I guess people will view it seriously so fears may be had. Goat sim was brought up. There is a Wolf Pack simulatour out there that has me leaning on support this idea, but only able to tend to thirst, hunger, and only poking around with limited stuff. Other things would be "off-limits" to you. It be interesting on an SMP server with humans co-existing with animal players.

I'd vote for it, if it's done that Wolf Sim way & what I mentioned.

Alright, I'll wander off this thread now...Mistakes happen. Nice that we agree & this thread is making us appear silly and impatient :/

You can not just "forget" the biomes update. It is too large of a part of this game . People do not want an endless forest. Actually if you think about this all of the land generation and Biomes should have been written before anything else. You generate the world first then the rest comes later. Anyhow rising world is what it is and I am sure that one day it will have all the features that Red and everyone else wants in it. Red is the developer so we have to take the game the way he designs it and in the order he chooses. There are dozens and dozens of things to play out there while we are waiting. We will get the biomes one day in the future. I still think biomes are weeks and weeks away and I do not think we will get them all at once, probably 2 or 3 at a time.

Had to re-read what I posted with me not mentioning anything about "forgetting". What I did say was to be "patient". Don't make me turn this into an argument because I've done such on Xcom & American Truck Sim forum on Steam, and is something I don't want to do :/. It's something I don't want to argue about also. I'm just saying to wait it out, and I am well aware that we're all waiting for the biomes. It should have came out in summer, but I'm also happy with it coming out when it's ready. Best played when it's functional, not when it's a buggy crappy mess. There are many refusing to do update videos because of their tunnel vision on the biome, something that I respect & understand.

I know the feeling of wanting biomes from the first & second coming of 1.8 update. The "update that changed the world" for Minecraft was highly special for it adding messa & all those other awesome biomes. I've been there, and done that. It be awesome when it finally comes out. I can't play anything before that version because it added so much.

I'm also waiting to finally get a proper computer so I can heavily invest my time with this, Empyrion, and maybe one other. If it's weeks then so be it. I can wait weeks, and I can wait one more month. If it's not out then Red may need to call in reinforcements from his own team to assist :/. Even so, 'patience is a virtue' here.

I say again just forget about the biome update for now it's too huge, too much work for so few people and I think it's better to pump out small updates - like Red and the team are doing now. I like this current pace and type of updates.

P.S. And sagsave you must be Mr. Most irritating teenage boy on the internet- award winner 2015. I say you are 14 years old. Don't get the bed linens too crusty, mom will notice.

    100% agreed with this.

Just wait it out & be patient. Again, you can' rush art so stop forcing the issue. Yes, Red51 needs to get it out there, but he's also overwhelmed by it. It be best for another 'small update' to then tend to the biome again. Rajkox needs to chill while waiting it out till it's actually ready to be shared. Purposely ignoring the patience part :/

And I worry for Sagsave's personality. Just like Rajkox, they both need to chill out because the whole post of either is silly. :/

Someone mentioned that we should add ore veins so having cave ins in the underground would be something to be cautious about. Seen Minecraft play around with cave-ins that I can see Rising World play around with such on a bit of a more detailed manner. You can go mine for these ore veins while having to worry about it collapsing when you get "too greedy". Even the mention of adding monsters be sweet to "even the odds".

And I agree about adding in the structural integrity, yet with a very bold warning & a filter turned off. Once it's added it should be something people shall be challenging themselves with. I vote for this also while seeing it added into Minecraft through a trolling realism mod & in Medieval Engineer.

How high can you build? Out of what material can be the cheapest, yet strongest fun in challenge? It's all neat.

No rushing art....Go pick up a music program called Fruityloops and make a track. Or go make a playable & functional game in RPG Maker VX Ace, or the new one in RPG Maker MX. You'll learn you can't rush art, especially on the indie side

I'm 100% well aware that there is a 99% chance we won't have any space exploration game. If we do, in that 1%, is to borrow from "Space Engine" & to fly up components in a "Kerbal Space Engine" type of manner. This seems to be ignored, but ya....To visit planets I'd imagine a lengthy journey to then build in the way you can in Empyrion & such by gradually loading up a limited map, or something.

