need to do a bit of terraforming and raising a lot of ground with the rake is getting pretty tedious heh

Unfortunately you can't place terrain materials yet
But that's on our to-do list 
Currently the only way to place terrain in the new version is to use the creative mode terrain tools: To do that, open the console (key ~ or `) and type "gm 1", then hit F5 to enable the terrain tools

Unfortunately it's not implemented yet
I'm not sure if it will make it into the update... but if it's not ready in time, it will be part of the next update.But the upcoming update, however, will at least provide a way to collect and replant grass in survival mode

Yes, at least new animal mechanics and hostile animals have already been mentioned, so one can hope that food is also included
