Well....I did mention I wanted to host a private server for the water update before the water update arrived. Trying to find a 'fuss-free' server option that I've even considered buying some sort of random 'box server' on my end or something to host my Rising World. Problem is, I don't know which route to take because it's just me & my friend, and there's really no 'Minecraft Realms' style option to 'Rising World' for simplicity of hosting. Only the overly handy 'Open Lan' versus the complicated Linix Linode option that I"m aware of.

I did check out Vortac's mention of GTX Gaming - https://www.gtxgaming.co.uk/ - yet highly unsure about this. I"m unsure about everything because, again, looking for a 'no fuss' moment of just setting up a server then having it go. No linux bullcrap for Linode, just straight up hosting. I guess I have to wait for around evening for when I can actually 'process' all this information.

It appears that I may have to wait until dungeons, along with player models & player customizations to come out to even do a dedicated private server at this rate. I don't really know anything (server) or anybody trustworthy (actually interested in jumping on), yet wouldn't mind the $10, or so monthly just for me & my friend in Rising World.

It's just me being highly uncertain and to allow my friend to play when I'm unable to. Maybe someone else, if anybody trustworthy pokes me for access (basically talking to one another).

Oh? I counted oceans to be oval shaped 1000 by 1000 which is a horrible way to do oceans. More like 5-15,000 for proper oceans please. My 'Poi!' seed has 'O' oceans connecting one another forming connected landmass peninsulas wondering how many times it's going to do that.

Thanks for your very helpful information. Going through them now :)

Ya, thus me just pinning the blame on typical Youtube behavior with that one person hating on Yuudachi . Thanks for your feedback also, and I think I"ll just say that I saw a perfect window to record that I just winged episode 4 without any retakes. I recently woke up to then jump on & then record soon after. Always trying to find that 'perfect zone' to record is a troublesome bit. Episode 3 frustrated me a hell of a lot when I kept fumbling & stumbling on my wordings that I cursed & had to redo the whole thing again 4 times. Recording ain't easy.

And I shall, if anyone dares to speak up

    - [0.7.1 & 0.7.2] Niska Village:

Not an episode, yet just a progress log in image form of both my canal & Canadian Tower. Been such a busy Thursday & Friday that both me and Nas' just went all out on clearing a Canal to then haul the goods to make my Canadian Tower for Canada Day. Barely made it functional, yet not fully in 9 floors because of how long it takes to do anything in Rising World. It's not like with Minecraft where you can just build stuff that my 'Canadian Tower' actually took care & precision to make it pleasing. I had to save it a few times while improvising here and there many times. I even gave it a lovely stairway, something the Minecraft version doesn't have.

    - Niska Canal:

Similar to Ottawa's Canal, yet not originally inspired by such, going to allow traffic from one 'O' shaped ocean to another 'O' shaped 1000x1000 m ocean. This is basically being built ahead of time in anticipation for when we receive boats in August-September timeframe with player models & player customization. Just as we're going to get horses for land, I'm trying to plan ahead with boats for ocean also. That, and I seem to be ready for mini-submarines also. I'm also going to fill in this canal when we get an appropriate behaving water filling function to match the water level layer with the ones nearby, plus reaching down its column until it hits a solid block.

A wooden boat, canoe, or a papyrus boat should be fine that I can make plans to make a dockyard for this canal. That, and three bridges at one side, the other side, and then the middle. Thinking of having it loop back slightly to then cross over the canal allowing a railway & horse to travel over it. Trying to future proof it just enough, even knowing of dynamic water.

Me & my friend (Nas) constantly wishing we would have the powertools, one of which I shared in ep 3, so we could dig this faster & more efficiently. There were numerous brief moments where I wanted my diamond pickaxe from Minecraft, yet that simply turned to just getting the job done. Constantly shifting tasks. We both were exhausted on both Thursday & Friday from all that digging.

    ------

    - 'Canadian Tower' (Canada Day Patriotism & Minecraft Inspiration):

Tried to bring something more personal from Minecraft into Rising World, yet had to improvise & improvise heavily because of Rising World logic. It's simply a 'status symbol' to show I"m Canadian in Minecraft's Arcticu City brought to Rising World's Niska Village aimed purely for Canada Day. I even have some images from Minecraft posted up in the tower, yet shall be located appropriately on various floors when I build all 9 floors. Stuck on third floor currently. I couldn't 'cheat' by outright spamming red & white tinted glass to cover the walls that I had to go with red & white plaster + standard clear glass & frames. Tried even tilting the frames for the added bonus of having sideways windows. It's amazing how much effort I had to put into this build just to get three damn floors built, or readied. All that just in one damn day using heavy amount of resources also showing why I love how survival mode forces you to improvise on the go by making you use the resources you have the most to build the most. I'm gradually feeling more pride the more I struggle that it gives off it's own personality.

