A new update is now available, introducing fishing, climbing gear, clothes and more!
Latest hotfix: 0.8.5.3 (2025-05-09)

Actually I started working on an example plugin for that Seriously, we really need to expand the "example plugins" section I will post some plugins for that once the update is ready

Thank you very much on that. Sorry for being stupid just that I'm now at the point of "if you need something done you have to do it yourself". Looking forward to when you have it all ready :)

Yes and no^^ Custom items will be stored permanently in the world database (once they're added to a player inventory or the world). Every item is identified by a unique hash which is set by the plugin creator.
However, for the time being, it will only be possible to add custom items, i.e. "usable" items which are stored in the player inventory (tools, weapons, utilities, food etc). I'm not sure if adding new furniture and other objects will be possible at the same time. Basically it will mostly use the same internal mechanism, so even if adding objects isn't ready in time, we can implement that in a timely manner

Alright, so you said player inventory. If I want to dedicate a storage container to contain these modded items I do hope I'm able to do that as well. Can't wait to try it out though so I can finally mod something in weapon side at the very least. I at the very least hope for multiplayer side that it all syncs with players joining so there's no client miss-matching, and such.

I'll also just take a "wait and see" approach that we'll just see when you release it.

Adding donations or Patreon is something we definitely take into consideration now due to the recent changes on Steam. Maybe we could give more insight on the development on Patreon then, although I'm not sure if this is "fair" to other players (who still paid for the game)

Well, if the game really is in danger I'm sure 99% of the people should hopefully understand the situation Steam placed you and other developers in. It seems fair to me seeing how +18 games also require Patreon to stay afloat that you can simply state "development costs" while not being far from the truth, right? Well, you can do a poll then we can see from there if we're still uncertain about this. I've brought up Patreon before that people simply want things to be free yet you need money to live somehow, people should understand where you're coming from. We live in a heavy monetized world which is nuts.

I think Your must open a donation account to help support the game ...

Yeah, if it becomes too much of an issue having a Patreon account should help you (red51) out, unless that's a touchy thing in Germany or something. When push comes to shove something has to be done that we wouldn't mind helping you out Patreon wise. You could even post renders on higher tiers, or whatever you desire. Up to you. Even though I'm replying to agiser I'm aiming this at Red51 because I agree with agiser.

Rising World seems to still be doing better off that it's getting 65 article likes on Steam while CyubeVR is getting around a single digit likes on articles that I feel bad for any developer still making ground on their game. Word of mouth is going to have to be stronger. It's also because of corporation greed that people shifted from Youtube to Twitch yet it's still bad. I wonder if Vimeo is a proper replacement for YOutube that we should colonize Vimeo for our Rising World fun.

The problem is I keep praising you too much that it becomes moot. I still have to praise you though for how you listen

Yes, we're currently working on a way to respawn animals automatically if it's necessary. I hope to get this ready in time for the update, but I'm confident
Maybe we will also add a command to force respawn animals/npcs.

Yes, but only if the chunk hasn't been modified (so if you built a house there, npcs won't respawn there)

This makes me happy you're looking into this because places then became deserted. This shall probably once again make me want to play with Animal Breed Master again that I can't wait. Awesome! Hope it all works out that I wish you the best. Rising World honestly needs even the things your trying to get ready in time for the update.

We will at least offer an example plugin which loads custom items automatically without having to write a single line of code. You just have to put the item files (model, texture, additional data) into a subfolder in the plugin folder, and the plugin will do the rest.

Excellent! I can't wait to check out the example because I apparently need the 'Book for dummies' edition of it so I can understand what the hell is going on. I stalled out on music that I can't wait to play with this enforce. Can you please go back and make a 'Music API Tutorial: For dummies' as well? :P

A new thought came to my mind is if we can also have these items also behave as crafting benches/furniture/storage containers so once we place them down they can stay in place as we specified them to? It would work better than the 'Staticmodels' plugin that I struggled with because of the whole .pmx file format thing. Maybe I'll still have trouble with it, who knows. I can ask around now thanks to VRchat side of things having borrowed models uploaded. Guess I'll just wait and see that I'm probably being far too curious than needed.

I guess we'll figure this all out when it releases? Doesn't hurt to ask now though. Maybe. ?(

I found a new game to place onto the main recommended games  . If you own VR this IS a MUST play that even if you don't own VR, get a VR arcade to host it somehow. Get a VR arcade to set this up so you can play it! <3<3

    - Blade and Sorcery:

Still youthful out of the gate, yet showing mature promise that it commands respect. It's very brutal, gory, and such that you'll be wanting to keep coming back (even if you deny it) to stab the npcs in various ways possible. The game operates in warping to a map place to then combat enemies in your desired wave format that each level shall also be eventually customizable by other players. However you want to play, that's how you play. Want to be melee, then be melee. If you want to be long range, that is your call as well. You can sneak, run, jump, kick, use magic (sorcery) and etc that this game is heavily inspired by Skyrim. The game is also highly suggestive when you get the arena for gladiator fights where the woman wear less clothing that I'd laugh if lewd mods were made.

You can tell it's inspired by Skyrim that the developer gave you melee weapons, mages in various places, the places themselves, and etc. The styling is there. Maybe he's even inspired by 'Tales of Glory' having their own dragon as a easteregg, who knows. Coincidence, maybe. He even noted in a Youtube as 'The Baron':

Now combine this with a game like skyrim....... I would never leave vr XD

    The Baron 2 days ago
    That's my dream. :)

The problem is that the weapons seem "slow" and "ballooned" that you'll have issues getting a good hit that it's like hitting someone with a foam weapon. It then becomes a game of panic, scrambling to get your composure back for another attack. It becomes clunky that it sometimes becomes a weird game of Russian Roulette on if the enemy dies or not. Even so, shield battle is fun, melee battle is a blast, and even blocking attacks is awesome. This game is a blast that people even compared it to Gorn. Maybe it is, though I prefer 'Tales of Glory' because that's what I'm familiar with. I"m also trying to learn magic so I can't tell you how magic works, nor how grappling people to throw them works. More experimentation needs to be done.

PSVR support is also being considered that I wish them the best. It's easier for people to purchase VR through PSVR that more power to those people.

    ---------------

    - Furious Seas (Revisited):

Furious Seas recently updated with various updates adding Exploration mode, survival mode, and even a Galleon update for you to have with which has been fun seeing the new things they've been adding. Exploration mode as you exploring the world freely at your own whim; Survival is surviving wave of ships in waves gaining cash to buy new boats that it's now the new meat and core of the game, something the story mode was previous. It's fun! The Galleon update also allowing you to command a Galleon for combat that new ships are able to be unlocked that progression is now going to be the game's core element

If you have VR please play Furious Seas! It's also being considered for PSVR support that you'll most likely even see it on PSVR.

    -------------

    - Cyube VR - (Trello):
I haven't played much but I am tracking the game a lot. I'm tracking the updates waiting for laser pick-ups, and similar because crouching to pick things up in a crowded play area ruins everything.

    - Trello:
    https://trello.com/b/Rorsbris/cyubevr-roadmap

The guy is going to add some 'telekenisis' type element to pick up blocks. Awesome. He also wants to rename CyubeVR to something else, something I feel unnecessary. His cal though. Wants to add baddies, weather, snowy biome, and etc. Should be neat.

    -------------

By playing VR games you're also supporting the VR market which in turn causes a butterfly effect of helping out Rising World with plans for VR support. I do apologize to Red51 that I'm advertising other games and not Rising World, just in a very loose manner trying to support the VR market so it'll be easier for Rising World to have VR support. I do however support Rising World on the side by streaming it on Twitch that people seemed interested in it at times.

Same question that I guess has been answered, yet wanting to know if they'll be in older chunks as well. If not, I guess we'll have to make our own bandit camps for them to wander out on their own.

Also, awesome on the hostile NPCs. Happy about it that I can't wait for them to spice things up. I however feel bad to those that shall filter the NPCs out, yet happy we have the feature to do so. Half the game would be gone for them, but if they want to play that way I guess that's fine.

Nice to hear about the addition of custom items that I do hope I can get someone serious to help me port in items I've added into VRchat into Rising World so I can boast about this on Youtube & etc. I'm still stuck on the music side, as well as any NPC plugins, that I hope someone can help me port in custom models once we gain that update. I can't wait to add in custom objects :D

    Lastly, because of the skeletons.

I also hope Steam sorts their idiocy out because indie developers are the ones keeping the whole VR market afloat as well, not just the gaming market, that I do hope Steam fixes that. Everything AAA games refuse to do the indie developers end up doing with little to no complaints. :D

Sorry if it appears I'm spamming too much that I fell behind. If you guys are actually reading this, then awesome. if not, then I guess I'm just doing this for myself then so I can keep track of things. If you guys are indeed benefiting from this whole VR side of things then I'm not wasting as much time as I thought I had. Maybe I still am. Even so, I'm doing this for both myself so I can be more informed while helping those with VR here as well so we can have fun with our VR to the fullest.

There's some more things I came across that I just had to share because of how relevant they are.

    - The 3 Most Common Arguments Against VR & Why they're Wrong:

    https://www.roadtovr.com/the-3…-vr-and-why-theyre-wrong/

    1) It failed before, thus it shall fail again. (Incorrect)
    2) Just like the 3DTV it shall fail (incorrect)
    3) It shall fail like Kinect with gestures (Incorrect)
(Clarification: When I say "Incorrect" it's the trolls, not the sections.)

You know, for #1 people don't know what "prototype" means. You constantly have to "fail" to make it eventually work, thus why we have planes & computers, and etc. It's like writing drafts for a story that each draft makes it better, or with how interation each device becomes better. Or think of it like stairs that it goes up the next step that you have something to work with from the step below. Like with the whole Sega VR, among other prototyped VR gear from the past. Nothing is going to be perfect at first that you HAVE to make it perfect. VR now has a stable market, make use of it. It's here to stay, and I see people happily and warmly accepting it... Except for the few grinchy envious idiots. You can see that VR is more affordable, more accessible, and it's becoming far more easilly accessible with Oculus Quest, Mixed Realty, & etc. Even those VR mobile headsets.

For #2 this has to be the most frustrating thing I've experienced because even my arrogant Twitch streaming friend is saying it, and he knows nothing of VR. I own it and he hates the Switch and everything always whining about everything. They're also two different platforms that you can't interact with your scenery with 3DTVs, something you can do with VR. One is flat and stationary while the other allows you to be fully immersed in VR that THAT is the reason why VR is awesome. My friend noted how the headset and controllers take away from that experience just he knows jack s*** about what he's talking about. Just envy that I'm still wound up by his ignorant comment, as with those on Steam parroting trolls. Can you wear a 3DTV like a VR headset? No? That's the point, thus why you can high five, gesture, and dance in VRchat, among other VR games.

For #3 the irony here is that people used Kinect to dance in VRchat. People actually used Kinect to actually dance that Kinect may have died in its native land, yet used in other formats for immersion and fun.

If you want it to fail, it will fail; If you want something to succeed you will make it succeed, thus why it's still being worked on to this day.

    ---------------

    - The Elder Scrolls: Blades (Mobile & VR):

Skyrim blade is a free game for Mobile & VR with proceduraly generated dungeons. The main hub is your own settlement and quest, the Abyss being a fight in dungeons until you're defeated, even PVP mode in both Mobile & VR side of things. They also interconnect. I'm still trying to try it out for VR that I want to playtest this just to see what Bethesda is "prototyping" to see how others can take advantage of this. It's as much for me as it is for others as well...... I'm curious. It's even for mobile VR as well as high-end VR.
    (Delayed till early 2019)

I'm here for the VR side of things.

    - PSVR - General Thoughts:

I forgot to post things about PSVR because I don't have it. I'm however checking it out now that PSVR is something one shouldn't ignore either. There's a genuine market out there that one should respect it through-and-through because their sale numbers are between $3-4 million that you have to respect that. It's growing, or so noted on graphs.

    - https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/…e_november_rollercoaster/

A comment stood out that I can agree with because I'm seeing far too many developers making various excuses that the "market is small" that they won't prioritize it, or that it's hard to make profit. Maybe it is, just not in the way they're claiming. They'll still see genuine support that if nobody is supporting their game then either A) Their game is crap, or B) They didn't advertise in the appropriate manner similar to how 'War Robots VR' Kickstarter had where their Kickstarter was a bust. War Robot VR's full game kickstarter was a bust from poor advertisement. If they tried now they would succeed because are now "more aware" of their surroundings. They have to however contact appropriate VR content creators to put it out there.

Really nice to see the rebound and then some with BF though. Pushing towards that threshold where developers find it harder to use the lack of profit excuse for ignoring VR.

You have to also thank Beat Saber for the massive push on that PSVR sales graph.

