(This seems like an appropriate thread for what's about to be done. Didn't want to spam-create a new thread when we already had an appropriate thread.)

The mention of diseases and hypothermia now scares me. Not in the "5 Nights at Freddy's" manner, just that I'm now thinking Skyrim here. I guess it'll all be environmental type diseases, just that the thought of your characters (and possibly NPC types) contracting them now has me fearing how detailed things shall be. It was a nice kick in the rear with how it just set the tone for the game in that "Stranded Deep" type detailed of a brutal survival. Imagine yourself teching up, unable to treat your illness, or being unable to tend to your hypothermia, thirst, or vitamin C issues (if it goes as far as the vitamin C bit European explorers faced when first colonizing North America) and etc. It sure does set the tone of things. Both this (diseases & hypothermia) with that first hostile monster setting the game's tone. Anything else now being a nice colour of painting adding onto the whole.

Good example being stuck in the ocean, swimming, and in winter biomes shall freeze your character. Or when you don't cook fish you risk a slow death through worms attacking your character's brain (5 hp loss per minute, or so) cured through medicines or something. Maybe that's more detailed than the trio are planning, just that it now has me 'brainstorming' of the possibilities.

Once again, I'm thinking Skyrim, and now Rimworld once again, with how you're catching these diseases. Also that Frostfall Mod for Skyrim, or whatever it was called. I wonder if Rimworld is more appropriate here though.

Holy hell.......I need to praise Red and the two others for having insane amounts of patience and sanity. Would have given up already if I was programming, if I even could, with the amount of crap you have to deal with from people being lower in the social ladder. Having to deal with my constant pushing for Rimworld type AI partners (from me), having to deal with trolls and drama-queens on Steam (reviewers + this topic's topic), and now seeing other people getting all offensive saying Red is doing things wrong instead of the laptop the person is using. Wow........People should praise Red & his two buddies more for the amount of patience and crap they have to go through.

It's the same, or similar, amount of crap I'm noticing people blaming the bus drivers in Ottawa, Canada (OC Transpo) when it comes to 'poor service' when it is instead the city's fault for all the spitting and hostilities. Bus drivers are there to earn pay, yet the city wants a red carpet treatment, as does the people on Steam.

Maybe posting the link is inappropriate, we'll see. Still trying to find that fine-line also.

So farming, blocks, networking, and hostile mob prepping. Nice news. Obviously curious to find out more block types as I wanted to suggest more plank types. Shall now allow myself to be surprised heh. Even curious to see how farming shall play out, even with the prep-work for hostiles. Excellent

That part bothered me when seeing how light and sound was uneffected in people's videos. I'm going to ignore this hoping it'll be polished in how sound shall 'soften' when you're inside structures, same with light.
    (Also what I said above.)

(Not sure how to re-reply to Trillnar, yet shall say that I fully agree with what he said. Wish I wasn't an idiot with my choices of words. I'll simply say that "Freedom of choice in how you play is the way to go. People have creative & I have SP, maybe jumping into SMP when settled in.")

With what Red has (loosely) planned for the NPC Traders has me wondering if we'll be able to set way-points, and such. He did say they could wander around and such. Having the option to make them wander around should be interesting, if we can keep those chunks active somehow. If not, then it be neat to see where they left off to keep things being active. I could see someone spend months setting up pathways for their 'citizens' to walk down streets to go from home <-> work, or to fake grabbing resources. That I can get behind, and that I shall find myself playing around with after I would consider my session to be "over". The 'survival' aspect of it anyways. I would add in NPCs, even trying to theme them up to what I have built.

What would be the icing on the cake would be if we could, in this order:
    - Customize them (Equipment, gender, and accessories).
    - Befriend them (To be able to have them as comrades).
    - Survival (For them to grab food & water. Them being able to harvest food & Water from wild & storage).
    - Interact with player (To ask for food & water; Not just your comrade, but with all AI.)
(Basically trying to keep things basic as possible using "Rimworld" & "Timber & Stone" AI as a template. Food & Hunger? Fine. Combat is needed, while building and crafting isn't.)

I'll happily toy around with NPC Traders, if I can get the game+new comp by the time they're added. I wouldn't care if they didn't craft, nor build. I'll happily populating areas in SP (Or MP only) with these NPC Traders to settle in and learn the game's more finer details. Basically allowing them to add onto the 'presence' of the place. I know I shouldn't expect much, thus me focusing on the Traders in thought only. Though, if we can 'Create' or 'befriend' one into a comrade that shall make me even happier, thus the things above in the mini-list. I'm of course going to expect that near when game is completed because Red is a busy guy telling me firmly that to expect the overly basic on them. That's fine.

