The ability to chat while sitting is an overlooked feature So i'm requesting it since i always find myself missing it ( believe it or not).

yes it may not seem as much at first but there's moments where it does break immersion not being able to sit and talk.

Like in a nice built pub/cafe where you have players chill out when they aren't mining or building just to chat with each other.
it would be more immersive into the game world if we could actually sit down & have a chat instead of having everybody just stand around tables with chairs lol

SO @red51 What do you say is it in for the next update/fix ? or would it delay the other plans too much ? :whistling:

--- now who would argue against this ? -----
    No one right ? :p

please post a dev road-map (past, current, future pre-release, release, and post-release)

The link yagiggle posted is absolutely a valid roadmap. It says a lot what to expect down the line of development so it really does scratch that itch for some kind of an insight. We can't ask for estimated times or in what order things are going to come not even a much bigger company as Keen software shares what is coming up next because thats just the way it goes. When something is done then it's done ( so true @ArcticuKitsu )

Ooh and check this out too Upcoming: Biomes update
it's listed on the features roadmap link that yagiggle posted. " Various biomes " Don't worry, be happy

now let that last bit linger in the background while you play rsing world with this off toptic link

Well its a very good and promising game. People are VERY giddy about it. No one would give a rat's ass if this was otherwise =D

High five on that one !!

    -------------------
I like the heads-up too, really needed for those who run a server to make some time available to get their server up to date as soon as possible.
Since an update on steam = automatic and when players log off and back in they get locked out when the server isn't updated.

So yea i'd rather be "disappointed" knowing that we're avoiding major bugs than to have an outdated server up all day & all night with a bunch of offline messages on steam of players asking whats going on lol

    @icon58 From ->

you're now using so 4gig video = need more ram for java

Then following the logical "double up"
    1GB = 8GB

    2GB x 8 = 16GB
    4GB x 8 = 32GB

Like remember back in the days when 512 MB graphics cards where top of the line ? :P that's back when we were finally getting to 64Bit passing the 4GB RAM threshold.

    and POOF 512Mb (half of 1GB) x 8 = 4GB
it comes out just perfectly. LOL J/K it's just Moore's law... Games dont actually need 32GB of RAM right now it's just an offtopic theory.

15 mins of play before the game starts to slow down gets pixelated.. Then I have to restart the game.

I think you mean you get a serious drop in frame rate.

It also seems like Yagiggle is on to something interesting

i think when you have more video ram and better card you now also need more system memory for the higher settings your now using so 4gig video = need more ram for java----- i would think you had 16 - 32gig anyway

A 1GB video card is fine with 8GB RAM
    2GB video card -> 16GB RAM
    4GB video card -> 32GB RAM

Like the system kind of needs RAM space to keep up with whats the video card is pushing out of its storage ? just a little theory i'm pulling out of this. I dont have actual educated knowledge of this yet.

Anyway Icon we all have to relog after a while of playing. especially when traveling long distances or teleporting multiple times. whether it's a 980 GTX or a 660 GTX perhaps the game needs to have some code to dump memory as fast as it's allocating new memory so we dont have to end the game to flush it manually.

I found a video that i watched several years ago when i first applied for a job in a warehouse.

The point of the video is to teach people about the dangers of working in a warehouse, basically showing how small mistakes could lead to big consequences.
However this video stayed in my mind after all these years because it was FUNNY as hell !

I recommend watching this from the beginning to the end without skipping any part because the funniest aspect of it all is in the build-up of how the chaotic mayhem all started. Starting from minor incidents to the epic ending.

Don't be discouraged by the seemingly boring educative style of the narrator, just follow Klaus his first day on the job as Forklift driver.

WARNING: not suitable for sensitive viewers, video contains fake blood, fake injuries, fake mutilations, fake dismemberment (consider yourself warned!)

    video in the spoiler:

    also "Furniture of Differing styles"

You can already create your own custom furniture with planks and beams,
an aquarium for example is easily made with glass panels en maybe if you
like some beams. then throw in a potted plant and some tiny posters of
    fish and you're done.

    it only needs water lol

The more (well sporadic) updates released, the more this game starts to look like a farming simulator.