    - PSVR games of Interest

Now, what games does PSVR have that you could find of interest? What catches my interest? Those that have * are also on PC:

    - Beat Saber*
    - SuperHot VR*
    - Batman Arkam VR
    - GT Sport VR
    - Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
    - Star Wars Battlefront - Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission (Could be good)
    - Arizona Sunshine*
    - Doom VFR*
    - Rec Room*
    - Eagle Flight*
    - Skyrim*
    - I Expect You To Die*
    - Megaton Rainfall*
    - Zone of Enders: 2nd Runner*
    - Firewall Zero Hour
    - Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
    - Wipeout Omega
    - Tetris Effect
    - Farpoint
    - In Death*
    - Borderlands 2*

I'm looking at this list wondering how VR & PSVR is dead, or dying. I'm actually impressed it actually has that many games that I'm simply seeing it grow. The game I love, and hope to see on VR would be the following game. May stay as a PSVR exclusive though

    - Falcon Age:

And let's not forget, because of my posting above, that the PSVR version of 'Spice & Wolf VR has been funded mainly by the Japanese on the Campfire crowdfunding site.

    - Spice & Wolf PSVR version:
    https://twitter.com/spicytails/status/1067072454630109184

Well, I'm happy after seeing this that I'm tempted in purchasing PS4 for PSVR purposes. I have no more room in my room so that's a no that I'll have to go with the Switch, and that's that. I can't get a PS4 unless someone provides it to me for "press' purposes because I'm constantly researching many things. All that's missing now is a proper Gundam VR game made by Bandai-Namco.... Where's your Gundam game.... You have a VR gaming to tap into that there'll be a nice saturation effect :)

    PSVR is healthy <3

I"ll keep this one short that I'll get straight to the point. New games & articles to and for VR.

    --------

    - VR is dying:

A friend and I conversed about VR that it became heated that he unintentionally set me off showing how VR is "dead" while also refusing to listen to anything I had to say. I simply view his thoughts as ill-informed while equally ignoring what I had to say, even if he may have read & parroted what was posted. I'm the one with a VR, I know what's going on. I may be bias (maybe arrogant at times), just that I can't agree to "VR dying". Maybe stalled, but not "dying". Two following links were posted to show how VR is dying while mentioning the moronic 3D TV comparison. You can't even immerse yourself with a 3D TV as you can with a VR headset....... I smell envy and jealousy.

    - https://www.statista.com/stati…-reality-users-worldwide/

Stalled, maybe. But not "dying". Can someone influential PLEASE get in contact with Bandai-Namco so they can get off their rear ends to make a Gundam VR game for BOTH PSVR & PC Steam? It seriously and honestly is needed right now.

    ---------

    - VR is Well & Alive:

Next day over I stumbled across these two articles stating that the Steam numbers show otherwise that numbers are simply on the rise. It matches well with all the headsets being bought with how Beat Saber, VRchat, and others keep praising one another for selling headsets. It matches all the Tweets I've seen tweeted & retweeted of people buying VR headsets. The articles point out that people are also not looking at the right zone that they should be more open minded. Granted, they're pointing towards VR arcades, industry training, and such. I also view it from the perspective that people aren't looking under 'New', 'Trending', and such on Stream VR storage page. People aren't doing their research that they want to be spoon fed.

    - https://gamedaily.biz/article/…hMAwf2H3VwtpIAPaRGQT-fwYs

And yes, I posted heavily in the roadtovr's blog posting because I'm frustrated with certain people. I had to agree with certain people sharing similar experiences as my own.

    ---------

    - VR Games:

More games were found on Steam that I've finally done my routine scan again, if belated. There's a nice batch to note & renote.

    - BALSA - Model Flight Simulator - https://store.steampowered.com…A_Model_Flight_Simulator/ - (Kerbal Developers; High respect)
    - Forklift SImulator 2019 - https://store.steampowered.com…/Forklift_Simulator_2019/
    - Raptor: Cretaceous Island - https://store.steampowered.com…Raptor_Cretaceous_Island/ - (Positive rating)
    - Voronium - Locust Sols - https://store.steampowered.com…80/Voronium__Locust_Sols/
    - Tin Hearts - https://store.steampowered.com/app/572540/Tin_Hearts/
    - Blade and Sorcery - https://store.steampowered.com/app/629730/Blade_and_Sorcery/ - (Highly promising)
    - Space Battle VR - https://store.steampowered.com/app/982700/Space_Battle_VR/
    - Xion - https://store.steampowered.com/app/644420/Xion/
    - Legendary Hunter VR - https://store.steampowered.com…2170/Legendary_Hunter_VR/ - (Duck hunt)

    - Titanic VR - http://www.titanichg.com/demo/ - (Demo; Desktop & VR support; Crowdfunding)

The VR library simply keeps growing that I just can't understand other game developer's responses of a "small market". Build the right game and people shall support this "small" market. Need to be as assertive as Spicytails are with Spice & Wolf VR whom saw a void, thus trying to fill it with their own game.