I even added a standard stairway in the middle to allow you to walk to the next floor, and the other. Doubt this shall see the time when elevators shall be added, yet I'm sure I can modify it to have one on the outer edge. This tower has a nice view in all 8 sides. North, South, East, & west, and all in between. The beach, the mountain nearby, Niska itself, among others. It's a premium location.

    ---------------

Big Note: I was going to stream [Twitch: Subtrance] my Canada Day special, yet never did because of some issues that prevented me from doing. Never did, nor did I Youtube. With how long it took to build my Canadian Tower it would have been a boring stream. Barely anything was getting done anyways. I had to push my session till 11:20 pm-ish to get it all set up before Canada Day was over.

Yeah, I've been needing one for a long while now, yet that Stephen Harper bit was also uncalled for when I tried staying neutral 0_o. I really do need a chill pill, yet that's so hard to come across. I didn't mention anything politics, yet someone had to go there ;(

Hopefully it'll be directional & regional. That would add another realm of immersion. The weather vane would help predict where any 'low front' (rain, snow, thunder & etc) would be coming on. Fog itself would be near water & such.

    Also try [ quote] [/quote] :)

A lucky guess, yet a necessary one....Been of great help :)

    --------------

But ya, I wanted to renote that we need the water from the bucket to level with the other water around it + stretch until it hits a solid block underneath. You should be able to see it leveling with other water blocks + seeing a prediction of where it's going to 'flow' to the bottom. I just want to be able to use a bucket to fill one block in a column fashion to hit down to the very bottom of a solid block, or even see where you have air pockets that you can fill afterward. You can't really clear them out, more so in a massive project. Water needs to be user friendly because once boats come I'm going to predict others are going to make crazy canals and water ways. Better have that sorted by this coming August or September. Whichever you decide to release them boats on with the player stuff.

Secondly, I found it amusing that we now need a kitchen egg timer to count down how long you have left on various cookings to then notify you when your smelting, BBQ, & etc is done. The ore for furnaces, the BBQ, and similar for the future. It should register things nearby, or be manually dialed to tick.

Thirdly, we need regional weather later down the line to load up in specific player-spawned chunks to be active in some chunks, yet not active in another. To basically be treated as an entity roaming the world to be as big & small as needed. Basically seeing dark clouds on the horizon inching closer, sideways, or further away as you worry if you'll be poured on, thundered, or snowed on. I say this after having observed the clouds when digging away at my canal with nothing else to entertain my mind. I really want to see weather being regional, somewhat unpredictable, and even random. Basically taking one player off-guard while another one hears of the news as it happens & those hearing it later. It be fun hearing how someone needed an umbrella while another sees it in the distance in the sky, yet others would get different POVs of it.

Fourth, and last, should be tinted glass to decorate with. I don't mind waiting for this after player customization & such, yet it be sweet if we could finally create legit glass, plus being able to customize them to be red, white, blue, dark black, or whichever. Maybe even one-way. When building my 'Canadian Tower' I was struggling heavily with placing glass that it needs more expansions in the future of customization abilities & options.

    --------

Out of all these I want to see #1 with the water so I can properly fill my canal while seeing the water hit the solid bottom without tedious fiddling. I have myself to blame for making a canal, yet I tried tools in creative which didn't help me any.

Wow....Just wow......I didn't want to dig into politics because it ruined the mood over at Victory Belles forum that I'm even afraid of visiting there. I ruined the mood over there because I wanted more spotlights on Canadians, the Dutch, Russians and Etc when everything is always blindly USA based. Got told off for being too proud in the same manner Americans are, but wow......This Steven Harper comment...... :S

Sorry, but I view Justin Trudeau as a same piece of crap as Justin Bieber, Sydney Crosby & Lewis Hamilton. All attention seeking pimps that they make for good playboys for fangirls & fanguys to scream with. That, and politics is all the same crap anyways that you're still getting garbage from Trudeau as you claim with Harper in that implied manner.

Also, we did get two heavy storms. The latter being MUCH stronger than the former with a nice natural light show going on. It dampened all the fireworks mood where I"m at, yet my friend on the east end got some fireworks fun. Canada Day this year being all that lackluster, yet awesome on the weather side. Nice dark-as-night thundering heh.

