A new update is now available, introducing seasons and more!
Latest hotfix: 0.8.0.2 (2024-12-30)

Alright, so that's how we using this thread? Guess I'll put in my wishlist. Guess my above posting looks weird then....Ah well...

    - NPC Comrades - Think Rimworld AI (as basic as possible) with needs for food & water then we'll be on the same page. Customization and being able to befriend them also. This is my one and only wishful desire taking it very seriously. Crafting and mining can be left out with them more focused on combat, or at least focused on keeping food & water supplies stocked up at the most, or least.
    - Character Customization (Expanded) - If we are to get player models to be customizable I'm wishing they would allow for both hat and ear slots. Even 'tail' slots for not just my desired 'fox girls' in a Japanese side, but for other people's swords and guns being placed on the back. Having slots for fox ears, white long hair, fox tail, and eye customization is what I'm seeing with others most likely going to do other stuff in a more "Western" or "European" manner.
    - Ghost hostiles - In general while being 'rare', found in possible graveyards of NPC villages, and underground in places. They can be overly-serious phantoms to simple NPC villagers.
    - Snow Ghosts - Basically snow-man styled entities with bright colourful glowing eyes. Friendly during the day, hostile during blizzards while staying in snow biomes. Can keep them at bay with torches and anything producing heat.
    - Computers - Even though on the list, I'd love to be able to check the world's player-explored maps on it, for Youtube, and music. If given that kind of use they should be worthwhile of an addition.
    - Music Device - I don't really care how, but giving us the ability to listen to music music in both singleplayer and multiplayer worlds would be neat. More of a 'casual' role, if anything. Even giving them distance of quieter the farther out. Maybe even cache some tracks into 'CDs' for servers while allowing it to read from your actual computer. Poster style, I'd assume. I'm blaming Euro Truck Simulator 2 for this "wish".
    - Tea Drinks - It's been shown interest in with me interested enough to make a tea-shop to 'sell' tea. Green tea would be neat. I always see coffee with me being more of a tea & hot chocolate person.
    - Various types of trains - I guess this is obvious, but I'd love to go from horse-trains to steam, coal, and similar. All the way possibly up to bullet-trains, if that is how far this game is going to go. Most likely planned to have variety so I'll just sit back and watch while keeping an eye out for steam/coal trains that puff up smoke.
    - Trams (Bonus) - Not really needed, just a fun little European desire of adding in any sort of tram from Europe. Canadian trams are 'meh', maybe less so for the Ottawa's 'LRT' project. I'm thinking of those Bratislava trams, same with Vienna types. Russian old ones and new ones. (example of old & 2003 version, while also seeing even newer ones back in 2008). I'm going to assume this shall be more of a mod thing, thus bonus.
    - Sushi - Seeing as how we can fish I do hope we can make all sorts of sushi.
    - Seasonal Items & Furniture- Would be sweet to stay seasonal by adding in furniture and goodies on a seasonal notes. That pumpkin is a start. Adding in Christmas trees and anything European influenced would be awesome. Europeans know how to celebrate Christmas better, or so I found  . Could be left for a mod, but seeing as how Germans are making this I would love a German perspective for Christmas heh. Doesn't have to be just for X-mas, can be for other stuff. Anything the Trio finds appropriate and fun.
    - Elevators - I tend to build skyscrapers so having elevators would be appropriate. Having something that ages up, or is useful as an elevator, even for mineshafts, would be welcomed.

    - KanColle Mod - I'd love to see the Japanese spread their love for KanColle into this game once ocean biomes are added. I want to make use of the throne chair by giving a humanoid 'Bismarck' and 'Yuudachi' their well earned throne chair for them to sit in while also seeing them doing combat in those water biomes. This also ties in with the NPC Comrades above. (Ship in human female form doing battle against sunken ship girl 'mutants'.)

