Thanks for your help yahwho. I reset our RAM today to match the server's and it looks like that fixed it.

gtxgaming just put a limit on the amount of RAM for RW servers when it used to be unlimited
Hmm yeah providers seem to like doing that. At work we've been setting people up on a providers "lifetime free remote access solution" only to find out the other week the provider is now discontinuing the service and if you want to keep using it - it's going to cost!
All server side plugins can be put on a hosted server.
There are a few public world protection plugins including:
[Plugin]WorldProtection (Auto area protection script)
Plugins for download are in the Plugins forum - you're currently in the plugin discussion forum (for new plugin requests and API discussion).
Upload the plugins to separate folders within the plugin folder found inside the root game folder (RisingWorldDedicatedServer) I believe in the plugins forum there is a sticky topic from Red51 explaining how to use plugins.
Happily explain further if needs be ![]()
Would be cool, if we could mark all posts as read ... But maybe it's just me ...EDIT: yes never mind, i found the button ...
For others looking, click on Forum > Unread Posts and at the top right hand corner under the RW banner there is a white tick to mark all forums as read.
How much memory does your server have? The error says "There is insufficient memory for the Java Runtime Environment to continue."
Hi Groovaholic I believe the plugins will mainly be compatible, but certainly not 100%.
From my understanding the Unity engine handles pivots different to JMonkey (which is how the UI knows how to display rectangles, lines, images, etc.). So any current plugin that uses any UI elements will certainly have a problem.
I suspect the majority of console based plugins will still work okay though.
As for LUA scipts. . . does anyone use them anymore?
Server should now be back online.
We'll post an announcement when a playable demo is ready
It will probably take a few weeks
Red, will this include a server demo?
Downtime ![]()
Medieval Realms will be unavailable from Wednesday 29th January until Friday 7th February.
Glad to see the smilies are still here! ![]()
Expect some downtime in the near future ( possibly even for a whole week or more
).
Medieval Realms' server is hosted from my office and I'm moving premise at the start of February.
what I could do to improve performance in the current version
If your computer has a HDD upgrading to an SSD would help.
the power of ray tracing
massive improvements!
Happy New Year all!
Just a reminder to all you medieval lovers out there - we're still alive and kicking!
Custom plugin development of Medieval Realms is still in progress. Lots planned for unity. ![]()
Area protection and economy system still working as expected after 3 years and 4 months of in-game build time. (Check out the homepage for up to date statistics). No 3rd party plugins (except pnb!) All custom written and closely supported by me (Yahwho).
Currently preparing for a very in depth statistics platform for the Unity update, unfortunately details won't be released until unity is released.
Much love,
Yahwho
@red51 many thanks dude ![]()
Hi @red51
Hope you're well. I appreciate the amount of work that goes into writing a game, so I understand if you've not had time to spare this a seconds thought yet. But, have you any idea yet if the GuiElement parts of the API will be transferable? With the understanding that the pivots work differently on the canvas.
My RW plugin development is stuck in neutral at the moment. Just wondering if it's time to shift into first gear or time to eat mince pies and slurp mulled wine? Either I'm happy with. ![]()
Hmm with only two posts under your belt this does look to me like an attempt to back-link to a website for SEO reasons. ![]()
If that is the case you may want to know the hyperlinks here (as with most forums these days) are " rel = no follow ". ![]()
If that is not the case, I apologise ![]()
And if so, I would thoroughly recommend Eset (Google it). It has a tiny memory footprint and I've use it across 1000's of workstations and servers for over 10 years. ![]()
I love smilies ![]()
P.s.
If you have an up-to-date Operating System (Like Windows 10 1909) you should only really need the Antivirus, and not Internet Security. Windows comes with a pretty good build-in Firewall.
For added security you may wish to consider changing your primary DNS setting to 9.9.9.9 (https://www.quad9.net/)
If you're trying to edit the game files you'll find they are obfuscate, no decompiler will be able to make anything intelligible from them.
Besides, it's unlikely you will achieve your goal that way.
I suspect something like a database edit is what you're looking for?
They are of different hardness.
Try breaking a wood block with a pickaxe, and then try again with concrete or steel. It takes a lot longer to break.
Maybe its a bug with the mining drill, but defiantly works with more primitive tools.