But ya, thanks. Hope you all have had a nice Canada Day! If a wet one on the east side of Canada. Those nice thunderstorms  . The highlight of this 2016 Canada Day being the dark-as-night second thunderstorm & my Niska Village gaining a Minecraft Tower. I'll share more of these in the appropriate thread later.

Ya, Rising World is still new so it hasn't gotten around to doing performance polishing. That is something I'd expect Red51 to do much later when everything has been added into the game. It's something Red51 wants to do, yet is troublesome when you're constantly adding in new code and features into the game that we'll have to wait until 'post-beta' (when games to gold) type thing. That, or he might find something even in mid to late beta that any performance issues could be fixed then, unless sooner if a real problem.

I am very curious about the rail tracks/terrain placement as well.Being a voxel game,it would make sense if tracks would follow every bump and hill but from the other hand,I think they will look peculiar.Rails of War mod for minecraft had a good concept about uphill/downhill tracks and such. That would make them pretty realistic while could smoothly go up and down.15,30,45 degree slopes would be great in my opinion. With placement,it would automatically add a neutral color slope under the tracks and can be painted with the available paint tool textures(dirt, gravel etc).Just imagining how can it possibly be.I dont know how Red thought about it but I am pretty sure he will create them the best way possible.
I can imagine a flatbed car loaded with crates, barrels rolling down the hill.A livestock car loaded with animals for translocation,If we could lure them in with wheat or a carrot or something. It will be just sick!!
Like ArcticuKitsu mentioned" 2 blocks wide for minecarts & 4 for trains will be neat".Thats exactly what I imagined as well.Hopefully the trains will have a realistic size compared to the player. Also, minecarts will look awesome and with 2 block width,it will be a good size too.

Constant curiousity that it hurts & pains Red51 he can't discuss this with us because the moment he did would be the moment we would be whining like the trolls about water. He doesn't want to promise anything, more so when I keep logs of what he said on this forum :P

Two wide for Minecarts is indeed nice that it makes things highly smooth. 1x1 is tiny, yet 2x2 is nice and wide [tunnels] for minecarts. We would be making wider tunnels & ways to go, though. That, and 4 wide is again reasonable. I'm constantly wondering if Red51 shall give us all those train cargo cars, or if he'll give us some generic ones to dump everything in; If he'll lock some to a certain type. Liquid storage cars shall be a big thing to add for the drinking water, oil, and fruit/veggie guices (apple & orange juice).

There's so much fun to be had with train side of things :). But first, Horses & boats!

Kind of late because I've been busy experimenting last night then building my canal & starting work on my 'Canadian Tower' today. Spammed it all on Steam gallery just now. But ya, I'm loving the new big furnace being able to smelt more ores this time around. That, and finally fueling it to keep it running. Lumber being a good 5 value & coal being a good 40 value that you can smelt happily. Finally a nice use for the coal & lumber. Being able to also re-fill the canteens is a nice sweet touch. Don't have to worry about being thirsty that much longer.

Opening the fuel hatch has a nice vibe & immersive feel to it that I love it. It however has me wondering what's stopping people from just jumping onto that from the get-go. They could skip the small furnace, primitive types, to just get to the big one.

Also, can't wait for the cooking update either because I want to populate my 'kitchen' area of my Niska HQ with a good oven, or something. Just a nice fridge, oven, & any accessories for cooking, eating, and such. ANy restaurant type interior decoration. Feeling flat right now.

    ------------

Also loving the conversation about the rails for minecarts & trains. 2 blocks wide for minecarts & 4 for trains is neat. My pathways are already 5 wide so I could see 4 wide being a nice touch for steam, diesel, electric and the like. Can't wait to see how you treat trains, and if the tracks shall follow the terrain or not. If it'll mold itself to each bump & curve of the terrain, or if they'll behave more like planks.

Thanks for allowing me to reach 40 views on episode 3! Sadly, it came with a thumbs down that I'm going to blame it on it being "Typical boring Youtube" mentality. I think it's because I mentioned Yuudachi with people being brainless about either being blindly in love with her or blindly hating her that there's no middle ground. It's a real shame people have to be stupid like that. Hope we can just get along without picking silly sides.

    - Rising World - Niska Village: Ep 4 - [0.7.1 & 0.7.2 Updates]

Finally managed to find the time to record this episode 4 that I can now happily cover & ramble on about both small, yet necessary updates. Happily messing with the buckets, scaffoldings, canteen, how to use the scaffolding, & mentioning the big furnace. It's all lovely and awesome. That, and preparing to build my canal & the 'Canadian Tower' from my Minecraft world brought into Rising World.

Hope you enjoy, and hope you'll keep me afloat  I want to cover more updates & such while learning lessons from previous episodes.

