Blueprints where are they stored?

A small new update is available now!
  • I know they are suppose to be stored at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RisingWorld\Blueprints"

However, I have a couple people using my machine. When one person tries to use a blueprint that I made and vice versa they are not there.

In fact when I look in the folder. I do not see the ones I made, but I can pull them up when I am in my profile!

  • I don't really understand your problem. Are multiple people using your computer and your version of Rising World? Is the game in a family library?

And are the others using the game but with a different character? Are you using the Steam cloud?

  • Just try copying your own blueprints into the other profiles / players blueprint folder that you have got set up on your computer, I'm guessing that each profile / character have their own blueprints. As I'm the only that that uses my computer, I can't be totally sure.

Maybe log into one of the other profiles and check if the BP folder is empty, then just copy/paste.

Don't know if that's going to be any help, but that is what I would check.

  • The game indeed stores all blueprints in the "Blueprints" folder in the game directory. These blueprints are not bound to the player profile, instead the game simply stores all blueprints there and does not care who created them... when accessing the blueprint table, it simply lists all files that are located in the "Blueprints" folder.

If you want to go to the blueprints folder from the game, you could open the console by pressing ~ or ` and type gamedir blueprints.

What do you mean exactly with "I can pull them up when I am in my profile"?

  • Actually I found out thru the magic Of windows I guess I lost my blueprints. the folders are there but empty. I will have to look at my back up and restore them. Luckily I did not make and new ones since I came back on the game.

Also I lost my single game worlds😡😡. Again no biggie since I just use them to alter the existing BP.

BTW I hate it that Microsoft forces you to update I liked windows 10 just fine....

Just a thought would steam backup try to backup and failed and corrupt the BP? I tried it once it did something real fast then had like 748 kilobyte then disappeared. again just a thought . The only in the local backup are the ones I manually backup.

  • I'm sorry to hear that! :wat: Honestly this sounds a bit like Steam Cloud messing up the data? Another user ran into a similar issue... Steam Cloud is known to mess up things sporadically, but usually this happens when the game crashes, or when multiple instances of the game are running etc. :(

But just to avoid misunderstandings, does that mean that multiple Steam accounts are used, i.e when other people use your computer, do they log into their own Steam account (or do you share a single Steam account)? When multiple Steam accounts are used, maybe Steam has stored the blueprints and worlds for another user? You can open this link in your Steam client to check the files that are stored in the Steam cloud for your account btw: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

If Steam did not store this data for any of the other users, I'd probably recommend to disable Steam Cloud for Rising World :hushed:
