A new update is now available, introducing seasons and more!
Latest hotfix: 0.8.0.2 (2024-12-30)

    - Units/NPCs:
[Both in their ship form & 2D KanColle girl form.]

The KanColle version (the main aim of this mod) shall basically be AI NPCs whom you control, command, and attack with on water. They're NPCs you should be able to customize, see battle, and connect with on a patriotic level, or in respect in WW2 manner, even if 'anime-tized'. The vessels themselves shall be treated more of an easteregg while possibly being needed with how simplified the AI shall be. May be needing to escort them around.

    - RNC (Friendly):

    --

    - Enemies:

[Unknown. Needing at least one unit to function first in the game before I worry about this....They would however spawn in the water related biomes if based on ships & air if they're aircrafts.]

    ----------------

    - Help Needed!:
I'll obviously do what I can. Right now I'm leaving this open to recruit the interested while hoping to start off with the 2D-fying of the ship girls. I can't draw, nor can I code, yet shall over-look & tend to whatever I can. I guess this may never see the light because I can't code in Lua, yet can tend to the actual concept itself. Nobody else is going to do it so I want to push it into the realm of plausibility when the game finally matures.

    • Artist: Someone who can draw humanoids while being very specific & detailed for the KanColle side of things. for the uniforms, weapon placements & such. I'll be doing such through HaremMate for characters while poorly sketching the equipment themselves. (May need NPC traders instead).
    • Coders: Someone to actually make this functional. I'll poke with the basics where I can, yet shall need someone actually knowing what they're doing. You'll also need to make the ships float & the shipgirls float for being humanoids on boat hulls to 'skate' on water.
    • Modders & Animators: I never had luck here. I'll need you to assist me, if any. This shall stall this mod the most. Basically for the weaponry, equipment, and even the actual ship vessels that seems to desired more.

If any of you do join me then you have my highest thanks. If not, that's a real shame.

[I guess I'll be the silly bugger to post the first 'mod idea' here with me actually wanting to do it thanks to what Rising World advertised itself to have & be with features. I also know it's "too soon" so I'm at least going to list what I have in mind to see whenever I can put it into action.]

    -------------

    - RCN - Royal Canadian Navy:

<Logo Coming when biomes, water, and my own copy + updated computer all arrive.>

[This mod is waiting for biomes + water update before actually considering adding anything file-related. Also for me to get a proper computer to run this game + the game purchased + the much needed helping hands to make this mod possible.]

    ----

    - Why An RCN Mod?

    RCN = Royal Canadian Navy

Why? Because nobody else is going to. My fellow Canadians are too afraid while the neighbors too the south constantly dictate what should & shouldn't be done. I want to connect with my Canadian pride by bringing them into the vast world that shall be Rising World. All those 'realistic' & detailed features seeming to be perfect for this mod idea.

This mod is basically aiming to add Canadian World War 2 vessels in their human female form while being heavily 'inspired' by KanColle. A way to respect Canada's naval military back in WW2 by viewing the WW2 vessels in their human female form with military uniform & miniture ship equipment attached onto them. This mod is basically aiming to add a nice chunk of Destroyers, light cruisers, and a trio of Armed Merchant Cruisers into this game in their human female form while armed with shrunken ship weaponry on them while 'skating' around on Rising World's water-related biomes. Whenever not in combat they would also be found without their ship equipment roaming the base you built, if you did, while having to collect their cards to even access them from shipwrecks & similar.

One would have to enjoy naval combat, Animefied ships in human girl forms, while also keeping them well supplied & repaired for sorties. All that, while reminding yourself that captains & sailors on those vessels viewed their ships as actual entities; Ships being viewed as woman, thus the human female forms.

[*Note: I'm also open to the idea of actually adding in the 1:1 scale (or rough scale) ships in Rising World, just as long as I can see the 'KanColle' version in the end. If you want actual ships from the RCN then model them while assisting me with what needs to be done. I'll consider such a lovely side 'easteregg' ]

    - About KanColle (Game & Anime):

    -----------

    - Planned Features & Units:

I guess I'm going to accidently complicate things for myself and others, yet still desiring at one point & time to add these to make the 'mini' mod fully functional. These features & units need to both me in to make this mod actually practical in the first place.

    - Features:

[Aimed mostly at KanColle 2D ship girls gameplay, not vessels. I shall welcome actual ship vessels, just that you'll have to insert those for me if you want those. Run it by me so we can make it functional in some manner. I shall 'try' and make use of these NPC Traders by making them their own entities.]