    -----------

    - Spice & Wolf Crowdfunding:

Been tracking this heavily because it's one of those heavy hitter VR games that shall send ripple-effects throughout the VR market. It can't be ignored because of the amount of influence it has within and around it that it must be tracked from beginning to the time it's released, and beyond with the amount of weight it holds within the Japanese market, as well as outside of it. I'm hoping once this is successfully crowd funded that "skittish" and "lazy" game developers/studios/publishers shall once again see value in VR which shall once again encourage them to make proper AAA VR games. People do care, just make the right game.

I'm also viewing this so importantly because if VR is more accepted in the mainstream that Red51 shall have an easier time with VR on his end for Rising World VR.... Whatever his vision, I'm hoping it'll be for the best that it shall lead into "gesture" VR, not 'Minecraft VR' VR type movements. Superhot VR is an example for 'gesture' VR, as with VRchat.

    Campfire:

    Kickstarter:

    Quote

    CA$ 149,077 pledged of CA$ 93,135 goal; 482 people

I consider this successful because people also love the concept of seeing Holo in VR that they want to support it. Build the right thing and people shall come swarming. Spice & Wolf VR could probably be counted as almost a AAA game, if short because it's still indie side of things. Also, I hate the developer mentality that they won't add VR support when they view the market as "small"...... Just do it....... If you see a void please just fill it in the best you can with how other developers have quietly been doing with Slime Rancher, Scanner Sombre, among others. Nothing shall grow if you don't add to it.......

Alright, I love learning about anything historical when it's in "bite sized" chunks that I feel 'Rising World' could use these sort of influences in abandoned dungeons, terrain generation, and such. Sure, I'm posting it in the off-topics, yet still hope/wish Red51 & friends shall stumble across it taking inspiration in whatever form they take it as. I love learning when I can easily consume it.

Atlantis may be 'Eye of the Sahara', A.K.A 'Richat Structure'. I'll still believe in it until I hear actual genuine debunked articles saying scientists and geologists actually went there ENMASS to show me actual information either confirming or denying what's there. I'll continue entertaining the thought until I gain an actual article, not some 'National Geographic' article of people's doubts, and half-truths. Not going to deny facts, just actual articles and findings. I need actual solid information either proving or disproving Atlantis is the Eye of the Sahara.

    ----------------

    On a side-note to that:

I've gained a curiousity for something history books rarely teach us because there's a void, and a void has to be filled. Guild Wars Nightfall touched upon the African culture that I respect that. I didn't understand the significance back then, I do now thanks to influences like KanColle for teaching me WW2, and Fate/Grand Order teaching me about history in both indirect ways. When you're interested about games you try and learn more that interesting things are noted that I love learning about African, Maiyan, and anything in general. It makes for good game & anime material that you'll know where some creators come from 8)

You know how Atlantis was said to be an island? There may be evidence that it was a giant circular city located on a moderately large island before landmass shifted. The fun thing is, Maiyans & Aztec (probably confusing the two) have done similar things which interests me that I wish we knew more about them. Even watch the 'Machu Pichu' video I linked in main posting.

Mexico City used to be a floating island city....... Spanish however ruined things that we'll no longer have such a view. See? See what I mean these could make good Rising World points of interests? arious features, elements, and things to play with implemented in the terrain generation in a very unique manner. Red51 could have fun making maps & scrolls hinting to various landmasses in vague & detailed manners where you'll come across terrain covered structures, & etc.

This is epic on its own, awesome if it could find its way into Rising World. It's however in its own thread in off-topic with how "controversial" it may be. I don't believe in flat-earth, but I do believe in the possibility that Atlantis may be the Richat Structure because of how genuinely plausible it is.

Even with enough time going by there's still some feedback that can still be given.......... Though, I guess it could also be used as a "refresher" if things are forgotten or lost in the loop somehow.

    1) Wish you could stand on boats without it sinking
    2) Wish you could fish from boats
    3) Wish boats had storage (repeated though, sorry)
    4) Wish you could auto-throttle a boat while viewing a map (similar to a horse & other mounts; View Ylands game)
    5) Fishing themed storage & display containers (Something cosmetic to both view & hold fish
    6) Been thinking if we could build each boat blueprint in its own piece in the crafting bench, or have a crafting bench dedicated to vehicles? Too messy? Red51 may have a better idea on this
    7) Horses (mounts) being able to walk backwards.