Wow....Silent Hunter 3 is now $5 on sale 8| . Well, hope people buy it then because it's the best naval game out there with no equal. That's no joke! I wish people made more open world naval games like SH3.... UBOOT is trying to be like that, yet Sims style, yet I feel it slipped trying to be too realistic. I feel they even have some arrogance issues also, but ya.

Glad you got Silent Hunter 3 while also bringing up the movie 'Das Boot' being the best war movie also. You know the industry is suffering heavily when SH3 & Das Boot are the best & with no equal. Damn, are people horrible.

And ya, 4x4 would be nice. Anything would be nice. I'm used to seeing Tatra trucks when in Slovakia that I'd be amused to see them in Rising World. There's a higher chance because this game is European heh.

If this one isn't in then that's fine, but as supershanks said that it would promote trade on servers. You even hauling good to NPC villages, among other places. All in between settlements heh. Seeing as how I can truck in ETS2 & ATS, I could do so easily in Rising World. People probably might turn Rising World into a trucking world. Imagine having to fulfull jobs for people & NPCs where you can get daily timed requests & such in that NPC Trader manner, yet having it seen being used in the area.

When NPC Traders come along I'd be amused if when the NPCs ask for melons that you would then see them eat the melons, store then, and just move them around their settlement. If fish, then you'd see them cooking fish :). It would go into their inventory/chests, then they would play with it.

Looks like someone is all hyped up. You left us all hanging then you suddenly have this furnace update all ready to be viewed that I find it oddly amusing. I'm loving how you can open up the hatch at the back to put the lumber & coal back there. It goes by 1 unit per insert, yet it's neat how you can just insert it. Lumber was 1 unit & coal being 40 while it ticks down roughly every 10 seconds? Hard to tell right now because I tried to put myself back into the loop. But it's neat addition & a neat video. I managed to now smelt a nice good stack of resources each 5 minutes, or so. A nice stack of 10 ingots, or so. Many more to go that I now need to spend it on horse iron armor, or even railway. Something iron-based :whistling:

I may need to make a separate smelting area just for this smelter now in my Niska Village. That, and I"ll use this over the tiny one in other forts & settlements. A new standard furnace that it'll sadly push away the mini one. Makes you wonder how to balance it out because people shall go straight for this big one.

Also, forgot to mention, that I also had the ghost ore issue on my open lan session with my friend that I had to keep restarting the server. The ore would smelt, yet it would be both raw & ingots at the same time when done that when you'd harvest it would just clog up the furnace forcing you to restart the session. It got irritating that we stopped doing it until things were stable again. Have to test this on my Thursday & Friday. THanks Red! Thanks Vortac for the video :)

Silent Hunter 3 is only $10 Canadian so just go ahead and buy it. It's an old 2006 game, yet it still holds true, strongly, and proudly that it puts all the modern naval games to shame.

It's thanks to my friend pushing me to play ETS2 MP that I was able to learn how to reverse. Not the best, yet gradually getting better that I may go through my livestream highlights from Twitch to post onto my Youtube sometimes next week. I have Thursday & Friday off that it'll all go into Rising World, yet sometimes next week I'll try and go through my Twitch streams saved on my external to get blurry visuals of how I behaved on Silent Hunter 3, ETS2, & even ATS. That's going to take ages to convert & splice :/

Yeah. Well, good luck on ETS2, and have fun with American Truck SIm also. Reversing is a fun one. Again, makes me wonder if Red51 shall give us box trucks, and/or trailer trucks to mess about with in the future. I would love to haul Minecraft goodies for a long while between settlement to settlement heh. If I can befriend more & get a dedicated private server going I'd love to invite people to join me in my (survival) world.

Nice! Yup. I forgot to mention Silent Hunter 3 with you able to choose any sub, go to any grid, and attack in whatever manner you'd like. I love it. I love these type of freedom games. Lego Worlds is neat, yet it isn't as functional as Minecraft, nor Rising World, in its 'survival' elements. Lego World I want to hold up also yet it's more arcade that I prefer Rising World fun. Wish Flight SImulator X had Euro Truck Sim & ATS type progression. You just hop in, fly, and that's it. The missions isn't where it should have gone.

I wish there was a game developer out there inspiring from Silent Hunter 3 to make an open-world free-roaming surface ship game. Work your way up the surface ships to eventually get bigger & better vessels. It's a shame people are too afraid, lazy, or lacking the funds & skill for such.

I simply love ETS2 & ATS for both the freedom & how you have to progress by building your funds & your base of operations. That, and customizing your trucks heh.

