A new update (0.9.2) is available now!
Latest Hotfix: 0.9.2.1 (2026-05-13)

And something I mentioned in my previous posting about what the plan was 8| . Maybe I'm just going crazy.

But yeah, can't wait to see the raccoon finding various ways to get into people's chests to steal some food. You harvest tons of food so shouldn't be that much of an issue. Red51's idea which I want to see comically added into the game, among the things discussed here.

I am very curious about a rough estimate of water physics implementation.!!. Did anyone hear something?
I mainly and personally desire stuff that I cannot build in the game(collision, water physics, mechanical stuff, lighting etc).
We can build chairs, tables and all but it wouldn't be bad to have some added.!

Give it about 2 years, or so. Other things need to find its way in which shall lead into dynamic water, and all that much more. Still needing 1) Dungeons 2)player models & Customization 3) Horses, camels, & boats, 4) Cooking 5) minecarts & rail 6) anything else & beyond.

I'd say what I listed is being highly generous of giving each update a 2 month period to be made & polished. That's the average of how long (1 month, yet 2 is being respectful) that it gives you 12 months (1 year). Now, double that for the nitty-gritty details for swamps, volcanoes, jungles, & various other biomes. Even with electricity, pluming, among various other sorts of features listed on the features page. Yeah, from the rumours & plans that Red51 has mentioned pushes things to two years in the future.

*sighs* I feel majority of my posts have been missed that I'll of course receive those types of replies that people shall side with Zork. Not trying to be rude in replying back, nor attention seeking, but yeah. Guess it'll happen because newer information trumps all.

Did note that these things shall not to be expected, yet that's what suggestions are to keep improving things. Red51 simply wanted NPC Traders to have basic RPG elements. Basically Pokemon gameboy game style of moving in any direction, scripting patterns, conversation bubbles, and simple bartering. We're now (or loosely planned) into obtaining wandering merchants after the constant requests for NPCs in our world from myself & others.

Not sure where I noted that, if on here or the forum, yet it's now back on here. And I also agree that most of this should be vanilla as much as possible because my Minecraft worlds constantly kept getting wiped & corrupted from all the modding. I want it as much vanilla as humanly possible that there's really no frustrations to be had on mod side of things. Maybe even some sort of script to constantly weed out the modded stuff to replace it back with vanilla content, or similar. Some safeguards, even on NPC village side & such.

But hey, I hope the post above has been noted because I nearly lost it in time. No joke. I hope it doesn't go to waste.

Trading blueprints, yet needing the resources to build those blueprints should be the way to go. Treating blueprints as tradable recipes. Yeah. WOuld be sweet if we could learn recipes this way also by it having traded to us, being found, and such. Some would simply be off limits until a vendor, player, or someone else came across. Would even give servers the ability to limit & give access to specific types.

Learning from the settlements, bandits, merchants, among others.

    ----------------

Alright, bumping this thread because I want to make note of this train of thought, which I lost, to recently have regained is dealing with NPC Traders. It could deal with settlements, in a way, but this is more of what Red51 mentions of seeking player-made blocks.

Seeing as how Red51 mentioned we'll have a roaming merchant that it be wise for this merchant to have a coding of seeking out player-made structures, similar to how there's a code to find the 'most' human made blocks there to find your spawn. Just use the similar type coding of going from one chunk to the next (as quietly as possible), until this merchant calmly travels from one region to the next. From one settlement to the next. Even allowing to to go near dungeons, various NPC related settlements, among others. Even dungeons.

I'm also relating this to Skyrim with the roaming vendors there being 'Khajit Caravans' with them appearing in one settlement to the next. They're there one moment, gone the next. It be odd to see this in one settlements being vast in Rising World, yet be neat to see this merchant roaming both on foot, as well as in a horse & in vehicles.

    -------

    - Bonus: Any future vegetation could be bartered for (yet currency could also be a thing) by gaining access to corn, wheat, among numerous others. Even completed foods, like poutine, Won Ton soup, pizza, among other local & foreign foods of various points of interests. Even various teas, orange juice, tomato juice, watered down beer, wine, among other sorts. Red51 mentioned he wanted to tone down the food-related vegetation, thus this being a good way to go about it. That, and to steal such from bandits also whom steal from your chest also. Even having a Raccoon to spy in the manner of "Raccoon showed me how to drink maple syrup from a tree" (first nations style), type thing.