    ------
What I'm wishing for the most is the NPC Comrades, Character customization, and the KanColle modding. That's all I'm seeking from this game the most with the rest being "For fun" that would have me going 'all-out' on the game. Apologies if I keep bringing too much anime into this game also.....It has what I desire with this game also being open enough to bring that into this game also. It greatly tops Minecraft that I much rather have fun in this game over Minecraft's frustrations.

Creative mode works, yes. It's been so abused in Minecraft & Skyrim that I'm just sick of seeing anything regarding creative mode. It breaks immersion, it breaks the fun, and it just kills everything. I'm more of a builder in survival mode because it challenges you to get far more creative than it does in creative mode while having to make note of the scenery. That is also part of the reason why I'm 'dying' for one of those "AI comrades" borrowing Rimworld's AI programming of needs and combat.

It's because of creative mode that Minecraft also died (with Mojang's help on leaving the game broken on 1.8's second coming) for me on SMP that I have hostile thoughts to anything that 'cuts corners'. Thanks for bringing it up though. I do enjoy the survival suffering and challenges though as it keeps me on my guard. Viewing Rising World in a semi-similar light to what Rimworld has going for environmental threats, yet not as sci-fi.

I think that would work well with those 'alien' biomes we could try creating. Our own biome when we finally settle in a land after teching up.

I'd assume we shall eventually get our various kind of biomes with tropical, winter, desert type trees, and all that. Maybe even seasonal types, or such. I do like the idea of being able to colour the tree similar to how an American make a sparkly shiny tree.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…f-40-fruit_n_5614935.html

Would be awesome if we could combine trees into what's above to grow as a late-game type tree using those flowers you want to make use of. Be nice to even pot-plant them, or even try making hedges from them, or similar.

Ya, willing workers is the way to word it. No slaves, servants, or anything like that. Simply 'pets' and 'friends' type things. A 'comrade'. Basically thinking of very basic AI of movement of wandering around + needing to tend to their food & water needs with games like 'Rimworld' and 'Timber & Stone' does its AI.

    • Able to befriend to help you with stuff. Able to only assist with the basics as to not abuse them for 'slave-tasks' with a % of willingness to assist or not as to not abuse them.
    • Has to tend to their hunger & needs. Needs water & food. They'll go into their stock pile to tend to their needs, or ask you or others for such. This should help you needing to supply them + barter for items for survival. Would encourage trading, or I assume so.
    • Being able to customize the NPCs with your tech's clothing, accessories, and equipment should benefit them also, if loosely in that NPC manner. Nothing major, just that they'll be somewhat more 'high-tech' in their basic manner.
    • Mining/Crafting/Smelting - Mining could be done loosely by marking things with a pointer; Crafting being done loosely & on a % as to not abuse them as slaves; Smelting with same % for crafting.
    • Bonus 1: Being able to befriend one to assign them their own home, or bed of your choosing.
    • Bonus 2: Being able to insert customized NPCs with names & appearances with vanilla/modded tools with above behaviors then extra bonus points. Sorry, just can't find a proper game similar to this allowing AI partners in this scale.
    • Bonus 3: This being more for modding - Being able to mod them to have both Western and Eastern influences from North American comics and Japanese accessories and attire. Fox ears & tail from Anime (example) basically because I'm that 'stupid' person. :whistling:

NPC traders able to behave like statues is what I was told. A few days after I noted Red saying they'll be able to aimlessly walk around while defending themselves. That thought nudged itself close to my 'desires' that I'm highly interested and curious when NPC Traders do finally get added. I'm happy that's considered, yet want to apologize to Red for my constant nudging.

[Sorry, just deleting wall-of-texts now trying to keep thoughts brief.]

    - Farming & animals are to be expected in the next and following updates. You're going to get farming, same with more animals.
    - Static water is being looked into, same with one acting with physics after that...Or so mentioned.
    - More furniture I'd welcome, same with animals. Arctic Foxes mainly, and same with seasonal furniture, items, and foods. Anything to help customize I'd happily welcome because I'm jumping ship from Minecraft to this game.
    - Monsters + Combat is being looked into. May happen after all the food updates. We're all eagerly awaiting to see what kind of monsters they have planned to add (one being Zombie dog) so we're seeing how they'll be hostile. I do hope they won't be shy, nor hesitant in adding monsters for us to adapt to. We'll obviously whine and moan, though we'll eventually adapt to them.
    - Biomes are being looked into. I do hope they go all out in adding all sorts of biomes, same with alien types. I hope they go wild with them in a nice quality manner.
    - We're to expect dungeons and temples, maybe even NPC villages so we're safe there.