    • Naval Combat - The actual selling point is the whole ship girls fighting & the freedom. This mod shall need the water & water biomes to be releases to allow the ladies to 'sail' in their ice skating manner to do combat. They'll need to be buoyant to float & to do combat, until killed & sunk. I'm hoping to have them go in a fleet of 1-6 (and possibly more) while allowing to be given formations. They would need to attack above (air), directly (on water), and under (submarines). [Boots based on ship keel would need to allow them to keep boyant while inserting a skating (on ice) motion when moving on water.
    • AI Equipment & Inventory - I do hope NPCs shall mirror players in importance when it comes to equipment & inventory space. They'll be needing their 1-4 equipment slots + slots for supplies gained from expedition. Maybe even ammunition.
    • Computer Object (WW2 & 2015 Era) - Various Ww2 era machines to send your ship girls on (1) missions, (2) to acquire quests, & (3) to go on expeditions. (2 goes into 1 with randomly generated quests for rewards & supplies with 3 being automated. Should also be a chance to upgrade from WW2 era tech to modern day tech when following the implied lore of the Japanese KanColle by allowing you to use modern day technology, such as a tablet to tend to tasks, or a stationary desktop.
    • Card Collection Book - You need to collect the actual cards in RW to actually unlock them. You would need to basically find them dropped in underwater shipwrecks, sunken Abyssals, and by beating respawnable bosses for special ones. Gaining one should force you to lock your cards in a card collection book for 'Fairies' to use in 'construction'.
    • Fairies - These little entities could be carried over from the KanColle universe to tend to resupply, crafting, and construction tasks (if possible). They would be your little minions to keep your 'ship girls' tended to & in sortie condition.
    • Expeditions - Using the above computers should spawn a roster (Pokemon gameboy style) to *poof* the appropriate NPC model until they return from their re-supply expeditions. You need those extra bit of supplies to maintain a well-oiled navy.
    • AI Capture - Wanting to allow the option for an enemy capture moment to gradually term them, or keep as 'hostage' to increase spawn rate of hostilities & to turn the enemy into an friend, after much persistence. [Rimworld & lore inspired.]
    • (And others....(such as healing, constructions, turrets, & etc.)

Oh! The part with the blue & purple in the second posting is what I'm finding the most enjoyable. The ones labelled 20, 23, & 22 or 5, 6, & 7. Yours is awesome. Hoping someone inspires from this to make things more colourful. I'm itching to do so.

I agree with you that it would become boring quickly. The ore generation right now is a test that Red is playing around with to gauge ore popularity & etc. I also want to be able to dig around in pure stone to occasionally find the various sorts of ores with it also becoming boring when nothing there. The spawning rate should normalize with each coming update, or so I'd assume.

Only 2 more votes eh? I'm sure we can squeeze out a few more so I'm 'bumping' this thread with the thought of trains. I'm just itching to know more about them while wanting to 'break them in' when I finally do play them.

    125 Jahre Schmalspurbahnen im Harz

[Everything before 9:45ish; Everything after that with the historical trams is awesome. Would be hilarious/nice if Red added them in as eastereggs.]

I'm going to guess/assume that we just might get this sort of 'little' train for being a short-to-medium range train that pulls passengers & could try and carry cargo. I see images that I can't link of it pulling log carts, liquid storage carts, and some more solid types. I'm having high hopes for this train because you Germans recommended it on YouTube :P. It's a nice well-rounded beauty that I can also approve of it. Hope Red does also, if this is what I'm to expect. Not sure what to expect.

    Hmm...

    1) Not sure how I honestly feel about this. I do want realism, just not sure how it would fit with Rising World. I would accept it when done in vanilla, just that it can easily ruin someone's day. I guess I can see this more of a mod fiddling with Red focusing on other features until game is considered 'done'. I do like the idea, just that .....Too soon?

    2) I love this idea! Similar to Skyrim's incumbrence system, I'd love to see such in Rising World to nudge you into storing stuff at home, using minecarts, cargo trucks, trains, horses with supplies + wagons, among others. Even wearing backpacks and such. It should naturally nudge you in that direction to make use of various transport objects.

Nice challenge! A challenge I'm wanting to do also by going 100% survival. You actually did perfectly well for this sort of challenge, I like! Nice style of windows, stairway, the chests hung up, and such. Any farms going?

I have to say that we're missing carpets & floor decorations. That's something we'll eventually need in this :)

Ozzy, you beat me to it. I wanted to mention an option to build up a shuttle craft (something basic) to venture up into space to build a space station. From there, you can venture to the moon, Mars, and even beyond that. Then there should be chances to even explore alien worlds beyond that and also in alternate dimensions using "Twilight Forest" as inspiration in dugeons. With Rising World I'm sure this could work wonders with its take on survival & realism.

