A new update is now available, introducing fishing, climbing gear, clothes and more!
Latest hotfix: 0.8.5.3 (2025-05-09)

Well, that silence isn't reassuring that I can see why it's been sitting idle for so long. Well, I'm finally back home again for 3 days of peace and quiet that I want to break ground for this Custom Sound API thing that I need "some" clarification on it. Now that I have time I did a quick forum search that it lead me to these:

    https://javadoc.rising-world.n…ils/SoundInformation.html

    https://javadoc.rising-world.n…meSound-java.lang.String-

    Sound Support

From what I'm gathering it can only play the current sounds, yet with a bit of fiddling it 'may' even play external sounds to it. You could add your own sound-effects, and such. That's neat and all, but what I'm looking for is to push this 'Custom Sound API' feature to a more 'Jukebox' state of things similar to how it's done in VRchat. What I want to be able to do is either:

    1) Set up an area where music would play in that determined box area (in a pre-determined area),
    2) Make a jukebox type thing where when you click or hit it that it would play, stop, or go to the next track..... (May need buttons and levers for this one, or an actual jukebox to configure from an .mp3 folder?)

I fear we may need actual buttons and leavers to make use of custom sounds similar to how StaticModel plugins are done. I'm however yawning up a storm from how exhausted I am from work that tonight may not be the best, but the three following days would be. If you know something please do tell me.

Please do help me within the three days as I can focus on it the most then.

Alright, been meaning to try this that I finally want to give it a whirl. Well, that is if it's easy and doesn't require a higher level of scripting. I recall Red51 released an API related thing that you could trigger custom sounds to play that I would love to be able to get some sort of "mechanism" in the game to trigger these sounds that it be neat to have custom music playing. If not physical, then I would at least designate areas in where it would trigger, or so I read you could trigger such. I lost where this was posted, more so with people not really playing around with custom sounds that it's a shame... This is why I'm asking here.

If anybody has played with these custom sounds then please do chime in because we honestly need to break ground. If you guys won't, then I will. I want to get custom sounds playing that I also want to make someone happy by being able to play the following embedded video in Rising World... Not video wise, just music.

I have many more things on my end that I would love to get going that I want to build a 'concert hall' in Rising World that it's been an old idea even from Minecraft era. Please tell me that that the 'Custom Sound API' is easy to use..... Also please do tell me so we can get the ball rolling that I hate something so powerful sitting idle. It's like leaving a BMW, Porsche, or similar just sitting in the parking lot all day.......

    Let's get the ball rolling.

With how deserts play out with the temperature can we have the option to sleep to night time? When we lay in bed it should prompt us for how long, till when, and etc. I want to sleep to night time now so I can build during the night time in Rising World in desert biomes. Ylands does this, as with Skyrim.

Anybody have issues with the the new Rifle-Repeater gun found in the Tier 2 Crafting bench? It is indeed awesome, behaves awesome, and appears awesome. It feels awesome.

The issue I'm having with it is more with the magazines where it seem to stack and operate weirdly that 2 turned into 1, then 0 and still fired. Then I couldn't tell how many bullets in a clip/magazine that I would love actual proper feedback of how many bullets are in a clip. Maybe I can do a manual test on the flip-side of my night, yet would love an indicator to tell me how many clips are left in the magazine.

Maybe there's something that I'm being blind. I'd love to know an outside of the menu way of knowing.

Thanks Red51... I should have given the contest that I was running around one of my settlements that it just randomly crashed on me. Sure, I'll give it a whirl on Thursday seeing as how I have a full day off then. Maybe even tomorrow night.... We'll see how the wind blows that I'll go with the flow.

Oh, no, it's not related to the server. If the server has an issue, it should not have an impact on your framerate in most cases. If the game stutters (low frame rate, pauses etc), it's usually a clientside issue, but if the world takes ages to load (while you're still able to walk around), it's usually a serverside issue.
I was actually referring to your own, clientside hard drive

Nitrado, safe again! They must be relieved after all the times I blamed them for things. Though, that one time they left my server unprotected so they get a fail there while everything else holds up. I guess they're safe here.