    -------

    - I wouldn't mind vertical gates and such. More options the better for creative manner. People love building castles and forts so that should be fun.
    - Horses & camels are being considered. They're on the list. I'd be happy with horse-drawn wagons, trains, and trams. Anything that provides freedom, creativity, and such would be awesome. Trains have also been implied in being added (possibly even with seeing a minecart in a dev image) for us to go wild with.
    - NPCS - I've been pushing this almost at full force to have NPC Traders & Villages pop up as planned. I do hope they behave mostly or loosely as they do in "Rim World", "Timber & Stone", or at least wander around while also being your 'follower' for a few. If Red can make them customizable, think for themselves while tending to their desires, and doing LIGHT building, farming, and crafting them I'd be happy. I don't expect them to be complex, as even told, just that they should be given the illusion of 'self-awareness' to even follow you as comrades while tending to their needs. Keeping themselves safe from the environment while using Rimworld as a template. I'll keep pushing for this until it gets close to what I desire, sorry Red :whistling:. (I can obviously be ignored so I'm also fine with that.)
    - Water Wheels and Windmills have been given interest into. We can expect water wheels, just not sure about windmills. Water and water tech we can expect in some shape or another, if possibly basic at first.
    - Elevators would be a plus for Rising World. I've already seen builds that require them. Having elevators in Rising World shall add something small that'll make it bigger than it is due to how many uses it shall have. I already seen Gelmaron's Town needing one. My builds 100% need them due to their planned scale.
    - Would be helpful to have templates. Not sure how to implement, but I guess there's a simple way to do so, if ghosting or through items.
    - Seeing as how we're aging through tech I'd also expect tools to age through tech also. From caveman's sticks & stones to mechanized tools requiring energy and fuel of sorts, or something in between. I have faith in the trio.

    - Game is still fresh so allow everything to balance itself out from one update to the next. Still noteworthy comment heh.
    - I found that stump comment comical. One of those nitpicking written in a comical tone heh.

    -------

Yup. Nice. Still love this game. Wish I could play happily.

Sweet! That's more to add onto the "ON The List" thread I have going in the "General Discussion" sub-forum.

    1) Horses & Camels - Nice to see they're planned. I guess it's an obvious given now on the Skyrim, scale of the world in RW, and Minecraft side of things. I hope you can actually put storage on them, and not just on mules. Being able to pull things would be awesome also. I don't mind using horses alone, like in Skyrim, yet would be awesome if we can give them those storage pouches for the added storage space. Also read into the Camel bit with it being awesome and unique for Rising World. I'd happily tame a camel for those desert trips.

    2) Cooking & Recipes - From what was implied, read, and similar you'll be able to get into cooking fairly deeply. You'll be able to create things on the simple to some of the complex stuff. Not sure how deep Red wants to do it, maybe something getting close to a cooking sim, yet not. Saturation bar would be interesting. The better fed the better you'll perform in both mining and hunting, eh?

    3) Radio - It's something I actually want in game. Euro Truck Simulator 2 did it nicely with how I could just tune into radios while driving. Making use of the computer, MP3 players, jukeboxes, and whatever else would be awesome. Adding distance to them would also be interesting with people also being able to hold concerts or DJs in their world. I'm thinking a tiny bit with Second Life while keeping Minecraft fully in mind with me trying to 'nudge' Rising World into the middle of both, or higher. I'd actually enjoy listening to music while fishing, if it isn't that stressful with visual and auditory queues, or having music playing casually in the house. I'd even use it to set the mood in WW2 themed bunkers, if you can get it to cache/store on the server as some kind of disc or data.