From the rumours I noted on Steam forums that the animals shall have their collisions reworks because of the dungeons update which shall carry over to the animals, from the monsters/hostiles. Not sure how true this is anymore because Red51 noted that dungeons shall be empty upon release, yet it was because of the dungeon update that it was supposed to be "two birds with one stone" type implementation. Once dungeons comes out there should be something there to keep the AI in place, yet Red51 shall have to surprise us.

I"m really wanting to start farming of animals so I can make use of the BBQ options we have, yet can't because animals are limited. I don't mind being a lettuce & brocolli lover, but I can't wait to start grilling fish if we can't farm animals any time soon. Fish & fishing shall be awesome. Same with keeping mussels & oysters contained in an area, yet allowing them to over-populate so you can harvest them.

But I do love this suggestion because it's needed, yet so is everything else at this point.

Makes me wonder how people would view having tipi's, and various other sorts of variations of this from around the world to choose from.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tipi

Bedouin tents, Mongolian tents, among others. There's many to make note of :). Should be sweet actually putting a chest in one as a mini-home, type thing. Rising World is sweet that way if it would allow us that option.

Yeah, everything listed here is in one manner or another coming.

    • Better animations of players may also translate to animals also.
    • stoves & Fireplace are also planned, yet my friend also desiring a modern kitchen type stove. Vortac is desiring variety of the kitchen tables.
    • glass doors is in high demand that I've even started requesting it. I'm sure we'll get it either way because of Red51, yet I'm now desiring such after my recent builds.
    • Showers would be connected with the whole piping & electronics later down the line.
    • Boats & a shipping system shall start around the time we get our player models & customization roughly around September. Can't wait.
    • Fish is another high demand request that it'll find its way in. How is yet to be seen, yet we'll see them.
    • vehicles (horses & etc): Horses, just like boats, shall be partnered up with camels (desert) to be your handy mount. You'll expect them to join the player model side of things around the September-October mark. Trains shall follow horses & camels, then cars/trucks after trains. It's a gradual progress upward which shall take time.
    • Bags & backpacks are touchy, yet they are the only thing not confirmed on here. I'd welcome them as a bonus, yet there's people wanting to force realism a bit too much that it's worrisome. We'll see.
    • Biomes? Such as swamps, volcanic areas, jungle & etc? Yeah, more of those are coming, yet they're also in high demand in requests. Can't wait for them to be added.
    • Rivers have also been requested, yet we'll see where that ends up. Heard they weren't playing fair & nice that they probably were kept out for that very reason.

But yeah, everything noted here is mostly confirmed. Minus the glass doors & bags, yet the rest are.

That's among the first [bucket & canteen] thing I tried when checking out this & every other update, yet having a sink to hold water would be a wise idea. Not expecting it to be fully functional, just having the ability to hold a gimmicky alternate size of a fresh water 'voxel'. And yup! Both drinking & canteen filling simply makes use of the block while not draining it. Handy.

Also agreed with pipes, yet they're confirmed for much later down the line that we'll have to wait many months for them. Something simple now, complex stuff later. The sink seems simple enough, just with a resized water block.

I love that idea! Colour coding buoys, and anything, is a good way to do things. People are then able to go a bit 'nationalistic' that they can say '"I own this, do not touch!" so that's a good way to do things. That, or have an agreed upon 'default' option for what people can go with, even saying it in the crafting option.

I've shared this before, yet hoping Red51 makes note of adding the boat in the foreground, as well as the row-boat (life-raft) style boat in the background. Would be sweet having both mechanical & manual type boats.

That, and to hold other players & your possessions. Both cargo & fish.

