I still believe that biomes should have been added to the game before ores. Why ? Because a world's appearance is first and foremost above all else . The world is where everything happens. Certain ores and minerals are normally found in certain biomes. Like Gold is found in riverbeds , Coal, Silver and other minerals are often found in mountain ranges, Other minerals are sometimes found in deserts and swamps and still others in high mountain regions. That is why I feel biomes should have been written first. Things like Volcanoes, Geysers , Swamps ,Artic zones should be added , Then the ores and materials can be added later on.

EDIT: Seems like I posted this in the wrong thread . Sorry

    HI,
I would like to suggest the following things for the next update. They are fairly minor and easy to do.

    1. When you create a world and select Creative mode, it should do the same thing as Setgametype 1 in the command prompt. Instead of having to type it in every time you start the world. (it could change the mode in the database.)

    2. Add a "home" command (instead of typing goto #spawn)

    Bug report:
The confirm box on delete world does not go away it you hit "yes" it sometimes stays on the screen but the world is deleted (especially if you just quick tap it.)
We still sometimes fall through the world if we go back to setspawn if we are not in flight mode.

Some animals still stick their heads through a wall and walk in mid air. Funny but not a major problem.

Rabbits and foxes run in slow motion if you turn off animal aggression.

This is an absolute must! There is no need to get everything back, but to AT LEAST get some of it back would be a more satisfying experience. It is frustrating to painstakingly set up a structure only to realize something didn't align right and when you take it down to change it, you get nothing back.

Unless you are working on a server without admin access you can get what you need through the command prompt in creative mode , that is why it is there , the game is still in alpha. So use your "Magic Wand" :)

    Houser ,
There are a whole bunch of survival games out there . I chose this one because it is unique . You will do whatever you want. If all you want to do is hack and slash , eventually that is what you can do , If you want to build a great city or fill an endless world with roads or horse trails , you will be able to do that too, and if you just want to walk in the woods , well you can do that too.

If you are looking for a completed game there are a lot to choose from, This game is the ONLY one that will be selective and that is what makes it unique. You wont beat the graphics either. I hope this game goes the distance . It will be the greatest thing if it does . You can play it alone or set up a server to play it your way with your friends, and that makes it all worth while . All of us want different things from rising world and I am willing to bet that red51 gives us most of what we want, either through mods or scripts, Ill bet we will get stuff. We will see .

This has really turned out to be a great game. As for now I am waiting for the rest of the world to be completed (biomes and water ) I have seen water used in the game engine that rising world is using so I know it can be done. It has been fun building tunnels and experimenting with various blocks. I a m basically going to wait now until this gets further along.

Some of the things that rising world needs (sooner rather then later )

    1. Biomes and Water
This is probably what we need first. The trees , mountains and grass are great but we do need changes of scenery. Since basically these are just textures (the land generation is already in ) this should not take too long the change the appearance of the land. Water is a given here.

    2. Some type of procedurally generated Small towns or villages ( if the players want them )
These worlds are huge, we are going to need something when we start out. Since animals are already in a few simple NPC's and buildings will be needed.

    3. An optional Monetary and trade system (If players want them ).
Servers are nice but they go up and down all the time and no one knows how long they will be around.

    4. A place to share Single player worlds.
It would be nice for a place to upload copies of your worlds. the world files do not seem to be too large right now..

    5. The following inventory items should be in your starting inventory

Pick, Axe , Compass, and clock .

    6. We should not lose our entire inventory when we die. Most other games do not do this.

I think things are coming along great so far. Looking foreword to the future.
    These are just suggestions.

This game is getting better and better. Except those killer bears. :) I'm like Trillnar and a crafter, so a bear calming option would be really well received here.

Do you mind telling me how you did this please. Sounds like a plan until we get the pacifier option .

BTW I've just about become vegetarian in this game. Can't bring myself to kill a pig, the cries it makes are so disturbing. The rabbits are fantastic so no way can I kill them. I think I'll have to look forward to bear meat when it arrives. :)

You will need an SQL editor ( I use DB browser for sqlight which is free ). Change the animal type from 7 (Bear) to 8 (rabbit). The db file you want to edit is located in the world directory with the same name as your world. (worldname.db) The table is NPC and the field is type. If you have experience with databases this is very easy to do , if you do not then do not attempt.
I am not responsible if you trash your world , if all of your animals eat you alive, or your trees turn upside down or your clock runs backwards LOL. Do it at your own risk. Actually you can change it to any animal type you want.( 1-8) 7 is bear. Keep in mind as you explore, more animals are added , this will let you change any bears in the world. This will get them out of your house.

I was thinking just the location. you could just hold the photo, then hold right mouse button, and then the photo comes close to your face with an animation like the sleeping thing. then you 'wake up' in the location in the photo.
People can choose to make the game as easy or difficult as they like then. some will take a photo of hell to go straight there, while others will enjoy the adventure of walking and mining down to it. it opens up possibilities doesn't it. haa!

See the teleport script in the scripts section :)

Actually you can respawn everything by editing the SQL database , It really is not hard, but you can mess things up in a heartbeat. (I would NOT recommend you trying this unless you have experience ). It takes many steps. I love the way RED51 wrote this game . Unfortunately I am not very good at java but I do program in other languages. You can actually do a lot of neat stuff if you are careful. However it is not for the faint of heart . I have messed things up a bunch of times, fortunately I make backups and I can always revert. Also I have a lot of experience with programming. I have been doing this for a very long time :)

I cant under stand the words from trillna. For now i think its a good solid update. No need to grumble right 5 minutes ago the update is released. The Option to Make the animals not aggressive is definitely in work. ;)

Actually I agree with you, It is a good update , but as I stated in the past many times I do not care for aggressive gameplay. As had been stated many times , this is supposed to be a "play it your way game " I agree that Some people will like killing bears, but when you get attacked and die and lose your entire inventory over a bear attack, I am sure you will not be happy. That is why I feel tht in creative mode , aggressive animals should not bother you . But if you start with them they should attack. I was not trying to be harsh. I do think Red is doing a good job. Unfortunately death in this game costs you your entire inventory. I hope that changes in the future.

I will say the new animals look good but I changed the bears to sheep in the database. LOL don't need to be killed while making a road. Lets work on something like biomes. :) I understand some people will like this but to me, aggressive play is not my style and we need a switch to turn it off . For now I just changed them to sheep :)

Just remember, If one of the new aggressive animals kills you , you lose your entire inventory. At least every time I have fallen or died , I lost everything. Just a heads up .

A trial version would work by limiting the time per session (30 minutes ) and allowing only a few random seed numbers or limiting access to multiplayer. The game synthetic world does something like this and people like it. I paid for alpha as I knew from the start it looked good.