Well, I would love a way to display the rubber duck with how "special" it is. I'm glad I Twitch clipped that long ago while also amused how it floats :P

On another thought I wonder if Red51 would be find of allowing us to play with farmable seeds (wheat & such) without looking for it that we can gain it from a traveling merchant allowing Red51 time to continue polishing the terrain before we gain it with wiggle room for other updates to sneak in. We could mess about with farming & such until then sprucing the terrain up our way.

Would it be possible to have Rising World snow behave like this? Actual soft and fluffy snow which reacts to pressure?
    https://twitter.com/RedDeadSoc…tatus/1068324255769739264

Lastly, happy we're going to gain hostile NPCs that it's been what we wished for. Curious when the teaser preview shall pop up. Still waiting for a news posting or a banner to pop up that I guess it's still a ways away. Sorry for any troubles I've caused lately (stress) hoping that everything is still fine.

I would say "inspired by". They built on the concepts presented by their predecessors and turned them into something better. It's the same pattern all art goes through. Everything is in some way built on the shoulders of previous giants.

    This ^

Yeah, that's how I viewed Rising World and shall always view it that you simply take someone's concept and improve on it. That's how we're improving on computer parts, cars, planes, and etc in the world that without someone else putting their own spin we wouldn't be where we are now in a global sense, as well as Rising World. Someone is going to look at Rising World in the future to hopefully 1-up on that.

On a similar note UBOAT is to Silent Hunter 3 what Rising World is to Minecraft, an improvement; A step up in the ladder.

Well, Youtube was recommending me videos that I thought I'd check them out that they led me to some very interesting videos. First it was about Atlantis, then about Petra Monument, among others with how humans may be older than we realize that our linage may go back even further to 300,000 years, or so. It was around the time when Younger Drais may have hit Earth setting debri all around North American, Europe, and northern Africa that it may have genuinely reset ancient civilizations back to the beginning. All the megafuana wiped out.....

Atlantis may have been effected by this causing floods, earthquakes, and etc that we lost it in western Africa. Maybe I"m being baited, just that there's interesting things her both on its own, as well as for potential content to check out for Red51 to inspire from.

    Take-away from this:

    1) Ancient Civilization older than we realize with far more unique ways of living in each settlement
    2) They were far more advanced than we realized.
    3) Geologits are shady arrogant attention seeking individuals that we shouldn't praise them blindly just because they're geologists & scientists. They have the capacity and intelligence to lie.
    4) North America may have been settled far earlier than the 'First Nation' people, as well as the Vikings, or even the controversial Chinese voyage in a giant Junk boat in the Pacific. Someone else far FAR earlier may have visited North America, and I believe it.

Then there's a Scott Manley video talking about an impact crater which has been linked to a plausible ancient humans further back than what we may have realized.

Disclaimer: I"m not saying I believe what he says 100%. I'm taking things with a "grain of salt" that it's neat to consider because we believe we know everything when we honestly don't. That arrogance causes us to lose sight of things, even lose everything. Maybe I'm getting trolled by 'Bright Insight' youtube channel, who knows.

To what Tryst said the TVs in Tower Unite are still the best with how you can just copy & paste links with ease. VRchat does it stupidly that Tower Unite is the best that if Red51 wants to hang out in Tower Unite one day that we should so he can see how TVs should function in Rising World. Red51, if you ever get to the point of monitors & TVs, please do poke me so we can play Tower Unite so I can show you a few things as inspiration :D

Also, agree that TVs & monitors/computers should show videos stored in "video" folders in the directory.

    - Dragon's Dogma - Pawns (NPC Companions):

We honestly need NPC companions badly that I'm bringing it up because of how important they are. I still admire how adaptive the ai 'Black & White'' Familiar AI with how helpful it was that I wish more game developers had that sort of AI to help with things. That AI would learn that something similar was done in Dragon's Dogma that I need to bring it up again with how I'm playing it again, admused by their behaviour. Sure, Dragon Dogma's AI ain't the best, but it contains something other AI doesn't have that they learn from their environment while even guiding the players that something like this should be looked into for Rising World. DD's AI learns from both you & other players that they can guide players through the game by moving levers, and etc. They become more proficient in what they do by exploiting the weakness of creatures that they can then pass this knowledge onto you, onto other players who hire your Pawn, and etc. You can even set when they can gather loot, how they attack, and how they should behave. The Pawns in Dragon's Dogma even break crates so they can get loot that they're basically smart children, as they're portrayed as being living "dolls" serving their "Masters". They need Players or else they'd be lost wandering souls with no drive......

