A new update is now available, introducing seasons and more!
Latest hotfix: 0.8.0.2 (2024-12-30)

    What's been mentioned above....

    1) Updates: Waiting for more "long-term" features to make playing hours on end possible.
    2) Distractions: Seems like a great portion of gamers are easily distracted by other games so they tend to get easily blown around by the wind. I've known some to have short attention spans that they easily trolled, limiting their gaming time (Not implying, just saying) :/
    3) Time-zones: Can never get around this one. Always neat when your buddies come on, just troublesome when time is the issue.

Games like these are best played with others, and with long-term features so hoping to see RW get to the activity I once seen on my Minecraft side.

Seconded. This is something that should be a must, and I'm sure it'll be added whenever Red decides to send out a "green" update. I do hope we can plot in great variety; Things you see in flower shops & etc. That's this game's bonus.

I second this. There was a vote for this back in spring with it probably being implied for electricity. It be sweet to be able to manually pull (winch) up and down an elevator object as well as electric for both "ages".

Apologies for blowing up again. Simply annoyed that this thread didn't get the two above postings, only jokes that I viewed as mockery. I was hoping for some "immersion" or ideas flowing. Moving on......

I'm sure there's a way to set up a battle arena with NPCs. If we can have RW version of command blocks then that be helpful. Either that, or lure animals from elsewhere to this coliseum. PVP servers would have fun with this, similar to "spleef" and all that from Minecraft side.

Mini-Golf is something I'd enjoy seeing. That & hockey should both work in a similar fashion if we can have stick objects shove items around. I'd happily make a mini-golf area for my reincarnated settlements.

Bow shooting is something I'd enjoy also. I'd set that up first when animations are added. Whenever they are it'll be among the first to be added.

    Sweet :)

@ArcticuKitsu overencumbered haa! All the crazy races and magic and junk.....and you get crippled by a wooden plate! haa!
And why the heck does a Dragon ALWAYS have to turn up as that message comes up: You are carrying too much to run..........GRAAAA!!!!
So begins the usual slow motion awkward, lop sided 'battle' with the Dragon. haa!

I'm a loot hoarder with me needing every little piece of equipment to sell. I always found myself walking painfully slow that I used dragon shouts & the odd horse to get me to a merchant to sell. As for the dragons, just dump everything and fight heh. Pick it all back up when you leave XD.

They're also "silly" like that. I always had them pouncing at me, yet was able to happily dispatch each and every one of them. One had their skeleton glitch, wobble, and move around Whiterun. Imagine that in Rising World, the wobbling corpses :P

That's indeed planned, unfortunately we have neither an ETA for that (most likely not before beta), nor an idea what kind of "games" we will implement exactly. Probably we will at least implement smaller games, like card games (could be quite funny to sit at a table in multiplayer and play poker with your friends), board games and most likely small videogames (playable on a tv for example) ^^

Sweet. I wouldn't mind having fun with any card game. I don't know how to play poker, yet could try learning. Be sweet to try messing about with solitaire, Blackjack, solitarire (standard & spider) for the hell of it. Any small thing works when inbetween builds & survivals. For the hockey & soccer suggestions being minor with a stick being able to push a puck/ball or being able to kick a ball object. No need for referees or official rules. Only simple basic implementation. I can imagine people making use of their already built stadiums for such.

Video games in RW would be interesting also. Computercraft from Minecraft allowed you to do so, same with command blocks. It seems silly, yet I can see it being a worthwhile feature to play basic mini-games, or ones people program into Rising World. I wouldn't knock the idea because it's a fun though.

Going to ignore Yahgiggle and crew's posting because I view it as mockery when I take into account how people added chess & other various sorts of mini-game sinto Minecraft. I guess they're unaware of how much fun it brings when wrapping up your session in these sorts of games. I guess you wouldn't know.....

Seeing as how we all enjoy silly ideas (sarcasm) I thought I'd mention a few in-game enjoyments that could be considered when one is burnt out in survival mode....

    - Chess & Checker board (to play)
    - Hockey (only a stick & a puck)
    - Football (Soccer ball only)
    - Badminton & Tennis.

I'm now going to defend these thoughts because they add more things to do in the game on the side of things. Minecraft had these as plug-ins, Grand Theft Auto Online allowed you to do this for fun so I see why not in adding this into this game. I already see people posting up stadiums so might as well make use of them. Even Playstation Home had these mini-games so might as well have fun with these when the game is considered 'complete'. More to do is always a bonus.