I do however hope some form of 'pet' or 'comrade' NPC is added because singleplayer can get quite lonely and eerie. Not sure I'll be able to find a server fitting for my needs so I'm constantly pushing so maybe even a mod shall allow SP to befriend, customize, and have them interact with you as "LittleMaids" (Never did play LittleMaids due to complicated installations) did in Minecraft, or Rimworld, or my Timber & Stone comparisons. I get easily creeped out with the silence of the world that I need a comrade in player or NPC form. It's why I'm pushing, same with wanting to take advantage of the vastness with my own 'designed' characters.

I guess no unique thoughts on this eh? The only thing new being how I'd spend my nights trying to get NPC Traders pathfind around the settlements. Having tellers, traders, and statue 'tourist' guide people. I wonder if we can get them to path-find, timed, and such. Having a timed tour-guide to guide you as they allow the text bubbles above their heads to hang for a set time.

(Edit: And I just NOW noticed I hijacked this thread from the OP. Ah well. I guess it's a mod idea to have the NPCs build and craft for you. I only expect my NPCs to try and survive while joining me in combat; NPC Traders to spice up the area.)

Nice! Moon! Hope the moon changes shapes and colours, even to red, orange, pink, and blue. Seeing what you did for food that would also be appropriate :P

Bonus: Be interesting if we could get telescopes to look at some '3D' detailed stars in the sky map. Seeing nicely detailed planets coming in and out of view, but I guess that's also low-priority until the game is considered completed. I'd however suggest it.

I think I"ll pull a "Geneon" and say nope. Not necessary right now because we have to see what hostile mobs this game plans to add. I want to see Red's intended mobs added before pushing for "Mind scares". Nice idea though which should be brought back up after a handful of hostiles are added :).

Using rips as an early game tool would be handy, more so when you note the North America "First Nations" made use of them to carve smoking peace pipes. Using bones as tools to carve, craft, and create things. Look at this wiki right here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bone_tool - For using bones as various tools and instruments. I'd welcome them and hope they are considered for the early ages, even when you're higher up yet struggling with equipment.

I agree that the unlimited map shall be 'wasted' on the average user. It's nice having it though because you wouldn't feel trapped when building. Not going to argue against it either because that be removing features we take for granted now. Who knows, maybe with Rising World people shall actually make far more use than with Minecraft, Terraria, and Starbound. Actually making more complex builds that'll need spreading out, if you can encourage them to do so, which shall make more use of the 'unlimited' map. Encouraging vehicles, trains, and biome-specific materials that you can only farm there.

I'll go with unlimited because it doesn't really give me a 'fuzzy feeling', more that I actually feel free to go where ever I want. I can spread out, stay out of people's way and claim land that I want to claim while others do the same. I hated Skyrim, and other RPGs, for how they trapped me in a box. Same with other indie games for survival. I'd however love both NPCs and Players claiming their own part of the land while I claim mine, colonize others, and have fun. The only ones that could possibly realize the world is "spherical" being the more hard-core types. Tell a Youtuber the world is round and I bet they'll do those donation let's plays trying to build a railway one way then ride it back to do two trips around the game's world.

Not confirmed 100%, just that it's "on the list".
    Suggestion,

I'm not going to be picky if it's in or not, just that Red said he added it onto the list so I'll just wait and see what he does in the end.

Welcome! Basically what ZaCormyr said that everything but paint was mentioned, or so I noted, is loosely confirmed in one manner or another, even conversed about. Everything but pain. I haven't see anything about paint. Paint itself would be interesting if we can find a way to make dyes.

Bows, basic firearms, fishing, animals, birds, horses & camels, more food with detailed recipes, farming and crafting.......All that has been hinted at, teased, and lightly confirmed to be in the game. Some more than others. It all depends on how time fairs for them and us. Hostile monsters still strongly tossed up in the air.

Starting a log on stone, then onto bark, logs/Bamboo, cotton, paper, then digital would be interesting. A little 'easteregg', of sorts. Keeping one of these in or around your personal area would be neat. Placing each and every one on a shelf in your late-game home would be quite nostalgic. But ya, as you said, I wouldn't expect this until when the game is considered 'complete', or as a mod itself. I'd happily welcome it, if its a simple item, a book, or a menu thing.