For Rising World we still have yet gain NPCs, let alone NPC companions. For "if" & "when" we do, Dragon's Dogma (Black & White) would be a good place to seek actual inspiration from that your main humanoid companion should ask you how they should behave around you that you should be able to set their perimeters of what they should do. You could specialize them to be resources gatherers, body-guards, or whichever..... Tell them when to loot, how to loot, how to mine (spiral, grid, & etc), while even guiding players on certain things.

If Red51 is able, he should give us the option to spawn into worlds with our first companion by rescuing them nearby so they can then guide us as we aid them. They would tell us to build shelter, help us with chopping wood, cooking food, telling you to look at your journal, help you find water to fish from, and etc. Basically similar things to Dragon's Dogma that it would be an interesting experience. They should learn from you on how to do things that if you're a fighter they should ask if you want them to be a fighter that they'll fight your style. If you're a farmer & etc they should learn how you plant crops, and etc. Maybe even offer up some tips? For other players this could be used in a similar manner of teaching one NPC companion how to react to specific environments, NPCs, and such that they may behave differently the next time around in a more 'Rising World' manner. They would probably shoot bandits from a far, or something like that.

I know I"m being greedy here first wishing for NPC Companions just that I'm admiring how adaptive Dragon's Dogma AI behaves that I would love something similar attempted for Rising World for immersion sake, not just my own. As much as I say it's for me this is more for RIsing World's benefit as well. Red51 attempting an "adaptive AI" would be an interesting task, if it can be done.

The "dramatic teen" was a few months early for the various plugins & the player model update. That video was posted on February 18, 2017 when we had the new player models in mid-to-late December. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I'm seeing. Also, I see that just about anybody can be a Youtuber, yet thankfully people are migrating to Twitch thanks to how vile Youtube itself is being by preferring bigger youtubers over smaller ones. Finding content is becoming harder that you simply get "teen drama", such as this video that you just found. Yes, "teen drama".

What a goof... What a brainless goof...... People in his comment section also getting triggered at him for cursing that even his community is unstable. I hope Youtube algorithms also nukes his views as it has done with other youtubers favouring bigger Youtubers over small ones. I hope it's actually nuking him right now that people are flocking/migrating over to Twitch instead.

So many cheap shots, but as Mino said thankfully we have better player models & plugins to protect ourselves form such a brainless buffoon as him seeking cheap views.

Another batch of VR games to note because of 'October Rush', or whichever it was. A few good ones in there :) It's short because I'm tracking the likes of 'Castaway VR', among others. More would have found their way onto the list.

Stupid Code 51 game being a PVP oriented game..... We need competent game developers to release a PVE orientated co-op mecha game..... Or Bandai-Namco to get off their lazy greedy rear ends to make a PSVR version of a Gundam game that should also be a PC Steam Version. If they do make a VR game of Gundam then it would be a PSVR exclusive.... Stupid Bandai-Namco....

I'm still bitter about waiting on 'Steel & Soul'. Give me one god damn mecha PVE game.... One GOOD one..... *rant rand; Vent vent* :cursing: When it does release in December 31st, 2018. (IF it does) I'll finally be happy that another void has been filled in. VR market severely needs a good PVE mecha game.... It's all PVP garbage with maybe one good PVP game.

    ----------

I'm also bitter about how desktop mode developers keep saying "we have no plans for VR" that it basically bites them in the ass. Yeah, no **** VR market is lacking when you don't add to it. The developers for Bus Sim 18 left themselves open, yet the UBOAT one being more "tense" that it's bugging me.

    Quote from gen100mek

There are no plans for VS support. Not in this kind of game.

Well, that's your fault. I know I'm being harsh and whiny but honestly that's your fault. I tested the game that it has free-roaming elements that this game needs to support it. It has two modes with one being "tactical" with the other being "free-roamy" exploration for 'Silent Hunter 3' tributes. The Uboat is nicely detailed that it would be perfect as eye candy as well. It was neat in desktop mode; Should be better in VR. The game feels like a 80% polished and modernized SH3 game that it can actually support VR, if the developers cared. But now that they closed the door you guys basically shot yourself in the foot with what could be considered a shotgun, or even a rocket launcher. Not a pistol, as the saying may imply.