So we're at phase 1: fauna & flora. seems perfectly logic
to work on the landscape first if we wanna have an epic open world to
build and survive on, why not start there right ?

    [epic symphony music starts]

The earth under our virtual feet gotta come alive first [music gets
louder] and feed our virtual bellies with good stuff first like a true
    world that's on the rise.
[epic symphony music end with a dramatic bang]

Yes sure! But well, answering the question which comes first, the chicken or the egg, may take 90% of the development time

Ooooooh sooo unbelievable!!!! you did the sneaky sneak on me hahahaha
You sir just made me extra happy! thank you very much for another epic update and more specifically CHICKENS !

More important is to have joy and to be aware that this is a game in alpha version.

Hi five !! I totally agree to the importance of having fun regardless of the amount of players online.
It's only Alpha but there's already so much the game has to offer in terms of allowing everyone to create awesome stuff. And each screenshot being a massive stab into the guts of hardcore minecrafters lol

Servers aren't empty as if nobody plays, you just have sort on "playercount"
then the populated servers are on top of the list.

There's always some folks playing somewhere you just need to use the lobby right.
and favorite the ones with the most players on

(so milk will play an important role) ;)

When there's milk in the kitchen then I assume there's eggs in the fridge too right? right? haha but there's no eggs without a chicken first right? right? or will it be the egg first ? LOL I'm just playing around.

This is most likely future talk however, Red if you happen to have a blog logging what you're currently working on and what challenge you're currently facing in the development of the game it would clear up a lot of assumptions from people that don't understand how much effort it takes to add in something as huge as fluids (water, milk, wine, ... ) into the game.

It could be something as simple as Googles BLOGGER website
blogs could be as simple as 2 lines per blog:

    Quote

Bug fixing furnace, might add coal insertion feature. I'm facing a big challenge to add animation in the door to the coal bay

    or something like that :p
    --------------
anyway back on topic: Has anyone found strawberries yet ? (without spawning them yourself ) ?

We are not going to get biomes anytime soon until the developer concentrates on biomes and biomes only. Creating more crops, additional blocks and other non biome things took away time from finishing up what needs to be done first. That is the biomes. The world needs to be finished FIRST Every thing that happens, takes place in this world.

^^^^^ a slight sign of paranoia lol J/K

If the farming update came before biomes update or after biomes update it doesn't matter
relaaaax :P the farming update is here, chill out lol it's part of the game it's not like RED went off and made a separate mini game that isn't related to rising world or anything.

Any amount of time put into any additional feature in the game = still valid as valuable progress.

biomes is still in the oven but it will be here, have some patience jeeeshhh :P patience is key to happiness.

.....What needs to be done now....

is entirely up to Reds schedule.... right? While we sit back and enjoy the hard work that some of us forced* him to release a bit too soon. Least we could do in return is report bugs so he can have a vision into bug killing priorities

*forced: not really "forced", just the whining was getting a bit much to be honest
    :p

You have to lower your Chunks settings in order to adjust to the new visuals in the game.

There's a lot more vegetation that gets loaded onto the screen which of course requires a lot more CPU work per chunk. so lowering this settings will lower the amount of work your CPU has to do.

When lowering your chunks settings, you may need to restart the game in order to apply the new settings ( just do it to be safe )

Hope that works out for you. if it didn't then drop down your PC specs it might help for troubleshooting this issue

A quote that i think fits as a response to this thread.
I hope it's an answer you'd find useful.

for now server owners have the option to turn off the copy part of the blue prints, red will later on make it so so admins on servers can have more control over who can use them and have it that you can indeed only copy buildings in your own protected area or in unprotected areas.

..... So, I want to remind Red and the family that we are one month older...

As if the Red and his team didn't already know that...

    here's a reminder:
You bought a work-in-progress product. not a share of the companies stock. :whistling:

..... the update will come when it is ready....

    ^^^^ exactly  Cheers !