If it's client side then I guess that makes sense because Maiya did have it worse off than me that I would then have to suspect some light memory build up from having traveled quite a distance. Do the distances cache somewhere? It seemed to have gotten worse near the end that we barely made it to the ocean to fish.

And yeah, I do blame my hard drive space that I want to buy a 1 TB Samsung SSD..... I want to finally switch to something with larger space. 300 GB isn't enough, nor is 200 GB... Everything wants to go on your SSD that it pisses me off how your hard drive slows down on the last 100 GB.... I'm constantly fighting for space on my hard drives.

Oh, sorry, actually there were quite a few lines missing in my previous response First of all, thanks for the videos! According to the video, these are not lags, so these framerate issues are not caused by the server (it would be a serverside issue if you could still move, but the world won't load fast enough). Huge pauses either occur if the game runs out of memory, or if there are lots of buildings or images in the world (or more precisely, in the chunk the game is currently loading). This issue can also be caused by the hard drive: there have been similar reports where people experienced a good average framerate, but huge pauses / stuttering when walking around. In these cases, it happened if the game was either installed on a slow hard drive (usb hard drive, or old 5400 RPM hdd's), or if there was a technical issue with the hard drive (bad sectors). Is your game installed on a hard drive, or on a SSD?
Maybe you can post a report file if you experience the stuttering again. Once you run into the framerate issues, open the console and type "report", then a report file will be created in your game directory. Please upload this file here, or alternatively send it via PM or mail to me

No worries, you're a busy guy.

It would appear that they are (frame-rate issues), just that they're more noticable now than ever that they're really hampering the gameplay experience. Maybe it's a sign that Nitrado's hosted device is on a bad sector, or something, as you mentioned. I don't host this on my computer but on Nitrado hosting that you traveled in the world before, if in a backup from NItrado. Next time I get that I"ll try and remember to do a report because it's far more noticable and tantrumy now than it was before.

Something is building up in the background and I'm too stupid to figure it out because I don't know how to program. ?(

There isn't a memory leak in this version (at least I haven't seen one^^), but the first release of the update contained some unnecessary debug output which can be a huge bottleneck for servers

Good to hear. I was booted from my server earlier today that I lost connection that I believe I may have to just blame Nitrado for that. I honestly want to know what's causing the lag spikes because it also makes mount riding across the world a pain in the rear with all the stuttering it does. During my stream on Twitch tonight I was booted when trying to place planks on my stable that I couldn't do anything for a good 5 minutes.

A request from both me and a Twitch viewer is that we should have an orientation arrow on campfires so we can orientate them properly in builds. Anything that rotates need arrows.

I just love this update that even other people are having fun with it haha. Now I gotta wait till Monday evening to play Rising World some more that I'm glad that I built up my stables and a fishing hut in one of my settlements. To those that are unaware fish are seperated by ocean & lakes that you can find fish only in oceans and only in lakes... It's awesome. I now need to colonize a lake area so I can fish out a nice amount of salmon from it :whistling:

[New] You can now see the insulation / protection stats of clothes

This is helpful. Awesome. I wanted to bring this up yet glad you beat me to the punch on this one.

[Change] Radiators are now also considered as a source of heat
[Change] Increased damage dealt by muskets

Didn't think of that because everything is just placeholders. It's awesome that if I'm to do a modern build in the snowy biomes (which are few and far) I'm going to have to build my builds with radiators.

Awesome on the musket thing, even though it can 1 or 2 shot animals. We'll see how it goes now.

[Bugfix] Tuna can now be cooked

Yay!~ This makes me very happy. Now let's see how this silly bugger gets cooked heh.

Did it happen to the animation of the other player, or to your own animation while riding a horse?

    Quote

You mean actual lags (i.e. high ping), or framerate issues / stuttering? Did you play on a dedicated multiplayer server, or via the "Play with friends" option?

