You probably need to install 64-bit java, it is a common issue, so look for the sticky java problem forum entry.

More resources are planned including sand, gravel, granite, multiple types of ore, etc., but currently glass is spawn directly in the saw table.
I believe that it is 3rd or 4th on the major items list of things to be added next.in the mean time:
item treelog 32 --- gives you a stack of logs
item ore 64 3 --- gives you a stack of stone
item ore 64 1 --- gives you a stack of dirtFYI, Dirt is a little easier to manipulate with the rake than stone is with the sledge hammer after you place it.

Check your process list for extra copies of the server running.
The most common source I have seen on the forums for not saving is that you have more than one instance of the server running.
Like through a partial crash or something, and there is an older instance that still has locks on the save files, and therefore the newer instances has the users connections but cannot write to the files. If you cannot find it try rebooting and see if that fixes the issue.

For both the compass and watch you need to hold the button.

Yes, sitting like flying seems to prevent you from interacting with other objects.
Sitting should be encouraged (reduced food/water depletion). -
The devs have stated that it will be disabled by default in the non-survival modes single player games, and that they are going to put a "Allow Cheating" option for when you create a new world. Sort of a turning off default admin rights in single player, along with many dev tools like flight and dev light.
FYI try: item nvg 1, and check your keyboard controls.

One thing about your more organized layout, is that the direction should not be fixed. North should not always lead to a arctic biome. (Maybe you are the southern hemisphere).

Some people are going to want a hardcore mode, as long it is optional then I am ok with it.
FYI, on the whole torch thing. Remember that garden torches (6 sticks) can be placed on any roughly horizontal surface without a mount, and can also be picked back up.
These should be your first choice early game. -
I only saw it on Deadlands, so unless it is a bug/feature of the protection script. I suspect a person.
Unfortunately, with the good comes the bad.You should check the Deadland Server thread, as if I remember correctly the commands for the protection script are in there and he may have been able to allow them without requiring admin access.

I hope they do implement something like this, as I liked the effect it had on other games.
With the depth of the earth being so much larger, it would be nice if you could find sizable pockets of these.
In addition, if they could a tiers to the underground that vary by biome. They could be denser stone, and different features.
One of the tiers between the bottom and surface could be an aquifer so you have to deal with the real challenge of tunnel flooding if you do not pump or seal your tunnels in that tier.
Another one could have caverns with crystals and stalagmites/stalactites. -
I logged into that server as it is one of the originals to see what had been built, and saw this.
I think it is griefing as the missing blocks are get less the further from spawn you get.
If griefer can setgametype 1 and can use F2 fly mode, then the destruction can be quick.Sometimes your client doesn't know you have been disconnected for up to 30 seconds.
I found if you get any error, even if it looks like you are still connected, you should reconnect immediately.Has anyone told @Absalom about it?
He has a protection script running, that he has been developing, was your building protected by it? -
yes, hold shift and use the arrow keys to resize them. I think they get to 4x4 blocks in size.
While holding a window frame hit F1 for all the keys related to placement.

I totally think you should be hurt by falling or rolling trees.
The control you are talking about should be imprecise. -
You can place dirt and stone in the world. you may need to use the rake or sledge hammer to smooth it out, but you can place.
Each placement takes a separate right click there is no continual place like you are suggesting. The only that cannot be undone currently is regrow grass. That and many other features are coming in the future.

Yeah, I have run into this one also. pretty easy to replicate with angled blocks.
I think a limiter need to be added to not allow un-crouch until clearance is available. So did you intentionally want to make people crouch?
You need 4 blocks of clearance to walk under.
Some times, I feel like the point of view is lower than where the character's Eyes are or it has a pointy head. -
Devs have stated that in addition to adding customizable player models, that most of the animations will be be getting overhauled also.

No that seems to still work for me just fine.
You have to be admin to use it, and if you are playing single player(techinically local server).
If you are not able to connect to the hive server, the game makes your username the computer's local user that you are logged into your computer with.
This username may not be recognized as admin on any server including local.
(A thoery as to what is going one, or just another bug)Babas had a similar issue, and he had to start the game from the folder to work around the issue.

And bushes can then be made into a a nice shrubbery with and without thorns...

Ok, but correct me if I am wrong, but that is a waypoint which works differently. Players upon death or first join, will (re)appear at the spawn point.
Mark lets you specify a single point, that you can jump back to on a per player basis. Just like log off and on, you reappear where you were.
But:- Players do not appear their on death. They appear at spawn not where their "Mark" is.
- Mark and Goto commands require admin rights.
Also Mark is not persistent like spawn, you have to set it each time you play. (when you restart your game)

Well there was a suggestion that the devs are considering to make glass opaque or more translucent while placing.