I simply kept to the idea of boats, yet did play around with fishing nets. I however do like the mention of fishing cages, yet you'll need diving suits for that. That, or a cage with a rope which you can pull up on a buoy when you get near it. Do hope that when we get around to fishing nets, cages, & lobster boxes that we'll find ourselves using diving suits to also harvest re-spawnable mussels & clams in the ocean. Yes, even in an infestations manner that you'll be able to use them as a food source. Maybe even to trade with NPCs of various sorts :)

This should be fun. Ah, how I can't wait for the player models & animations update so we can also get our horses. Even loving the idea of worms or bait. There's various ways of doing that.

From my previous numerous session I wanted to add onto this list by adding the following..........

    • Stepping Stones: Because this looks like shit - http://steamcommunity.com/shar…filedetails/?id=723475756 - that I wouldn't mind something fancier, yet I'd settle happily with gravel.
    • Glass Doors, Apartment doors & Dutch Doors: Basically something for being see-through for a 'porch' type thing, or something along the lines of a balcony. Sliding apartment glass doors, & even 'dutch' doors for one section being openable, and another not, for farming or decorational use. As a bonus, sliding 'doors' similar to closet types. [Glass door 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6; Dutch Door 1 & 2; Apartment Glass door 1, 2, & 3 'Folding Door'; Sliding Doors 1, 2, & 3] - (Note: Glass doors being priority suggestion)
    • Signs & Directional posts: To be able to edit them after being placed without removing. To even poke at specific facing sign without ruining anything else. http://steamcommunity.com/shar…filedetails/?id=723478042 - The '???" would easily be changed after with another fort's name on it.
    • Sinks to hold water: For now, sinks should get their own little treatment of how to handle water by you placing water in it in its own little size.
    • Water Placement [0.7.2 related request]: Water blocks should connect with water around them in a leveled manner. That, and they should detect solid blocks below them by flowing downward in their column, reaching out to that solid block, yet not expanding outward. When swimming, water should still somehow be placeable, or a workaround being from a boat, raft, or similar.
    • Player 'Auto-run': Having these in Skyrim, Phantasy Star Online 2, Euro Truck Sim 2, & American Truck Sim would be awesome to have such a feature in this game. After having been annoyed by the amount of time it took to travel 1000x1000 on my pathway I would have enjoyed it if I had auto-run to ease the pain of holding both Shift & W. Pressing C & C again should allow for control, controlled running, as well as a third to disable such. With the horse & camel this should play different with a 'throttle' type gauge to keep horses & camels going at a steady pace, refusing to run when you push them above an 'extreme' mark.

Alright, those are my suggestions after playing for a few sessions again. I'm finding new things I haven't encountered before, yet thought these important enough to mention. Damn, I'm exhausted from my session.

    - Rising World - Niska Village [0.7.2]: Good To Be Home!

    - Home:
I, once again, have more images thanks to Vortac's server hiccuping every now and again that I hopped onto my own world to further push the completion of my home in Niska Village. Happily now have a proud home to call my home fully, as well as being highly functional. Happily inserted a kitchen with food stored within, as well as finally make a sleeping area on the top floor for myself. I love making complex builds to be proud of in the long run, to the dismay of my friend. I have a nice fancy kitchen (awaiting an oven), option to display food, as well as having placed my waifu Bismarck (from KanColle) up in my room in my home. I love my home  I now need a fancier bed. This? It has storage in it also heh.

    Roadway:
Also made a roadway leading form Niska Village to 'Fort Zura' (I searched up the meaning at random - Zura) wishing I could mass-produce dirt & stone-like 'gravel' to make my roads on the quick & cheap. It appears nice when used, yet far too little available. With the distances I'm now traveling I really am being impatient, yet patient, about desiring & needing a horse. I really need a horse, yet waiting on player animations & customization. I can wait, but only till August & all irritated by September. That, or needing 'auto-walk' on your character, Skyrim & 'PSO2' style. Usially 'C' or 'V' key.

    Fort Zura:
Finding out that 'loam' is compactt dirt into blocks, I desired to burn through the storage chests of it to build 'Fort Zura' out of it. Overjoyed I can put dirt to good use by building my fort out of it. A fort built out of 'loam' to colonize a forested patch south of Niska Village, gradually even leading into a mountainous Savannah area. It shall be an important stop leading to the mountainous Savannah, even the nearby pine forest with maple trees & a surreal mountainous area. I'm planning to add a 'touristy' type tower [Maybe this, or maybe this in an enlarged state] nearby to oversea the pine forest surrounding it, as well as view the mountain nearby. Main purpose of the fort, again, being to lay claim of maple tree zone, safety zone to & from Niska, as well as a source of resource.