Minecraft Mods to check out: 1) Galacticraft 2) Twilight Forest 3) Mystcraft. I guess I should also mention Anno 2205 with how you can go between worlds.

I'm eventually going to expect a Star Wars mod to be made so should be fun exploring a mod similar to Galacticraft done more in a Star Wars fashion. Exploring the world using the Imperial shuttle seen in the original 3 movies.

I've learned to like it after giving it a night or so. Loving the pride & formality in it while finally seeing a fox head in it. I'm happy you enjoy it. Still wondering what others see in this flag. That formal vibe is what I'm aiming for because I go crazy when things are disorderly. I need the formailites, order, and classy appearing buildings. I guess something like the Germans during WW2 & with the Imperials in Star Wars. Even though they were both evil they at least had order. They rubbed off on me, mostly the Star Wars Imperials thanks to 'Star Wars Galaxies', another influence to my 'Arcticu Empire'.

I'm now proudly going to wave that flag up when I found Arcticu City. Shall be a month or so after I get a new computer + the game, and familiarizing myself with the game, so this should be all nice fun and games. Can't wait to share actual images because this is just getting silly, these posts :P

    Hmm...

    1) I agree, even if I'm partially lost reading this.
    2) I'm sure Red said something he's adding more sheet type materials. Maybe I misread, yet is something we can expect in future updates.
    3) Highly suggested feature that Red now most likely has no choice but to consider it highly. I also want to put my vote into this to classy things up :)
    4) Oh! Would be perfect for Christmas time, as with December 5th festivities. Guess I should say December for those not European. Fairy lights are also awesome that they would add nice festive touches. Now how would they be added onto trees? Preset or can we string them around manually, even using ladders & such?
    5) Turning flowers into dyes hmm...I guess turn what should be turned into dyes would be a more realistic approach. Glad we're also getting clothing as an option.
    6) So basically what we see in Skyrim to be found in this game. *nods*
    7) This should have been enabled from the start: The whole planting of flowers & garden related stuff. We should be able to plant & pot them, even craft them into different sorts of indoor variety. Once we get fuel from deserts we should have fun going the plastic plant route also heh.
    8) Buckets, water bottles, cans, glasses, cups, pots, pans, jerry cans, and all sorts of containers for all sorts of stuff. Imagining myself even transporting orange juice from one village to the next via trucks & trains, or something as simple as a horse using jerry cans.

Loving the potential to Rising World

I'm highly curious about the material marble now with it being known as something you need to dig hours for, even days & weeks. Curious about many things about it. More so after playing with Minecraft's Feed The Beast (technology related modpacks) treating it as an overly common building material, yet still in very high demand on my side. That's making me curious, more so with Rising World going more for the realistic side of things.

    • Location in biomes: I'm going to assume marble shall be found in warmer biomes for us to harvest from.
    • Spawn rate & size in chunks: Not sure how Red wants to code them in. I'm going to assume they're going to be fairly common while being in overly massive chunks that it could take you a week (on & off) to harvest them all. Using one of those power drills in the FTB pack (unrealistic, yet most efficent) it took me a good long while to harvest them up. Was tedious, yet did manage to get them all when going top down on them.
    • Mining style: I'm again assuming that because this is Red, and Rising World, that these marble spawns would need both electric/gas powered tools, even construction vehicles to haul them out properly. I'm sure you could use a pickaxe & a horse to haul them out for personal use, just that it would be proper to use modern-tech to haul such out....This is considering both the tomato + scythe if we're locked into using power tools only. Maybe, maybe not.

Ya, in short: Warm biome; overly massive deposits; Needing power tools & vehicles. Then again, I guess marble could be treated like stone & iron. This has me wondering though because this is indeed Rising World which I may have to still apply Minecraft's Feed The Beast mentality to this. I also want to use it as a major building material for my eventual giant city, this being after I settle into this game in either autumn or winter.

My curiosity seems appropriate with how fuel shall be found in desert (so I was told by a comrade) & with biomes to be released sometimes within this or next month.

Yup, both are fine - https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Aluminium - I say it as the "aluminium" because it's what stuck. Aluminum is also fine. Amusing typos. I always lay the blame on the Americans because of their stubborn Fahrenheit silliness. Same with the miles & etc. When in doubt, go British :P.

I guess the bit we can be picky about would be mixing up - you're & your; there & their; which & witch; Whether & weather. There's quite a bit more, the common ones however being "your" with people getting quite defensive saying you shouldn't correct them & etc.

