A small new update is available now!

As far as I know, plants continue to grow even when you're offline. Therefore, it's unnecessary to leave the game running just so the plants can grow.

    red51 Is that correct?

Of course, this might be handled differently on some servers.

yes. in servers. I want the same in singleplayer.

You can take a break any time though :P

Yes, but time won't move on. It's not the same. It doesn't keep me moving.

Yes! Exactly! I want to tab-out, do other things, and time keeps running and when I come back, things have happened, it's daylight out and I keep playing. It works great with my brain, and it helps me work in spite of fatigue. I wish that mechanic worked in singleplayer. You have the option to not pause the game in-menu, and I was hoping that'd mean it'd keep working in the background. But alas, no.

I might have to do the server thing. It's really not ideal, but what can I do? If I do this in servers, then people complain because I don't want to skip the night, or I have to skip the night for them, but that breaks my workflow.

It has often been very useful for me to play Rising World, and then, when night falls, wait it out while doing tasks I need to do, only to return to play when day breaks. In servers, this is possible. Time continues to run even if you tabbed out to something else for a while. But in singleplayer, even when you have the option to not pause the game when in a menu, if you tab out, the game stops running. I would like an option for singleplayer to run like a server so that time keeps moving even when you're just chilling at your virtual home while you tab out to do something else. I think it'd be a good option, as that means that plants and crops will be growing and weather changing. Thanks!

There's a lot of really cool plants decorating the landscape that would look great in some kind of garden. could we maybe pick up these bushes and flowers and other such plants? (maybe with the same tool we use for seedlings?) I'd love to be able to take them from one place to another. As it is, if I terraform, then I lose them forever without blueprint workarounds or creative mode (which isn't available in many servers, for example) Would just be awesome if we could simply pick them up and take them with us to new gardens. It'd also be really good to have some kind of way to grow/expand grass. Maybe watering can? We can take it with the scythe and such, but it seems to me there can be better ways and also ways to expand it and grass up areas that didn't have that much grass to begin with. I'd love to be able to garden in survival!

The update's been quite fun and I love the new weathers!

I'd like to report a tiny bug, though. I made an enclosure for some chickens. It's made of blocks. The little chicks keep somehow falling under the blocks and getting stuck. I can retrieve them if I use fly mode and clip through the floor, but still.

Anyways, keep up the good work! It's great!

Edit: I also noticed that the chickens' shadows are uh... stuck. somehow. I have a standing torch in the enclosure and... yeah, there's chicken shadows with no chicken attached.

the c button, i think, displays the things you can do in a very clear way, but i only found it by accident. perhaps directing the user to press it for options along with f1 for help would be good. and in those, you can put the keys in parentheses. feels intuitive to me that way.

This happens when collisions are disabled, as mentioned by Desmagu ... this can be changed in the building menu (hold C).

We have been thinking about removing this feature (or at least remove it from the building menu), as this is causing more harm than good lately :D

i totally use the collisions enabled/disabled thing! please don't remove, if possible

Oh, yeah, that definitely stops the black screen! Thanks! I might be able to rewrite the terrain into something not malformed, then? Also, I sent the world via email on a zip file just now.

So I was playing around with the area select/fill tool in creative mode. Then after a few mistakes creating large blocks of thee wrong thing, I used the raise/lower tool to lower the terrain. And then after that, every time I look at the area I edited, the whole screen goes black. Not even the terrain around it will render. The world is completely unusable now because turning to look at that area will make everything go black.

I don't know if this is something the log catches, but.... here it is.