    -------

    - Side-Note:

    • I want to smash stone to get gravel in some manner. Maybe using the hammer, or whatever. Something......
    • Signs are awkward that I'd love to edit the specific face on the sign posts (image 8 after having placed it. I do however love & have learned how to use colour font on these directional signs. Shall use them more often.
    • Wishing to display food on the counter tops. Both on the counter tops & tables. I'll wait it out, yet the impatience is gradually growing each time I discover something new in this game. It's amazing what I'm still discovering, even after the update has released. New ways of using things.

    -----

I can't either. The more I expand my horizons in Rising World the more I'm needing & desiring the use of a horse. Minecraft also spoiled me with their addition that I simply travel greater distances. I'll get either one, yet I personally prefer horses, more so thanks to their customization options. I'll probably have a camel as a 'rent-able' unit.

    1) I can't wait for player models & customization so we can get horses, boats, among others. Because of them we can have others. I really want my horses, and I'm slowly unable to wait much longer that I may have to force Rising World into a hiatus to stay sane.

    2) Animal collision needs to be done so I can look into containing them, breeding them, and even farming them.

    3) Oh, how I can't even wait for jungles, swamps, volcanic, and more types. There's tons missing, even for the water-side. Islands, bigger oceans, and etc. I'd love to boat through a swamp, weed wack my way through a jungle, among others. We'll probably face another terrain issue, yet hoping that'll be sorted in a friendlier manner. WHen these get added I really shall need gravel enmass to travel to these safely. More sign posts, and etc.

    4) Lighting is indeed needing work, as I've seen my buddy Nas (nighthawk) trying to keep my pathway lit. It was all wonky that it didn't shine a proper solid light. Everything about this needs fixing that I'd love him to get to it whenever he's humanly able. Don't pull a 24 or 48 hour withou sleep, Red51!

    5) Oh, how I'd love trains to connect my settlemts, and to shuttle goods enmass to & from areas. I've been studying the terrain that I'll need power tools first to then make pathways for trains to travel through. I'll build Roman style by making the terrain conform to my standards of keeping a train track straight. Can't even wait for boats so I can try sailing from one 1000x1000 ocean to the next 1000x1000 connecting one another, even hoping oceans become further enlarged to a massive 20,000x20,000 range with islands within. It'll change in full release to everything being in an ocean dotted with biome islands & continents with various biomes.

With that, I can't even wait for when ADMIST or Google Maps style external extensions are able to read from Rising World & save files to preview your world, similar in Minecraft. Someone needs to make a script for that.

Sweet! Glad you're loving it. I have more progress images, and I've been considering how to do another episode. I've been meaning to do another celebration video soon, yet wondering how to drop you guys in & to share the fun. There's just been so much fun to be had, if with tons of grinding & moaning from all the minding heh. Even went exploring straight west to spy a Savannah biome which also turns into a mountainous Savannah biome. Waiting on horses & camels to be able to share that one, or boats :)

Glad you're loving it! I have more images to share. Hope you'll be looking forward to a 'plausible' video incoming. I'll drop you some images of my progress so far, yet need to figure out how to do the next video.

Also, must thank Vortac for allowing me on his server. Thanks to his server I now want to hunt down maple trees for my Niska Village. That, and to replicate my home style from there for further colonization in my world. I'm even considering following Vortac's tested & proven method of inviting people once I can justify owning a dedicated private server using similar manners to him. Nice stuff all around

    -------------------------

    - [0.7.2] Niska Village: Building My Home:

I left my home sitting thanks to various other projects that on my lone session I decided to clear out some of the canal to use as materials to build up my home. A place to finally call 'home', as well as have a place to go to, instead of my 'hotel-style' 'Niska HQ' with the farm. I even went exploring around the western ocean (more like a lake) that I've stumbled across a lovely savanah biome, as well as some lovely forested areas. I'll need to colonize the mountain. Instead of just making a fort along the northeastern side ocean (seen in my videos), I also have to expand directly west now. So many lovely biomes.