That's a nice middle finger there for the VR market. RIP. Yeah, I'm salty... I"m angry..... Why? As a consumer I'm seeing voids with skilled developers making excuses. They may be correct making their decisions that I'm just a whiny customer, just that there's a thing called "supply and demand". It needs to be respected. That's why I'm furious. People have the skill, yet won't use it. But now that I said this I'm expecting to be counter-called on this one for how emotionally charged my posting is.

This is awesome that I love the track Joni made for it. Whatever system we get for Rising World I would love this in for Joni to use, and others who can actually read note music. NPCs should be able to read from from the current musical keys, as well as this one Joni mentioned. Whatever Red51 is able to do :)

Has it really been a month? Damn. Well, at this point I'm wishing Oculus would have braided their USB cables similar to how PS3 USB cables are. Why? Because they don't tangle. I'm having to slowly untangle the damn Oculus Rift cables damn it. Also been too busy to keep up that I haven't done my weekly or bi-weekly research.

    -----------

Steal and Soul mecha game was to release that it was postponed till December 31st, 2018 from October 15th that I'm annoyed.

    - Cyberthreat: https://store.steampowered.com/app/516590/CyberThreat/
    - No King No Kingdom VR: https://store.steampowered.com…00/No_King_No_Kingdom_VR/ - (This game needs to be supported for concept)
    - VR Curling: https://store.steampowered.com/app/959920/VR_Curling/
    - Apollo 11 VR HD: https://store.steampowered.com/app/953840/Apollo_11_VR_HD/
    - Battle of Kings VR: https://store.steampowered.com…78250/Battle_of_Kings_VR/
    - RUSH: https://store.steampowered.com/app/844040/RUSH/

I'm also trying to nudge SCS Software to add actual VR support to both Euro Truck SIm 2 & American Truck Sim to what seems to be a bust. UBOAT developers noted there are no plans that I find that foolish with how neat their game is allowing for interesting First Person interactions with the world and submarine. Bus Simulator 18 still hasn't added VR support that it's also their loss.

If this is about the VR market having a small fanbase, then no s**t! You're not making enough games for the VR market on the level of Beat Saber, VRchat, and etc. Trying to pass it off as magical things shall happen....... I would make VR games if I could..... I love SpicyTail's response that he's making a Spice and Wolf VR game for VR because it'll add towards the VR market. I'm upset with SCS Software especially with how they only have a pet project going on thanks to one developer that they're not going all in with the VR market..... It frustrates me. Sure, maybe making games for VR is costly & "hard", yet it's getting easier every month that it's becoming less and less believable on the "hard" part. If you want to make VR games, you can. There's experienced developers to learn from now, as well as games to study to make it happen!

I'm however going to give 'No King No Kingdom VR' my support because of the unique concept it has that it honestly needs to be spotlighted and supported. It's a unique gem (like Deisim) needing to be supported in the VR market.

I'm sure this is the same issue, but if it isn't here's something else.

Well, I have a lot of questions that I still don't know how to use them because someone has to show how it's done for me to tweak and change things. I do thank you for posting that, for showing what goes where, just that I'm still too much of an idiot to make proper use of it. I wouldn't know how to take that to play custom sound that I think I have to bug someone to make me a plugin that I could tweak similar to how you tweak the server files.

So, you're saying if we hit signs to play them? Awesome. Still recommend buttons and levers, or some "interactive" objects. I can work something out, just need a simplified tutorial to work off of. I never coded something like this.

This can be indeed confusing: when loading a magazine into the gun, it gets "consumed", so it no longer appears in your inventory (same with musket balls, rifle clips or arrows - once they're "loaded", they won't show up in the inventory). Once the magazine for the semi-auto rifle is loaded, you have 20 rounds. I agree that we need a separate indicator on the hud for this

Makes sense, and something I figured was happening. Well, whatever you do I'll accept that now that I know it's 20 I could estimate how many is left now. It's turning into my new favourite gun for self defense.

Basically this is a good idea, but we need a proper way to handle this in multiplayer. It wouldn't be an issue when playing singleplayer or if there is only one player on the server, but what happens if there are several players online and player A wants to sleep for 5 hours, while player B only wants to sleep 1 hour?

Awesome. Well, a voting thing could probably be placed, or even admin over-rides. If major players sleep they can over-ride other people's game sessions, or even a tally of majority that if enough people sleep it queue people up........ It's late (4 am est) that I'm sure you'll figure something out :D . Ideas are ideas that you'll gain the proper ones in proper time.
