Hello everyone!

  • Liked this game so much that I decided to make a forum account to maybe pitch in some ideas.

Just bought it a few days ago on Steam (on sale), and I was actually debating on whether to get this or Wurm Unlimited. Glad I chose Rising World, because I can run it even on my low-end laptop, and it's looking to be more enjoyable than WU. Still waiting on the survival aspects of the game to come out though.

In the meantime, I'll be building my camp on my tiny island in the middle of what seems to be a lake... :D

  • You found an island in the middle of a lake? That's rare. How lucky you are! :)
Wurm seems like an awesome game and I want to pick it up one of these days. At some point later on down the road we will be seeing more advanced player models, customization of character and clothing, and buff/debuffs. Maybe even skill leveling too. Some of what I saw in WURM I felt should work its way into Rising World but we need a ballance between fun and grinding. WURM seems like a game you really really really have to grind in.

  • Wurm is a grindy game. And there are several items which are locked behind skill and/or equipment checks. So if you're playing solo, it will definitely take some time to be actually proficient at everything.

The island is not so much an island as an outcropping of rock and soil. I just widened it a bit for my shelter, a campfire and a small farm. ^^

  • Glad you like the game! I tried getting into Wurm, but it was definitely more layered than I anticipated. I played with a couple of friends, but even then I found mastering it required far more tedium than the average survival game. It is a good game, but it's not a game for me. I enjoy the peace of mind Rising World lends when I'm working on a project. I know a lot of other players enjoy this as well.

The game could do with some more challenges, but I think the amount of building options and API potential really make up for it, especially in light of the new API update. I've got over 1,000 hours in the game just by building things, as well as administrating on servers, so I don't anticipate on putting the game down anytime soon. Hopefully I'll see you sometime on Rising Infinity.

You live on a lake island?? Me too! 8)