And yes, I'm eyeing Empyrion heavily. Thanks though, but I'm eyeing this, Empyrion, and other games  . I just wanted your pure opinion on this if it'll work out, or not, from your experiences. I'm pretty sure it can, just a year after it matures, or something. Mods, yes. Thanks though.

Ya, some are "fraudulent", yet a nice bunch that are still highly worthy. I understand where you are coming from & respect it. I've seen you throw fits over Rising World, yet view this game with high respect with the updates it's getting. Once we get that next patch & biomes then we all should be happy, but let's keep that out of here. Let's keep it space orientated heh.

Oh! You thought this heavily through. I love this.

    - Spiral Staircases: It's something that would be sweet. People already doing such, yet be sweet as a 'default' for the others.
    - Cylinders: Sure.
    - Steam/Multiplayer: Hosting Minecraft is a damn chore that I'm hoping MP for RW is seemless & smooth. Any fixes towards this would go a long way if it's behind in any way.
    - Roofing Material: Oh! Please! Yes! I always struggled in Minecraft with this game being fitting for anything unique roofing. I"m still seeing people struggling with various sorts of roofing being necessary. It's up to us to shape the roof with the game needing to give us various sorts of designs. Roofs irritate me greatly in these sorts of games.
    - Pitched Roofs: Same reason as above as it adds into variety & beauty. More options the better with it being the most irritating part of a build. Having different angles & such be sweet, even if you can orient the stuff. Given more power would allow for more sweet builds to spawn.
    - Swinging Doors: I'm going to assume that Red51 is going to add such in the long-run so I'm not all too concerned. Just that I do hope it's done in variety to also keep vehicles & other entities in mind. Adding in small & large sorts and all that.
    - Rotating Blueprints: Didn't see this in the update logs so that is a must. Being able to rotate and move is a must & sure Red is focused on it.
    - Creative Mode Erase tool: N/A
    - Creative Mode Block: Agreed that every item & block should be unlimited.

Agreed with what's mentioned, even if I replied poorly in response. Awesome ideas that have my vote.

@red51 Oh! Sounds excellent. But make sure you have a way to counter these things while boldly mentioning filters because people will be heavily in favour of disabling these & other of your monsters on a whim. I'm seeing many "paranoid" type players. Shall be fun. That monster update shall hopefully be fun heh.

Also, at what @yahgiggle mentiond is something I can agree with. More neutral & hostile animals + something to rival the creeper for th fun of it. I guess Bandits, but something that seeks out player-made items? :P I guess we should just "wait & see" once we get to the dungeons to see what you're thinking. Shall be happy avoiding them pack of wolves, among other sorts.

Going to keep any monster thoughts & such hidden until Dungeons update as I mentioned the biome time-trigger spawning type multiple times  . Nice mini-update also.

Thing you have to keep in mind is that people keep speaking about wanting to disable Creepers, yet they have many nostalgic memories about them. Yes, they are annoying, but they also add to the game by keeping you alert & on your toes. You keep building things to keep them at bay. If people have a way to keep them away from you (like traps & cats) then they'll welcome them more. Just as long as people have a way to counter these threats they'll welcome them in. Either that, or they haven't adapted to keeping them at bay so they're simply frustrated they can't adapt. Thankfully Red51 added in filters heh.

You can't read it directly as "people don't want creepers type creatures in" within its blunt meaning. Yes, they're a hassle but it's because you need a way to keep them at bay (i.e fire & campsites for wolves). If we get a "creeper-like" entity then you have to make sure there's a counter to it that people can make use of :) But ya, I would also be enraged if an entity like that blew up my builds. Any "counter" might have to be a relic, a scenery, or something one can place on buildings to keep them at bay. Something that might work on a radius while also being something to stare at when placed down to keep place safe. Lots of brainstorming could be done.

