When I used the generic gotospawn command in the console it takes to the spot but about 1500 feet and I drop to my death. Even if I have flymode.. [i think]
Can you set up a portal that takes someone to a underground temple and back? I mean other players.. like the game portal.. would be fun for puzzles in game.
well this plugin allows you to create portals from one location to another, so yes you can create a portal that takes any player who steps on it to an underground dungeon or temple.
But it has nothing to do with the gotospawn command. If the gotospawn command gets you killed from dropping just stand at the ground and type setspawn in the console that will reset the target of the setspawn command and you will no longer get teleported to midair but instead to that position. If you have fly mode on you cannot drop so there is really no way you can die in fly mode unless you are in lava.
I had already slept in my bed and it took me to mid air dropover it. I was not setspawn which is the command for new player spawn in point.
Oh I see pigs and cows falling in all the time. Sometimes they live other times I go over there and they are dead. Raining Pigs and Cows on my server
hmm I am really sorry but I am still failing to see what your problem has to do with my Portals plugin
In general to answer your questions, did you try sleeping in a different bed or picking up your bed and placing it again?
I think it has been mentioned before but the gotospawn command is a bit buggy sometimes and does what you describe. To avoid dying you can also use goto x y z (where x, y, z the coordinates of somewhere in your base, you can obtain coordinates from the F3 debug text top right corner) or go into creative mode gm 1 where you take no falling damage.
The animals falling through the sky is an issue when old worlds are converted to newer versions of the game and the generation algorithm has changed, thus where there was once a mountain now there are plains and the animals fall from their previous position on the mountain to the new ground level thus usually dying in the process
It is not your mod. It is the general game routine.. sorry for making you worry.
This is way cool. You can put traps in and specialized movement. I know I have seen this at other servers as portal houses but it can be used to creatively. :evil:
I put the jar file into plugins, didnt work. I added a folder named Portals and put the jar file in that. Still not working. Am I missing something?
Could you please post a screenshot of your filesystem for me to see what is going on in there?

Also what do you mean by not working? Did you type for instance "/portal select" in the chat (not the console) and nothing happened?
Also can you check in the Portals directory if an "assets" folder containing a database (named portals_worldName.db) has been created or not?

Ya this is a fun routine. People cant see the portal so you can make entertaining things happen.
I wish there was a sound, music and animation routine like this. That way you could scare the bejesustobetsy out of them if you wanted :evil:
ask noci he has sound on his teleportation plugin.

That is true maybe I should add a small comment about the chat because many people seem to make that mistake with almost every plugin I hadn't so far because for me who knows how the game works is intuitive that all plugin commands go through the chat and the console is only for game commands

Hello! I am loving the portal plugin, however I've noticed that when I try to delete portals I've placed and then decided to change, it is not allowing them to stay deleted. They return upon reloadplugins or a restart of the server. In my example, I placed a destination portal with a return portal. I decided to change the placement of the return portal, so I typed /portal remove_portalnumber and it says it was successfully removed. Then I attempted to create a new return portal, and it says it successfully created. Then I tried to test it out to make sure it was working and it did not allow me to return. So I tried reloadplugins and it repopulated the old portals I had deleted by using /portal remove_portalnumber. I've tried several times and it keeps doing the same thing. I even tried to restart my server, but it's still repopulating the deleted portals. Any help?
First of all did you use /portal remove PortalNumber or /portal remove_PortalNumber? Only the first of the two commands works.
Second what do you mean by a destination portal with a return portal? Each portal has only one destination and they are not two way, i.e. the destination spot cannot be used as a return portal.
Are you sure you are not using the portals script? (https://forum.rising-world.net/thread/4305-script-portals/)
Edit: just tested it and it works as intended.

Here I first removed the second one with /portal remove 2 and then used reloadplugins, the second portal did not show up again

Thanks for getting back to me. I will test again this morning and see if the issue still arises for me since I've been off the server overnight.
I was using the /portal remove PortalNumber
It's definitely the portal plugin and not the script
What I meant by destination portal is that I created a portal to enter into the other biome as a destination portal. Then I created a new portal at the destination to return to the welcome center as a return portal. This is not what I'm having an issue with though--the issue is with removing the portals and then typing RELOADPLUGINS and the removed portals coming back to life.

I think for some reason it straightened out. I don't know if maybe it was a server issue or what. I tested it out this morning and it seems to be okay now. I'll let you know if I notice it again though. Thanks for your help!