I need some fort designs I'll be able to build with ease. Something quick & easy to put out because I can no longer do major builds until power tools & such comes in heh. My friend is pissed off with me while finding Rising World "boring" because of the scale of my builds of mine & how boring Rising World is when you're digging mountains for small various builds that we're requesting the mining drill. Shifting to easier builds, thus my home. Yes, we can wait till August & September :whistling:

[Note: Last three images of my 'fancy' home on 'Vortac's server'. All experimental. Thanks for the invite! First of the three is a tree getting 'stuck' on the top, the stairway, and my home :)]

Yeah, I forgot where I read it but dungeons shall be empty, yet animals at the least shall have collision detection. I guess Red51 might be considering chunk checking to find these dungeons for reverse spawn generation. I hope he does this for horses also to find a good sized area of the map to then load both dungeon mobs & horses into pre-existing worlds. You never know.

Was rushed in my posting again that I wanted to add onto my previous post one saying that I of course approve of the advancement from primitive tools to pickaxe, and mining drills, to mining vehicles. That's a given. Any progressive progress like that is much welcomed & waiting for such.

But yeah, players need to be kept on edge just so they have a reason & purpose in the world. Again, for the stupid crap I've seen of people saying "This game is boring because there's nothing to do", yet they play in creative, and only creative. Their loss being our gain though, and hopefully this push for more assertive mobs should hopefully help in immersion. Not 'Forest' type where they hunt you, stalk you, and blow crap up, yet the one where they simply roam about, even attracted to certain items, objects, and such. One being Wolves to farm animals, or birds to food out in the open. That, or bandits becoming aware of your wealth that they would seek out your base that you might want to recruit some NPCs, or just have players on guard.

Some fun builds would happen in these various ways :)

Damn it, I've been sidelines again & we now turned this into 'us vs them' stuff.

Nah, more like people need to be kept on edge by needing to be pushed to build shelter. That, and it adds a bit of "story" which people keep whining these games don't have. Your story is told through how you survived, you telling them on these forums, then having adapted & surprassed these. Basically becoming the 'First Nations', Vikings, or whichever of your land having learnt from your past experiences. Similar to Minecraft mobs, the same can be said for Rising World mobs.

Whatever we get, we need to be put on guard to stay interested. I felt a nice sense of morale boost when I could loot some Knights in Minecraft, something we need from bandits in Rising World whom would attack us, or some roaming dungeon mini-boss with other goodies. Something Enderman should have been, yet Mojang can't implement what they want.

I hope this short term server lasts at least a year, or so. Just long enough to see the transition to player models, and the like. I entered the survey so we'll see how things goes, and if I do have time & when picked in the next following waves, I'll see what I can do. I'll try to do some small clever builds here & there, if possible.

Also, the U-Shape design would help heh. Would be sweet to see if, and how you would handle such designs. Those buildings indeed went up, and your fellow people made quite a mess with the stone. Damn. I at least try to make mine appear tidy heh. Little caverns here, little caverns there. Simple tunnels, and such that can be turned into builds. At least seeing sweet builds :)

Can't wait for more of your eps. I need a 'good day' to record mine again. Either too humid or something stupid happening. At least I can chill in these games.

Oceans could stand to be much bigger. I think Red51 had some disagreements with making oceans massive like they are in Minecraft but the way its implemented now makes it feel more like a very large lake with a beach than a real ocean. But that aside, some irregularity to the shape would be nice. But considering that rivers and streams and swamps still haven't been implemented, I'm imagining that we will see more water updates in addition to the dynamic water update.

Not sure where you got the disagreement from because when I talked to him he seemed open to having oceans as large as the ones Minecraft originally had (30,000 M), if at least in a loose functional manner. He was open to it, more so because of boats & animals, or maybe that's just being formally polite. ?( But I do agree the way oceans are now makes them feel like lakes, not oceans. If I have to make a canal then it's not an ocean.