Oh! Racoons! I can happily tolerate them stealing food from farms & such. Something happening "once-in-a-while" type of thing. I accept them stealing from chests also :P Again, people would have to build strong "banks" or storage places with heavily-locked doors. It be amusing seeing someone irritated at Racoons with all they had to do was lock the door & enclose the chests heh. Sneaky Racoons

Loving what's being posted here & hope I'm not being obnoxious with my postings. Love these postings though.

I vote a yes for some kind of notification, pop-up, or audio warning when someone teleports to you. I scared people in Minecraft this way with it being handy for this sort of game. Never know when a sneaky bugger may pop up, or 'innocent' person does.

That's something to make note of, indeed. It would be enjoyable once Red51 is able to figure out proximity for us and the entities in the world. Would be interesting if you could try for "pause attacks" with the bear prepping to attack you so you have this window of opportunity to strike back, similar to what the guy above did.

I also mentioned that bears aren't always hostile that there should be a percentage randomizing when they attack you & when they avoid you to have fun playing in a pool of water. Half the time they should simply be wandering around for "food", and other times they should find themselves building up a hidden condition bar of when to attack you. The same with the Moose. I did mention this to Red, hopefully been made note of.

I want to agree with Renatos about adding NPCS but I guess I'll keep my mouth shut about that until a year or so passes.

I also want to agree with Avenger & Trillnar about focusing on smaller updates but I also wouldn't mind you focusing on biomes. Just do whatever feels 'best' & more achievable. I wouldn't mind either way if we gained more frequent updates or had to wait for biomes. Others who can play are making a big fuss about it that from my view point I can still wait it out until December or January. People want biomes, especially for variety in 'survival' + Let's plays so might as well finally get it over with.

Sagsave seems to be on the same wave-length as I. Neat. Trillnar & Kasper seem a bit confused so I'd suggest checking out Minecraft's 'Galacticraft' in its simplicity. Think along the lines of Kerbal Space Program & Space Engine [This]. I do agree that the world is infinite so that may complicate planet appearances. Should be interesting viewing your world in a globe object hmm.

Starmade I tried out with it being a nice stepping stone to what Empyrion is. They're neat in their own ways, which is sweet in their own way. Space Engineer, I guess also is neat. I'm eventually going to try poking with Empyrion for it has the right thoughts in mind.

I'm not wanting Rising World to be a 'Swiss Army Knife', just weighing the options of what it could & can't do. Basically what Red51 would be willing to do & not do, and what we could get out of it. With that in mind I once again note that I would expect a 'Space Engine' type transportation with some Kerbal Space Program type building in space. Normal block building, but space themed for any foreign planets....

I guess we'll be stuck in thought on this, yet still eager to see what others see and think. If you're confused then dump everything I wrote by telling me how space should or should not function like :/

Hoping books shall be nice and detailed in a similar manner as journal. I guess the only way to do that in Rising World would be to store and share .pdfs. That be interesting. Glad you like that idea.

Fingercuffs: Was last Monday on Oct 12 when we gained the chickens. Red couldn't add turkeys so we got chicken the size of turkeys.

    ---------

Forgot to add biome specific mob spawning that I've seen in Pixelmon spawning. I'm hoping Red51 seriously considers adding in biome specific mob spawning (arctic wolves would do) into then adding bandits & etc that would otherwise stay in other chunks. Basically things that spawn that still breaths life into the game of things still living in the world. I believe I mentioned adding crafting tools that would warn you about these spawnings ahead of time so that's also something to consider for other sorts of entities.

Basically check out how legendary Pokemon spawn in Pixelmon then add in a way to add that into Rising World for mobs, mini-bosses, & etc at random.

Hmm.....Something that came to mind is having default, yet different small signs that you could attach to chests & barrels dealing with ores & foods. Basically being able to hang/display these default signs of carrots on a carrot barrel, or iron ore on a storage chest. That be handy for when posters go all messy on people.

Ya, I'd love some default display signs (small ones) for categorizing food & ores on chests & storage chests. Anything that stores goods. Bonus points if there's variety in design when displaying whatever item.

Either that, or having any item placed on a storage device to have it show what's being stored within. Take your pick. (Silly me didn't read the second posting, but that's what I'm basically aiming for: Wooden carvings & such also)