I also stand by my suggestions of riding moose, having NPCs play custom music for you, and having pirates attack you on the high seas.

    Haa! Thanks ArcticuKitsu!
Is tea not a chill out thing anymore? :( it used to be such a comfort drink....but now....?
Anyroad i have the felling that people are being arrogant and nasty for attention, and yes! you have our attention! we don't LIKE IT so STOP! haa! We are a community when last i looked, we really don't want to hear this garbage! Valid, calm, thoughtful questions SURE! This irrelevant rubbish? NO THANKS! haa!

    Respect to all...

Heh! Tea would be a great idea. I poked Red about that if we can have tea, tomato juice, donuts, and the like with him being positive to the idea. I do hope we get green tea (and others) to have fun with in this game. If it's green tea then I'll accept your offer :P

A warning would be much welcomed. Being notified would keep me and others alert when we're full on space, just like in Skyrim. The "over-encumbered" warning heh.

I've been thinking on a similar note with needing to repair vehicles. We're eventually going to get them so I do wonder if we'll have to repair the components within to keep them in tip-top shape. Something would give way, wear or just need to be out-right replaced.

I agree with the main point that something should wear out so you have to keep repairing your tools and such. Seeing as how Rising World wants to be 'realistic' (check out a new game called 'Eco') then I guess this is something to expect in the future. Trading through food is something I'm looking forward to the most; water being second; third being equipment trading.

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE! HAA HAA!

Some folks just need to chill out and find a distraction. Haa! Red and the guys are BREAKING THEIR BACKS trying to get this huge update out. We're all excited about this game and the updates but, you know? It will have been well worth the wait in the end! These guys are 100% genuine, and i intend to stand by them no matter what happens! The thing to do is just find something else to do, while these awesome devs work on the Biomes.
I'm not saying that you're not entitled to your opinion, we all are, it just seems that a few folks are getting a wee bit impatient with the devs with something they're already doing. You'll get your update!
Personally, i'd just take longer, and say, "you'll get it when it's ready!" haa!

I have to agree with him.

Allow patience to be a virtue while keeping our whining to a minimum. It's off putting to the new members also that are forced to go into hiding. I'm finding this thread to be a stain on this forum while also stumped & puzzled with people's reaction when Red has pampered us with Mojang in comparison to AAA game studios. Let's talk about how awesome the "cute" the penguins are, or how surprising finding elephants in this update is. Red is doing an awesome job, and I've been saying that since page 1. I guess my wording is confusing to people :/

Yup.....I can't wait to hear tales of how James decided to colonize the Savannah, or see images posted up of cottages built up in the 'tundra' biome. Even other ones. Too much bickering scaring people away. I wonder if this is the sign that this game is growing.

    - "You know you're relevant when you receive negative comments & attention." - Totalbiscuit & others.

True words.. But I'm sure a really snowy biome (which comes closer to "brutal winter" than the current screenshots at least) finds it way into the game too ^^

You're welcome for the feedback :)

Looking back I may have shared the wrong image, yet happy to hear that we may find more 'brutal' winter biomes heh. I wanted to share more forested areas with frozen lakes & such but I guess that's after all the water & dungeon updates. Something more like this: (Link 1) & (Link 2). I guess I'm just rambling.

But ya, that's awesome heh. Now waiting for the next update.

Ya, at this point I view this second page as "over-reacting". With what I'm used to in the gaming community + with Mojang, Red is basically spoiling us rotten with what we're getting in each update. Everything else is pretty much 'decoration' in text. Even my novel-sized postings.

Nothing to complain about. We're going to get the biome update + the water update + dungeons after that so that's something to look forward to. Blockscape is a mess so it's left to fix itself. Mojang also has issues to tend to by still having to fix boat de-sync issues that they're purposely ignoring. Red's game is one of the few/many games on the block. The small updates Red pushes out is still just as important as the big ones that fixes floating ores, among other things. :P

I now feel horrible when seeing people having their mind blown. I do love this teaser, yet inflated my expectations a bit too high. Now gradually trying to lower them to be able to have fun when we are given the chance to roam about. That Savannah is now spot on; The tundra not so much for me. This being a teaser so trying to treat it as such with weeks to go till it's fully out.