This one is for Ozzy who wanted to see the "Arcticu Empire" flag.

Had loads of trouble with this one with me possibly needing to have drawn it by hand. Wanting to keep it simple....In Minecraft I simply went Half Canadian & Half Japanese with the banners. Here? Paint & Photoscape. Here's the first "Arcticu Empire" flag for Rising World. I'm now pleased wit hit (after editing this post) falling in love with how bright & proud it is. Even foxy (fox head).

[Flag Created: Thursday, June 18, 2015; For reference when making note in game.]

(Mindset of this post being separate of the above while loosing connecting to the above main posting.)

I love the idea of using computers to in-game email players. No ISP should be needed, just power & the ability to wirelessly send players long-winded messages, this forum style.

    Computer Use:

    • E-Mail: Sending players email in both off-line & online state for them to read at their whim. Could also send poster-sized images to simplify museum oriented builds.
    • Fossil Scanning: Scanninn fossils that you can 'randomly' dig up while identifying, archiving, and then putting the fossils together. This is along the lines of Minecraft's Jurassicraft mod (which I haven't played, only watched) to add some end-game flavour & variety. To also add decoration into homes & use to computers.
    • Media Use: To stream music from your computer in a way similar to Second Life's music streaming, Euro Truck Simulator 2's radio selection, Grand Thet auto 3-5 audio streaming, & Minecraft's jukebox. Should also be able to store images & posters in there.
    • Mini-games: Only if Red desires, we should be able to play games similar to Tetris. This being inspired by Minecraft's Computercraft mod with how you can program stuff. Could also give the players the ability to make gaming arcades & computer cafes by allowing them to code in a similar fashion to computercraft. The higher experienced can share their knowledge to the lesser experienced to add onto the fun.
    • Google Maps: Using a digital GPS tablet to sync up to the computer to view your explored world in that computer. Server stores the map so you can take a peak as to what you explored, updated, to then plot further in the late modern age of the game. [Minecraft had a Google Maps mod that auto-updated every 5 or so minutes, even live, to show where everybody was. It makes for easy travel when you know where you are, especially with the occassional 5 minute updates.]
    • Youtube: You should be able to connect & stream from YouTube to view videos from there. Similar to Second Life with it actually being a dual-function with the TV for viewing.
    • Archive: An archive along the lines of the journal & blueprint, just more on Animal Crossing: New Leaf & Pokemon's Pokedex of the type of materials you collected, mobs you encountered, and etc. You could also view your blueprints here to see them in more detail while also linking it up to Steam's workshop from within the game. I'm imagining this being more along the typical Japanese games with how they have a 'museum' type option to view what you unlocked.

That should be something to look forward to when given the computer option. I'm sure I'm repeating myself, just that it seems appropriate when bringing up this thread again. Something more along the lines of what Red51 believes should be 'practical'.

Wow, that's quite an experiment on the German side to flood the map with water. Nice experiments. I'd be amused to see an actual U-boat floating around in there now. I genuinely now want to see a U-Boat (tiny version) seeing as how you Germans are experimenting seriously, yet in an amusing manner, with blocks that appear with water haha!

That smeltery pond & that stream into a pond both being awesome. Same with that shower

I haven't played any, but I do know what it's roughly about. Checking out #4 is actually quite impressive with nice interesting features.

    - Homepage: http://www.fallout4.com/

The game takes place in Boston after 200 years of 'slumber'. You're basically let loose in a vast open-world apocolyptic world with a chance to meet up with a dog friend.

    -----------

    - General Gameplay:

    - Settlement Building & Crafting:

    ---------

I'm loving how you can play as either the male or female side of the game. How you can customize the characters, the baby, and etc. Loving how you can also befriend a lovely dog (that I hope doesn't die) to do your bidding. Just someone to join you in the vast open world of nuked Boston. The whole building element of it also being overly attractive in this game with how you can gain resources to build up your settlement. You can build up an outpost to then defend from raiders. All that attention to detail. I love these features it has, just no signs of co-op.

I'm now hyping the game for its freedom, its dog companion, the settlement building, and the eventually juicy & heavy modding side of things. Both SFW & NSFW mods. Even possible Anime ones for loads of fun. I guess it won't be 100% free, that's where Rising World comes in to keep having fun.

This is awesome. I haven't felt this genuinely hyped for an American game in so long after seeing how greedy, dramatic, and how easily they burn you in games. I'm actually hyped for this since Skyrim. Goldeneye 64 & Perfect Dark both being awesome games before that. Fallout 4 is something I genuinely want!
