts, as someone else put it, and generates a serious cash flow then Red can have his big dev team. But for now, this is the reality for most startup companies developing a major product. The reviews on Steam are mostly positive, the community is awesome, mods are beginning to develop, and 1.0 is creeping up so I'm not too concerned.

Cooled off again after reading that player models & animations shall take a few months. I thought with that headstart it be out sooner. Guess not.

Nice. Well, it could have happened now, yet you know how silly people are. Hope it does keep gaining in traction & support so we can gain better & better things as time goes on. Yeah, 1.0 is indeed popping up. I'm still curious where the other biomes are at also. The rivers, jungles, swamps, and such. The coves, frozen ice lakes, and etc. That, and it's been warned we can't go further than 10,000 or else we'll gain performance issues hmm.

What you're imagining, that'll be the day.........Can't wait for it. For Rising World to mature, as with the developer team growing :)