Both. Its probably connected to the whole lag stuttering that something slowed our session down. Can't tell if it's because we were Discording with a voice call.... Maybe it was Discord causing it that the longer we played the worse it got. Though, I remember someone on Steam chat (or here) mentioned that this update has a very bad memory leak that it may be similar to the Player Foundation update. I have it on my Twitch stream if you want to give it a skim.

    https://clips.twitch.tv/PowerfulDignifiedDogBloodTrail

This video shall expire in 14 days but it does contain various evidences of our playthrough with the lag on a dedicated server on Nitrado. Can't tell if it was Discord caused but Maiya's mic did have issues & etc.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/315536224?t=05h24m37s

5 hours & 25 minutes into the video you can see how bad the lag gets on mounts. 5 hrs & 50 min in you can roughly hear the mic cutting in and out. Not sure if Discord was the cause.

    ---------------

After seeing Maiya barely having her horse flee from the tiger assault I really do hope we gain some kind of health indicator for mounts. Same with feeding them apples, or something like that. If they're hurt we should be able to heal them

Just a friendly reminder that this is still "open". Still waiting that maybe probably have been a good thing we waited this long now that we have a thing called 'pouches'.

If this plugin can be tackled by anyone, or Mino, then fishing should be a category they should be active in by bringing back fish. Pouches should also be a thing, more so if there may be a category for 'dungeon' runs. Everything still RNG, yet still focused heavily on NPC expeditions, if illusion (invisible to the player's eye; On paper) in some page you can organize them in.

Still would love to play with NPCs you can create and send on expeditions. Pouches would be a good thing to get after "they" return from their expeditions/adventures for either a set time, or elapsed time to then return..... Think Fallout Shelter, it's free on Steam. Those kinds of expeditions.

I had a very good session with Maiya today (a new member to the community) that it's been a blast. Showed her how to play Rising World while assisting her in settling into Rising World. It's been a blast.

    - Shivering in the rain while wearing a mining helmet and iron armour. I was idling trying to add Maiya onto the serve when it started to rain, catching me off guard that I had to hastefully make a campfire while partially panicking. I was actually panicking that it was amusing I was trying to make my fishing hut:
    https://clips.twitch.tv/WittyAbstruseCookieKevinTurtle

    - Fighting Tigers feels like you're fighting with gangsters, especially when you have a rookie player. Hard to tell if muskets have been nerfed, just that this was a crazy battle. This was madness:

    - Karma for cheating a bear:
    https://clips.twitch.tv/Glamor…geticRhinocerosRaccAttack

6 hours of fun that I loved each hour of it. I never once considered any one of those hours boring... Maybe there were down-times, but never boring. :D

    ----------

    Things to Note:

    - Logs & saplings (cactus also) are hard to pick up ever since this update.
    - Worms are abundant that I wish when they're on the surface that they would attract birds. If you try luring birds to trap them they should attack you in return that any Crows or Ravens would murder you with a murder; Dive bomb you, and etc.
    - When lagging the horse animations would mess up that you'd be hands over heels, or similar to that.
    - Horrible lag, yet unsure if it was because of Maiya's connection or the game's stability. Going around on mounts ended up being a chore at times with constant lag-spikes. It got worse at the last 2 hours of the 6 hours session we did.

There were more things to note just that I played for so long that I'm now exhausted. I had so much fun that everything else is now suffering in turn for neglect. Fishing is now also the best part of this update that I love it makes the game feel. :whistling:

Oh, that's interesting... it looks like the pouch hasn't been added to the inventory at all It's anyway strange that it took so long until the pouch showed up (actually the item is supposed to show up as soon as the rod starts to move)... please let me know if this happens again

It hasn't been added into the inventory at all that I'm assuming it either A) Disappeared, or B) Turned into a Plaice, or whatever you call it. Never did get the one from the clip you've seen. Otherwise, it's a fine update that I'm hyped. I want to build a few things again.