Surprised to see the lions, Giraffes, and penguins while hoping for arctic foxes, wolves, among others. Nice update. I really do want to go surviving & colonizing heh. Keep up the good work, Red! That last shot kind of looks like the rocky mountains.

The Canadian in me wants to see brutal winter, yet beautiful, scenery like this - http://wallpapers.mi9.com/wallpaper/winter-mountains_87724/.

High praises to Red & his two buddies. Keep up the good work. I'm still giving you high praises heh.

THX!!! :) I will definitely build a Japanese round pavillon on the bigger island and add some more sculptures and lamps and in my oppinion Japanese lokking stufff. :P A dragonsculpture would be so nice, but I'm not sure if I can make it just the way I want it. It's a big challenge. ^^

Sweet! Looking forward to seeing more. Dragon statue, pavilion, among others would be sweet heh.

I love your lovely garden. Wish I could visit it sometimes in the future. Hoping to see more additions made in it, especially after the biome update + water. Should be more lovely if it isn't too much to ask to tend to this garden some more.

I'm apologizing because I keep posting everywhere with me fearing I may have posted something stupid. I'm trying to have Red's back while fearing that I may sound like a hypocrite when harassing Red to add in NPC comrades because the world becomes lonely in both single & multiplayer worlds. Something along the Skyrim or Rimworld level of AI for those you can 'recruit' to join you. I had little time to proof-read my post so I hate what I posted mainly here & elsewhere. I failed to mention that in my post with it also being a giant missed opportunity to be twice or three-times as awesome with this game's potential. Apologizing mainly for that & my constant obnoxious posting.

But ya, harassing Red to push out updates quickly just hurts us more than Red because we gain a buggy state of a game. Red has to make the game "Idiot proof" for us to use it. As what was said above, making these sorts of games is a pain in the rear. Something simple, even building a single complex structure, takes absolutely ages. It takes you three days (if highly skilled) building a complex & grand building, then the rest to polish it out. Use that same example for how coding works.....

Wow....But ya, we have Red's back. Take as much time as needed. If I don't jinx myself I'll be able to enjoy both the biomes (or the introduction of water) when I'm able to jump in. Take your time.

I do apologies once again for jumping in but thought what I'm adding may help some.

I've noticed that people are never happy, purposely provoke, or just are innocently ignorant how game development works. I've shadowed Petroglyph Games, those making small flash games to get into gaming studios/industry, and I tried making games & mods for these games of my own. Currently trying to make one using RPG Maker VX Ace and anything simple there takes hours + days. I mean, making it all flow, making things work properly, and etc. Even with few basic mods I fiddled with in games that allowed me to understand their coding. Us gamers have to understand that coding something simple + making them function as intended may indeed take days, but the proper polished one should take 3 or even weeks. We alone can play it as intended, but what about those that want to purposely or accidentally break the coding? You have to make sure features are 'idiot proof'.

I've encountered a troubling & countless amounts of gamers (kids & parents at that) who kept whining hoping to get everything on a gold or silver platter. They wanted to be treated like royalty, this time not something that should be defended. Check out 'Blockscape' & 'Lego Worlds' for all the backlash on steam forum. I even stalked Mojang with Minecraft seeing how everything makes a difference. No matter how big or small the update it's all important. The small updates Minecraft released was worthwhile, and same for this game.

I once again apologize if this is misread or out-of-context or anything. Just that I found myself frustrated when coding doesn't work right while trying to hold respect for Red & his two buddies making this game. We're all eager & I'm still also feeling regret for accidentally lashing out myself along with Avenger up there in other topics.

    --------

[Edit: In short: I'm basically saying that coding is a pain in the rear end with bugs & errors happening. You have to close loop-holes & etc. This tends to push things further away + Red having to deal with us pestering him to release updates when they don't want to function as intended. If we gain it earlier we then complain how everything is broken. Let's be patient & wait for this weekend + when the biomes are released? (Also pressed for time so I made horrible typos. Sorry.)]

    Each to their own.

Well...I guess this idea became complicated the more people tried to mold it to their own. Take a peak at the piano, then at a program called Fruityloops then merge the two for in-game side entertainment. If games like Minecraft can have them then that be sweet.

Whatever happens, happens. I'm only trying to help with me feeling overly agitated over this topic & this topic alone. I now want to burn this topic to the ground.