Seeing as how we're going to get something along the lines of a 'skeleton' or vehicles, I would assume the same could happen for weapons. Already seeing hilts and parts needed to put them together so I guess it wouldn't hurt to mix-and-match weaponry and accessories. Being able to add little emblems (using that poster feature), colours, hilt types, and such. That would be something I'd welcome. I won't expect it to go all crazy in the way Cube World (that blocky single & multi) with how you can make overly unrealistic designs and such. Only mixing the blade, the hilt, handles, and armour types.

Seeing as how it's basing itself on realism I'd stick to the designs and patterns from caveman era to about the 90's or 00's of our time, minus the nuclear and OP stuff. I'd however expect feathered helmets, Roman Helmets, something close to the 'First Nations' of North America, and similar. Doesn't all have to be there, just enough.

Bonus: If we can have customizable statue (which I already suggested and was positively received by Red) with at least the planned vanilla armour and weapons then I'm fine. Being able to craft statues with what you're currently wearing and keeping it, a snapshot in time for display, would be much welcomed.

Oh wow.......It would be perfect for a mod in what Minecraft did with those overly trippy scenery. Even Grand Theft Auto 5. Would be neat to add in a Halloween update or as a mod. Being chased by giant Infected Mushrooms, seeing all those ghosts, and such. Yup. Perfect as a mod.

Sure, why not. If it isn't too much too ask I'd love to ask Red to do so also, but only when they're (the clothing and equipment) fully added and implemented. Would be neat for some, while others would want to have clear line-of-sight that mods may appear. Being able to toggle between the two should be possible. As for clanking, I guess that could be a given seeing how much love and care they're adding into this game.

I guess that's where dungeons & temples comes in with loot. I guess when books are implemented we can get a tiny bit 'Skyrimmy' with how we insert pages and such. That is if Red wants to give some basic lore for us to make note of. A nice 'collection' and 'archive' going on to log each player's experience in their own world so they'll make some fancy archive room, building, or some 'government' thing if people go all civilization/Empires type deal.

I would go against monsters and entities dropping things, more with finding those pages to insert into books. Not sure how you would do so without a gadget, or how you would even make note of it in a book. I guess I can brainstorm that to add creature entities into player-made books and computer logs/tablet is to have one research table focusing on said creature. Log it by having a book in your inventory, in your active hotbar, or something along those lines to then take it back by using a table to 'scribble' notes that you can read, then store in the first bit in the first paragraph above in people's archive room.

And I agree with the plants and trees, if you want to go all "Japanese card collecting" or Animal Crossing: New Leaf type, just a bit more 'dedicated'.

If the maps are kept to their current scale then I can see that happening. If it's done to 1:1 of our Earth, or unlimited then you simply have to double-back, or expand further for more resources. Not all that worried about such right now, even without a copy :P

If it's necessary then I'd suggest adding in vanilla NPC traders to assist you with trading items for others in a somewhat equal value going a bit J-RPG hard in bartering, even with over-simplified menus or whatever.

Same size as earth? :S I never said that lol Same kind of biome layout yes. Scale, no. That would be madness! :P

Bad wording on my part then. I wanted to say 1:1 by accidentally implying that you said it. My bad. I also wanted to 'imply' that the list being world types that we could choose from. I was worried yet you posted so I couldn't do a confusing edit :P.

A 1:1 Earth would be interesting though, if Red does consider and implement it. The problem being keeping the rarer resources going unlimited. I guess it should be fine due to the scale of our earth.

If you're curious about the camel, and where I got it, is the same thread Rook (or someone other) found a thread with horses being confirmed. Scroll down further and you'll see camels being teased and played with as a thought.

I also wouldn't mind feeding and keeping 'them' fed and their thirst meter quenched. I would make sure I live next to a proper water source and such while supplying for a long journey, if it ever gets that detailed for the NPCs and our mounts also. Those should be interesting travels for sure, with or without survival or the creatures also. Seeing as how this is more 'mature' and 'detailed' then this shall be quite a game to play from beginning to the 'end'.

I only listed the 'possibilities' so I don't mind the variety, if it does get all crazy in variety. If we're playing with "Ages" then I'm only trying to imagine what may or may not be on the other side. I wouldn't mind Go Karts & Buggies. I'd assume people would go all 'Red Neck' with jeeps, trucks, and all for multi-purposes and efficiency.