Interesting. Glad they will be saved which could keep those small 'precious', more personal builds safe for people. I can see why you would want to limit them on servers, yet not so much for singleplayer because others not to worry about.

I'm worried about those 'memorial', 'art gallery', and 'museum' type builds people and myself would want to build. Having one theme to one build, another to another...You'll easily go over that limit when you try adding various kinds of those. I guess it's quality over quantity which I'm also happy with, in a way.

I guess I'd have to agree loosely with 'yahgiggle' limiting it to 10 mbs and below because you're not really going to upload crystal clear HD images. Seeing as how I don't have I can't really say much. I guess it's still a bit 'too soon' to worry, yet not at the same time.

    ---

Edit: Guess I'm reading too much into the example or misreading it.

Yup, a road system is indeed planned from what was noted. Not sure how much is implied, just that we're getting roads, traffic lights, and some sort of vehicle building bit.

I really, really am hoping for grass seeds to be added so we can green the area back up. Looking at Weem's video is making me irritated all so slightly because the dirt blocks won't go back to green, especially in a Minecraft manner with how one dirt block 'infects' the other. I'll be happy with seeds. Making gardens inside the home should also make use of the seed-growings for those indoor gardens. That was a royal pain in Minecraft until you got silk-touch heh.

Oh wow.....Good thing I checked this because if I did grab this now, and if I did get people, it would have been all 'blank', or similar. Well, also relieved at Red's reply because when I do get a gallery built I would enjoy seeing other people touring it while seeing what I see. Also, I do hope the images get carried over with the building plans. That's been another one of my curious points about posters because I was planning to go all out with them. Also wondering if they're unlimited because I also assumed that they would be unlimited.

It's very easy to screw up the economy so I'll settle with the bartering between players and NPCs. Trading one item for another, similar to how you could pick and choose what items, research, or conditions to set in the Civilization games. That's been proven most effective over trying to get a bubble-bursting economy going. Tried to get it going in Minecraft with it failing.

I wouldn't mind holding onto gold coins as a way to display wealth, if I can hang them up and such.

This topic is silly, even if it is asking for help and with people ignoring other postings 8|
(There you go, two translated postings and such. Now for the 'assistance' posting is needed to stamp this thread 'approved' XD)

Then I'll leave that digging to modders for when the modding support is released. I guess those that have the 'time' & 'talent' (not meant as insult to Red & trio, just that there's lots on your plate) can mess with it while we get the core of the game.

Would be a neat idea, if the chunks for your home end up being loaded. I guess if you keep within the loaded chunks all that could be done. entities going after their needs while you're wandering around doing your own little thing, or observing it helplessly due to your Age level.

I see I'm using poor choices of words again. I won't be able to get rid of that again.....What I meant to say is that I agree with your train of thoughts while also trying to nudge it back to the hostiles being attracted by vehicles and light while scaring off the more 'peaceful' entities. I'm now agreeing with your posting how you explained yourself. I think all this snowing is doing my mind in, same with the frustrations of not being able to beat this level in this KanColle web game.

I'll agree with the whole light thing, if they do see it from a distance. That would be quite interesting for you to see a curious hostile entity behaving all neutral or peaceful at first. Once they feel like they can attack they should consider it. Some more than others, some less than others. Not sure how the coding works, though should be interesting if you could insert those search patterns rescue patrols, navies, and similar use to search an area. Just an idea. What would be most amusing if you know a mob to be hostile but you stalk it to see what it's curious about with the illusion that it's actually checking out your stuff, maybe even playing around with items. I have yet to see a hostile do such. Would be a nice breath of fresh air. I guess they should also be allowed to stray briefly out of their native biome before wandering back in for safety.