I had so much fun with this update that I'm honestly glad I streamed this on Twitch. I had fun finding out Red51 made boats the Wurm Unlimited way that it made me happy seeing that. I love that it feels weighted like that with anything easier would have cheapened the experience. Love both the boats, love the fishing rod (surprised to find out we could fish), while also amused by Red51 having his fun with the fish bones, rubber duck, and old boot.

    - QUACK!
    https://clips.twitch.tv/EvilAstuteKimchiBCouch

    - One of my pouches turned into Plaice, or even disappeared altogether.
    https://clips.twitch.tv/CoyZealousMinkRickroll

I couldn't figure out how to make a medkit until Avanar pointed out it was in the tier II bench, something I looked at yet couldn't find the first few times. Not sure how I missed it. I love this update that I was genuinely a child on christmas waiting for the present to be unwrapped when I wanted to load it up that it took 10 minutes to download, update, and load in. I had Twitch & Streamlabs on standby waiting to play. Rising World is shaping up to be an awesome game that there's lots of fun to be had <3

Great solid update with surprise fishing.

Awesome! I can now stop feeling bad for "rigging" that voting we had if we should have horses, boats, or trains that I tried to "force" people into going horses because boats wouldn't really fit. Boats now found their time in the game that I can't wait to fiddle around with them. Also, fishing eh? Awesome! Let's get that fishing industry going on my map that I always wanted to fish.

Time to get testing to then input my feedback a little while later. Red51, thank you for your hard work

Alright, I finally managed to get rid of my actual cold (no mini-colds) that I'm happy and posting again. I still may be a bit cranky, though let's get to the VR list.

    -----------

    - Swords of Gargantua - https://store.steampowered.com…5200/Swords_of_Gargantua/ - (Sword play with up to 4 people; High on my list now)
    - Chop It - https://store.steampowered.com/app/812580/Chop_It/ - (Similar to Beat Saber with a comical touch)
    - Time - https://store.steampowered.com/app/885590/Time/ - (Free music visualization; Reacts to sound)
    - Tee Time Golf - https://store.steampowered.com/app/537630/Tee_Time_Golf/
    - King of My Castle VR - https://store.steampowered.com…210/King_of_my_Castle_VR/ - (Tower Defense)
    - Jet Island - https://store.steampowered.com/app/587220/Jet_Island/ (Good as a beginner's game)
    - Magic Blast VR - https://store.steampowered.com/app/862730/Magic_Blast_VR/ - (Tracking this for the customization & VRchat avatar support; Amused.)
    - A Mars Adventure: Redturtle https://store.steampowered.com…Mars_Adventure_Redturtle/ - (A Mars Adventure Redturtle)
    - Thief Bird - https://store.steampowered.com/app/675700/Thief_Bird/ (Arcade fun)
    - Megadimension Neptunia VIIR - https://store.steampowered.com…adimension_Neptunia_VIIR/ - (Gimmick, yet noting it here for curious)
    - Lotus Simulator - https://store.steampowered.com/app/370350/LOTUSSimulator/ - (Bus, trams, & Train simulator. Hefty price while incomplete, yet promising. Going to let it age like wine)

I guess out of all those I'll have to single out 'Swords of Gargantua' being the most awesome game of that bunch. I love how realistic it looks while actually taking advantage of the VR system.

    -----------

    - Survival Simulator:
    https://store.steampowered.com…01950/Survival_Simulator/

Even though it was going the way of a 'Scam" I'm still going to give this game the benefit of the doubt to see where it'll go. You'll be reacting to the world realistically that you'll be gesture-chopping trees down, climbing trees for bananas, while also being able to fish, find nodes, and build the Conan Exiles/Medieval Engineers prefab style. The developer regrets being silent so I'll give him a chance that he also noted that he desired to add 2 more islands (to make 3) that we'll be able to boat to explore things with plans for canibals on one, and caves on another.

I loved how I brought something up that he was encouraged to add more features into his game. If genuine, that is what I want to see! I want to see developers proud of their own product.

I'm aware we're to gain something NPC wise for Rising World while Survival Simulator was noted to get pet companions that we'll be able to mount bears. I suggested moose that we'll see what happens there, yet amused by the developers eagerness. 8)

If you guys want to move this thread to the mod discussion then you're free to do that.