This is where we differ. If someone's post is too lengthy and convoluted or if the grammar is so bad that it takes too much effort to comprehend then I just move on to the next discussion. I'm not wasting any more effort to be confrontational with anyone. I'm only responding to you on this because I already know you a little.

I leave a simple comment then you get a bit feisty. *pours water on Fox*. But ya, that's what we're doing. Just moving on.

But ya, that's usually the way to do it. That, and loving people's ideas of turning the journal into an 8bit RPG type map. That would actually work nicely, and in a more immersive way than Journey map in Minecraft. Google map style maps should be left to in game PCs & modern tablets.

That, and curious what this update we're getting shall be. Must be that rake fix, among others hmm. I hope it's also the open Lan related issues of ores & ingots clogging up the furnace. THat's been a real pain in the rear.

Alright, here's a few more images to share from after episode 3 & before episode 4 showing the progress in Niska Village. Guess I'm spoiling the fun for ep 4, yet I could always add that much more to it. Hope people enjoyed ep 3, yet now waiting for Thursday to record & upload ep 4 with the stuff from the previous session. Yes, I'm on the 'late' side, just wanting to have my video saturate the community before jumping to the next one. Wanting to make sure the videos are worthwhile and not wasted.

In the order the images appear:

    • Making a pleasant viewpoint viewing outward towards a planned park area, also doubling as my tree farm.
    • The scaffolding can be used for mining deep underground where iron & ores appear above you, becoming harder to reach the higher they are.
    • Making more room by flattening the area, building out the roadways, and even observing trees grow for science (4 hrs & 59 min). Was wanting to cut trees while trying to keep them scenic appearing also. Willow trees & any food growing tree also being off limit because they're also scenic.
    • Having to terraform so much dirt that I have two chests full of dirt for future use. Needing to make my home finally that I now made it in 'L' fashion.
    • My friend's simple home with fancy lights popping up everywhere. We both now have homes to call our own while allowing both his & mine room for expansion.
    • Frame-work my my simple little home in Niska Village. It shall be multi-storied, hopefully with stairs & even everything you'd expect in a home this time. Trying to plan ahead properly.
    • Nas (Nighthawk) putting up modern street lights on our roadway to make them far more visible & pleasing during the night. Torches can only do so much. You can also see the unblurred night sky. nice!
    • Relating back to #3 with me finished the experiment of trees growing for 5 hours to also gain a nice wooden harvest. Shall pop up a forestry related building in time to hold all the wooden related stuff for easier organization. Saplings, logs, among other things.
    • Niska Village after some polishing & with both mine & my friend's home placed. Can't wait to have more of my buddies visit, even regulars, yet still seeking out some dedicated server stuff to keep semi-private, if somewhat public.

Yup. Not bad. I still need to give Niska HQ its second floor, stairs, as well as giving it some other room functions. That, and to even further build up my home so I can actually live in there. Can't wait to build some stables, vehicle garages, a dockyard, a canal, and of course various Forts and towers following the ocean around. A nice pathway leading around the ocean to then round its way back towards Niska Village. Now, can you see why I would want those 'stepping stones' & a horse for my world? There's so much to do that I can now do such for both Thursday & Friday. Should be fun.

Hope you enjoy & thanks for following! There's obviously more to come. Even trying to learn more unique building styles, some of which I have learned from Vortac, Goolging, and seeing people proudly post their server tours and such. See you in Ep 4!

you're very welcome, @ladylightning. We need more variety in leave patterns that I also wanted to line my main roads with red maple trees, or something. Maybe even planning ahead with seasons where trees might alternate that I'd have the second tree for summer & every first one for autumn type thing.

    - Maple Tree in autumn.

It's all up to Red51 with how he wants to do seasons, colours on trees, and such. Once we have a stable game also I'd happily make a main road(s) for Arcticu City with this maple tree, or even alternate per season that one season you'd see Sakura trees & another season you'd see maple trees. Even purple Crab Apple trees during the mid summer range. If I can't have red Maple trees then I'd simply go with what I saw in Cuba.

    - Royal Poinciana:

The same tree I've seen in Cuba in the 'Varadero' area in the below image. If we can get this kind of big tree in the same size in the game that would be awesome & epic. I'd happily try farming for more that I'd wish & hope it would drop two saplings at a high spawn rate.

There's so many neat things Rising World could add in the nature side :)

    -------------------

    Edit:

While now ID'ing that tree I saw in Cuba I also came across another naturally purple tree from Cuba again.

    - Jacaranda:

Rising World should be beautiful when we're done with it