And yes, we players indeed do turtle. The "Digging" monster Weem mentioned would be most appropriate here. Not sure it'll even be considered because people are going to whine and moan about how their stuff keeps being destroyed with them resorting to turning every monster off all because a mob was added to un-turtle them. I really do want to see it added, just that I would hate seeing people not wanting more unique mobs that could possibly make the game more interesting in curiosity and with stories being told how monsters ruined their day. I do agree that there should also be certain degrees of stocking up on wheat, live-stock, supplies, building materials, and etc. Should be a chance to spawn something, but I guess complex thoughts should be added post-game and through mods.

(Have I strayed or poorly worded things again?)

Same thoughts as R3DROOK. More hassle than it is worth, though mods can freely add it in but I do hope they balance it so that it doesn't become abusive as it was in Minecraft. If mods are going to add it do treat it with the utmost care please or else you'll end up in the situation I have by fighting with friendly players.

Would be an interesting idea, though I think it would be similar to how "Forest" does its base hunting thing. Those mutants constantly going after you, even if you fortified your base and such. It gets tedious that you'll have to tone down the frequency, make it only a certain type, while also making it more of a vehicle thing. It'll have to be more along the line of you having to be aware of your surroundings over a pure "Forest" mutant attraction. I guess that's what's also being implied, yet not worded clearly.

The vehicle noise attractions and scare-offs being the awesome ideas.

Excellent! I'm looking forward to when I do start my builds, especially for that Canadian mansion.

I can link you to two sources as inspiration if you ever want to build up a library. I'd happily browse through a library trying to find stuff of interest, even picture books using the poster feature, or similar.

    - Library - http://steamcommunity.com/shar…filedetails/?id=393163834
    - Actual Library, only found Anime version though in the anime "Penguindrum". It's somewhere in Europe in one of those 'arctic' European places. I forgot where. It is a wall full of books going down with stairs connecting to each floor.

I hope those two links helps with inspiration. A modern mansion protruding over a waterfall would be glorious also. House of glass surrounded by water also sounds awesome. Looking forward to seeing your builds.

If that was for me, I was responding to Arcticukitsu.

    Oh?
Clear day = curiousity; Following you, maybe even in a train/link/snake manner; Keeping in the distance at nice by shining their eyes.
Blizzard/snowstorms = Desire for blood by trying to bite at your teeth, showing their bright eyes in the distance. (Or when you provoke them they hide then swarm you like over-sized mosquitoes.)

Torch is one way, a fire ring or similar is another way. Locking yourself inside should be safe. Hearing them scream all night would be eerie.

    -------

If we're to add Yuki-onna she should be a mini-boss of her own that preys on players for their life-force. Draining the health bar fast enough that you can still flee, yet won't make it all that far. Would be fun as a mod creature, though having borrowing her abilities in small quantities sounds fun.

    ------

Alright, what else do we have in mind for the desert, swamp, jungles, and the like? I feel we need to consider those types.

A Hunter's Cabin would be nice for that Canadian touch. A fortress is something I also want to do so that also sounds awesome. I'll actually add that onto the list, as with my dream wanting me to build white-trimmed skyscrapper buildings. Going to edit that into the above main posting of mine heh. Not sure what I really want to build. Guess I'll sneak them into my first post. It requires me having the game to go wild with building.

(White Tower, Traditional Cabin, and KanColle Museum added in to the above with a brief explaination. I'm itching to get this, a new computer, and to share what I want to build.)

Guess I'll loosely mention and/or reply hmm.....

(Spoilers from Clannad) - This is in response to Meltron's mention of "robotic ghosts".

I'll agree that Rising World should stick to its intended theme while the Japanese stuff should be done through mods, or at least through scenery. Simply 'inspiration' for 'food-for-thought'. That 'snow ghost' was more of a Canadian jest for amusement with me curious to see if they'll even be considered, added, or would be something needing a mod to populate the world; The desert-like emptiness that winter is known for. I'd be happy to find Cherry trees, Japanese maple, and various nature. Not just Japanese....Anything. Chinese, Korean....Middle Eastern type stuff and etc.

I'd also approve of more of a creepy presence than jump scares. Lurking in the fog I'd approve of, even if I'd be fearful in exploring.