    --------------------

I was recently given a .blender file of 'Shinki Renge' that I want to finally see about adding her into Rising World. I'm 100% serious about this that I hope we can give imported .blender files some sort of basic AI, or pre-defined Ai behaviours, that we can just plop them into a folder to give them some sort of life. I wish we could be given an option to turn humanoid objects into humanoid AI in Rising World that they would then behave accordingly in Rising World that when Bandit & pirate NPCs are added that something with that can be used to allow Renge here to be added into Rising World. It would also allow other people to add in their own humanoids into Rising World that you may or may not see a curious modding boom.

Someone sent me this that I would finally love to see her in my Rising World game by just roaming about, finding things at random (plugin wise), to assist in whatever way she can, while also being 15 in height. Following me, being "held", or whatever Rising World shall allow in the form of NPC transportation similar to how parrots sit on your shoulder in Minecraft.

If you guys can help me, I 100% need your help in this in adding Renge into Rising World while giving her basic AI to do something. When AI matures I shall eventually ask that she would find things via plugins at random, among other things. Even combat, though she won't really be effective at 15cm tall.

Also, With the Dummy NPC addition I "tried" adding Shinki Benio that she's not really 1:1. I would love to make her smaller as a 15 cm entity that I would later move her upstairs into my room on the second floor in 'Fox Tower'. She's standing in the lobby in my current build.

Compare the Benio image below with the Benio image in the attachment above this posting.

Need a samurai band and more hair options. I wish Rising World shall grow and mature to the point it would compete with Japanese Illusion +18 games such as Koikatu/Koikatsu, Haremate, and such. Not on the lewd part, but the customization & Studio part modding wise. I'm so CLOSE now! I just need to import Renge into Rising World then I can see her roaming about! Then we need the interactions and what makes her awesome.

What Avanar said. Dummy NPCs already in the game.

The way I would want NPCS would be a mix of what I saw in 'Dragon Quest Builder' and Minecraft modded 'MIllienaire mod'. It was said, by Red51, that he "planned" to add settlements with hireable merceneries that it would go similar to what's in Millienaire which we would have to wait and see it all laid out. We were to hire them, and that's that.

For how the NPCs should act in Rising World should be what's done in Dragon's Quest Builders where you build a home with requirements (bed, storage container, food in said storage container, chair & table, and 4 walls with a roof. DQB does this pre-determined, but it checks by seemingly assumingly scanning it against a blueprint that it would know what's solid and what isn't.

As for Millienaire mod, lessons could be taken away on how NPCs could behave and build that they could be given a set radius on what to build where that they can make their main town hall to then branch off from there. They would mine (even ghost mine, if necessary) to gain stone, ores, and such. They could however be seen farming and harvesting logs from tree farms. If Rising World was to borrow heavily from Millienaire mod it would be an excellent game.

I would love to just hop on to watch them build, or to even come back from a stressful day at work to see how they've progressed. Would be nice seeing them having built buildings, or even tell them where they could build with enough prestige. I just would love to see them build next to my own settlement that we could even get some building diplomacy going on by helping one another out while also laying out buildings the way it should.

the game is working just fine. only you dont get it to work. most likely because... *drums please* its a pirated version.

Bolding it because this is an issue purely for pirated versions, not the full version. Quoting Avanar because he is right. You're having this issue because it's pirated that if you want actual assistance you need to purchase the game. Again, no excuse for it being "expensive", or any of that nonsense. Watch Youtubers, watch Twitch players, or try it at a friends place. Ryosuke, you're ignoring posts so you're just making yourself look bad.

The world creating issue is purely a cracked version/pirated problem that the only way to solve it is to purchase the game. There's no two ways about it. Just buy the game and you'll see it works smoothly.

It's a sin to ask for help with a pirate version that nobody does it. Nobody with common sense posts they're having trouble with a pirated version. Only ignorant people. It's the highest level of insult to a developer.
