Loosing/ missing items in high grass all the time.

Maybe check out Wurm Online - every item is outlined in white so it can be seen on_mouseover.

I like it that way. It's more realistic

I just turned off the grass in the settings and now everything is perfectly visible.

This is handled differently in every game. If it were the same everywhere, it would be boring.

we have a scythe to cut the grass. not a big deal though i think its part of the game, which is easy enough anyways

each server has its own rules. My players like to play with short grass and you can always turn it on again. In a single player game, it's even easier to turn off only when needed.Of course, it's more convenient for me to use a sickle, but this is time, and it's always not enough

Not sure what you mean. You can turn off grass only to prevent it from peeking through the floor. But it won't make the grass go away completely, neither has it any effect on making the grass any shorter.

Or did i get something wrong?

Avanar You can enable grass occlusion, which makes grass disappear at a certain distance. This can be turned on and off. However, this has nothing to do with occlusion during construction but honestly I don't know what she meant.

I don't think there is a server setting for this.
